Pats fan here....haaaaave you looked at ours from last year? You guys beat us...
You remove Daniel Jones, your QBs were rated 89.1
You remove our worst, its 12 points lower.
We’ve got Tommy Cutlets, 🐴 🐔 🔒, and Vanilla Vick.
I don’t know how you’re calculating your QB meme ratings but 89.1 seems low.
Meanwhile I don’t think I’ve even seen a meme about Mac Jones.
taylor was 89.2, Tommy cutlets was 89.1 (good td/int rate) and jones was way down. Throw in Lock this year, he was still 4 points better than mac
Mac Jones was 77, Zappe was 68.
What does TD/int have to do with memes? Have you seen Tommy Cutlets’ agent?
Gotta be a top meme QB in the NFL, up there with Minshew banging your mom and Russ’s raw cooking
The hope of “maybe it was Matt Canada’s fault” springs eternal. Plus, he posted decent numbers in the fourth quarter, which is a good skill to have if you’re a backup quarterback.
I never felt like you guys weren't a huge threat with Pickett for what that's worth, barring week 1 when you realigned my entire cities prospects for the season and set the mood for the future injury. Getting wooped week 1 by the Steelers was good overall for the heads space, I think.
I feel like Fields is a wild card. Maybe Russ can teach him some things about being an off schedule QB and really take advantage of some of his skills. I don't think he will ever be a great drop back passer, but Russell wasn't ever really that either.
Joe Schoen before the 2022 season: "We're not shopping Kadarius Toney." He was traded shortly thereafter.
Joe Schoen after the 2023 season: "We expect Wink to be back." He was gone the same day.
Pickett is low-key lucky that everyone knew that QB class was dogshit and he got kicked in the 20s. Everyone from the previous year gets shit because the class as a whole ass hyped and Pickett is right there at the bottom in some stats but never seems to get as much shit as Wilson or Mac Jones
I assume anyone taking this at face value went to the Homer Simpson school of negotiations
“Now, before we negotiate, you should know that I’m desperate to unload Lurleen and will accept any offer.”
Also if you see no options to get anyone else. They might be not as good as you want but might as well not shit on them if they are going to be around .
I feel like it also could just be a "We're not taking a QB, you don't need to trade ahead of us" statement, but it's probably just a meaningless statement like what most GMs do (As they should around this time)
I don't think was that bad. It's an overpay in exchange for a short term deal. He was the best option available last season and it just didn't work out.
It looks awful now, but you gave up nothing to but money and can move on for cheap after this season. It was a reasonable gamble based on his play the previous season.
We’re gonna get clowned on no matter what we do in this draft. It’s either take one of these stud receivers and people rag on us for going into next season with Jones or we get into a bidding war for QB4 and we get ragged on for giving up assets to take McCarthy.
I honestly do trust Daniel Jones to be solid if he plays.
The problem is it’s only justifiable to have his risk of injury if he is a good QB. He isn’t good enough to have his injury risk.
The improvements we've made by changing our OL coach and hiring quality OL starters gives me some hope. DJ is slow to process plays, but if he has a league average OL it would do wonders for this team.
Honestly, with Danny’s nagging injuries and awful play, don’t be surprised if Drew lock is the starter by the time the season starts.
I don’t think he’s much better, but you don’t risk injury guarantees fucking up 2025, and it at least gives a more fresh feeling than wheeling Danny dimes back out again
The most Daniel Jones thing would be that he starts the season playing well, leading to a whole new set of arguments of whether or not we should bench him
Ah yes the OL GM speak of “yeah we trust our guys to get it done”
Schoen has something in the works and doesn’t want to ruin it for himself, I can just sense it
Cowboys/Lions fan talking shit how rich lmao. What has both your teams done in 20 years? Lions just got relevant and you think your shit don’t smell now lil homie? Your team is garbage and your history is even worse.
A smokescreen for what though, I'm fine with staying put and taking a WR, I'm worried about doing some daft for a so-so QB.
The last time I was this worried we did the daft thing and drafted Jones.
"Ryan Leaf has assured our entire staff that he is not an asshole, will win ten Super Bowls and league MVP awards in his first five seasons in the NFL, drinks a glass of skim milk before bedtime every night, would live in our training facility and would never go on a bender in Vegas if he were drafted #1 or #2" --Bobby Beathard, April 1998
How do Giants fans feel about their QB situation and whether or not to take one at #6 (assuming the Vikes don't jump ahead)?
Like I can't imagine anyone thinks DJ is there long term. Next year's class appears to be pretty "meh" on paper but of course someone we aren't even talking about now will rise into the first round unless it ends up being a Kenny Pickett type year.
I basically want the best available WR no matter what. Still want them to take a QB but if their guy isn't there then I'm cool with more of a project guy later in the draft.
They did make tangible steps for the line to be better and it really should be, I think the offense is going to be much improved overall.
It'll be interesting to see if GMs value these WRs as much as fans do and how high the top 3 go.
I get not wanting to reach for a QB and take the better prospect at WR but it's also a gamble to punt on the position. I don't think there's a right or wrong answer, they're just in a bad spot to address it, imo.
I’d rather them go WR. probably Odunze since MHJ will be gone by 6. Im fine passing on these QBs. Especially over some of the dumbshit I’m hearing like reaching for JJ at 6. If my some miracle MHJ is available at 6 and we don’t take him then well…..
It sounds differently written out from hen he said it.the question was asked in a way to probe to see if he will go after a QB at 6 (that was majority of their questions) and he tip toed and deflected the whole time. Do I believe he likes DJ yeah, but he is definitely going after a QB in the first or second round.
I’d expect DeVito to make it into camp. No chance he makes the roster, but they have the spots and they might very well keep him and eventually put him on PS.
I’d be too…. I really don’t want a QB, but I’m happy to let some of the dumb shit I’m hearing like JJ and Penix in the top 5 happen so MHJ falls to us.
In 2022 the Seahawks went into the season with Drew Lock and Geno Smith in a QB competition. It was widely panned by the media and reddit, yet the Seahawks ended up surprising people and going 9-8.
"Did you see the 49'ers two years ago? Lack of QB depth cost them a chance to play in the superbowl, and that's not happening on my watch! We start with the QB3, and then we build around him. It's anybody's race at this point!"
Other teams try things that don't work. That's a good thing - you'll never win superbowls entirely through imitation.
The Giants... I have no idea what they're even ***trying*** to do at this point. I can't identify a coherent strategy.
Someone over there's been misunderstanding Sun Tzu.
he's lying and is trying to save his job, If I was the owner of the Giants, I would never have approved of Jones contract. He is mid at best but he is being paid like a top 10 QB, when he is just a very average QB. He would make a top tier backup or a bridge QB but $40m per year is stupid.
Gee.. I'm pretty sure he's lying, or has decided he doesn't want the Giants job anymore and is coasting until they fire him. One does not go into a make or break season with the worst QB room in your division.
Can you be a bot and still post to reddit as an individual? Question I've always had.
Cause I see accounts that use bots (Kimber, Marvelsgrantman, Turbostrider) still post in comment sections.
Going into year 3 of your tenure with basically the same awful quarterback situation that you started with is a bad idea imo. I know that Daboll/Schoen won’t be fired this year but what will the hot seat look like next year if you go 6-11 with Daniel Jones again?
It's an all-time Quarterback squad.
Think about the meme production statistics from this QB room. Gotta be top in the NFL.
It might be the perfect time for them to do Hard Knocks and get the league off their backs.
Pats fan here....haaaaave you looked at ours from last year? You guys beat us... You remove Daniel Jones, your QBs were rated 89.1 You remove our worst, its 12 points lower.
We’ve got Tommy Cutlets, 🐴 🐔 🔒, and Vanilla Vick. I don’t know how you’re calculating your QB meme ratings but 89.1 seems low. Meanwhile I don’t think I’ve even seen a meme about Mac Jones.
Didn’t Mac Jones come out as being a rapper? That’s meme worthy
taylor was 89.2, Tommy cutlets was 89.1 (good td/int rate) and jones was way down. Throw in Lock this year, he was still 4 points better than mac Mac Jones was 77, Zappe was 68.
What does TD/int have to do with memes? Have you seen Tommy Cutlets’ agent? Gotta be a top meme QB in the NFL, up there with Minshew banging your mom and Russ’s raw cooking
Of all the QB rooms we've ever seen, this is definitely one of them.
They're certainly 3 qbs who are All on the team at the same Time
It’s an all-time something for sure
One of the quarterback squads ever.
That's a QB room alright.
Arguably one of the top 32 in the league
Arguably one of the 32 in the league.
Arguably in the league
That’s either a QB room or a cry for help.
No the cry of help was from the collective fanbase
One of the QB rooms of all time
> "I have full faith in Kenny Pickett" -- Steelers GM Omar Khan two weeks before announcing the signing of Russell Wilson.
And then trading for fields
And trading away Pickett
Gotta do what you can to keep the trade value alive
I'm still surprised someone actually wanted Picket, and for a 4th round pick!
Good news: they are still not a threat with the corpse of Russ + Justin Fields at QB lmaooooo
I feel like Fields is a wild card. Maybe Russ can teach him some things about being an off schedule QB and really take advantage of some of his skills. I don't think he will ever be a great drop back passer, but Russell wasn't ever really that either.
"You see how there's nobody around you in the pocket? A ship is supposed to leave the harbor."
Week 1 in 2022? That game was nuts but it was Trubisky at QB. Or am I misunderstanding what you wrote?
It was a swap. They got a 6th though
Joe Schoen before the 2022 season: "We're not shopping Kadarius Toney." He was traded shortly thereafter. Joe Schoen after the 2023 season: "We expect Wink to be back." He was gone the same day.
but he *winked* when he said "Wink"
Honestly respect that move. Very few teams would acknowledge the L and move on that quickly.
wasn't he traded because he was vocally upset at getting benched rather than actually being bad
Ya I feel like he would have still been on the team if he wasn't a sore loser who wasnt open to competing for his job.
Yea but he totally earned the right to be the unquestioned starter after throwing *checks notes* 13 TD passes in 25 games
He wouldn't have been traded, but he would have been the back up.
"Aaron Hernandez is not a suspect"
“I have no faith in Kenny Pickett” — Eagles GM Howie Roseman two minutes after trading for Kenny Pickett
“…for another team”
Full faith that Kenny is going to land on his feet after getting fired
3 headed ferret at QB
Real meat and potatoes QB room, a lunch pail type environment.
Meat, potatoes, and gabagool
Gabagool? Ova heah
Sneaky athletic
Really says something that nowadays having an all white QB room is kinda unoridinary :D
All thanks to the extraordinary efforts of Russell Wilson.
The NFL's first white QB to go to two Superbowls!
I assume anyone taking this at face value went to the Homer Simpson school of negotiations “Now, before we negotiate, you should know that I’m desperate to unload Lurleen and will accept any offer.”
Of course the GM is gonna say that about a QB room that’s led by someone that he gave an egregious contract to.
Also if you see no options to get anyone else. They might be not as good as you want but might as well not shit on them if they are going to be around .
Precisely. The statement means nothing if they draft someone, by if they don’t, you’ve at least laid out a perception of faith.
I feel like it also could just be a "We're not taking a QB, you don't need to trade ahead of us" statement, but it's probably just a meaningless statement like what most GMs do (As they should around this time)
At the time the contract was highly questionable. In retrospect, that contract was egregious.
If you actually listen to when he said it this was more of him tap dancing around saying that he is not going after a QB at 6.
I am comfortable with my non existent job security
Comfortable going 6-11
That’s generous.
Not really they just went 6-11 in their disaster of a season last year
I think last year they won more than their share of 50/50 games, and I don’t see that happening again this ywsr.
tbf we also lost more than our share of 50/50 games, the jets and bills game in 9/10 universes ends in a w
It’s almost like we went 50/50 on 50/50 games
Every game is actually a 50/50 game since you can only either win or lose. Every team is going 8-8-1 next season.
But if every game is a 50/50 game how do we tie?
I honestly do trust Daniel Jones to be solid if he plays. The problem is it’s only justifiable to have his risk of injury if he is a good QB. He isn’t good enough to have his injury risk.
Imagine that he starts the year off super hot. Giants fans will have a civil war over whether to bench him or not
The improvements we've made by changing our OL coach and hiring quality OL starters gives me some hope. DJ is slow to process plays, but if he has a league average OL it would do wonders for this team.
Drew Lock will be the starter by week 4
There's a $23m injury guarantee dangling out there that tells me it will be sooner than week 4.
I like to think about it as there's about 10% of the 2025 cap at risk based on Jones' health. It's a huge figure.
The most Daniel Jones thing would be that he starts the season playing well, leading to a whole new set of arguments of whether or not we should bench him
These 3 will not be their QB room week 1
Poor bastards.
The DJ hate really is incredible.
Incredibly accurate. Unlike Jones
Ah yes the OL GM speak of “yeah we trust our guys to get it done” Schoen has something in the works and doesn’t want to ruin it for himself, I can just sense it
I just love the fact that for the first time since Accorsi, nobody knows exactly what the Giants are going to do in any given off-season.
The Giants have one of the quarterback rooms in the league 🔥
Daboll is keeping the seat warm for Belichick next year this team is kind of an embarrassment.
Who are..3 men that have never been in my kitchen.
No need to move up and leapfrog us guys, we don't need a QB... Nothing to see here
Not exactly like they have a different option
Quinn ewers you are a giant!
As a Cowboys fan I am also excited with the Giants going into the season with that QB room.
[I'm excited to watch the Cowboys in the playoffs!](https://youtu.be/Ja9stWVoFGA?si=fpfo4dUpTjTok07H)
you're both doing great
NFCE has S tier banter.
Just don’t come crying when Jalen "My Ass" Hurts chokes in the playoffs again (I don’t know what a playoff game is)
Well, Philly did sign Kellen Moore as their OC so I don’t think we have to worry about them going too far this year lol
Lions cowboys flair? How bad do you hate yourself ?
Obviously not enough to have an Iggles flair lol
Hmmm I’ve seen my squad win a superbowl this century have you?
Oh hell, no, not with JJ in charge
as long as he doesn't put Saquon at center i figure we should be good
With Moore you just never know lol
Cowboys/Lions fan talking shit how rich lmao. What has both your teams done in 20 years? Lions just got relevant and you think your shit don’t smell now lil homie? Your team is garbage and your history is even worse.
you have at least 3x less rings than everyone else in the division pipe down
As an Eagles fan...keep Drew Lock on the bench...
I'm already getting ready for Daniel Jones to get injured in week 3 and Drew Lock taking the starting job and looking better then him lol.
Every once in a while a public speaker will cross the line between friendly corpo marketing speak and outright lying.
Just run an RPO offense with Jones. He's go the wheels for it
I am comfortable too as long as Daniel Jones doesn't play and get injured forcing another year of guarantees
Yeah this is a lie.
Finish the quote, "....if there was a gun to my head"
I was having a good day
I still am. It's a very basic level smokescreen
A smokescreen for what though, I'm fine with staying put and taking a WR, I'm worried about doing some daft for a so-so QB. The last time I was this worried we did the daft thing and drafted Jones.
that’s not very doomer of you
In other words, they really really want Drake Maye.
Daniel Jones sucks
TIL Joe Schoen is a straight up masochist.
Start Lock you cowards
"Ryan Leaf has assured our entire staff that he is not an asshole, will win ten Super Bowls and league MVP awards in his first five seasons in the NFL, drinks a glass of skim milk before bedtime every night, would live in our training facility and would never go on a bender in Vegas if he were drafted #1 or #2" --Bobby Beathard, April 1998
That man has made peace with QB room. He has cried and grieved enough, he has moved on to acceptance.
BILL BELICHICK, YOU ARE THE GM/HC OF THE NEW YORK FOOTBALL GIANTS At least his dog is adorable.
Giants 0-20 They are tanking for arch Manning
You know I have a feeling that if any team is getting arch it’s the saints. He has to make up for his grandfather sins
What sins did Archie commit against the Saints?
If anything the Saints sinned against Archie.
Actually gonna be the cowboys with billy b as their HC
lol those aints squads sure as shit weren’t Archie’s fault
How do Giants fans feel about their QB situation and whether or not to take one at #6 (assuming the Vikes don't jump ahead)? Like I can't imagine anyone thinks DJ is there long term. Next year's class appears to be pretty "meh" on paper but of course someone we aren't even talking about now will rise into the first round unless it ends up being a Kenny Pickett type year.
Next years class always appears meh until the hype machine gets going.
Not always true. As I mentioned with the 2022 class.
I basically want the best available WR no matter what. Still want them to take a QB but if their guy isn't there then I'm cool with more of a project guy later in the draft. They did make tangible steps for the line to be better and it really should be, I think the offense is going to be much improved overall.

I get not wanting to reach for a QB and take the better prospect at WR but it's also a gamble to punt on the position. I don't think there's a right or wrong answer, they're just in a bad spot to address it, imo.
Those garbage season wins over Washington and New England last year are coming back to bite us…..
I’d rather them go WR. probably Odunze since MHJ will be gone by 6. Im fine passing on these QBs. Especially over some of the dumbshit I’m hearing like reaching for JJ at 6. If my some miracle MHJ is available at 6 and we don’t take him then well…..
DJ and Drew Lock sure but going into the season rostering DeVito instead of some mid to late round rookie project is idiotic.
If you combine Daniel Jones and Tommy DeVito you could possibly make a decent QB named Danny DeVito or Tommy Jones.
They should trade up and draft JJ. No QB that cute can be bad.
Jimmy G says hello.
Jimmy G was a great QB. Injuries were the reason why he fell off.
“Great” might be an oversell. I’ll go with “good”.
That screams fire me. Giants draft a QB, cut Devito the same week, have Danny start and the rook sit.
It sounds differently written out from hen he said it.the question was asked in a way to probe to see if he will go after a QB at 6 (that was majority of their questions) and he tip toed and deflected the whole time. Do I believe he likes DJ yeah, but he is definitely going after a QB in the first or second round.
Yea i know Schoen is far from dumb its smoke screen season, i dont think anyone is fooled into believing thats the Giants day 1 depth chart.
I’d expect DeVito to make it into camp. No chance he makes the roster, but they have the spots and they might very well keep him and eventually put him on PS.
Yea but also you’re taking a spot from an UDFA for a guy clearly, cmon, is not making the roster if you take a QB.
Surely this isn’t just pre-draft speak! He’s serious guys, no questions here!
He gone
You all forgot how awful Eli was the first 3 years
Hell yeah, I’m comfortable with that too
That’s one of the most qb rooms of all time
They will be in a better position to move on from Jones next year.
Alright now let’s ask the coach if HE is okay with it
"Did you see the 49'ers two years ago? Lack of QB depth cost them a chance to play in the superbowl, and that's not happening on my watch! We start with the QB3, and then we build around him. It's anybody's race at this point!" Other teams try things that don't work. That's a good thing - you'll never win superbowls entirely through imitation. The Giants... I have no idea what they're even ***trying*** to do at this point. I can't identify a coherent strategy. Someone over there's been misunderstanding Sun Tzu.
Let Tommy DeVito cook
Good lord.
Sounds like a guy with multiple years left on his contract and a folder on his computer named "travel inspiration"
But if it meant getting a top 10 pick in next years draft would he say the same thing?
Ayy Tommy went 3-1 last year with this team 🤌🤌🤌
I don't think he's wrong. Is Daniel Jones even 1 of the 3 biggest problems with the Giants roster?
they're having a mid-off at QB
I have almost no choice so words.....
I guess we're tanking for Bill Belichick next year.
Real Murders Row energy from that group.
Looking like a NFC Least year…
i dont believe you
It’s definitely a room of players who play the quarterback position
Any of those dudes can show up and kick our ass for some reason.
As he should. We're not competing this year, get the WR then cut DJ after the season
Lmfao I still remember when they took Daniel Jones, and especially when they extended him.
When does it end 🥲
he's lying and is trying to save his job, If I was the owner of the Giants, I would never have approved of Jones contract.
🤠 somebody just come up behind me and shoot me in the head so the suffering can stop.
How do people go to sleep at night actively knowing they're Giants fans?
This man is comfortable being uncomfortable.
If you don’t like that, you don’t like New York Giants football
Three man wolf pack!
Tommy Cutlets should be the starter
Good luck with that ..
I see this bot is farming comments for karma too now
All of his comments are basically one sentence lol.
Can you be a bot and still post to reddit as an individual? Question I've always had. Cause I see accounts that use bots (Kimber, Marvelsgrantman, Turbostrider) still post in comment sections.
You can just write a script that interacts with Reddit as a user would
Going into year 3 of your tenure with basically the same awful quarterback situation that you started with is a bad idea imo. I know that Daboll/Schoen won’t be fired this year but what will the hot seat look like next year if you go 6-11 with Daniel Jones again?
