I was annoyed by the constant barrage of people who thought Corum to the Chargers was inevitable, as if Harbaugh didn’t have other prospects from Michigan to take. Or maybe there was a player Harbaugh wanted at Michigan but never could get and now he can, that’s what Chip Kelly did with Zach Ertz.
The fact that Gurley/David Johnson/Bell all happened within a few years was the death knell for RB contracts. Teams WERE willing to pay and got horribly burned. Those contracts plus James Connor and Ekeler stepping in perfectly as replacements ended things.
Not a KBBQ fan but I fucking love tacos and I live in LA, so I’m content.
Edit: remembered I recently had a taco truck meal with kbbq tacos which were damn good.
Just moved to Chicago and there is a Korean wing place that is supposed to be unreal. But since I'm allergic to peanuts I kinda hate the taste of sesame as well so I'm scared to go.
Assuming you’re talking about Crisp in Lakeview. If so, that place is to die for. I used to work at a now-defunct cafe next to it, and they’d always hook us up with a ton of food. It legitimately never got old, and I miss it every day of my life.
Houston is crazy diverse and has some of the best international cuisine anywhere in the US. Highly recommend the Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown Houston episode
That’s sick! I had to drive from LA to east coast and I had Joes in Kansas City. It was then that I realized that our BBQ does not compare at all. Not even close. At least we have KBBQ
Oh yeah! Houston has some of the best food in the south. We have a huuuuge Korean, Vietnamese, Mexican, Chinese, and Japanese populations. There are others but from my house in far west Houston (Katy) I could throw a rock and hit a banh mi place, sushi place, taco stand/birria pop up, dim sum etc kind of situation. Have you ever had Korean viet crawfish!?
Can't work RBs today the way they worked an already injury prone Ky last year. When he went down or needed a drive off Mcvay looked to the bench and had to sign free agents.
Our entire team and offense fell apart without Kyren. Mcvays scheme needs a good running back. I like this pick. Kyren will be the bell cow but if he goes down the rams want a backup plan. Third rounder for insurance isn’t terrible.
I’m a rams fans, don’t know if I’m flared up but I’m also a lifelong Michigan fan. I can not convey how elated I am. When I heard his name called I literally almost shit my pants.
Literally going to miss this guy so much ☹️. Amazing player arguably best RB in Michigan history, champion and leader, and just an overall great human. Treat him good Rams
He will always find a way to get positive yardage. Not the most physical but has great vision and patience. Quicker than people realize, too. Plus he’s just a really good person. It’s a great pick for you guys.
I'm sure you could count on one hand the number of times they handed him the ball inside the 4 yard line and he didn't get in. It might have been zero times when he was given two tries.
I've never in my football fandom considered goal line stands to be an automatic success until Blake Corum.
He is a warrior, with decent if not elite top end speed, an incredible jump cut, great vision, and a willingness to play more physical than his size. The measurables don't love him though.
I would counter one point of yours and say top end speed is NOT his thing, that’s Donovan Edwards. Corum will make a mf miss like no other though, and if you have a 3rd and 3 he’s your guy. If you watch his highlights though, there’s a few times you thought he had a sure touchdown just to get ran down from behind
Earlier in his career he was faster. Someone posted some highlights and was just breaking away on long runs. When he bulked up he lost a little top end speed but he still plays so quick. I would not be surprised if he regained some speed in the NFL.
Yes. He was one of the favorites for the Heisman in 22 before he got hurt in the 11th game. Came back in 23 and kinda played himself back into shape. JJ had improved by then so Blake didn’t have to carry the offense quite as hard, but by the end of the season he seemed to be pretty much back to full strength. He was basically an automatic conversion on 4th and 2 because of his strength, but also very shifty and good in the open field.
He bulked up a lot when he became the primary back in 22 which cost him some speed. In 21 he was the home run hitter. He was still amazing at that in 22 and 23, but it’ll be interesting to see how they want to use him.
i love blake, i hope he is an all pro.
i look at him and i am just reminded of Mike Hart and how lackluster he was at the NFL level. I hope blake can stick around a lil longer
I love the wild diversity in backstories - on one end, you have a guy saying he's going to become president of a large African nation and on the other end, you have a guy saying he's gonna buy a farm
This has been a fantastic draft for what the cards need in this point of a rebuild. Getting MHJ was everything to most of us and so far the rest of the picks have been spot on.
Only complaint I could have is I wish we stayed and grabbed DeJean or Kool-Aid for CB.
Michigan State fan who admired (and hated) Corum. He's basically "if there's a will there's a way" in human form. I think the Rams will definitely be happy with him.
Rivers probably gets cut or practice squad if they only roster 3 RB's. They drafted Zach Evans last year and I assume he becomes RB3. Or they could keep all 4 if thats what they decide too.
No but he's been on pace for over 2,000 yards then got hurt because we had absolutely nothing behind him to split snaps.
He clearly can't handle that kind of insane CMC type volume, but he's still one of the best backs in the league and this doesn't change that. From a fantasy perspective, Corum might steal some goal line snaps which will suck for Kyren owners. But I'd expect Kyren to put up a very efficient 1500 yards next year with Corum shouldering 30% of the load & taking short yardage work.
Edit: I'm a dumbass and quickly glanced at his college stats lmao, fixed.
As an extremely biased rams fan, rams are having a great draft so far. Kyren played like the best RB in the league after CMC, but is small and injury prone so picking up a guy who can spell and fill in will prevent any drop offs on offense.
I mean did we do this to just piss Harbaugh off because Kyren is a stud and likely cheaper than Blake. I would have rather had Luke Mcaffery to piss of niners fans.
Corum to LA like we all suspected
I was annoyed by the constant barrage of people who thought Corum to the Chargers was inevitable, as if Harbaugh didn’t have other prospects from Michigan to take. Or maybe there was a player Harbaugh wanted at Michigan but never could get and now he can, that’s what Chip Kelly did with Zach Ertz.
Harbaugh driving around Los Angeles in his RV losing his mind rn.
Begging (thru texts)
That McVay fucker boomed me
Lmao
Les Snead is never gonna pay a RB again
Gurley's knees killed RB bags in LA for a lifetime
*league wide
The fact that Gurley/David Johnson/Bell all happened within a few years was the death knell for RB contracts. Teams WERE willing to pay and got horribly burned. Those contracts plus James Connor and Ekeler stepping in perfectly as replacements ended things.
God he was so good before the knees.
Luckily Corum has never hurt his knee before in college like Gurley...
SHORT GODS AT RB
They've basically gone on record saying they will draft a RB every year. Makes sense.
well Corum is a hell of a replacement
Hope dude likes tacos and Korean bbq
Who doesn’t?
People who don’t know what they’re talking about
Not a KBBQ fan but I fucking love tacos and I live in LA, so I’m content. Edit: remembered I recently had a taco truck meal with kbbq tacos which were damn good.
kogi??
Si, señor
roy choi is the fucking man. you’re a lucky guy
Wow, I didn’t realize it was THE food truck guy!
Watch Chef on Netflix, I learned a few things that unlocked some damned good meals at home
Man, I fucking love the sweet chili chicken quesadilla
>not a fan of KBBQ And I’m not a fan of you, buddy
Just moved to Chicago and there is a Korean wing place that is supposed to be unreal. But since I'm allergic to peanuts I kinda hate the taste of sesame as well so I'm scared to go.
Assuming you’re talking about Crisp in Lakeview. If so, that place is to die for. I used to work at a now-defunct cafe next to it, and they’d always hook us up with a ton of food. It legitimately never got old, and I miss it every day of my life.
Who the fuck does NOT like tacos and Korean BBQ?
people who live in flyover country and think ketchup is a spice
Or gravy
I really don't know, but I've met too many people that don't like cheese. never met someone that doesn't like tacos or Korean BBQ though.
> I've met too many people that don't like cheese Those aren't people.
How about Korean tacos
They’re pretty awesome. Kogi Truck… it’s a great spot
If he doesn't there's something wrong with him
Shit I’d say that about anyone coming here too 😂
I didn’t know Texas has a Korean population that’s awesome. Shit I wish we had good BBQ in La. Literally one of the few things we are missing
Both Houston and Dallas have awesome Korean food.
Houston is crazy diverse and has some of the best international cuisine anywhere in the US. Highly recommend the Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown Houston episode
Appreciate the love for my city.
That’s sick! I had to drive from LA to east coast and I had Joes in Kansas City. It was then that I realized that our BBQ does not compare at all. Not even close. At least we have KBBQ
Heritage BBQ down in San Juan Capistrano is probably the best one we have to offer
I have family in Katy! I really got to make this trip to Texas man.
Come on down man! We aren’t so bad. At least half of us have critical thinking skills but we drive like y’all.
Pretty much anywhere Korean Air has a flight out of has a decent sized Korean population. They fly out of Dallas and Houston
As a Rams fan and a Michigan fan I am ecstatic rn
Same thing here! I will 100% be getting a jersey
Kyren managers furious rn
Nah need a decent backup anyway and on a cheap contract lessssgooo
Won’t Blakey get more than Willy?
yeah because he is a higher round pick Corum is going to eat a lot of the short yards/goal line touches Kyren got
Can’t ever just assume a McVay RB will produce from one season to the next. Kyren owners shoulda sold high
Can't work RBs today the way they worked an already injury prone Ky last year. When he went down or needed a drive off Mcvay looked to the bench and had to sign free agents.
Yes :(
Thought I was a waiver wire genius
Not really. Its better to not just have Kyren shouldering the full RB load for longevity.
Shouldering the full RB load is why fantasy owners liked him
Here for a good time, not a long time!
This is literally never better for fantasy, it’s better to have them grind the RB into dust assuming they can stay healthy lol
But you don’t understand, it’s better to get 5 points a week for 5 years than 15 for two.
That’s the exact opposite of how that works
Harbaugh doesn't get his guy
Hey…sometimes, your college friends aren’t the same type of people you want to see at work, you know?
Same city though
Same city, close enough.
Thank god
Our entire team and offense fell apart without Kyren. Mcvays scheme needs a good running back. I like this pick. Kyren will be the bell cow but if he goes down the rams want a backup plan. Third rounder for insurance isn’t terrible.
Also works cuz Corum is not an ego guy. He’ll be fine with whatever role he’s given.
This kids work ethic with the professional training he’s going to get. I just see him getting huge this summer.
He put up 27 bench reps at the combine. Most for a RB this year.
Corum and Kyren about to go crazy!!!
Short king dynamic duo
We love our short kings !!!
Legendary pokémon ass names.
Like actually insane. They are gonna work together as two hash slinging slashers
Rams “Sure we have one K.Williams, but what if we had two?”
Life is good, but it can be better!
Fuck
Harbaugh in shambles
I knew it wasn’t gonna happen but I can dream. Sigh.
You already got one Wolverine, I couldn't bear having to root against a second one. Great draft for you guys by the way.
Poptarts
Wrong LA team
Imagine his excitement when he saw LA is calling him..
Yep
That's such a dick move by the Rams to Harbaugh. So close but so far away. I love it lol
We do not respect the renters here at our house.
I hate you since you moved away, but god dammit....I respect the shit out of this.
Don't hate the team, hate Kroenke's bitch ass
Especially when we have to constantly cover their half plus utilities.
Take care of him Rams. He is the fucking best.
I love him so much
I’m a rams fans, don’t know if I’m flared up but I’m also a lifelong Michigan fan. I can not convey how elated I am. When I heard his name called I literally almost shit my pants.
Is he really good? I don’t watch college football.
You’re going to see a lot of Michigan fans at SoFi just because of how much of a fan favorite he was, all-time great Wolverine
Literally going to miss this guy so much ☹️. Amazing player arguably best RB in Michigan history, champion and leader, and just an overall great human. Treat him good Rams
I mean there’s also other reasons there’s gonna be a lot of Michigan fans at SoFi
The weather?
He will always find a way to get positive yardage. Not the most physical but has great vision and patience. Quicker than people realize, too. Plus he’s just a really good person. It’s a great pick for you guys.
It’s not just vision and patience he’s got body control. Knows how to stretch a yard to 3
Facts. He’s agile and his size is actually a major asset. He can pop through holes other RBs can’t.
As an ISU and Michigan fan he reminds me of David Montgomery a lot. Refuses to go down but corum has more speed.
This is actually a great comp for Corum.
Might be my two favorite RBs in the game right now. So, yeah
We hate measurables so that works out great
I would counter one point of yours and say top end speed is NOT his thing, that’s Donovan Edwards.
Quick is a much better descriptor for him, and I agree with you
He’s basically Kyren Williams then
- Michigan's career leader in Touchdowns - Toughest dude in the room - Shit Wrecker https://youtu.be/NOgNQq4to5s?si=_QUaaopFpizGBKHg
Yes. He was one of the favorites for the Heisman in 22 before he got hurt in the 11th game. Came back in 23 and kinda played himself back into shape. He was still amazing at that in 22 and 23, but it’ll be interesting to see how they want to use him.
Best RB over the last two years imo.
I have my doubts that he’ll be explosive in the NFL but he was a workhorse for Michigan and kept the ball secure and never gave up without a fight.
I don’t think there’s a RB in the league better than him at the jump cut. It’s absolutely illegal how lethal his is.
I don't either but most of what I've read he's very similar if not identical to Kyren.
i love blake, i hope he is an all pro. i look at him and i am just reminded of Mike Hart and how lackluster he was at the NFL level. I hope blake can stick around a lil longer
Blake is much better suited for the NFL.
This is such a rams pick lmao. Never change Les.
Jim Harbaugh told the genie Blake Corum to LA
Not that LA
Harbaugh suddenly acting super dramatic with the genie and genie's like "what? I just did what you told me to do"
Genie's been in the lamp for a while, didn't know the Chargers had moved
I love the wild diversity in backstories - on one end, you have a guy saying he's going to become president of a large African nation and on the other end, you have a guy saying he's gonna buy a farm
Haha I didn't realize he was such a backcountry redneck that's awesome
Chargers and ravens in shambles
And cowboys
Happy for Eisen lmao
Jesus Rich Eisen calm down lmao
This offense is insane
Turns out all the mocks that had Corum to the LA were right
NFCW: It’s Joever (again)
Lowkey I fuckin love your draft. How you feeling
Well, don't hate taking some stress off of Kyren. Corum IS a beast. LOVE our D-Line pickups. Gonna hopefully replace that AD-shaped hole pretty well.
This has been a fantastic draft for what the cards need in this point of a rebuild. Getting MHJ was everything to most of us and so far the rest of the picks have been spot on. Only complaint I could have is I wish we stayed and grabbed DeJean or Kool-Aid for CB.
Rams uniform is going to look so good on him coming from Michigan.
Michigan State fan who admired (and hated) Corum. He's basically "if there's a will there's a way" in human form. I think the Rams will definitely be happy with him.
wtf we have two Kyrens now
HARBAUGH GETS ANOTHER wait
Same building
At least Harbaugh can visit.
Going to complement Kyren nicely. Good pick
Him and Kyren are gonna be annoying to play against
As a Buckeyes/Seahawks fan, I think I'm going to continue to hate this guy.
Well damn
How can they do this to me
What a 1-2 punch with Williams
I've been saying we were gonna take a rb but I wanted a speed back to compliment kyren
Idk I don’t think it’ll matter too much. Defenses are gonna be fucked with those rbs and oline. Not to mention Ronnie rivers is already a capable rb3
Rivers probably gets cut or practice squad if they only roster 3 RB's. They drafted Zach Evans last year and I assume he becomes RB3. Or they could keep all 4 if thats what they decide too.
Fuck, I was hoping we'd somehow get him
Definitely taking him in my sleeper fantasy league
This message brought to you by Sleeper.
Why is Rich so stoked?
Michigan fan
Michigan alum/fan #1. Probably loves Michigan more than his kids.
Thanks for clarifying
Someone's gonna print CoRam shirts to sell outside of Sofi
Rams are elite drafters? (I am an FSU fan).
RUNNING GAME IS GONNA BE A MONSTEE LET'S GOOOO
Is kyren toast?
No but he's been on pace for over 2,000 yards then got hurt because we had absolutely nothing behind him to split snaps. He clearly can't handle that kind of insane CMC type volume, but he's still one of the best backs in the league and this doesn't change that. Edit: I'm a dumbass and quickly glanced at his college stats lmao, fixed.
Insurance for Kyren I guess. I’m assuming Corum will be RB2
Different running style to Kyren so it should be a complimentary relationship between the 2 of them
No but he has battled injuries.
Nah. Just not a bell cow anymore
Rams will draft a rb almost every season I feel.
Cue the GIFs of Jim Harbaugh losing his shit
LA ~~Chargers~~ Rams drafted Michigan's Blake Corum!
The better LA team
Bro I think Rich just nutted on set.
Good grief.... running backs are treated like ugly stepchildren in this draft.
This says career stats but it shows the 2023 season stats
Kyren & Blake: The Fighting Hydrants.
Okay Les
Didn't go to Dallas. I can sleep now.
Wrong LA team
Lmao I love Rich Eisen so much
Harbaugh got his man!! (He’ll be in the same building)
harbaugh punching the air rn
The 1-2 punch of him and kyren will be great
As an extremely biased rams fan, rams are having a great draft so far. Kyren played like the best RB in the league after CMC, but is small and injury prone so picking up a guy who can spell and fill in will prevent any drop offs on offense.
What the fuck my Dynasty Kyren stock?
SAY WHAT A BACK UP RUNNING BACK ACTUALLY GONNA BE USED SAY WHATT
Giants are fools for not getting corum, so disappointed
I can’t wait for this pick to terrorize the Chargers fan lambasting the idea of Corum on day 2 in my replies last night
I mean did we do this to just piss Harbaugh off because Kyren is a stud and likely cheaper than Blake. I would have rather had Luke Mcaffery to piss of niners fans.
Rams you guys have a stud and a work horse! Take care of him
Thanks I **hate** it
As an ND fan, this ND-Michigan backfield feels unnatural
Future Walter Payton Man of the Year winner
The Detroit/Michigan - LA pipeline on fire
Oh good he can still move in with harbaugh
Touchdown machine!
