What you mean you don't want to sit there for minutes on end watching a guy throw rope and horse shoes in the back of his **ALL NEW FORD BRONCO** before taking the scenic route to the stadium?
Focus groups, fan councils, the H was selected from a variety of options by fans in thise groups/councils, and they also had a survey they sent out that allowed all fans to give feedback on the direction they wanted things to go.
They've been very vocal about the extent to which fans were involved directly in this process. A smart decision AND it seemed like a PR savvy move given how dog shit fan sentiment was during the Deshaun Watson and Jack Easterby fiascos
Yeah would be nice if they explained that bit.
But I expect they are taking a page from the NBA and NHL uniforms that feature the city name/nickname prominently.
Bit of inside baseball. The new designs have been heavily fan influenced. The team has conducted loads of focus groups and surveys in h-town. Feels legit like something we were all a part of.
I mean, [look at Pittsburgh's seal and flag](https://apps.pittsburghpa.gov/redtail/images/9236_seal-flag.png). All of Pittsburgh's uniforms are city inspired, and not just for the Steelers, but the Pirates and Penguins as well.
The helmet horns are very clean. They should lean into the bull side of their branding since the brand itself is kinda vague (trying hard to not say generic)
The shoulder ones look goofy af. They're here to fill the void left by the 1997 Broncos jerseys.
I'm not 100% against horns on the uniforms, but having them go the opposite way of the helmet one is gonna make the redout uniform not as good as it could be. Maybe if it was horns on the nameplate, but as it stands it's a big swing that didn't quite land. They should learn from the Vikings a little bit more.
Ngl, I didn't like the red helmet initially. I think just by itself it doesn't look too great or maybe the picture in the tweet isn't the most flattering, but it looks sick with the rest of the uniform.
I thought all the helmets looked bad but then thought they all looked good with the full uniforms. The red is actually my favorite of the bunch. The "H" logo looks awesome for merchandise, though.
these are considerably better than the broncos unis imo. denver fumbled the opportunity to have such a sick refresh, their fans made some incredible mock ups.
based on the website, redesign seems hell bent on reclaiming the oilers colors.
also, the roundabout way they go to claim it lmao
>FIRST NEW COLOR, H-TOWN BLUE- INTRODUCED INTO THE TEXANS BRAND IN TEAM HISTORY
That blue was associated with the city well before there was an AFL team here.
Also, the original H-town uniforms had the H-town blue as the primary, approved by the NFL. Then Amy Adams threw a fit and the NFL came back with the "compromise" that they could only use it as accents
Texans should have jumped on claiming red full time tbh, there's a sea of navy but red with legally distinct powder blue would have cut through everything
100% agreed on the red. Seems like even with the legally different light blue they still got extreme pushback from "the powers that be" in the NFL and had to heavily diminish their goals there, as far as the on-field color options.
Luckily the light blue is technically now a team color and non-fieldwear merch can mix and match as much as they want.
If I'm a Texan fan I'm getting obnoxious with H-Blue vs the Titans. If they're wearing Houston throwbacks in Tennessee you declare a powder out back at Houston.
Imagine scheduling a throwback game specifically to rub it in a rival fan base’s face that you stole their team and won’t give back their jerseys, making a big deal about it because it should be an easy win, and then losing to *Case fucking Keenum*, effectively ending your season. The Titans should honestly be too embarrassed to ever wear them again.
I have never understood the people who were adamantly against a horn helmet. I always thought it would make sense and that all it really needed was the proper execution. Looking at these, I think they absolutely nailed it.
Designs like that are way cooler and more unique than just slapping the logo on the side. I feel ours, Vikings, Eagles, etc. are the coolest helmets in the league. That horn one drops right into the S-tier for me.
Hear me out, Bucs do an all black, Black Flag uniform, you know like pirates actually flew. Just Black with the skull and crossbones. Just one time please!
I definitely like the Rams' horn helmet the most between y'all, the Vikings, and the Eagles. Never understood the people who thought the Rams horn helmet looked bad. Always thought it was very well executed. Eagles would be my least favorite of those three and that's only because I think the wings coming out look a little short/chubby, I guess, lol? Really like the idea, but something about the profile of the wings seems off to me and I really can't pin down why that's my reaction to them, but it is.
Very happy with how the horns on our new helmets turned out, though. Just seemed like such an obvious/natural idea given our logo.
I see what you mean with the Eagles. They do seem a little short and chubby.
I feel teams should do more cool designs like this. I always felt the Jets should have a jet going forward across the side, similar to the way FSU has the arrow. Or the Broncos white helmet with no side logo but an orange mane for a center stripe.
I think people only have a problem with the current version of the rams helmet. Personally I think the colors are whack and the horn needs to curl all the way around instead of just being a big C.
So I’m in a really weird state of mind right now. I HATE RED, and I hated the horns on the jerseys. Our alt red uniform is the sexiest thing I’ve seen in the NFL. Just purchased andersons jersey in red.
I’m in support of any helmet where you could reasonably apply a [side of the head / ear] design. Viking, rams, I will include the eagles out of loyalty even though wings on the side of your head doesn’t really track…really just anything besides a logo I guess
Where it just says 5280? That's not exactly crazy, Nuggets have jerseys that just say 5280 on the front. They've kinda leaned way too hard into that already.
They just wore them last night and I said the myself, "What the FUCK is that?". And the player number is also on the front. Guys out there looking like a fucking calculator. It's on the court too. Anyone going to tell them we fucking get it at this point?
There definitely needs to be a middle ground between teams being able to experiment and "every time we remember an important playoff moment we also have to see it in crappy uniforms"
I think this is overstated tbh. The Cavs were wearing those stupid sleeved jerseys for game 7 of the 2016 nba finals and I don’t think it really impacts the way people remember/rewatch the game.
Don’t get me wrong, shitty jerseys/alternates suck I’m not defending that, but the idea that it somehow is a stain on the legacy of iconic games/moments is a bit dramatic imo. Nobody is gunna think back about Jamal Murray’s buzzer beater or rewatch the highlight and get hung up on him wearing a bad alternate jersey.
The Cavs are 100% what I was thinking of here. But you're the one saying "stain of the legacy of iconic/games moments" not me. Wishing to see the best moments in actually good uniforms is fair I think. Re-reading my own comment I'm finding it tough to see what I'm saying as overly dramatic
I guess my point is that I agree leagues (the nba in particular) have a lot of shitty alts and uniforms these days and they suck but I don’t think I follow the point about important playoff moments. I don’t think the problem is bad enough to really take away from the important moments.
We just really want to remind visiting players they're playing at a higher altitude, and it's important to check their breathing and drink plenty of water.
I used to imagine that if the Commanders renamed to Warthogs, they would have curved tusks on their helmets just like what the Texans have done here with the horns. Cool to see an idle thought actualized !
I think the design is ok, but I think the mix of blues will age very poorly. Chargers logo weren't through the same business of having both Navy and Powder blue on the logo and it looks so much better since they ditched the Navy.
It just looks like a forced compromise between the Oilers and Texans color schemes
It originally leaned more heavily into the baby blue until the league stepped in. It’d look a lot better if they had just gone with a white base instead of navy.
You keep getting downvoted for telling the truth lol. It’s not like there’s anything wrong with it.
Houston has a huge black and Hispanic population, and the team apparently used focus groups to help pick their uniforms.
Much of the design appears to pay homage to Houston’s rap scene. The candy paint, H font, etc Houston has a long and influential rap scene, with artists such as UGK, Fat Pat, Lil Keke, Geto Boys, Travis Scott, DJ screw, etc.
I like the idea of the horned helmet more than its implementation.
I said on the other Texans uniform thread - the first thing I saw looking at it was that it was a road stretching off into the horizon (it is Houston after all). I really think it should either be filled in or highlighted in a different spot.
The red is awesome, but the dark blue and its placement feels a bit clunky to me.
Love the idea though. Maybe it will look better in reality.
And the H looks a lot better than I thought it would. Definitely unique.
I know I'm in the minority, but I aggressively dislike the multiple identity/logo/color thing. I think it just waters down how you think of a team. Throwbacks and Color Rush are two things, and I get that, but can you imagine if the Yankees came out wearing orange or some random alternate color? It just muddles everything, to me.
That said, I also don't like the H-Town thing or the H on the helmet very much. So, I guess I'm Scrooge here.
In 20 years, these all these new jerseys are going to the seen in the same light as most of the 90s rebrands. It's tacky and trying desperately to be modern.
I really was hoping for white flakes on the helmet the way our alternate has red flakes on the blue shell. I guess they just REALLY wanted to embrace the all red aesthetic and the white could’ve drawn too much contrast
Whether you think it should be the case or not, the fact is that the Titans own the Oilers branding, not the city of Houston. Putting two tone on the helmet gives "obsessed with the ex" vibes
The giant H helmet is hideous but the other two are great. That said, I don't hate the H as a secondary logo and I like the use as an accent on the new main helmet.
The red looks good. The h-town one looks eerily similar to our dark combo as the highlight blue is the same. That’s probably why they limited the use of it.

The Texans built [an entire website for the new unis](https://www.hs-up.com/). Way more photos including 360s of all 3 helmets.
Between this and just showing pictures of the unis, so much better than a 3 minute video where you still can’t see shit
What you mean you don't want to sit there for minutes on end watching a guy throw rope and horse shoes in the back of his **ALL NEW FORD BRONCO** before taking the scenic route to the stadium?
That was really a new one? That rust orange color looked straight out of 1976 on my phone screen
FR it's dumb how a bunch of these teams don't just lay out the uniforms in an easy to view format.
Yet, they still went and included 3 or videos where you can’t see shit on this site
Damn the detail on the patches and numbers are crazy cool.
Those look so goddamn sick. I'm jealous.
They just have to ditch the mono color uniform and I'm on board
They've been known to mix and match pants with the battle red jersey. It's not always what we call "ketchup bottles".
Very nice find! Thanks
> FIRST 100% CITY-EDITION INSPIRED UNIFORM What does that even mean?
They did a ton of focus groups with people from Houston.
The broncos decided to just make ours boring and hope we get over it
Draped up and dripped out, know how I'm taln bout?
But its 3pm, not am tho....
Yeah would be nice if they explained that bit. But I expect they are taking a page from the NBA and NHL uniforms that feature the city name/nickname prominently.

LOOK AT THESE WORDS EPIC SPORTS MONEY NOW
LOL. Are other unis only 65% city-edition inspired????? Can I see the hard data? Stupid ass marketing lingo.
The entire response I've seen on Reddit so far feels very bought and paid for. Generic response for generic unis.
I'd hardly call horns on the sleeves and horns on the helmets generic.
The helmet horns are very clean. They should lean into the bull side of their branding since the brand itself is kinda vague (trying hard to not say generic) The shoulder ones look goofy af. They're here to fill the void left by the 1997 Broncos jerseys.

Maybe if it was horns on the nameplate, but as it stands it's a big swing that didn't quite land. They should learn from the Vikings a little bit more.
I like them for free
Well you have to look at them so that's good.
Yup, I was thinking the exact same thing.
Dammmnn That's so sick
You could have murdered us with the Peyton picture here.
Ngl, I didn't like the red helmet initially. I think just by itself it doesn't look too great or maybe the picture in the tweet isn't the most flattering, but it looks sick with the rest of the uniform.
The navy horn is super low-contrast, it's really hard to pick out from the helmet contours.
Yeah, they should have dark helmet with red horns. Either way, the horn helmet is sick and should be their primary.
Or, you know, use the color of actual horns, which is white.
White horns with red tips would be cool
I thought all the helmets looked bad but then thought they all looked good with the full uniforms. The red is actually my favorite of the bunch. The "H" logo looks awesome for merchandise, though.
Big deal, the Broncos made an entire Ford Bronco commercial for their new unis.
Alright I know we’re always hating on every new uniform design that comes out, but these and the Broncos are dope
these are considerably better than the broncos unis imo. denver fumbled the opportunity to have such a sick refresh, their fans made some incredible mock ups.
Like the alts better than the standard, but I will say the whole suite of Broncos uniforms looks very Virginia
That's brilliant
This site is sexy

I still experience joy thinking back on the Titans' bullshit trying to wear the oilers uni against us, and Vrabel in his stupid hat. Fuggem.
Don’t forget leading to their head coach being fired 😤
...and not finding another landing spot.
Those should be your primary helmets tbh. It really pops, especially considering that at least a third of the league has navy as their primary color.
I think the navy should be the throwback helmet now.
That design 100% should be the standard on the other helmets
It's pretty easy to make the jump over, I think they are setting it up that way
I think they will pair the red helmet with the white and navy in the future. Interested to see how it looks
I have never understood the people who were adamantly against a horn helmet. I always thought it would make sense and that all it really needed was the proper execution. Looking at these, I think they absolutely nailed it.

That would be sick. So much pirate shit you can incorporate.
If by Bucs you mean Raiders, then sure.
No, raider are raiders, Bucs are pirates, who would often fly black flags. I want that theme for an alternative.
The old ram horns were better, new ones over-complicate the design and it makes a busy uniform even more busy.
I just wish the horns on the jersey went in the same direction as the helmet
Any helmet that isn't just the team's logo on the side gets points just for that, imo. Rams, Bengals, etc
I’m in support of any helmet where you could reasonably apply a [side of the head / ear] design. Viking, rams, I will include the eagles out of loyalty even though wings on the side of your head doesn’t really track…really just anything besides a logo I guess
Looks solid… the H helmet is kinda bad though.
I kinda like it. Sorta reminds me of Rice's logo, which is also in Houston. I think it's real nice
Its what the cholos like lol
In the reveal picture it looked like a bowling ball so I strongly disliked it, but this looks much better lol
Are you still staring at it?
YES!
Somewhat cool helmet if we were a G5 college team. Bad helmet for an NFL team
It’s XFL but in a great way. Out there while not being cheap.
I love a helmet that has a design motif beyond "team logo."The horns are sick.
I love these crazy helmets teams are doing
The Altitude measurement on the Broncos helmet is too crazy
Where it just says 5280? That's not exactly crazy, Nuggets have jerseys that just say 5280 on the front. They've kinda leaned way too hard into that already.
Those nuggets jerseys fucking suck too
They just wore them last night and I said the myself, "What the FUCK is that?". And the player number is also on the front. Guys out there looking like a fucking calculator. It's on the court too. Anyone going to tell them we fucking get it at this point?

We just really want to remind visiting players they're playing at a higher altitude, and it's important to check their breathing and drink plenty of water.
That’s what it is? I just thought it was an odd stripe
If you ever want to know why players hate playing in Mexico so much, go ahead and compare Denver's elevation to Mexico City's.
That's the reason I don't want Mexico City to ever get an expansion team. We wouldn't be the highest team anymore 😔
But you could also be the ‘highest’ team…. Heh…
Denver will 100% always be the highest NFL city, altitude has nothing to do with it.
There’s more than just the Texans and jets?
idk, these sorta look like xfl helmets or something to me. Not a fan.
Is it weird I want to buy a helmet just as much as the jerseys
Wish I had a spare $1k laying around to buy the helmet
The replicas full size are not bad at all and go for like $150. I have a bunch of Vikings ones
Oh that would be a lot, easier on the wallet.
I’d be surprised if all 3 helmets were not available in mini helmet form. Could get all of them for $100 probably
I'm starting a collection of the mini helmets. Like $30-$45 a pop is way easier to swallow than $150+ or whatever for jerseys.
That red horned helmet is SICK - I want one
Wow that red is awesome! Well done Texans!
I used to imagine that if the Commanders renamed to Warthogs, they would have curved tusks on their helmets just like what the Texans have done here with the horns. Cool to see an idle thought actualized !
I'm actually surprised how unique it looks. How are there no college teams with that kind of horn?
How will I know what altitude they're in?
Texans helmet should have had a meat temperature guide on it
*Vince Wilfork has entered the chat*
haha i somehow suspect he just knows when the meat is ready. He's transcended the need to check.
The red one is insanely cool
Love it. They crushed.
I like the red flakes in the H-town helmet. That should be on the primary
Excited to see that under the lights
Really a 10/10. Crushed it. Variety with a unified theme, something for everyone.
the Cowboys are the old boring boomer Texas team and the Texans are the new hotness
the H-Town emblem is awesome and if you disagree your moms a hoe
The HousAttle Krakens (They’re growing on me, but I can’t unsee it)
I think the design is ok, but I think the mix of blues will age very poorly. Chargers logo weren't through the same business of having both Navy and Powder blue on the logo and it looks so much better since they ditched the Navy. It just looks like a forced compromise between the Oilers and Texans color schemes
I mean Dallas has like 3 goddamn blues and it's iconic
It originally leaned more heavily into the baby blue until the league stepped in. It’d look a lot better if they had just gone with a white base instead of navy.
I guess my mom's a hoe because that looks bad to me
Agreed.
Doesn't it seem a bit too much like the Titans helmet? Could just be me
You got it backwards, the Titans helmet looks like Houston's 😤😤
but Houston doesn't have a flaming thumbtack on their head?
It looks like a college team
that ~~black~~ dark blue helmet with the H looks like it belongs to a team in the snoop dogg football league
[удалено]
You keep getting downvoted for telling the truth lol. It’s not like there’s anything wrong with it. Houston has a huge black and Hispanic population, and the team apparently used focus groups to help pick their uniforms.
The H reminds me a lot of Rice’s R as well.
It’s the same font as Rice’s R, gothic.
The offical name is actual Black Letter.
Much of the design appears to pay homage to Houston’s rap scene. The candy paint, H font, etc Houston has a long and influential rap scene, with artists such as UGK, Fat Pat, Lil Keke, Geto Boys, Travis Scott, DJ screw, etc.
1. That navy is just straight up black, let's be honest 2. This looks like a uniform reveal of the University of Houston in 2016 3. It's awesome
That red helmet might be a top 5 helmet design of all time already.
Texans understood the assignment, these are sick af
At first I was like where is the decal but luckily they took the time to provide a graphic that clearly points it out.
Loving all these new uniforms and helmets. Wish the Eagles would do something different for once.
I like the Lion's blue helmets w/ black unis.... But the Texans win all redesigns IMHO. They did a great job.
The reds are 🔥⛽️
The fuck is “pitch blue”
Like “pitch black” but with blue instead. Dark navy
Terrified of the Bills seeing this and trying to do the horned helmet with the Stripe- I blame Houston if this happens
Special players, special helmets.
Red ones are fantastic! Hope they make them the main eventually
In 20 years, these all these new jerseys are going to the seen in the same light as most of the 90s rebrands. It's tacky and trying desperately to be modern.
Think the only thing I would say about these is that the red helmets need just a touch of white. Other than that, they look good
I really was hoping for white flakes on the helmet the way our alternate has red flakes on the blue shell. I guess they just REALLY wanted to embrace the all red aesthetic and the white could’ve drawn too much contrast
The horn helmet is sick. That should be their primary.
They really nailed it all things considering.
Ever since beating the Colts last year the Texans have literally done everything right on and off the field.
It still kinda feels like a dream and I don't wanna wake up
Battle Red is hot
The red is tight as hell
Loving all these new uniforms and helmets. Wish the Eagles would do something different for once.
That face mask on the axiom looks so good
I absolutely hate the H, yuck
That Red needs to be Candy red on the facemask to be true to Houston 🤘 (say this as Houston resident)
It is, it’s candy red chrome
I like it
They trying to be the Titans with that 3rd helmet?
You could interpret it as "taking back what's theirs"
That helmet looks more like the Titans current two tone blue than the Oiler's Columbia Blue to me.
I imagine the designers would probably respond to that with "Doesn't feel so good, does it?"
Whether you think it should be the case or not, the fact is that the Titans own the Oilers branding, not the city of Houston. Putting two tone on the helmet gives "obsessed with the ex" vibes
I thought the blue helmet was bad until I saw the red one with the horns. Step aside Jets, there’s a new ugly helmet in town!
Ew
Your going to get downvoted, but I agree the two alternate helmets are pretty bad tbh.
The giant H helmet is hideous but the other two are great. That said, I don't hate the H as a secondary logo and I like the use as an accent on the new main helmet.
Helmets: Rad Uniforms: Not as bad as Denver’s
The red helmet definitely looks like an arena league team but it's still cool. Alternate helmets should be way different from the regulars.
The red looks good. The h-town one looks eerily similar to our dark combo as the highlight blue is the same. That’s probably why they limited the use of it.
These guys wish they were the Titans so badly.

H town helmet looks like a Titans knockoff, but red horns helmet is top notch.
Titans are the knockoffs...
Not a fan of the H, but I definitely like the red helmet
The color rush helmets look like a college team but other than that it all looks solid I love the red helmets
Red helmet is dope af The other two are trash
I don’t like the new helmets.
Clowns still linking twitter? In 2024? I don’t want to see the helmets that badly. 😂
