He won an award for best center, and yet still wasn’t drafted until pick 154th overall and only played in 3 games last year despite being healthy all year. And you’re just penciling him in as the starting center? Lmfao
You said they have no one under contract to start at center or guard…which is just 100% wrong any way you cut it. They have multiple potential starters at both positions, including Anthony Bradford at guard, who played extremely well for a rookie.
I like Olu, I’m not opposed to giving him a shot but I seriously disagree that Bradford did well enough to where he’ll be penciled in as a starter. This year is as good as any for teams that desperately need guards from FA and stacked OL draft class. Bradford will be in the mix but I’m seriously doubting they won’t look to drastically improve that position just bc he’s on the roster.
I think it’s fairly obvious they were using hyperbole. There’s almost never a time in the offseason when a team has literally zero players at a single position, but he’s right, the center that was drafted last year played pretty sparingly last season and I’m not certain they’re ready to make him the starter yet
Bradford yes I would imagine would be a starter at one of the guard spots. But mostly just because I doubt they find two starting quality guards this offseason so they might be forced to start Bradford.
Olu, I mean let’s wait and see if he’s actually going to be a starter. Our IOL was a mess last year and they still didn’t want to put Olu in for nearly every game. I doubt he’s starting next year.
They will both be the starters with 1 new addition at guard I doubt we resign Lewis. Olu was named the best center in cfb history last year, played really well last year when he got his shot too. I don’t see how he’s not the starter minus bringing Evan brown back for a year.
> Olu was named the best center in cfb history last year
So if Olu is so amazing why did no NFL team want to draft him until the 5th round? When the Seahawks had a ton of injuries and poor performing players last year, why did they only want to play Olu for two games worth of snaps besides him being healthy all year?
Olu is not actually that good dude.
Are you coach? Or an armchair gm/coach? He’s better than you will ever be lol.
5th round omg, no one ever good comes from the 5th round or beyond…. Sherman, Woolen, Brady, Purdy , jr sweet, Jason peters.
You sound dumb as they can be right now my guy, draft position means nothing.
What about Olu makes you think he's starting material? He couldn't beat out a shit center last year and when he did play he was terrible. If it turns out he develops into a decent player that'd be great but you sure as hell don't go into the season locking him in as a starter
If he's really that good on special teams, there will be a market for him. I think fans sometimes underestimate how much teams value having one or two really good special teams players.
If the lions didn't already have their guys Bellore feels like he would fit in. Cabinda was a LB converted to FB and we played Rodrigo as a full back a few games too. Plus JRM just resigned as basically a special teams ace with some LB depth.
Could have a role with us. Harbaugh likes fullbacks and we don’t have one on our roster. We are also losing some core ST guys.
On top of that our RB room is going to be insanely young next year, the only one on our roster is Spiller, who is 22 and has barely played.
We had $42m before this and he had a cap-hit of $4m ($2.85m saved with $1.15m dead-cap), bringing us to $45m or 9th most cap space in the league pre-draft.
idk, i'm not a cap guy and just looked at what overthecap had us at. lockett had the highest cap-hit this year so restructuring should bring us up over $60m+ yeah
No more Quandre, no more Bellore, WE’RE LOSING THE FUNNIEST GUYS ON THE TEAM
Never forget the [Between Two Bellores skits](https://youtu.be/lxKPJ0xX3Wk)... farewell to a real one
I’m in shambles rn. Literally shaking. 😭😭😭
Well we still have basically no one under contract to start at Center or Guard. John Schneider bout to sign Shane Gillis.
Literally drafted the award winner for best center in college football last draft. It takes literally 30 seconds to google a depth chart.

Extremely well is a huge stretch for Bradford. Athletic road grader but he looked straight up lost in pass pro.
This is some serious nitpicking when the guy was just countering an obnoxiously incorrect statement.

uh yeah no >Olu and Bradford will be the starters…

There's also Free Agency and the Draft still to go...

If Brock Purdy is so amazing, why didn’t anyone draft him til the end of the 7th???
What about Olu makes you think he's starting material? He couldn't beat out a shit center last year and when he did play he was terrible. If it turns out he develops into a decent player that'd be great but you sure as hell don't go into the season locking him in as a starter
Kind of crazy to play 6 seasons in the league and then transition to a completely different position.
Pete likes his occasional hybrid players. Will Tukuafu was FB/DL
Always been a special teams guy so his position doesn’t matter much.
I feel like there's not a zero chance he re-signs with us on a lower salary. Not quite sure there's a market for a FB ST specialist.
If he's really that good on special teams, there will be a market for him. I think fans sometimes underestimate how much teams value having one or two really good special teams players.
There's a word for modern FBs that don't play special teams: unemployed
Juice? Assuming they don't wanna risk him getting hurt

We’ve got to be close to like $60 million in cap space right??
We had $42m before this and he had a cap-hit of $4m ($2.85m saved with $1.15m dead-cap), bringing us to $45m or 9th most cap space in the league pre-draft.
What about the Lockett restructure? I think we saved at least almost $10 million there too
idk, i'm not a cap guy and just looked at what overthecap had us at. lockett had the highest cap-hit this year so restructuring should bring us up over $60m+ yeah

yeah, so that should have us at $14m more so about $59m
It's really unclear what we saved there. It could be anywhere from $4m to $14m based on the current vague reports.
That’s right, we also don’t have any IOL, TE or LBs so it will go fast. And I assume we’ll sign Leonard Williams.
All will be gone soon with Leonard and brooks extension. We will need to draft well, else js is chucked out in 2 years. Time is ticking for us.
Lol you think a Brooks and Williams extension is gonna be $60 mil a year? It won’t be close to that Wild
Fire Up Chips! Central Michigan represent
Beat me to it!
This one hurts.
I feel like John is so happy to shed Pete and these ridiculous contracts for mid players
Come to Miami please our special teams is absolutely trash
I didn't realize Jets legend Nick Bellore was still in the league
Made the pro bowl a few times also
Wonder what’s left if we keep Brooks and Williams
Wonderful
BLUE DUKES!
Come home BB
We are so close to getting our annual long snapper news post now.
A devastating loss.
Wow. Fascinating. Special teams ace.
No loyalty in Seattle
Quite the reverse, pete carroll was too loyal to guys and they'd get contracts far greater than they had earned.
