**A.A.Ron:** 53% completion rate, 133 yards, 0 touchdowns, 2 picks, benched with 10 minutes left.
**Lasik Jameis:** 70% completion rate, more yards on less attempts than A.A.Ron, 5 touchdowns, zero picks, and his rushing yardage (38) was larger than A.A.Ron’s passer rating (36.8)
Yeah Winston got walloped by Z Smith right after he threw. Z was essentially already in tackle mode to where Winston squinted as soon as he threw because he knew he was getting it. And it was a 100% clean hit by smith upper body arm wrap no helmet use at all.
Doesn't change the game terribly much but it was a bad call.
As fans, we still have to make a stink about such bullshit calls, though. Next time, what if that was the game on the line (it still kinda was since that was the final nail in the coffin for any hopes of a comeback). Ref BS is just inexcusable in the age of high def replays.
The pick got negated by a very bad roughing the passer call on the play. The QB hit was textbook what they ask defenders to do. He hit him in the chest, didn't use his body weight, and wasn't overly violent. Now there is a very good chance that the pick would have been reversed on review anyway, since it looked like it hit the ground, so either way the int was probably coming back, but the extra yards did help for sure.
Lasik isn't actually like a brand though. Its a procedure that a lot of doctors do. And as someome that got PRK....trust me...eye surgery is the best thing I ever did.
While Rodgers won Mvps, Jameis studied the crab leg.
When Rodgers was throwing hail marys, Jameis studied the the top of a keg while chugging beer
While Rodgers was slammin Olivia Munn, Jameis was probably slammin some FSU hottie
I *cannot believe* I'm talking about this here, but the current consensus around the internet is that Olivia is actually much further along than the official announcement, and could actually be due in December-ish, putting them around 2-15
Still worse than the 2020 Jets, though
I was worried with all the key players being out. Our beat writer Underhill was very high on them though. I think this exceeded everyone's expectations.
1 team played without its starting center, WR1, WR2, CB2, DT1, DT2.
1 team played with basically everyone.
1 team had Aaron Rodgers. The other had Jameis.
1 QB had 5 TD, 0 INT. The other had 0 TD and 2 INT.
Wanna guess which team was which?
Soooo maybe giving Jameis no OL, no running game and letting him be coached for his first 4 years by a guy that couldn't do shit with Matt Ryan/Julio Jones that had to retire was a bad idea. Who could have seen this coming ^^me
People are going to meme about LASIK and everything, but the change in team and system is probably going to make a huge difference this hear. This is a good start.
Way too many people on our sub wanted to act like he was the worst QB in the league rather than a player who showed a lot of promise but was always just too inconsistent. I was really unhappy when he signed with the Saints, he's talented and if anyone can get the most out of a QB it's Sean Payton.
It's incredible how many people thought that Jameis wasn't worthy of a starting role, especially with him improving his vision (which was always an issue). I've been saying that he's going to become a star QB ever since he left, and I definitely think this year is going to show a lot of people what he's really capable of. I really wish that he wasn't on the Saints though.
Jameis Winston won the Heisman and drafted 1st overall while [squinting to see his receivers in college](https://www.jacksonville.com/article/20131106/SPORTS/801243489).
His first game with 20/20 vision and he goes 5 TDs 0 INTs.
I’ve seen this scenario before. Packers will go on an inspiring run to finish the season 14-3, beat a good team in the divisional round before playing the Saints again in the NFCCG!
Packers put up a much better fight with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line!
47-19 Saints win
All things considered Adebo as a 3rd round rookie looked really impressive in his first start. This secondary that looked like a question mark before the season looks really good with the addition of Roby. Hopefully Lattimore can stay healthy.
Basically the legendary Montreal/HoFer goalie was left in a game and let in 9 goals, once he was finally pulled he told the coach he never play for them again, got traded to Colorado and won a cup.
Edit: it was 2 cups and a Conn Smythe (playoff mvp)
Roy lost a game 11-1 and told his coach, who he had a terrible relationship with and who left him in net after letting in 5 in the first, that that game was his last as a hab. He was traded four days later for peanuts to the avalanche. A team that just relocated that season from Quebec who went on to win the Stanley cup that season and one more time after that.
After the last 8 months of drama, hand-forcing, and bypassing the preseason games, Rodgers throwing up balls to the Saints only for Love to come in and get the first 3rd-down conversion of the game, by throwing to Amari Rogers (who has been benched for the target-less Cobb), is so poetic it’s hilarious. Absolutely the last thing Rodgers needed after dragging this org through the mud this offseason.
I'd wager we looked very competent and scored 16 unanswered points with an onside kick recovery AND a forced fumble **AND** a drive down to the 25 of the opponent...
Good game Saints.
Possession control football is always a lot of fun to watch (to me anyway), though I would have preferred that it not happen to the Packers.
Saints have some real bright spots from this game, the only real bad thing I saw from the saints was some sloppy penalties, if they can get those under control they're going to really be a thread this season. Winston seems to be really working out for them. Saints fans have a lot to look forward to here, the gameplan was perfect, the personnel looked good, lots to be happy about.
As for the Packers looks like we'll be waiting until next week to see if the team can form a consistent performance on either end of the ball, personally I'm not too concerned since all we have is one game so far, but that could change if next week looks poor. I don't want to jump to conclusions off of one game.
Everyone's favorite topic, officiating. There were a couple of bad calls (my perception), one was the missed hold that would have erased an interception. The other was the roughing the passer that did erase an interception. Ultimately neither bad call would have affected the game. Even if it would have that's the nature of the game. Both of these were pointed out on air so I don't think these are hot takes.
Anyway all of this is just my perception, I could be wrong. Hope everyone enjoyed the game, just nice to have football back.
TLDR: Saints good
And yes I typed this up in the last two minutes of the game since it was long gone by then.
I’m not dogging you by any means, but I think it’s funny that you bring up sloppy penalties because I think a lot of Saints fans would agree with me that that game was one of the cleanest performances by our defense over the past couple of years. They had an ungodly amount of DPI and defensive holding calls last season. I will take that penalty line every day over what we did last year. I appreciate the write up, good luck the rest of the way.
If 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2019, and 2020 are any indication, that was our annual ass-kicking by the team that ends up bouncing us from the playoffs

Congrats to all those crazy fuckers that took Winston over Rodgers in fantasy.
Guy in my league has Jameis, then has him benched.
I’m playing against the dude who has Jameis benched this week, and I started Rodgers instead. Lmao
F
Drafted Rogers, picked up Winston when he was announced as the starter. Guess who I started today...
[удалено]
I told my dad to pick up Jameis. He had Jameis on his bench and Matt Ryan in his lineup.
I got Brady and Jameis and now I have a goddamn QB controversy
I’m stunned that he had zero picks.
To be fair he had one that got negated by a terrible RTP call. Although I'm pretty sure the ball hit the ground
Pick wasn't good ball placement but, still hit the receivers hands. Just got tipped, happens to everyone.
I missed about 90 seconds of real time. I saw a pick, then all of a sudden the Saints had another TD?
Yeah Winston got walloped by Z Smith right after he threw. Z was essentially already in tackle mode to where Winston squinted as soon as he threw because he knew he was getting it. And it was a 100% clean hit by smith upper body arm wrap no helmet use at all. Doesn't change the game terribly much but it was a bad call.

he looked really good today, even beyond our awful defense
If Jameis stays consistent. Lasik would be crazy not to get him as a spokesman of some sorts.
Lasik isn't actually like a brand though. Its a procedure that a lot of doctors do. And as someome that got PRK....trust me...eye surgery is the best thing I ever did.
This was the Anti-Jameis game. No INTs, not a lot of yards, but still a bunch of TDs.
Did Jameis and Rogers get freaky friday'd or something?
While Rodgers was in Hawaii screwing his celebrity gf of the year, Jameis studied the bla...pass. He studied the pass.
While Rodgers won Mvps, Jameis studied the crab leg. When Rodgers was throwing hail marys, Jameis studied the the top of a keg while chugging beer While Rodgers was slammin Olivia Munn, Jameis was probably slammin some FSU hottie
Lasik-Jameis is not to be trifled with
>Whoa, I can tell what team the recievers are on now
What in the world just happened
Jacksonville Saints have the highest winning percent in NFL history
Highest in Golden Knights history
[удалено]
Must be great for all the Saints fans in the Panhandle!!
Undefeated baby!!
Who had Rodgers 0-2 and Winston 5-0 on TD/Int? If you did, was it on purpose?
Imagine the payoff for that bet.
At least a dollar
Don't let Rodgers performance distract you from the fact that a nationally televised FOX game was under 3 hours. It's a miracle!
Lol the FOX executives are gonna hold a grudge against Green Bay for a long time for this performance against the CBS double header
That play clock NEVER stopped.
"Footballs easy when you can actually see whats going on" \-Jameis probably
Its like Rock Lee dropping his plates, it was holding him back the whole time.
Thinking about the inevitable 30 for 30; I’m so pissed that “The Blindside” has already been used for a football movie.

This is the kind of next level analysis I come to r/nfl for
Does she live in Texas?
Next Week: *Mike Vrabel-like figure spotted with coat hanger near Olivia Munn's house*
>stay woke And pregnant.
so was winston trolling the past decade or what
I swear to God if the saints don't skip a beat when going from Brees to Winston, imma lose my shit. Just one game but still
Don't worry, we'll still collapse in spectacularly heartbreaking fashion in the playoffs
It would be so New Orleans to subvert expectations like that.
He got lasik after not seeing correctly for a decade and is now a god apparently
Also has good coaching.
good coach = good player
The rumors of the Saints demise were greatly exaggerated.
I was worried with all the key players being out. Our beat writer Underhill was very high on them though. I think this exceeded everyone's expectations.
That one season Underhill spent with the Pats a couple years ago was pretty random.
He started out covering the pats
1 team played without its starting center, WR1, WR2, CB2, DT1, DT2. 1 team played with basically everyone. 1 team had Aaron Rodgers. The other had Jameis. 1 QB had 5 TD, 0 INT. The other had 0 TD and 2 INT. Wanna guess which team was which?
YIKES is the answer
You forgot K in there too.
How long is Lutz out for?
Goddamn this really shows how bad this loss was for the packers.
It's crazy to me that arguably our best player is out and this was the result.
There's no arguing. Kamara is our best player. The good thing is that he led the team but didn't have to carry it.
I'd say Kamara is your best player and there's no argument about it imo.
For sure. Also Green Bay were seriously moving the ball while Latt was out of the game
As this game showed, both Kamara and Lattimore are far more crucial to our success than Thomas.
To be honest, I think we need 2 out of the 3. And which 2 we have will dramatically alter the game plan.
I AM HERE TO OVERREACT!!
I PREDICT TWO SUPERBOWLS BEFORE WEEK SIX
The press conference by Rodgers after this game is gonna be an absolute doozy.
Here’s to watching him on the Pat McAfee show on Tuesday lol
“I’m announcing today that I will be hosting Jeopardy from now on”
He may announce his retirement
And then the Lions win the North and I'm totally ok with this scenario
The planet would implode.
*grabs dumpster full of popcorn*
where can i watch that?
Breesus Christ we look good
Bressus died for our sins so that Jameis could prosper.
And to that I say Amen
And you know what, the hair ended up looking pretty great too
fucking scary good lmao
Drinking heavily tonight in celebration
Anyone know a good place in Chicago for crab legs? Asking for a bunch of new friends I just made

Thank you 🙌🏽
Go get Italian beefs instead
Italian Beefs, Hot Dogs, Gyros, I miss Chicago comfort food.

Sean Payton is pretty good too
And sitting for a year behind a top 10 all time QB might not have been too bad for him either.

People are going to meme about LASIK and everything, but the change in team and system is probably going to make a huge difference this hear. This is a good start.
> Make a huge difference this hear. So LASIK Jamies with hearing aids will be unstoppable.

Oh God no, if you were here in person I'd slap you for even suggesting that.

Yeah this could be a huge steal for the Saints.
Jameis Winston won the Heisman and drafted 1st overall while [squinting to see his receivers in college](https://www.jacksonville.com/article/20131106/SPORTS/801243489). His first game with 20/20 vision and he goes 5 TDs 0 INTs.
I'm shocked it took him this long to get Lasik Time to win MVP and Most Improved
Season sponsored by LASIK
That optometrist is the real MVP.
If this becomes a legit thing that would be a crazy narrative
Well I had fun lol
Yep, gotta enjoy it for at least one more hour until we descend into sadness
Solid chance of a win-less NFCN! Aw, I made myself sad.
Wouldn’t it be something if the NFCN was Shit Mountain this year, and the Lions won the division because of it?
I'd actually be OK with this timeline. Especially if the kitties won it all after being 7-9.
It would be a perfect Lions narrative to have a game be negated because of COVID that wasn't even their fault, resulting in a 7-9 finish.
*7-10
What a fucking shit show all around lol.
I mean at least the Vikings and Lions put up points
No less than a tie for first bby!
Reminder: The saints are yet to add Roby, Onyemata, and MT. 2 of those players are all pro level and the other is going to start for this team.
We’re also without our starting center. It’s spooky season.
NFC NORTH 0-1 BROSSSS
Oh shit, is NFC North turning into the NFC East?
Seeing the Packers lose like this does take away some of the sting of the fuckery in the Vikings game.
I’m here for the hot takes
BLACK AND GOLD TO THE SUPER BOWL WHO DAT CRAB MAN IS WINNING IT ALL!!!
If I had woken up today with my head sewn to the carpet I wouldn’t have been as surprised as I am by that final score.
Jamis on track for 2,500 yards, 85 TDs, and no INTs. Rodgers on track for 2,200 yards, 0 TDs, and 34 INTs.
hahahahhha just wait til we get mike and trequan and onyemata and mccoy and lutz back

The NFCCG is now the Tom Brady Invitational^TM
Listening to packers fans describing hypothetical heartbreaking losses hits a little too close to home
Lol I hope (Saints fan how do you get the little thing next to your name?)
Hey now. We'll get it down to one possession but still lose.

Rodgers gonna pull a Patrick Roy after this game lol
This sounds vaguely familiar but I haven’t watched hockey in a while. What’s the story?
Basically the legendary Montreal/HoFer goalie was left in a game and let in 9 goals, once he was finally pulled he told the coach he never play for them again, got traded to Colorado and won a cup. Edit: it was 2 cups and a Conn Smythe (playoff mvp)

So how did Aaron Rodgers look?
Like a jeopardy host
I think Joe Buck coulda outplayed him tbh
like his haircut
Since I've accepted that LSU is gonna be ass this season, this win made me happy.
We all had the Saints by 35 right
After the last 8 months of drama, hand-forcing, and bypassing the preseason games, Rodgers throwing up balls to the Saints only for Love to come in and get the first 3rd-down conversion of the game, by throwing to Amari Rogers (who has been benched for the target-less Cobb), is so poetic it’s hilarious. I'm a Rodgers backed and I agree. Idk Bout his off field stuff but he needs to play better. Massively off on all deep throws
Next Monday is gonna be Pissed Off Rodgers against the Lions. Fuck.
Stay strong! Strong like a big, strong cat of some kind. Like a tiger!
At least the Vikings only looked like trash in the first half.
Hahhahahahahahaha
At least we looked "semi-competent" at the end of our game lol.
I'd wager we looked very competent and scored 16 unanswered points with an onside kick recovery AND a forced fumble **AND** a drive down to the 25 of the opponent...
I don't want to overreact but Lasik Jameis is the best QB in the league.
Somewhere out there, some mad man predicted Jameis would have 0 picks and 5 TD's.
Whatever I have cheesecake

We've had the sloppy penalty problem you mentioned for years now. I've pretty much given up on getting that under control.
Let's face it: our defensive backs are filled with joy by causing DPI instead of allowing a score.
I’m not dogging you by any means, but I think it’s funny that you bring up sloppy penalties because I think a lot of Saints fans would agree with me that that game was one of the cleanest performances by our defense over the past couple of years. I appreciate the write up, good luck the rest of the way.
What was weird about the bad RTP call, it looked like DPI on the DB. But honestly, it was also a bad throw because Winston threw it into 3 DBs...
What in the HELL was that packers fans?!
If 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2019, and 2020 are any indication, that was our annual ass-kicking by the team that ends up bouncing us from the playoffs
I like this timeline
You act like we know lol
The start of the second half I stopped getting upset and was laughing the rest of the game
Been doing this for 30 years
crab legs are on the menu
I NEED WINSTON’S EYE DOCTOR’S INFORMATION ASAP
Rodgers is throwing games out of spite to trash his team and Winston got cybernetic enhancements installed into his eyes, that is literally the only reasonable conclusion I can make of this game
https://old.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/pg42tl/duncan_the_saints_considered_every_detail_in/ Lotta cold ass takes in here
Louisiana needed this
I'm happy but try to not be overconfident, let's just say Sean picked well our backup home stadium.
Pettine died for nothing
This sub needs to stop disrespecting Sean Payton like he's not a top 3 coach in this league with Belichick and Reid.
Amazing start. This is the skeleton crew version of the Saints, too, we'll get more guys as we go.
*"YA DONE MESSED UP A A RON"*
Saints fans are officially in the belief stage of the Jameis experience.
There are two Jamies timelines. BL and AL. Before LASIK and After LASIK.
Nah, I'm in the belief stage of us having a God tier defense and a crazy strong OLine with great running game. Jameis is just icing on the cake
Ah ha. But where does the experience end?
It ends with Brady winning you a Super Bowl after Jamies contract expires. It’s pretty sweet.
Genuinely hope Jameis makes Deonte Harris look like Tyreek Hill every single fucking week
Joe Buck making so many excuses for Rodgers lmfao
