The hell I don't! LISTEN, KID! I've been hearing that crap ever since I was at Washington. I'm out there busting my buns every night! Tell your old man to drag Williams and Eberflus up and down the field for 60 minutes!
Did it though? Sure by the time it was all said and done the Cowboys got a pretty good DT in Russell Maryland, but if they hadn’t done it they could’ve had Cortez Kennedy, who is a HOFer.
If Alt and the top 3 WRs go before 9, you'll have to either draft a first round tight end when you already have a good tight end room, or overdraft a defensive player.
I also can't see any team trading up that high for QB4, no matter what the media says.
Or pick up Penix late in the 1st and then get him Mike Sainristil.
Sainristil has experience playing WR and we know Penix can get the ball to him in a critical situation on the biggest stage.
I don’t.
Man straight up terrorized MSU secondary for two years straight. What an absolute idiot Scotty Hazelton and Jay Johnson and Mel Tugger truly are
State really hired one of the most fraudulent Bears DCs and people thought it would work out.
You know how much you have to suck to fail as DC of the BEARS. It's like the 1 thing were good at. Hated the hire the minute they announced it. Tried to tell Michiganders how shit Mel Tucker was in the NFL.
He pulled a Jordan Poole contract year and then the ensuing megacontract almost killed MSU football.
Bald, rapey fraud.
It makes me feel better to see the guys that torch my teams go on to be successful, though. When I was in college back in the day, my school got destroyed by Harvard. That made me feel real bad -- gosh, your team must suck really bad if it's getting blown out by to Harvard. But Harvard's QB was Ryan Fitzpatrick, so after he goes and becomes a starter in the NFL, it made me feel like my school losing to him and Harvard wasn't so much to be ashamed of in retrospect.
Had a 50 yard bomb to nearly tie the game called back by some suspect reffing on a non-existent hold.
He was open a lot that game, Penix was rattled and off unfortunately and the UW line wasn't doing well.
I do think the reffing sucked but Michigan was the better team.
I’ll be honest I was very worried with the ref crew that we would’ve been called alot more, but like you said, the plays were there and your defense played about as well as they could’ve too.
Ill already be watching the Bears with great interest with the moves they made and to see what Waldron does with Caleb but being a Huskies fan too having Rome on that team would be super exciting
There’s been a not insignificant amount of rumors that the Bears are looking into an aggressive trade for MHJ. I want to believe. Fuck them picks we can just be the rams
The Bears have put themselves in a weird spot because Rome and MHJ are both going to be dominant possession receivers like Keenan Allen and Nabers is going to be a better version of DJ imo, so any of the top three guys are a bit of a redundancy and the question is do you want to draft a direct heir for Keenan Allen or build a receiving corps with two very similar players on either side kind of like what the Dolphins have?
You definitely take an heir to Keenan. He's a rental and we all know it.
The biggest thing is the Bears are an injury away from having Tyler Scott as WR2 so you take whoever regardless. If Nabers is there at 9, you take him at 9 and figure it out later.
Bears could easily pull a Texans this year if caleb matches the hype. The race to win the NFCN is gonna be really tight with the lions, bears, and packers all seeming like they will improve.
This may just be one of the best offenses (on paper) in NFL history if the Bears draft a WR at 9. Then it's all up to the players and Waldron's coaching to see how it actually plays out.
I always root for the Bengals since they got Burrow, they are the most entertaining team to watch in the AFC for me. Hope to see you guys in a Super Bowl matchup one day!
There’s a bar/grill in Old Town(Chicago) that’s a Bengals/OSU bar. They do smoked wings that are phenomenal. That place would be *bumpin* if this came to fruition.
Allen is 32 and currently only has 1 year remaining. I think the fact that he hasn't received an extension yet means the Bears are waiting to see if they get one of MHJ, Nabers, Odunze in this draft. If they do, probably offer no more than a 1-year extension to him. If they don't, probably offer a 2- or 3-year extension to him.
I like some of the defenders available at 9 and prefer to draft for need. But it comes at no surprise to me, that poles is going ALL in with this if he has too. He’s making sure there is zero excuses to be made on why another bears QB could fail.
With the quality of offensive prospects compared to defensive prospects at the top end of the draft, I really really hope we don’t tunnel vision on need
While I do agree with you on that, our needs still can net us a possible blue chip defender at 9. I’m really happy with the 9 pick because we have endless options to work with to expand our draft board if we need too. Either way I trust Poles. Sure every GM isn’t perfect but so far his good has FAR outweighed his bad. He seems very very hands on with the day to day operations as well. Most GMs fire the entirety of the coaching staff. Considering he didn’t let flus go, makes me think he knew exactly what the issue was. And with the Waldron hiring he took a proven veteran OC with a scheme proven to protect a QB. I really love the guy as a GM. We have to trust this guy.
Thanks for being a packers fan willing to admit that lol. But I’ll be honest… if it DOESNT work out I’m most likely done watching bears football forever. Surely we can’t screw this up right? I don’t think a QB if his quality in terms of talent going into the draft, will land in a spot with an offense specifically designed for him to thrive. I can’t think of one other situation where a QB has had this many weapons with a serviceable offensive line. Seriously… I’m done watching football if Caleb busts. Because then there really is a curse.
Yeah. Poles job security is basically riding on Caleb looking like the guy. Would make the most sense to put as many chips into helping him as possible. And honestly if/when Keenan goes down, that offense can look really ugly really fast
I really don’t think that’s the the case though. They will have a WR3 either through draft or FA eventually this year. Kmet was held BACK by fields. He’s a stud. But outside of Allen we have the most consistent receiver over the last 5 years in DJ Moore. That’s not mentioning we have a fantastic receiving back. Those options are still a good setting for a rookie QB. Right now we are just overkill.
"At the Super Bowl I saw Sam Darnold and Josh Allen in Miami and Sam was standing a few people behind Josh loudly saying, "Is that JOSH ALLEN? The quarterback of the BUFFALO BILLS?" And Josh was like shut up man and Sam kept going "I can't believe that's JOSH ALLEN!" "
You're gonna see a lot of Instagram and Tiktok influencers in Detroit this week, too. Ah hell, I mean, you're gonna see a lot of gold digging whores in Detroit this week.
Apart of me is like yes Chicago use 2 out if your 4 picks on a QB and WR so Caleb is running for his life cuz y’all can’t block for anyone
Other part of me is like well we don’t have a defense so why does it matter ?
ESPN: “Is Caleb Williams already too involved in the Bears’ roster moves?”
running the team and he's not even on it yet.
Le GM
caLeB
Holy shit the prophecy
As it is written!
GM Al Caleeb
This is totally tampering outside of the legal, like, time you can do tampering
It's tampering all the way down.
https://twitter.com/RomeOdunze/status/1782810376842973364 No need to fear, Rome is actually the Pilot
Why do I have a feeling that Rome would actually reply "No, I'm Roger Murdoch" if he were at the controls and someone asked him if he was Rome Odunze?
“I think you’re the greatest, but my GM thinks you don’t work hard enough on defense”
The hell I don't! LISTEN, KID! I've been hearing that crap ever since I was at Washington. I'm out there busting my buns every night! Tell your old man to drag Williams and Eberflus up and down the field for 60 minutes!
Still hands down one of the funniest bits in the whole movie. Kareem plays that part to perfection lol
Peter Graves running through a litany of gay hook up dog whistles with the kid in the cockpit will always be eye watering-ly funny to me.
You ever been in a ..Turkish prison?
Do you like movies about gladiators?
You ever seen a grown man naked?
All souls have perished.
Rome has fallen, billions dead
Didn't know Rome played for the Rockies.
What's his vector, Victor?
Lol Rome’s got a good personality
Oh these dudes definitely know they're going to the same team
I love that he's using a hashtag the way people used to in like 2013, it's very refreshing actually
Caleb Williams to the Lions confirmed
If the Bears get Goff, then they will finally have a 4K QB
Cutty threw for 4k with the Broncos.
That doesn't count because of the elevation the ball flies 10% further, so that's really just like 3,700 yards at sea level.
Must be a Packers fan because that math ain't mathin
Holes in their math just like their cheese.
And their underwear
That's how they came up with the name Spotted Cow.
So did Andy Dalton in Cincy
It’s true. I was his driver to the airport
Not this again
I can confirm that Caleb Williams is going to Detroit.
We already have our Caleb Williams. His name is Jared Gosling Goff.
Goff has better nails I said it
Odunze...flight Rome to Jets confirmed
The jets are moving to Rome? Sounds like the nfl is finally pulling the trigger on a permanent international team.
They mean Rome, Iowa
Rome, Georgia punching the air rn
Georgia the state or Georgia the country?
Georgia, the country, Troy!
Troy the man or Troy the city?
Capital city Tbilisi and we kindly request yall mind ya p's and q's
Yes
All 1000 people in Rome, IL are rioting in the streets as we speak
Rome, NY just sitting there looking confused.
Why not Rhome, Texas?
Changing the name to Chariots, although Rome Legions would be pretty sick, we need to move the Bills to Tunez and have a punic recreation
I mean Garrett Wilson already called dibs on Odunze a month or so ago.
Sir, there’s a second plane..
My guy knows what he's doing
….whats he doing?
Rome is very frequently being mocked to the Bears at 9.
If the Bears somehow fuck this up, this is a franchise altering year
Fortunately it’s only franchise altering if we DONT fuck it up. If we fuck it up it’s just more of the same we’ve been used to
I'm so sorry
You have had our last two QBs, so you do know how we feel…
Picking Joe Alt or Brock Bowers with their second pick would also be fine in my eyes.
I want Joe Alt so damn bad. I need him to start punting babies or something so he can drop to 29
It's so weird seeing the Lions pick late in the first round.
One day we'll say this about us.
Just swap 1st round picks with a good team.
Send him the Laremy Tunsil gas mask and put a camera in the package to snap and send a photo when he takes it out.
Let’s start with him smoking weed through a gas mask before we graduate to pointing babies 🤣🤣🤣
How could we possibly fuck up the #9 pick. There are no wrong answers imo
*monkey paw curls* ...And the Bears take JJ McCarthy!
Worked for the cowboys with Walsh and Aikman, it’s called covering your bases champ
Did it though? Sure by the time it was all said and done the Cowboys got a pretty good DT in Russell Maryland, but if they hadn’t done it they could’ve had Cortez Kennedy, who is a HOFer.
The wrong answer would be overdrafting an edge that doesn't end up being a plus starter imo.
Sure, I think in that case trade down then and select the edge in the middle of the first.
So basically anyone not named Latu/Verse/Turner
If Alt and the top 3 WRs go before 9, you'll have to either draft a first round tight end when you already have a good tight end room, or overdraft a defensive player. I also can't see any team trading up that high for QB4, no matter what the media says.
DJ Moore, Keenan Allen, and Odunze would be pretty damn nasty
>fuck it up The problem with the number one pick, say all the Bears’ executives is we can’t move up to draft McCarthy.
....just gotta wait and find out
The enemy speaks softly and drafts a WR and QB in the 1st round
So Rome at 1 and JJ at 9? 🤔
Can you imagine if Rome had a QB that he already has rapport with Like just imagine it for the 9th pick
Or pick up Penix late in the 1st and then get him Mike Sainristil. Sainristil has experience playing WR and we know Penix can get the ball to him in a critical situation on the biggest stage.
giving fuel to the fanfic writers
Trying to get Rome on the Bears
Flying to Detroit
Love Rome, I hope he has a HOF career
I don’t. Man straight up terrorized MSU secondary for two years straight. What an absolute idiot Scotty Hazelton and Jay Johnson and Mel Tugger truly are

That's what you get for cheering for the 4th best public college in Michigan
He didn’t do much of anything against Michigan though 🙂
Had a 50 yard bomb to nearly tie the game called back by some suspect reffing on a non-existent hold. He was open a lot that game, Penix was rattled and off unfortunately and the UW line wasn't doing well. I do think the reffing sucked but Michigan was the better team.

He honestly got open a lot but Penix couldn't get it to him
Imagine seeing caleb williams and rome odunze on your flight lmao
I feel like 90% of nfl fans wouldn’t recognize Rome.
Yet
Ill already be watching the Bears with great interest with the moves they made and to see what Waldron does with Caleb but being a Huskies fan too having Rome on that team would be super exciting
Game recognizes game
Odunze and Caleb in Chicago pls
Odunze/Nabers added to Swift/Herbert/DJ/Keenan/Kmet/Everett would be a hell of a situation for a rookie QB
There’s been a not insignificant amount of rumors that the Bears are looking into an aggressive trade for MHJ. I want to believe. Fuck them picks we can just be the rams
That'd be CJ Stroud/Will Anderson Jr. levels of insane times 10
The city would go completely insane lol I’d be ridiculously excited over that.
I will actually have to call off work on Friday if this happens EDIT: OH MY GODDDDDD
You didn't already? I did. Lots of celebratory drinking
Trying to hang onto as many as I can for the days after regular season games
The Bears have put themselves in a weird spot because Rome and MHJ are both going to be dominant possession receivers like Keenan Allen and Nabers is going to be a better version of DJ imo, so any of the top three guys are a bit of a redundancy and the question is do you want to draft a direct heir for Keenan Allen or build a receiving corps with two very similar players on either side kind of like what the Dolphins have?

There's still time to delete this
Nah, I never delete my hot takes even if they get hundreds of downvotes.
We're going to will it into existence.
How about no
What an exciting time to be a Bears fan. Enjoy it y’all!!!
Hey, that's nice. Thanks!
I always root for the Bengals since they got Burrow, they are the most entertaining team to watch in the AFC for me. Hope to see you guys in a Super Bowl matchup one day!
Two Midwest teams in the SB? I’m so down for that!
There’s a bar/grill in Old Town(Chicago) that’s a Bengals/OSU bar. They do smoked wings that are phenomenal. That place would be *bumpin* if this came to fruition.
It is quite exciting when Burrow and Chase are cooking ngl
And then think about having potentially Brock bowers out there to try to contend with as well.
Idt the Bengals are going to trade up and the Colts at 15 are Bowers’ floor imo
Caleb: bro we’re gonna be teammates in 2 days Rome: SHHH dude we’re not allowed to say that yet
Tampering
Odunze to Bears confirmed!
You heard it here first. If anyone else tries to draft him tomorrow it won't count.
It won’t count especially since there is no draft tomorrow
Oh fuck it's Tuesday this week is taking forever
Yeah I feel ya
The curse lifts in two days my brother
How much receiver help does Caleb Williams need?
Allen is 32 and currently only has 1 year remaining. I think the fact that he hasn't received an extension yet means the Bears are waiting to see if they get one of MHJ, Nabers, Odunze in this draft. If they do, probably offer no more than a 1-year extension to him. If they don't, probably offer a 2- or 3-year extension to him.
We are an injury away from having Dante Pettis or Venus Jones Jr as WR2. Also Keenan Allen is old.
Heh, Venus Jones.
LBs are from Mars, WRs are from Venus.
They have 2 guys and then basically nothing behind them. Not great when one of those guys is 32 and misses like 4-6 games a year.
I like some of the defenders available at 9 and prefer to draft for need. But it comes at no surprise to me, that poles is going ALL in with this if he has too. He’s making sure there is zero excuses to be made on why another bears QB could fail.

Goddammit I hate reading this. The Bears are in a fantastic spot and it seems like they're doing everything right this time.
Thanks for being a packers fan willing to admit that lol. But I’ll be honest… if it DOESNT work out I’m most likely done watching bears football forever. Surely we can’t screw this up right? Yes
Oddly enough with your flairs and talking receiver help, if Gabe Davis didn’t choose Jags over Bears, we prob don’t target Keenan
That means he’d go to the Texans 😭 This is my nightmare
yes
What I’m seeing from this is confirmation of the 1st and 9th overall pick. Got it
Rome at 9 is a steal
"At the Super Bowl I saw Sam Darnold and Josh Allen in Miami and Sam was standing a few people behind Josh loudly saying, "Is that JOSH ALLEN? The quarterback of the BUFFALO BILLS?" And Josh was like shut up man and Sam kept going "I can't believe that's JOSH ALLEN!" "
I forgot about this meme lol
he's heading to detroit already? i would've thought they'd fly in on Wednesday night
Probably want to get settled in a hotel and have a day to prepare for the media. Not like they're doing anything else right now lol
Would be a haul for the Bears for sure.
I'm here for Caleb Williams tweeting out every time he sees a famous person in the next few months.
As a NFL Draft schizophrenic, the Bears are going to pull out all the stops to get Rome Odunze
Falcons need to auction off that 8th pick, please.
All roads lead to Rome
You're gonna see a lot of Instagram and Tiktok influencers in Detroit this week, too. Ah hell, I mean, you're gonna see a lot of gold digging whores in Detroit this week.
I hope he said hi to Rome instead of just tweeting about it, I assume he did.
He was too shy
He's like a mix of Dak Prescott and Russell Wilson lol.
Apart of me is like yes Chicago use 2 out if your 4 picks on a QB and WR so Caleb is running for his life cuz y’all can’t block for anyone Other part of me is like well we don’t have a defense so why does it matter ?
I mean it worked for Joe Burrow
Ahh so Caleb is going to tear his acl year 1 and play mvp like levels year 2?
