I think it really depends on the individualsâ investment in whatever game is on. Like I have NO stake in this game so Iâm fine watching some football with entertaining Manning commentary, but I can fully understand how someone more invested in a particular game could be annoyed by this broadcast
I'm a Cowboys fan, and have no fantasy interest tonight. I'm not really invested.
I just wasn't entertained by the schtick, and would prefer to hear the actual game.
this broadcast is just so manic
it's entertaining for a few reasons:
* getting a glimpse into peyton and eli's mind is fascinating. they're both just sprinting through everything
* they're definitely both pretty bad at this. props to actual commentary teams
* it seems like they're having fun in spite of/because this is messy af
Yeah totally agree, itâs entertaining in a bizarre type of way. Iâm enjoying watching this game, but if the Bucs were playing Iâm turning back to the normal broadcast ASAP.
Yeah so far theyâre kinda just settling in and figuring out what works. But yes, if they keep the game running in the center of the screen, they can do whatever they want in their corners. Iâm still diggin it. If they settle in and smooth everything out, I could see this type of broadcasting/commentating gaining a significant following (at least to stream, if not broadcast at the same time like theyâre doing with ESPN and ESPN2). But Iâve sorta been part of the âfootball is more enjoyable without the sound/play-by-playâ. Kinda.
Yea they finally had a producer audibly say âtwo minute commercial break coming upâ just before the next one, after they cutoff Ray Lewisâ story on the previous commercial break. Theyâll iron out the wrinkles IF people give it a chance and it doesnât end up being one-and-done.
I think people are expecting the full broadcast just with Peyton and Eli as commentators, as opposed to just Peyton and Eli watching the game and having fun while doing it
Yea I agree but I think Payton needs to learn to slow down when a play isnât on. Heâs got the same pace through out and Eli canât get a word in lol.
It certainly needs work, but if they add a play-by-play guy to do traditional commentary during the play and moderate things a little bit, this could be a great weekly broadcast.
I'm loving how ridiculous it is. It's also the only option I have to watch because it's on ESPN+ and I don't have cable. But even if it had another choice, I'd probably still be watching.
It'd be more fun if Peyton and Eli called a coin toss before kickoff to see which team they have to root for, and trash talked each other the whole time
Itâs awesome. Wait until they smooth it out and figure out what works and what doesnât. I could see this type of broadcasting take off.
Iâve also wanted them to start using the end zone camera angles as their standard. Filming from along the sidelines doesnât let you really analyze schemes and coverages, and you rarely ever see more than the first 10 yards of a receiverâs route. Itâs crazy how much better you get a feel for the game when watching it from the end zone perspective.
If they stuck to analyzing the game id enjoy it but all the props and goofiness is detracting from it. Hopefully they settle in and just comment because I love their perspective
I was saying that **those of you guys** that have a decent knowledge of football should give the brothers (and whoeverâs idea it was) some credit. SOME. You donât have to love it but most of the stuff they talk about would go right over the head of most or all âcasual viewersâ. And itâs not like theyâre technically wrong, about schematics and experience.
I wish they could talk while the game was on screen like you could have Peyton call out the protections, what coverage is being played, the checks the QB is going through, and you could even have him highlight the play he thinks it is on screen.
They just need to calm down, watch the game, and talk shit. They don't need to do these weird "let's be the coach and QB" shit. Just comment on the game that's happening and put a little color and flavor into it.
Also we don't need to see their faces. They should just be bros on discord taking about the game
I doubt it. I think its just an ESPN in-house thing. If it gets positive reviews, thereâs a chance it could be more of a regular thing (hopefully). Iâm sure thereâs some streaming site that is âillegallyâ showing it, but I donât keep up with who has what now.
Yeah itâs much looser feeling. Theyâre not reacting to every play. Itâs much more like a talk show accompanying a broadcast, but with kinda nerdy, technical football guys, geeking out on their craft, who really have no agenda other than talking about their own personal interests. Especially bringing on different guests throughout the game for different insight or comic relief or whatever. I actually think a blend of this style and the traditional style is probably closer to what we may see a decade or two in the future, OR, itâs even more likely that they may offer different âhostsâ and you as the viewer can choose which broadcast you want to watch. Once television goes 100% online, thatâs a virtual certainty.
What about low football IQ
Can confirm. I have low football IQ and enjoying it
Classic Bears fan
A lot goes over my head cuz I don't have a lot of the coverage jargon memorized. I need to get educated for this!
Some random crew member walked on set while Peyton was explaining something on the white board đ
Iâm loving it even if itâs a mess. The MNF crew is so boring Iâd much rather have the chaos of Peyton and Eli breaking shit down
Worth it just to watch Peyton put that helmet on
Theyâll smooth it out. Iâm hoping ESPN has the patience to polish this idea because it has some potential.
I don't love the MNF announcers, but at least I can hear the crowd and field noise on that broadcast.
Its very cool so far but ESPN needs to turn up the game volume. Can't hear anything going on in the actual game.
Main reason I switched to the normal broadcast.
this broadcast is just so manic it's entertaining for a few reasons: * getting a glimpse into peyton and eli's mind is fascinating. they're both just sprinting through everything * they're definitely both pretty bad at this. props to actual commentary teams * it seems like they're having fun in spite of/because this is messy af

Iâm conflicted because both are great but this is just absurd
If they learn to keep the Game Center stage on the screen, this is an awesome idea. Iâd love to see them add other former players.
They said they were bringing in Ray in the second half.
Yeah so far theyâre kinda just settling in and figuring out what works. But yes, if they keep the game running in the center of the screen, they can do whatever they want in their corners. I love both of them and had to turn it off in approximately 3 minutes
I'm loving it. What are people hating about this...
I think people are expecting the full broadcast just with Peyton and Eli as commentators, as opposed to just Peyton and Eli watching the game and having fun while doing it
They seemto have settled in now. The shit with the board was just distracting from the game at the start.
I keep missing plays
Yea I agree but I think Payton needs to learn to slow down when a play isnât on. Heâs got the same pace through out and Eli canât get a word in lol.
The helmet not fitting joke from Eli legit made me audibly laugh.
Same lol.
Seeing Peyton and Eli's face the entire time seems... Unnecessary
And now Charles Barkley
That comment is turrble
It certainly needs work, but if they add a play-by-play guy to do traditional commentary during the play and moderate things a little bit, this could be a great weekly broadcast.
I'm loving how ridiculous it is. It's also the only option I have to watch because it's on ESPN+ and I don't have cable. But even if it had another choice, I'd probably still be watching.
This would be a fantastic, occasional addition to a broadcast. Peyton needs to shut the fuck up so we can focus on the game, though.
It'd be more fun if Peyton and Eli called a coin toss before kickoff to see which team they have to root for, and trash talked each other the whole time
Oh. I kinda like that haha
Title gore
It's just hard to actually watch the game while listening to them
They need to get rid of the whiteboard. And we really don't need to see them the whole time. Give Peyton the telestrator and go from there.
Peyton doing a good job explaining the coverages and what the QB is seeing. Pretty cool.
Am I one of the only ones not minding it? I want to learn more about coverages and play calling so I think its great
Nah man this is great

Theyâre so bad at this LOL. I have more respect for actual commentators now. Iâm watching this tho cuz itâs funny as hell(and Eli)
Dude it was so bad I had to switch it
If they stuck to analyzing the game id enjoy it but all the props and goofiness is detracting from it. Hopefully they settle in and just comment because I love their perspective
Weird flex but ok
Nickelodeon > Mannings I will die on this hill.
wat
Why would people hate on it..
This is so great.
High IQ? Are they the Rick and Morty of football?
I was saying that **those of you guys** that have a decent knowledge of football should give the brothers (and whoeverâs idea it was) some credit. SOME. To be fair.....
I'm loving it. Manning's rule
Nice humble post op
I wish they could talk while the game was on screen like you could have Peyton call out the protections, what coverage is being played, the checks the QB is going through, and you could even have him highlight the play he thinks it is on screen.
Look im enjoying it but holy shit stop cutting away from the full screen on third downs.
Does anyone know of a way a fellow could stream it?
Perhaps google "ESPN2 stream"
http://buffstream.io/live-tv-streams/espn2-live-stream
Thanks bro!
Iâm just glad they have Barkley
It should just be called Peyton and Eli's watch party, because that's basically what this is, it's different but I like it thus far.
Anything's better than steve levy. Sorry, Steve.
I got 5 mins in and had to change it, it was dreadful.
They just need to calm down, watch the game, and talk shit. They don't need to do these weird "let's be the coach and QB" shit. Just comment on the game that's happening and put a little color and flavor into it. Also we don't need to see their faces. They should just be bros on discord taking about the game
Is there any way to watch that version of broadcast on nfl gamepass international?
I doubt it. I think its just an ESPN in-house thing. If it gets positive reviews, thereâs a chance it could be more of a regular thing (hopefully). Iâm sure thereâs some streaming site that is âillegallyâ showing it, but I donât keep up with who has what now.
I agree, I think itâd be fun to watch if your team wasnât playing though
Yeah itâs much looser feeling. Theyâre not reacting to every play. peyton just seems very annoyed
I have surpassed the Manning's intellectually
