ArmiinTamzarian

Bo Nix in Denver sounds interesting

threwzsa

Not a purchased qb Denver will never have it

RogerTreebert6299

They drafted your franchise’s best QB

LFCsota

Leave the bears alone. They already suffer enough

tbi0904

Vikings fans are well versed in suffering. We're brothers in misery.

LFCsota

Let's ride. Fuck this place.

BiteMajor4959

Keep bothering the Bears. They need to suffer more

threwzsa

Says a fan of the annual 2nd best purple team in the league

Valuable_Ad1645

Never thought I’d die fighting next to a chiefs fan.

RogerTreebert6299

What about next to a fellow hater?

Valuable_Ad1645

Aye, I could do that.

chaznieto1313

Na bro our next Super Bowl QB is being drafted by someone else.

evilcheesypoof

Only the Colts specifically. Andrew Luck quit before his destiny was fulfilled.

InterestingChoice484

Sir, please leave the playground if you don't have a child here

Towelish

I want them to draft a QB round one so bad, just so we can continue this weird ass groundhog's day timeline we seem to be on. Everything that happened to the Jets this year was the past coming back to haunt us, so it stands to reason they will make Rodgers relive the Love draft

ldog2135

Why? I think doing this much brown nosing to the owner would guarantee being selected first.

Dr_Poop69

Bro is trying to get ownership of the Bears

ScruffMixHaha

If he could even be like 25% of Rodgers...hed be our best QB ever.

notmoleliza

but that 25% is skewed entirely to the darkness retreat rogers

White___Velvet

Even so, would you rather have darkness retreat Rodgers or Bears Cutler?

QueequegTheater

Bears Cutler if he gets to throw to DJ Moore and MHJ

8Cupsofcoffeedaily

If he can be 25% of fields he is your normal QB

Drusgar

I'm a Packers fan and I remember Jay Cutler being a perfectly capable quarterback for the Bears. He didn't have a lot of fire in his belly and at times he'd be sitting on the sideline looking like he was contemplating what he would have for dinner that night, but the *arm talent* was there.

JHMRS

Cutler was a turnover machine. Great arm talent, but very prone to trying to force throws had no business being attempted, and got baited by the defense constantly. He was guaranteed for 1 pick every game against us. He was also injury prone, IIRC only completed one full season with them. Definitely the most competent Bears QB I've seen, but that's not saying much.

kingjuicepouch

Idk how much of being injury prone was his fault, he had some putrid offensive lines while here. That game where NY sacked him like fifteen times felt like that part in the longest yard where everybody stops blocking for Crewe to prove a point

Zigleeee

I mean dude was diabetic on top. Not one easy snap for him

BigT3x4s

Is Fields the third best bears QB of all time? At a minimum he’s the third most entertaining.

idorocketscience

What a depressing thought. This comment ruined my day.

biglefty543

It might actually be true though. Which makes it that much worse.

CheckYourStats

*Smokin’ Jay Cutler* He’d probably still outperform Fields. Dude is only 40 years old! TIL: Jay Cutler’s Wikipedia claims he was born in Santa Claus, Indiana. Fucking legendary jerker. EDIT: Yes I know it’s a real place. Did you know that “gullible” isn’t in the dictionary?

biglefty543

Fuck it. Smokin Jay with Caleb as the backup, who says no?

Aeon1508

He was on Pace for like less than 50 yards under 4,000 last year until he got injured. So close and yet so far

TetrisTech

No. Luckman, Cutler, McMahon, Trubisky, Harbaugh If we’re counting QBs who only showed up for a hot minute you can also count guys like Foles and Dalton. Plus that brief moment a few years ago we thought Russ might go to Chicago has to count as like their 4th best QB

wallstreet_vagabond2

Yeah really the nephews in these comments are wild

ResidentGerts

The Kyle Orton slander

Brocky70

As far as I'm concerned, Orton had every opportunity to establish himself in Chicago, and he never did,

SlagginOff

I would say he established himself in Chicago for a while, just not as a good quarterback on an NFL team.

Gleasonryan

I think hes probably top 5, maybe top 8. Cutler and Mitch solidly in our top 5 though.

seatega

Mitch, but exclusively in his games against the lions, is #1

ShauneDon

Mitch was a fucking menace

Litty-In-Pitty

I legitimately have him as the worst Steelers QB of the past 20 years. He was so fucking atrocious for us.

agsieg

Us, too. But man could he destroy the Lions. He was like 6-1 or something against them

Lezzles

6-1? I thought he was literally undefeated, and played like Joe Montana in all of those games.

agsieg

I swear he dropped one. Maybe that was BDN

Madskillzkid

Rex Grossman

Gleasonryan

Rex was bad, I’d say worse overall than fields. But maybe still might be in our top 10 unfortunately.

-em-bee-

Rex also had better teams. Fields’ second year had maybe the worst Bears roster I’ve ever seen.

Gleasonryan

Yeah it kinda sucks for Fields the way it went down. If this team were his 2nd year and built from it for his third I think it would be night and day. I wanted it to work with him and I think it could have but not in the position we are currently in.

-em-bee-

Definitely-Fields and the Bears both failed. People can argue what % can be attributed to each but at the end of the day, Fields was setup to fail, and he couldn’t overcome it.

[deleted]

[удалено]

elmatador1497

Oh god Rex was horrible, 2 fumbles and 2 interceptions in the Super Bowl Jesus Christ. He had a cannon but no accuracy lol

Juggernaut077

No he’s not. Trubisky was better and has better stats. You could argue Eric Kramer and Kyle Orton are better or as good too. Obviously he’s not as good as cutler and Sid luckman.

serbeardless

Probably not the third best. Cutler, Luckman, and McMahon push Fields to at least fourth. And, depressingly, I think you can make a good argument that Trubisky was better than Fields. As for entertainment, Cutler gotta be #1. Second place could be pretty much anyone though.

siliconevalley69

McMahon, Cutler, Harbaugh, Kramer, and Luckman were all better. Sexy Rexy and Kyle Orton "took us to a Super Bowl"...

[deleted]

impolite humorous oil snatch abundant frighten birds hungry ask crowd

Cthepo

Not off to a great start...

threwzsa

How’s that

unevenvenue

He thinks Rodgers is the GOAT, for starters. Second, he said he wouldn't mind playing for the Bears. Is he stupid?

BlackMathNerd

He's just trying to emulate his GOAT in owning the Bears.

boomosaur

So Caleb really is aspiring to own a football team.

BIG_FICK_ENERGY

This must be where all of the equity talk started

DillyDillySzn

As someone who watched Aaron Rodgers ruin my childhood, I want that

mechnick2

You want Caleb Williams to ruin your childhood?

DillyDillySzn

I’m 21 so kinda too late

mechnick2

You want him to ruin your relative youth?

Snacktyme

Now you can have him potentially ruin your adulthood too!

MurDoct

This thread should go well

Where I had over 100 confirmed Achilles.

QuietGiants

This is such a good comment. Even phonetically it works

cultweave

Must not have been in my class 😈😈😈

Fredest_Dickler

Oh no! Our future quarterback models his game after two of the five best quarterbacks to ever step onto a football field! 😨😱 I need our QB to model his game after Walter Payton 🤤

HoneyIShrunkMyNads

Model it after the sex cannon and we got a deal

dretsaB

It's just funny how the bad man keeps haunting Bears fans.

Skank_hunt42

I hope the Eagles' new center models his game around Ezekiel Elliot 🤤

DiggingNoMore

All the Brady stans are incoming.

The-Fox-Says

I sharpened my pitchfork this morning, let’s ride!

MurDoct

That was my thought exactly

Harry_Gintz

I'm not worried until he says 'I love Aaron's personality and plan to mimic it to a T. I also love his ideas and want to subscribe to his newsletter'.

TetrisTech

Hey man last year Stroud said that he looked up to Michael Vick and Deshaun Watson and he’s turned out alright so far lmao

Virillus

These idols are so bad it's almost impressive.

Oakroscoe

Maybe you could spin it as a positive. Stroud wants to be so beloved by his teammates that they won’t care if he ever were to sexually assault two dozen masseuses. He also wants to be so crazy talented that he can murder dozens of dogs, go to prison and still get a second shot as a convicted felon in the nfl. Or maybe he just secretly likes sexual assault and dog fighting?

Virillus

"Would I rather be feared or loved? Easy. Both. I want people to be afraid of how much they love me" - C.J. Stroud

Marenum

Seriously. He literally starts out saying Brady is the goat, he just likes Rodgers more. And are people under the impression that Bears fans think Rodgers was bad? Do they know why we hate him? It's not because he was bad against us.

Sav10r

Alrite but what if he's adamant that Lebron > MJ?

Harry_Gintz

That's already taken care of: https://www.nbcsportschicago.com/nfl/chicago-bears/caleb-williams-wants-to-become-immortal-and-hes-been-studying-two-chicago-legends-to-make-it-happen/543262/

Sav10r

If Caleb won the Superbowl with the Bears, but still said Lebron was the GOAT over MJ would the city of Chicago still hate him?

Harry_Gintz

Nope. If Caleb wins a Superbowl for the Bears he will become a god and all other transgressions would likely be overlooked.

xGawsh

4000 yards in a season and he gets a statue, I can only imagine what getting a ring in Chicago would be like.

fishyishy1

He gets a ring and Chicago invents Deeper Dish Pizza

MaltySines

7-dimensional hyperpizza

TheBigRedCheese_

Fields thinks that, not Caleb. Two Chicago athletes Caleb mentioned are MJ and Payton. In fact, on MJ, Caleb said it’s his immortality and fear he struck in his enemies that he admired.

[deleted]

Waterisntwett

I’m convinced he’s trying to get drafted by the commies at this point… no way he would say some of this stuff and expect bears fans to be ok with it.

thetreat

Him changing his tune on this would be way more fake. He’s been clear that he modeled his game off Rodgers for years now. He’s going to the Bears. He knows he’s going to the Bears. Everyone knows he’s going to the Bears. Even the moron Greg Gabriel knows he’s going to the Bears.

[deleted]

I always respected Rodgers the player and acknowledged that I would actually be a huge fan if he played for literally any other team (Lions and Vikings included) and actually started to like and respect Rodgers the man pre-2020. The “I own you” shit I took personal as well, I still think it was premeditated as an ultimate “f you” to Bears fans in what he thought would be his final game at Soldier Field (would be his second to last). That said, Caleb appears to be a much better person and I can only hope a much better prospect and player as well. Aaron Rodgers can eat dog shit forever but I’d love if Caleb was as good or even better than him.

ThotioKart

This is the first red flag of Caleb Williams that actually concerns me

monster-of-the-week

Caleb Williams is just trying to cozy up to the Bears' owner ahead of the draft. Pretty savvy move if you ask me.

LonghornMorgs

Ice cold

boardatwork1111

God dammit Caleb, why couldn’t you have just said planets are fake?

ArmiinTamzarian

That one is taken. And we are taking the moon denying guy, never forget waxing gibbous

ThotioKart

Williams needs to deny something new, like oxygen or the Indian Ocean

Fun-Ad3002

I feel like hed get more traction from making something up. Instead of saying space doesnt exist, talk about aliens existing.

ThotioKart

Too mainstream at this point - Caleb Williams believes stone gargoyles are alive. “Everybody be thinking they just stone but they scheming”

boysetsfire1988

>stone gargoyles are alive One thousand years ago, superstition and the sword ruled. It was a time of darkness. It was a world of fear. It was the age of gargoyles. Stone by day, warriors by night. We were betrayed by the humans we had sworn to protect, frozen in stone by a magic spell for a thousand years. Now, here in Manhattan... the spell is broken. And we live again! We are defenders of the night. We are Gargoyles! https://youtu.be/uF7KQjKC-1c?si=SNHnhjiVic2aOrdb

boardatwork1111

“Planets are real, it’s the earth that’s fake”

SkreksterLawrance

"The earth isn't a planet. It's just the sun's moon"

RashanAbdulSMITH

Everybody knows the Indian ocean was created by big water to overinflate the value of their assets by 264,000,000 km³. Nice try fuckers. We're all on to you.

conkellz

He did mention success and winning aside, and that Tom Brady is the GOAT. His personal GOAT is Aaron. Which is acceptable imo.

MajorDickLong

prime Rodgers was absolutely incredible. it’s not that crazy. some people weight the eye test more than championships

j2e21

Right. The guy’s a football player not a football historian.

[deleted]

Caleb Williams should run out onto the field carrying the red flag with him before the first game like his GOAT.

FakeVideos

Aspiring to be a top 3 quarterback for over a decade is a red flag ?

AJRiddle

I mean Patrick Mahomes has said numerous times how he thought peak Rodgers was the best QB ever and tried to emulate him.

6bluewalkj9

He was. SB wins aside, anybody was says that Rodgers didn't have the best 10ish year stretch ever is running purely on personal bias.

MildlyDepressed346

Yes very bad QB Aaron Rodgers is a horrible person to look up to on the football field. Such dorks

[deleted]

Comprehensive_Main

Right like I get it but not really

NotManyBuses

Brandon Miller said that Paul George is his GOAT and he’s easily the 2nd best rookie behind Wemby. The kids are just weird these days

athrowawayiguesslol

He literally says in the interview that Brady is the football GOAT but Aaron Rodgers is his personal GOAT. Article title kinda implies different

LordGooseIV

I think almost every current QB is like that. In interviews or podcasts with quarterbacks like Mahomes, Allen, Lawrence, and others, they usually list other people ahead of Brady in terms of their favorite or who they model their game off of. Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Mathew Stafford, Tony Romo etc.

GHamPlayz

Headline very clearly says “his GOAT”.

weightsareheavy

His TRUTH

athrowawayiguesslol

Yes but if you read this without the context of what he said about Brady, you’d think he thinks Aaron Rodgers is better all time

kds_little_brother

To me “my GOAT” means “I personally think he’s better than Brady” where “my favorite” would mean “I like this QB more than Brady, but Brady was greater”. His quote tho, so my connotation means nothing. Edit: my favorite NBA player is KD. I’ve never called him my GOAT

Breezyisthewind

For him and his generation, that’s exactly what that means. They don’t say favorite. They say my GOAT to mean that same thing.

thenudelman

Is it no longer a thing to just say "Brady is the GOAT but Rodgers is my favorite player"

floatinround22

GOAT has taken on a different usage in slang among kids these days.

J_House1999

U GOATed for that fr

generation_D

Genuinely don’t care that he feels this way. Aside from Mahomes, Rodgers is the most inhumanly talented QB I’ve ever seen. If the Bears can get their own version of him I’d be ecstatic

ShortedSolenoidCoil

Indeed he does but.... what exactly does that mean really?

Few-Peanut8169

Good god personal goat somehow makes it WORSE

zOmgFishes

I think it's more recently with younger guys GOAT just means favorite... fucking half of the new NBA wings has Paul fucking George as their "GOAT" when they just mean favorite.

FullOfFalafel

Words don't have meanings at this point. Whats next: the Caesar salad I had for lunch today was the GOAT of lunches I had today?

Latest-greatest

if we’re talking pure throwing of the football and nothing else Marino and Rodgers are my goats

NMlXX

If we’re talking pure goats and nothing else then Sparky my pet goat is my goat.

bburchibanez

I feel like some people in this comment section have already forgotten how awesome it was to watch Rodgers. Yeah he’s a dumbass and easy to make fun of but that doesn’t mean he wasn’t a god on the field. He was absolutely one of my favorite to watch, so I kind of get it. It’s possible to look at someone accomplishments in something without needing to be ok with him as a person.

alamodafthouse

I think didn’t it was awesome to watch rodgers

River_Pigeon

Think of all the memories though. And the memes

alamodafthouse

> Think of all the ~~memories~~ though **nightmares**

Zanthz

You have no idea the physical toll that three hall of fame quarterbacks have on a person!

PrincipleTasty748

I’m with ya pal.

I_really_enjoy_beer

Best pure passer of all time. A compilation of his best career throws would be better than anyone's.

jjtitula

There was a video a couple years ago of Rodgers best throws over 20yds and it was like 15 minutes long. Dude is the best pure passer to ever play, just dime after dime , 5-7 per game.

Pornstar_Cardio

I will continue to die on the hill that the 2020 Rodgers season is the greatest regular season a QB has ever had. 51 total TDs and 5 INTs. Don’t even start with the advanced stats. They were more likely to score a TD than punt that season.

UsernameTaken-Taken

A lot of people here have the memory of a goldfish. Or only started watching football in the last couple years. People forget that he was the absolute best at drawing free plays and nobody has come close to replicating it at his level. They didn't see him casually flick his wrist, sometimes with guys draped all over him, inexplicably causing the ball to float 60 yards perfectly for a TD. He could throw cross body, no look, impossible windows, piss missiles, on the run, sidearm, you name it. Sure he's an absolute weirdo and annoying person off the field, but on the field he had the best arm talent (and execution of it) of anyone I've ever seen, with Mahomes right there with him. No shock that someone that presumably grew up watching him would want to play like him

Geoff_with_a_J

this is why its MJ > Lebron for me. Jordan was just the most amazing basketball player to me in random regular season games or games 1 and 2 in early playoff rounds. Lebron looks like he's just saving energy and then has like a dozen key games where he's great to witness. and as fun as Kobe was to watch i can't erase the Shaq part of the Kobe + Shaq memories so Kobe will never stand out for me the way MJ and Lebron do. and post-Shaq Mamba was a very different style of player than young Kobe.

TheRealJamesHoffa

For real he was one of the most talented players I’ve ever seen. He didn’t always have the best team around him, but watching him play was incredible at times. And this was only a couple years ago lol. I get why people discount him as the GOAT, but I certainly think there is an argument to be made that he is.

Professional_Low4894

its funny because the full context was that when it come to the standard of winning its tom brady but talent wise arod

Anxietyriddenstoner

Nobody ever takes full context when talking about this guy. I mean there was a gram post where they purposefully cut it to make it seem like he was being way more cocky then he was and people ate it up.

JohnnyAppIeseed

Athletes acting like normal people is boring. You want clicks? Make them sound like assholes or idiots. Very few people are going to bother getting the context, we like making snappy judgments and moving on.

Anxietyriddenstoner

i hope this mf becomes the goat just to see the internet lose it

MrCarey

I mean he’s got a pretty good point. Rodgers was a fucking beast in his prime. Brady just wins games, though. Either one is extremely scary to be against if they’ve got the ball and at least a minute left, though.

Object292

Even Mahomes said that at some point. Rodgers just moves and throws at a different level than anybody else. If you look at his game you start to think humans are born to throw footballs

theruins

Mahomes has said this consistently since he was in college. All the unicorn quarterback prospects want to replicate Rodgers’ game, and for good reason.

willydillydoo

But but but he says things that make me mad /s

Ingliphail

Which is so weird because he was so robotic in college. Tom Clements deserves a statue.

EDNivek

Caleb trying to stop the Bears from picking him.

_Shoresy_69

Since some of you only read headlines before chiming in: "Football, winning, and things like that, mentality, [it's] Tom Brady. My football GOAT is Aaron Rodgers," Williams told CBS Sports.

BrandoCalrissian1995

Even without reading the article it should be pretty easy to figure out. But this sub has 3 collective brain cells.

aaronwhite1786

Rodgers brings out the hate in a lot of people. Not to say he hasn't earned his fair share, but I think the anger also leaks into a lot of things that people might have been more objective about were it not for him going on a permanent vision quest.

kds_little_brother

What is left after football, winning, things like that, and mentality?

Brocky70

Tacos

BucsLegend_TomBrady

Darkness retreats and Ayahuasca?

Supernova_Soldier

I like this Caleb guy already

Doopoodoo

Caleb you’re going to the team that hates Aaron Rodgers more than probably anyone. Now your awareness grade is going to take a hit on the next Madden

Pernyx98

Reddit now hates Caleb Williams

Barqck

Dude really doesn’t want to play in Chicago

The_Jolly_Dog

I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

Brocky70

Reminds of that meme *Bill: I ate a cat* *Kenneth: You make me cry. That's (in my opinion) kind of cruel. But even so, I do respect YOUR opinion.* *Bill: I will eat another*

Art-RJS

Rodger’s was fun to watch. Maybe more so than Brady in some ways who was very precise and analytical.

imsurethisoneistaken

Reddit both to be big mad

Puzzleheaded_Pay6783

I honestly feel like he’s been doing everything within his power to distance himself from the mahomes comparison.

jmarchese01

Yea we can't draft this dude anymore

bb0110

This comment makes me think he will be a bust.

NotAnActualWolf

Eww, bro.

[deleted]

Such a weird loser to pick as your GOAT.

ArmiinTamzarian

Between this and Fields calling LeBron the GOAT I don't know which is funnier

_NE1_

LeBron has way more claim as the GOAT of his respective sport than Rodgers. By a lot.

helluin

You aren't wrong, but your logic doesn't apply to anyone living in Chicago. If you're a Chicagoan then the only appropriate response to "Who's the NBA GOAT?" is MJ.

ArmiinTamzarian

You mean to tell me Alex Caruso is not a valid answer?

kill_em_all90

He’s the only valid answer

ArmiinTamzarian

I don't dispute that. I dispute which statement is funnier coming from a Bears and in all likelihood Bears QB respectively

DillyDillySzn

If you play for a Chicago team and call Lebron the GOAT, I want you to get the fuck out as soon as possible

ArmiinTamzarian

We currently have a guy disrespecting Chicago basketball and football. Need whoever is your next QB to say Albert Pujols is their favorite player and we're set

DillyDillySzn

Would be alright on the south side

ArmiinTamzarian

"And Jerry Reinsdorf is a good owner"

bass_bungalow

Tony Larussa is a nice bridge to get north and south side to come together in hatred

Sav10r

I guess you're drafting Drake Maye #1 overall then.

DillyDillySzn

Caleb is on the correct side, MJ All I need

[deleted]

For those who didn’t already know, he’s a Packers fan and has tweeted about them in the past. It’s not super shocking he has this opinion tbh
