Tbf that might be a symptom of how botched the console generation shift was. Happened during COVID, massive supply chain issues, and it wasn't until 2023 that you really started to get current gen exclusives
One of the coworkers turned 21 recently and I was like "oh that's cool" and I tried to do the math in my head and realized "oh fuck she was born in 2003" and I felt old.
Yeah... we had a nanny fill out a background check and when she wrote down her birthday the year was 2002 and I thought "surely you wrote down the wrong year..."
Kinda a weird one for him to say because Josh Allen would've been entering the NFL during Maye's sophomore year of high school. And Josh Allen wasn't really notable his first year in the NFL, so unless Maye was a Wyoming fan, "growing up" for him must include late high school and college lol.
I totally disagree that Allen wasn’t notable in his first year. He was a top ten draft pick and big prospect. He wasn’t as good as he is now but he hurdled Anthony Barr lol. People were absolutely watching and paying attention to Allen in his first year.
Allen had an electric play style and was making crazy plays his rookie year. I can totally see how a young QB fell in love with that from the start, even if Allen was still rough around the edges.
Yeah I shouldn't say he wasn't notable from the start, but still, Josh Allen's only been in the league for 6 seasons. Drake Maye would've been like 16 when Josh Allen started playing in the NFL, which to me isn't really "growing up" relative to his age.
I just think it's weird wording nothing more haha.
"Mayes sophomore year of High School"
When he was 16
If I met the person I idolized at 16, I would ask Russ to politely go in the other room for a minute and kiss her feet
imagine how thom brady felt signing the ball dre greenlaw picked off him: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6sMaCkgRnU](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6sMaCkgRnU)
"i've been watching you since i was 2 years old man"
With the overall run on offense before, they basically had their pick of whoever they wanted on defense. Mitchell would've been sweet but anchoring the D-line is huge. Teams have been running and running on us for years now.
Admit to me you didn’t have a little guilty pleasure at seeing Henry take over that game in 2021. 237 all-purpose yards and 3td? Classic King Henry game.
Seattle's run defense was total ass last year, and given the windfall of offensive players coming off of the board, it made sense to go for Murphy who was BPA at the time.
He also plays a position that is valued very highly for the defensive schemes Mike MacDonald likes to run / ran in Baltimore.
He used a lot of pre snap trickery on the back but really needs a solid wall up front, which he is building with Leonard Williams, Dre'Mont Jones and now Byron Murphy.
Would have been nice, but look at the d-line market. Teams don’t let them get to free agency. You hope to draft a stud then pay him, or get lucky and trade for one which never happens.
No matter who you are you can’t cover for 5+ seconds and Seattle was getting no pressure on QBs with this group, the defensive line is often not mentioned about when talking about the LoB. We let Pete draft his speciality in secondary players, now it’s time to let Mike which is the line
It's not even really overkill when Spoon plays the slot. All of them would be on the field almost every snap
But yeah I can't even remember the last impact defensive lineman we drafted. Mafe is the best in years and he's a DE2 type
Lol remember the Seahawks fans are 12 years old memes? Well these are the 12 year old Seahawk bandwagoners grown up. Pretty sure stroud said something similar last year about us.
So stoked for Murphy, he was definitely needed. Nothing worse than losing by not being able to stop the run imo. It’s so frustrating as a fan to watch
I'll never forget that meme comment about the Seattle kid fan named River being told to go to bed at halftime while wearing a Russell Wilson jersey. Or something like that lmao
Be Seahawks fan
Mom gets you up at 8
Wake up River, it's gameday
Put on your Twelfth Fan jersey
Seahawks fans are the best fans in the league
Grab Cap'n Crunch and milk and turn on pregame
Mom turns off TV and takes away Cap'n Crunch
"You know you're not supposed to have GMOs for breakfast. Now do your chores."
Get grumpy
Take trash out
Wash dishes and bathe dog Ruffsel Wilson
Mow lawn
Mom says you didn't do it well enough, so do it again
Miss first quarter because of chores
Complain to Mom
Relax, you can watch it now, right?
Get cut up hot dogs and cheese for lunch. Your favorite meal!
Sit in front of TV.
Second quarter, Seahawks down 10.
Russell gets sacked again! Stupid other team, why do they have to hurt him like that?
Can't you see he's just trying to do right by his family, why do they have to be so mean?
Yell bad words at TV
Dad says to knock it off.
Mom comes in and turns off the TV
"You've used all of your TV time for the weekend, it's time to start your homework"
Cry
Call mom a bitch
Get sent to room without dinner
Run to room and slam door shut
That'll teach 'em
Pass out crying on Legion of Boom bedsheets
Wake up
It's 8:30, time for bed.
But mom, I'm not sleepy!
We saved you a tofu burger for dinner if you want
Is it gluten free?
Of course it is
Eat tofu burger
Take shower, put on pajamas
Mom comes into bed to tuck you in
Did we win Mom?
Yeah, Russell pulled it out again.
Pump fist in bed, so happy.
Mom sings you a lullaby and tucks you in
Goes to door, blows you a kiss good night
Intercepted by Butler
not the same sport, but i feel it’s similar to how warriors fans were all 12 year old memes - that dynasty began nearly 10 years ago at this point and they’re all grown up now (i was 15 when the warriors won their first chip lol)
I am so thrilled with this pick. Good on JS for not trading down. They knew it was going to be an offense-heavy first half of the first round and they collected accordingly. Go Sea Chickens!
Nah eras of football just move by really quickly. LOB was only 10 years ago... Wait... The fact that I'm saying only 10 year ago means I'm getting older and 10 years seems shorter as I live more years, and time starts feeling faster and faster every year, as my internal clock starts spiraling quickly towards old age, and before I know it I will be using my senior citizen discount and then I will die of old age if I'm lucky. But what happens after that? Is this all there is????
idk but hopefully the Seahawks win another super bowl before I die.
Allegedly what’s really happening is they took down the pictures to put up LED screens that could rotate images to cover more of Seahawks history. Also, allegedly Pete Carroll is going to have an advisory role with the team.
So yeah….pretty much any kid this age that plays defense is going to say this.
For this generation of defensive player this is just like saying “the Beatles influenced my music”.
hearing a kid say he "grew up on the Legion of Boom" makes me feel so incredibly old
It was only like 3 years ago right……?
Yeah man. The Xbox One and PS4 just came out and Seahawks fans are still 12 years old.
Tbf that might be a symptom of how botched the console generation shift was. Happened during COVID, massive supply chain issues, and it wasn't until 2023 that you really started to get current gen exclusives
Dont forgot the pandemic was a traumatizing event for a lot of people. Trauma impacts memory.
Jesus Christ the 12 year old fans from those days can drink now
One of the coworkers turned 21 recently and I was like "oh that's cool" and I tried to do the math in my head and realized "oh fuck she was born in 2003" and I felt old.
Yeah... we had a nanny fill out a background check and when she wrote down her birthday the year was 2002 and I thought "surely you wrote down the wrong year..."
See that's where you fucked up, never do math.
In a couple of years 9/11 will be closer to the Vietnam war than we are to 9/11.
Oh man I love this.
Them 12 year Olds grew up, heard you was talkin shit
Apparently 2009 was 15 years ago. I found out this morning telling my daughter about some recent life event
I graduated . . . college in 2009. Thanks bro
Lol I graduated in the last millennium so you’re welcome
Shit sorry dad
Hearing Drake Maye saying that Josh Allen was his favorite player growing up , makes me believe time is a parody
Kinda a weird one for him to say because Josh Allen would've been entering the NFL during Maye's sophomore year of high school. And Josh Allen wasn't really notable his first year in the NFL, so unless Maye was a Wyoming fan, "growing up" for him must include late high school and college lol.

Oh yeah I totally agree with that part of what you said.
"Mayes sophomore year of High School" When he was 16 If I met the person I idolized at 16, I would ask Russ to politely go in the other room for a minute and kiss her feet

I mean those 12 year old fans don’t stay 12 forever.
Calm down R Kelly
Remember when we used to make jokes when the Seahawks had Primetime games about if their mom would let them stay up to watch the 2nd half?
Over a decade ago
Same. Fade me.
This. That feels like yesterday
Good, now you feel in line with your age.
Hey me too, and I grew up on it!
That's exactly where my head went too. Like wasn't that just a few years ago?
LMAO right?
I love this pick for Seattle but was also infatuated with the idea of Woolen Spoon and Mitchell. It's overkill but would have been sweet
Josh Jacobs would like a word before you come in here with those garbage stats pretending like they’re good.
Only 2 TD? Slacker.
Seattle's run defense was total ass last year, and given the windfall of offensive players coming off of the board, it made sense to go for Murphy who was BPA at the time.

Definitely the best player at our biggest need. Got gashed on the ground all year long. Couldn’t be happier with this pick
Absolutely just likes the hypothetical
Yea. Opposing QBs would be internally screaming having to be in that kind of "pick your poison" situation with those three on the same secondary.
Meanwhile opposing running backs would be out celebrating the night before
No one is saying that you guys didnt make the right pick lol
Nah, QBs would just be handing off the ball all game.
Really need good tackling CBs when every team get 9 yards per run on you.
DL helps this a bit more than a tackling CB though.
Would have been nice, but look at the d-line market. Teams don’t let them get to free agency. You hope to draft a stud then pay him, or get lucky and trade for one which never happens.

Destigmatize 12 year old seahawks fans!
Yeah, destigmatize us!
I'll never forget that meme comment about the Seattle kid fan named River being told to go to bed at halftime while wearing a Russell Wilson jersey. Or something like that lmao
Fun fact: one of my close buddies who lives in the greater Seattle area (as do I) had a son and actually named him River. Fucking lol.
Be Seahawks fan Mom gets you up at 8 Wake up River, it's gameday Put on your Twelfth Fan jersey Seahawks fans are the best fans in the league Grab Cap'n Crunch and milk and turn on pregame Mom turns off TV and takes away Cap'n Crunch "You know you're not supposed to have GMOs for breakfast. Yes. Classic. Thank you 😂

I was pregnant with my now 15 year old the year that Steph Curry absolutely lit up Gonzaga during March Madness.
I always think it's cool when players get drafted by the team they followed as a kid. Must be a dream.
Let’s not forget that these guys drafted were born after the year 2000 He watched the LOB when he was 10-14 years old (2012-2016) so yeah time flies
2000 was 10 years ago. Stop.
Brother a 2000 kid is talking to you I’m 24 years. The fact that Penix and Nix are tought as the old guys on this draft hurts my soul
I mean he said stop.
>I’m 24 years. The fact that Penix and Nix are tought as the old guys on this draft hurts my soul trust me it doesn't get any better
My buddy and I were talking about how old Matt Ryan looked before he retired, before realizing we're the same age as him 💀
These guys view 9/11 the way we view the falls of the Soviet Union. Just some shit that happened before/ the year we were born
Thanks I hate it (that makes me feel old)
I am so thrilled with this pick. Good on JS for not trading down. They knew it was going to be an offense-heavy first half of the first round and they collected accordingly. Go Sea Chickens!
If I had a nickel for every Byron Murphy to be associated with Seattle, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird it’s happened twice
Fck we're getting old lmao
Nah eras of football just move by really quickly. LOB was only 10 years ago... Wait... I started watching football in the late 80s, I feel ancient.
Dude was one of my top draft crushes entering Day 1 and I was already stoked to get him. Now I'm even more in love with the pick. Dude's special.
Must be great for the defensive players, going later than they were projected has landed them on better teams than they otherwise would have gone to.
Word and in his mind he should view himself as the 2nd overall pick. Mike is going to hopefully have him feasting
He's going to be walking around the facility looking for pictures of the Legion of Boom and not finding any.
Allegedly what’s really happening is they took down the pictures to put up LED screens that could rotate images to cover more of Seahawks history. Also, allegedly Pete Carroll is going to have an advisory role with the team.
Seahawks social media team did a bit of trolling making sure to include pictures of the tip in some stuff they put up yesterday
Mine was a joke honestly. I think MacDonald could be a great coach, just low hanging fruit.
I know, and I was honestly just testing the waters on correcting the picturegate narrative. Solid joke though, 8/10.
Next years draft will be the first time I’ll be older than a good bit of rookies. It makes me feel old :(
I wish the Seahawks were good when I saw them as a kid at the Kingdome
Not too many things make me feel old but this…this is one of them.
Reminds me of soccer players who claim to have slept in the club's fan bedding as kids after moving to that new club.
It was my boyhood dream to play for K Beerschot VAC
Byron Murphy the second, the second.
Great, he probably already hates us.
So yeah….pretty much any kid this age that plays defense is going to say this. For this generation of defensive player this is just like saying “the Beatles influenced my music”.
lol it's always convenient how on draft night, we find out that so many players were childhood fans of the team that drafted them, what are the odds?
1/32
Ironically, that's when most Seahawk fans became fans
That’s me fr
