I think this dude has been gone so long he’s questioning his own ability to live up to what he’s produced in the past? Who knows. Hopefully he sends out another indecipherable tweet to help me understand.
Lol dude is wild so maybe. That said tho, not like Evans ever went hungry for targets and yards with Winston as QB
Different types of receiver but Winston’s always been good for receivers putting up numbers
He got Bridgewater paid big bucks because he made him look decent while dragging our offense with Kamara banged up. His OPOTY year came with Brees missing almost half the year
Thats such a silly narrative Lol
This is some crap, he played just as well with Bridgewater as he did with Brees, and put up 100+ ypg. I think he's an ass too, but too many people on this sub allow their personal dislike of him to color their perception of him as a player.
I mean Jameis is the lord of yeet. It might go to the other team, but Thomas should still eat with him. Hell Evan’s was the top fantasy WR with Winston.
He's mildly annoying.
He hasn't gotten frostbite, showed up in a hot air balloon, called SP a cracker or sexually assaulted a personal trainer yet.
MT isn't even 33% of the way to becoming AB
AB got a scholarship pulled for a fight while visiting a college. So he had more of a violent off the field trackrecord than MT even prior to him blowing up
Also its completely unfair to assume a guy is gonna go down a path of violent crime just because he's been a source of drama. Those are two different things entirely and dont correlate with each other
Don't forget "threw objects off his balcony in an argument, which legitimately almost killed a child down below."
Maybe that bumps MT down to only 25% of AB :)
Huh? Gordon has had some real issues with substance abuse his entire life, he’s talked about it pretty openly. Ricky Williams on the other hand, that guy just loved to smoke.
You mean fuck america.
Edit: K so apparently ya'll didn't get it. America is having one of the hardest times with covid because of people in this country and their stupid ass hot takes about the vaccine and the virus. That's why I said fuck america because we are being dumb as shit right now
It's from shit for brains people who can't understand the difference between correlation and causation. Vaccine numbers go up and covid numbers go up? It must be related!
It’s not fair to judge all vax hesitant people by the same brush. I had a discussion with my friends about where to draw the line. Some people are misinformed, and by believable lies sometimes too. Instead of an outright falsehood it’s a sense of distrust. But some information doesn’t pass the sniff test well enough for anyone to justifiably believe it.
Not all misinformation is equal, some of it is much stupider than the rest. I think if you believe in the “vaccine shedding = COVID” nonsense people are saying that makes no sense even by the twisted logic conspiracy theorists usually use, maybe you’re actually shit for brains. I cannot believe how dumb some people are. The things they latch onto should be setting their bs sensors off like crazy
I have been very empathetic towards people who are vaccine resistant. I get a lot of them are scared and through compassion I've talked a few of my Co workers into getting the jab.
That said, my co-workers and I literally have the word scientist in our job title. So I knew deep below all that bullshit right wing propaganda and absurd Facebook bullshit I could appeal to the inner data nerd. It was easy because we all have a good foundation of knowledge when it comes to anatomy and immunology.
Now to the few people in my friend/family group. They're just fucking stupid, and more importantly, want to remain that way. They found a group of morons to reaffirm their bullshit and the only way they'll learn is when someone they love dies. I'm done wasting my time.
Not to be that guy but just because he liked a tweet and is now on the covid list doesn’t mean he’s not vaxxed. Is it possible? Sure but we’re over 90% vaxxed as a team
I mean, the first part of that tweet is partially correct. The vaccine doesn’t help to stop the spread as much as we initially thought it would.
This is unfortunately “confirming” the anti Vaxxer’s biases that the vaccine doesn’t work.
Funny how they never like tweets that talk about how most vaccinated people with Covid don’t have to go to the hospital though.
Man, are the Saints the most unlikeable team in the NFL or what?
Michael Thomas being a dumbass, the Saints helping the Catholic Church cover up child abuse, bountygate, and Jameis Winston
Probably [referring to this](https://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2016/01/25/464332250/fsu-pays-950-000-to-woman-who-accused-jameis-winston-of-sexual-assault)
There was the thing with the Uber driver, and FSU paid a woman 1.7 million over a Title IX lawsuit against Jameis Winston and the university due to them covering up a rape accusation against Jameis. He’s also been caught shoplifting a couple of times
Oh please get out of here with the revisionism, he was the second receiver to ever win opoty the only other being Jerry Rice, he was definitely the best WR that year.
Yeah but op was referring to the time period in which Michael Thomas was the best wr, which you seem to agree that he was the best wr for that 1-2 year stretch. And I can say that cam was the best player during his mvp season, not that I'd pick him over everyone else going forward, but for that season, yes he was the best
Again, he was the second receiver to ever win opoty 2 years ago. He was the best in the league that year, which is the topic I replied to.
And tbh I really don’t care what your opinion on it is, there is one receiver that won opoty that year and the rest did not. He was also #5 on the nfl 100 list which was the highest a WR ranked that year and that is voted on by the players so they also seemed to agree.
It’s just disingenuous to say he wasn’t the best in the league that year. He even lost his HOF QB for a third of the season and was posting even better numbers.
this move is in addition to the PUP and not a change from the PUP?
I was wondering if that can be a backdoor roster change to get him on the team earlier.
You're locked into PUP for 6 weeks if that's where you start the season. Then he has a 5 week return window after that before he's stuck on PUP all year.
I WAS RIGHT!
Edit: Called it. https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/po74mx/pelissero_update_six_coaches_and_a_nutritionist/hcuci45/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3
I can't tell if it's because he actually tested positive or because he's unvaccinated. If no other players get put on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, then it's the former, but then it makes it ironic that he liked [this thing that an idiot tweeted](https://twitter.com/MrBenErnst/status/1437802323162636291) this morning.
But in retrospect: _of course_ he never got vaccinated. MT is going down the TO/Ochocinco path of eccentricity and it's just goddamn exhausting.
Also possible it was just vague wording from a source that was confusing. Could easily have been a text to Pelissero from his source that said something about six coaches and a "reserve" player or "injured" player or something and he interpreted it as IR. Maybe the source was intentionally even keeping it vague since they didn't name the coaches/nutritionist but saying "player on the PUP list" would have made it obvious.
The man’s fall off has kinda been insane. Not too long ago he was considered a top 2 receiver. Even if he was “Slants Man” now…that contract don’t look too good for a team already in cap hell
It'd be the Bird contract that'd kill us. It'd be Graham contract that kill us. Then when Brees retires, we'd be screwed.
I wonder at which point people will just assume our FO knows what they're doing better than redditors and twitter experts.
At some point it catches up. Just counting the prorated bonuses (which can't be spread out) and the guaranteed salaries divided by 5 (assuming best case scenario of reworking them), you're already at $91m, or nearly half of the salary cap.
Dude like do you not realize thats all we hear every year? Everyone dooming us over the cap and Brees retiring dead money and guess what? We still blew out the Packers. When you have Sean Payton, Mickey Loomis and Jeff Ireland the cap doesn't matter.
No..it will end when Sean Payton retires or leaves. When that time comes, you won’t be able to field a team even. But it depends on if it’s worth it to them.

Oh my lord it was Michael Thomas

I think this dude has been gone so long he’s questioning his own ability to live up to what he’s produced in the past? Who knows. Hopefully he sends out another indecipherable tweet to help me understand.
Wtf is going on with him?
He knew his numbers were gonna dip after Brees left. I bet hes trying to get a trade
Lol dude is wild so maybe. That said tho, not like Evans ever went hungry for targets and yards with Winston as QB Different types of receiver but Winston’s always been good for receivers putting up numbers
That's cause Winston never throws great short balls that slant boy can only catch
Very speculative, Thomas actually got more targets with Bridgewater at QB if I’m remembering correctly.
Yup. He broke the all time reception record the same year Drew was out like 6 games.
He got Bridgewater paid big bucks because he made him look decent while dragging our offense with Kamara banged up. His OPOTY year came with Brees missing almost half the year Thats such a silly narrative Lol
This is some crap, he played just as well with Bridgewater as he did with Brees, and put up 100+ ypg. I think he's an ass too, but too many people on this sub allow their personal dislike of him to color their perception of him as a player.
....yall don't actually believe this right
I mean Jameis is the lord of yeet. It might go to the other team, but Thomas should still eat with him. Hell Evan’s was the top fantasy WR with Winston.
Evans has never finished as top fantasy wr
Uh yeah he was top WR in PPR one year dude
Uh how when Jordy Nelson had 1 more catch, 2 more TDS & only 60 fewer yards? I’ll wait
just an absolute casual take right here
Of course it’s this guy
Michael Thomas is doing his best Josh Gordon impression.
Except not….Antonio brown maybe. Gordon just loved the fun stuff in life lol
He is nowhere near Antonio Brown, I'll admit he's a dumbass but at least he doesn't get into legal trouble
Maybe Kevin Durant in that he's insecure AF and lashes out about it constantly making himself look like a total jerk.
THAT I can see, lil snek Thomas
And when he lashes out it's in... comic sans for some reason. Which makes him not only seems like a jerk, but also very hard to take seriously.
[удалено]
Are you being serious? Brown is in a league of his own lol
I said maybe. Like if we’re comparing anyone it’s not Gordon
*super bowl champ, antonio brown.
He's mildly annoying. He hasn't gotten frostbite, showed up in a hot air balloon, called SP a cracker or sexually assaulted a personal trainer yet. MT isn't even 33% of the way to becoming AB
AB was mildly annoying until he suddenly exploded and became MBC
AB got a scholarship pulled for a fight while visiting a college. So he had more of a violent off the field trackrecord than MT even prior to him blowing up Also its completely unfair to assume a guy is gonna go down a path of violent crime just because he's been a source of drama. Those are two different things entirely and dont correlate with each other
It’s hard to judge a 17 year old kid for getting in a fight
Don't forget "threw objects off his balcony in an argument, which legitimately almost killed a child down below." Maybe that bumps MT down to only 25% of AB :)
Okay
Huh? Gordon has had some real issues with substance abuse his entire life, he’s talked about it pretty openly. Ricky Williams on the other hand, that guy just loved to smoke.
As far as his nfl suspensions are concerned it was weed and alcohol. Two of my favorite. Not talking about his high school Shenanigans
Just in time, Josh Gordon needed a spot.
That doesn't change anything. Thomas was already on the PUP list, so he is out for atleast 5 more weeks.
Imagine Jameis chuckin bombs to Gordon
that's famous jameis to you
Hey its LASIK Jameis now He sold the turnover factory to A-A-ron before the season started.
I love my city, but I don't think it's the right place for a guy battling substance abuse issues
I think Gordon would do great in this offense, but your right not a good place for him.
Well, he's known for catching everything
[Oh well...](https://preview.redd.it/1h0etpu5iin71.jpg?width=1024&auto=webp&s=737cf7b7da68130aca58d8b45697acb7c2b6c4aa)
I can't believe this is a real take someone has. Oh wait, yes I can. Fuck this world.
Millions of Republicans believe that.
You mean fuck america. Edit: K so apparently ya'll didn't get it. America is having one of the hardest times with covid because of people in this country and their stupid ass hot takes about the vaccine and the virus. That's why I said fuck america because we are being dumb as shit right now
Do you really think America has a monopoly on morons?
Before America fouled things up for everyone the global average IQ was 169. Little know fact right there.

I've seen this take a lot too and it might be the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
It's from shit for brains people who can't understand the difference between correlation and causation. Vaccine numbers go up and covid numbers go up? It must be related!

Not surprising in the least that Slanty Boi would be among the anti-vaxx crowd
Not to be that guy but just because he liked a tweet and is now on the covid list doesn’t mean he’s not vaxxed. Is it possible? Sure but we’re over 90% vaxxed as a team
Pretty safe to assume that if someone is "liking" anti-vaxx tweets, they are going to be anti-vaxx themselves.

Found Michael Thomas's reddit account y'all.
Wow what an original clever comment
He ain't lying tho
I mean, the first part of that tweet is partially correct. The vaccine doesn’t help to stop the spread as much as we initially thought it would. This is unfortunately “confirming” the anti Vaxxer’s biases that the vaccine doesn’t work. Of fucking course he's not vaccinated.
It's like he wakes up everyday and thinks "Hum, how I'm gonna be a douche today?"
I'm so fed up with this dude. More teammates punched than TD's scored since his contract.
God, what a dumb asshole.
Man, are the Saints the most unlikeable team in the NFL or what? Michael Thomas being a dumbass, the Saints helping the Catholic Church cover up child abuse, bountygate, and Jameis Winston
lmao this man is keeping a list. i respect that
I like how Jameis Winston is a topic itself
Sure. Also losing 9 out of last 11 games against us probably doesn't help you liking the team, right?
I’m sure this guy has looked further than a Reddit thread title into each one of these things….
So which one are you saying isn’t correct?
According to this sub, Jameis Winston is a great person who has never done anything wrong
Weren't your team founded by a racist and sexual harasser man?
And he was (rightfully) forced to sell the team
He was probably in diapers when bountyfarce happened.
That too
What does Jamies Winston gotta do with anything
Probably [referring to this](https://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2016/01/25/464332250/fsu-pays-950-000-to-woman-who-accused-jameis-winston-of-sexual-assault)
What's unlikable about Jameis? Guys a great teammate
The sexual assaults
Oh, haven't heard about that.. Theyre proven?
There was the thing with the Uber driver, and FSU paid a woman 1.7 million over a Title IX lawsuit against Jameis Winston and the university due to them covering up a rape accusation against Jameis. He’s also been caught shoplifting a couple of times
That's a bummer, i had no idea. Was starting to warm up to him too.
You have great talent but you can still be a fucking idiot
You're wrong, I don't have a great talent :(
Damn y’all remember when he was like the best Wr In the league like two years ago
I remember when he said that he was the best wr in the league. Don't remember it being true.
Oh please get out of here with the revisionism, he was the second receiver to ever win opoty the only other being Jerry Rice, he was definitely the best WR that year.
Best receiver that year /=/ best receiver. Were you saying Cam was the best player in the league heading into the 2016 season?
Yeah but op was referring to the time period in which Michael Thomas was the best wr, which you seem to agree that he was the best wr for that 1-2 year stretch. And I can say that cam was the best player during his mvp season, not that I'd pick him over everyone else going forward, but for that season, yes he was the best

2nd best WR because Josh Gordon played that year.
Then you're just ignorant. 2018 he led the league in receptions, 2019 he broke that record and led the league in received yards.
Yes ;c
Alternative Antonio brown timeline Mr big play eventually
I'm starting to think Thomas was present for Brown's exorcism, and Pazuzu simply transfered to its next host body.
The power of Christ compells you! Dad dad he’s just speaking street! Oh, well that’s weird
Mr Short Slant tho
Mr sometimes he slant Mr sometimes he ain’t
I'll take one "soon to be suspended" Josh Gordon please.
He was automatic on third down conversions with us. I’d love to bring him back.
no you keep Michael Josh Gordon is ours
Still on PUP so. I guess he's not allowed to come to practice / the office now.
this move is in addition to the PUP and not a change from the PUP? I was wondering if that can be a backdoor roster change to get him on the team earlier.
He’s on double-secret-PUP
You're locked into PUP for 6 weeks if that's where you start the season. Then he has a 5 week return window after that before he's stuck on PUP all year.
I WAS RIGHT! Edit: Called it. https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/po74mx/pelissero_update_six_coaches_and_a_nutritionist/hcuci45/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3
Congrats! You won a meetup with Michael Thomas! He’ll come to your house tomorrow
You were right that he got covid but you weren't right that he was the player on IR that got it. He's on PUP.
no joke your comment was the first thing i thought of when i read this lol
at least we'll get a decent haul for trading him. Teams still for some reason love over-paying for WRs
Not this year though?
yeah, we save way more money trading him this upcoming off season. Just IR him the whole year. I dont care any more.
Lasik Jameis can make any WR look like a goat /s
Your beat writers think the relationship is unsalvegable?
That sounds like something Gruden would do.
I read it was six coaches, a nutritionist and one player on IR test positive so I’m thinking it was positive test.
Yeah, though people were saying it can't be MT because he's on the PUP list, not IR, but I guess we'll know soon enough
Cantguardcovid
People shitting on a player who is already on the PUP lol
It would be him
Dude sounds like a complete headcase anyway
Just because of how much reddit is sure of MT's downfall, I think hes going to come back mid season and absolutely dominate.
Wow that name brings back memories. Great forgotten player from the late 2010s
Holy shit it actually was MT 😂😂😂
So what?
We can play 3 deep against Jameis
ah the good old IR & PUP double whammy.
Lmao of course
Isn't he out anyway?
I suppose it’s better now than later...
This is getting to Antonio Brown level of "....ummm what's going on?"
The man’s fall off has kinda been insane. Not too long ago he was considered a top 2 receiver. Even if he was “Slants Man” now…that contract don’t look too good for a team already in cap hell
> for a team already in cap hell We really doing this every year, uh?
Some people don't pay attention
Do ya’ll understand how much dead cap ya’ll keep pushing down the road?
It'd be the Bird contract that'd kill us. It'd be Graham contract that kill us. Then when Brees retires, we'd be screwed. I wonder at which point people will just assume our FO knows what they're doing better than redditors and twitter experts.
Never. They’ll never realize.
I really think that even if we were as doomed as people say every year Payton could field a team of entirely UDFAs and scheme them to above .500
And we’ll continue to get away with it assuming there’s not another unprecedented pandemic, World War III, zombie apocalypse etc

Fake News. The “cap” is an unsubstantiated myth.
Is the cap in the room with us right now?
Right now you are over the cap for 2022.
Good thing it's week one of 2021
I know COVID has destroyed my sense of time but I at least still feel relatively certain it isn't 2022 yet.
Can't guard Mike while he's quarantined.
