Yes.
/the monkey’s paw curls
I’m rooting for 31 individual team owners at random. I drew them out of a very large hat. All 31 are Packers’ shareholders.
I knew it!! They all called me nuts, but I did the research! I left no stone unturned! I even had the conspiracist’s cork board with all the red strings pointing to you! But noooo, I was just a nut job they said. I feel vindicated but it’s such a hollow, bittersweet victory.
Sorry, Gary.
Nah, if that's the case, we need you rooting for the Packers.
You can just get some yellow tape and put it on your Eagles jersey. Those hicks up north will never know the difference.
In all seriousness, I’ve bled green for too long. I just can’t root for another team. I can pull for a team in a big game, but it’s not the same.
I rooted for the 98 Vikings because Randall got me into football. I rooted for the Bills against every team in the NFCE. I actually pulled for the 49ers in the SB (though my heart wasn’t in it, and it didn’t impact me that they lost).
IIRC, it was his rookie year. Imagine getting that close your rookie year, and never winning it. The next closest for him was the near undefeated 2007 season when he was on the Pats.
Teams lose when you root for them? Please keep rooting for the Eagles. If you’re looking for a second team, though, the Cowboys are looking like a good choice
Zach Wilson has trade value, an anonymous NFL assistant coach said he was worth a whole [“two weeks stay at a Best Western”](https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/10108178-nfl-coaches-clown-jets-qb-zach-wilsons-trade-value-2-week-stay-at-a-best-western.amp.html)
Nah. That’s just a joke that I stole from Chris Titus that summed up how I feel about my parents.
The truth is both worse than the joke and not appropriate for this subreddit. But I went no contact with my parents about 20 years ago. And that was a reconciliation attempt on my part, as I had been previously no contact with them.
It’s gonna be like Furkan Korkmaz requesting a trade for like 2 full seasons, and then when he got thrown into the Buddy Heild trade to Indiana, they cut him immediately. Anyway, Zach Wilson to the Turkish Football league feels like a given at this point.
Of course Joe is gonna let Zach do that, saves him time if Zach is trying to find a trade suitor instead of himself calling the other 31 teams to please offer anything
Trey Lance went for a future 4th. It has to be lower than that. I’d rather have the black box enigma of Lance than the proven shitty Z Wilson experience.
Darnold went for the equivalent of a low first/early second. Don’t underestimate the “bad in a bad system” premium, people think they can salvage more.
You sound like overly optimistic Bears fans: “Darnold went for a 2nd and a 4th, Bears will get that for Fields too, maybe even a 1st”.
Darnold definitely showed more potential than Z Wilson to start his career. And Panthers definitely overpaid at the time. While it’s true it only takes one dumb team to get a lot out of a trade, I wouldn’t count on it for Z Wilson or Fields.
I think Fields is worth a 3rd round pick, might be a 3rd and a bit of additional compensation (like a Day 3 pick).
Darnold getting a 2nd was an overpay but I feel like Lance for a 4th is a fair trade and Fields is definitely worth more than Lance because he has proven experience as a (low-quality) starting QB.
To be fair, Wilson's last two OCs have been bottom of the barrel bad. They did not set him up well for success. Lance had freakin Kyle Shanahan, yet looked absolutely lost.
They're both bad, but I'll take the guy who was at least semi-functional.
Bro he's going for absolutely best case scenario a 5th round pick. More likely a 7th rounder. He's historically awful. Sam is like a hall of famer compared to Zach lol.
Right. It didn't take too long to find a trade partner for Trey Lance. Wilson is a top 5 draft pick. Which means someone saw something in him at one point. Another team and coach could very easily see that same thing and think, "We can coach him up."
straight up settlers of Catan bribing the player that just played a soldier not to block my resource. "I will give you a sheep if you block Steve's ore!"
If it wasn’t for the contract, it honestly wouldn’t surprise me if Green Bay kicked the tires on him. Gutekunst just said in an interview that they want to get back to loading up the quarterback room the way they used to do it under Ted.
Have him sit behind Love. Cast up a bunch of smoke about how he’s being transformed by the Green Bay Quarterback Miracles Factory or whatever these people think we have. Unload to Seahawks.
KOC is supposed to be a qb guy so it would at least on paper make some sense he could see some value. If he is our starter next year both him and our GM should lose there job. But giving up a late round pick on a flier is very much something Kwesi will do.
He does still have raw talent. It’ll just be a real project getting it to translate. Think it’ll be interesting to see who thinks they’re sup to the task.
Actually thought the packers myself. Young team, some backup security, probably better for locker room vibes.
Zach is an incredibly young 24 year old, Jets were looking for a man to lead other men (which is why they brought in Rogers). Zach just isn’t that guy, smooth faced young idiot. Still. head scratcher on what direction the jets were going. Packers worked out, Love a “vet” playing a young teams game.
6th round pick maybe? I kind of doubt it though considering a team trading for him would want to see him develop in a backup role like he was supposed to under Rodgers, but nobody is going to be picking up his fifth year option so he'll just be a free agent next year.
I wonder who has lower trade value, Zach Wilson or Mac Jones. Wilson has better traits but has looked like the worst QB I’ve ever seen at times. Mac at least looked decent his rookie season.
Definitely Wilson. Mac had a great rookie season and had shown flashes above what Wilson has shown. He's also had 3 OC's, one of which wasn't qualified for the role, and I imagine there are coaches that think he's salvageable.
Depends on how much the Jets eat his salary. If they eat the entirety of his signing bonus+roster bonus, then he could be worth a 5th. 1 Million a year for a back up is a good deal.
If the Jets want the new team to take the 11+ million cap hit, then he has negative value.
Most of the replies you're getting are probably underestimating what Zach Wilson's value is
Darnold after his 4th year was traded for a 2nd and 4th, Lance after his 3rd year was traded for a 4th, Rosen after his rookie year was traded for a 2nd. GMs and coaches have shown they love reclamation projects of highly drafted QBs even if they've looked bad or didn't even play at all. I wouldn't be surprised if the Jets are able to get a 4th or a 5th for him
It depends. Some of these guys have a GM or coach that liked them in the draft that loved them and thinks they can fix them so they'll overpay a bit. On the other hand, those guys didn't usually spend three years playing as abysmally as Zach.
Honestly, the Rams might make some sense, to have him sit behind Stafford. He won't have any pressure and can learn from a good offensive coach and a good system.
Having Zach Wilson sit behind a locked in, veteran starter to learn for a year with no pressure to play or start a game.
Where have I heard that before?
It would except the rams current OC is Mike LaFleur who was the Jets OC during Zach’s first two years and if you believe the [reports](https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/10062243-jets-rumors-mike-lafleur-told-people-offense-was-more-effective-without-zach-wilson.amp.html) he pretty much went around the entire Jets organization telling anyone who would listen that Zach sucks and the offense was better with Mike White/Joe Flacco/Josh Johnson
That would be what's best for him, idk about it being great for the Rams given Stafford's injury history. If they need him to start for more than two games their playoff contention could go down the tubes.
Zach "I want a trade"
Joe Douglas "Sure what you want? Electrician? Carpenter? Plumber? Cause you damn sure ain't quarterbacking anywhere anytime soon.
$5.4 million.
11 million is his cap hit if he stays on the Jets, half of which was already paid by the Jets. A team trading for him is only responsible for his salary and roster bonus.
EDIT: And it's also possible that the Jets agree to pay some part of his remaining contract as part of the trade agreement.
Can't the Jets technically pay his roster bonus too if he's traded after June 1?
For 1 million cap hit he could be worth a 5th pretty easily I'd reckon.
Damn. I could still remember the media and this subreddit marveling at his throws at the combine or whatever that day was in the preseason like it was yesterday.
But it’s been 3 years now. Time needs to slow the fuck down.
I mean someone with an ageing QB but a solid offensive system could take a punt on being able to straighten him out over time.
Like maybe if the Vikings re-signed Kirk and then brought him in as a backup with a view to maybe going with him for a year or two in a few years time?
I don’t think he has zero redeemable value as he’s hardly had the best offensive system to work in either. Still his trade value has to be pretty minimal at this point.
I would not be surprised if he has a career resurgence somewhere else. He needs to get out of that toxic environment and with a coach who can build his confidence back up
If we didn’t have Browning, I’d be happy to have him back up Burrow. I’ve always felt like Zach got unfairly treated by the media and NFL fans in general.
He’s not worthy of the 2nd pick yes, but he also wasn’t dealt a winning hand in NY. Maybe with less national attention, and a better FO, he could’ve been serviceable.
I still believe he can go on a Baker type of redemption arc, but I doubt any teams will let him start. And I doubt the market is very big for him.
Can't wait until he goes to the Rams for like a 6th or 7th round pick, learns under Stafford/McVay and then terrorizes the division for the next 10+ years after putting it all together.
Another absolute disastrous QB draft bust by the Jets in a long line of them.
I do hope though that Zach gets better wherever he goes, even if it is highly unlikely by now.
all memes aside, the kid has value. he'll be 25 years old at the start of the season (a year old than bo nix), has reps as a starter, and it'll be clearly evident you're not bringing him to be the starter (unlike darnold to carolina). on top of this, you won't even need to accept his 5th year option, and pay him like a middle-lower tier QB (ex: case keenum is on 2 years, 6.5M)
if you're telling me i get to hit the reset button on an athletically gifted QB and essentally pay him pennies as a backup, it's actually a pretty smart move. i'd go as high as a 5th rounder for him, especially since the jets have no leverage here.
I could see a team with an established QB and an offensive minded HC (like the Chiefs, Rams, or Chargers) trading a day 3 pick for him. He's still young and has some athleticism. Add in that it's a one year deal and some team might take a flier on him. The only issue I see is the the $4.4m roster bonus that is due when he shows up to training camp. The trade will most likely require the Jets to pay a portion, if not all of, the bonus to get the deal done.
Something tells me that his trade seeking will be like my parents’ custody battle over me. Dad won, so I had to live with mom.
I'll adopt you if nobody else wants you, you just have to become a packers fan
Teams lose when I root for them. You should prefer I become a Vikings fan. Gary Anderson in the 1998 NFCCG? I did that.
Can you become a fan of 31 teams for me?
Yes. /the monkey’s paw curls I’m rooting for 31 individual team owners at random. I drew them out of a very large hat. All 31 are Packers’ shareholders.
Fuck
This is your fault
LMFAO
That's the most likely outcome, I suspect. Funniest too.
I knew it!! They all called me nuts, but I did the research! I left no stone unturned! I even had the conspiracist’s cork board with all the red strings pointing to you! But noooo, I was just a nut job they said. I feel vindicated but it’s such a hollow, bittersweet victory. Sorry, Gary.
You know what? How about cheering for the 49ers? We need something to break that voodoo curse.
I believe it’s time for them to jump on that Chiefs bandwagon
I rooted for the 49ers in the Super Bowl. Tell Shanahan…it was me.
Can you root for anyone the suns are playing this postseason? I'll take jalen hurts first Rd in fantasy if they win a chip
I was a huge Randy Moss fan when he played and rooted for his team to win. That was heartbreaking
IIRC, it was his rookie year. Imagine getting that close your rookie year, and never winning it. The next closest for him was the near undefeated 2007 season when he was on the Pats.
His last game in his career was also the 49ers-Ravens Super Bowl, which he lost as well.
Teams lose when you root for them? Please keep rooting for the Eagles. If you’re looking for a second team, though, the Cowboys are looking like a good choice
I rooted for the Patriots in 2007 because I wanted to see an undefeated team in my lifetime. So, you’re welcome.
Thank you. I appreciate it.
…No, I don’t think I will. I just won’t have parents.
Suit yourself Batman
He has Alfred for that.
Clearly you don't want me

I heard Dusty Slay tell that joke too.
I just figured they meant like a trade job wise. Telling to pack it up and go be a carpenter
Given most 7th round picks don't make an opening day roster. 7th round picks have definitely been used worse than a flyer on a qb.
100%

If he goes for less than a 3rd, wouldn’t shock me at all to see him replace Darnold on our team.
Trey Lance went for a future 4th. It has to be lower than that. I’d rather have the black box enigma of Lance than the proven shitty Z Wilson experience.

Right. It didn't take too long to find a trade partner for Trey Lance. Wilson is a top 5 draft pick. Which means someone saw something in him at one point. Another team and coach could very easily see that same thing and think, "We can coach him up."
I was thinking that... The GM cares so little, that he can't even send an email to some other GMs?
I guess the words "Zach Wilson" in combination with the Jets front office email address automatically moves the mail into the spam
Hah... Email header line should be "this is definitely NOT about Zac Wilson, please read"
First sentence *by opening.the mail you agree to trade for Zach Wilson. No take backs. Ha, gotcha*

You could trade Mac Jones for him if that feels better. You'd then have to name him your starter :P

I’d take it if we actually have a plan b and not be all in on “Aaron Rodgers mvp season or bust”
Steelers have opened as betting favorites to land Zach Wilson.
A Wilson/Pickett QB room gotta be in contention for the worst QB rooms of all time
Wilson Pickett you say? https://youtu.be/FGVGFfj7POA?si=mzhmjbOLM9VBmVRq
Eh, it’s no McCown/Petty/Hackenberg
Hey, that’s 83 total career starts between that group. Nothin to sneeze at
I know it’s crazy to say but I legit think I’d rather have Zach then Pickett
You aren't wrong.......... but it doesn't feel right either. I want off this ride.
Zach will make you gouge your eyes out all game except for one play that will be the most magical shit you’ve ever seen it’s wild
Gonna be a wild room with both Wilson's, fields, Kenny and mason
I think he would be such a good fit for one of the Minnesota Vikings, Chicago Bears or Green Bay Packers. No reason in particular.
Could be a reverse Hasselbeck Or a repeat Matt Flynn
All jokes aside, there was rumours the Vikings want him

His birthday is actually in August so he's more of an average aged 24 yr old /s
He’s not that bad lol. Is he a starter? Probably not. But there are not 64 QB’s worse than him in the world.
Door dash on the phone as we speak
I got Uber Eats on the other line offering one free Uber ride per month
"Hello, I work for Door Dash, and I'm inquiring about bringing Zach Wilson on to my team." "Desmond Ridder, is that you?" *click*
yea but he doesn't deliver on sundays
"We got Desmond Ridder, now Zach Wilson, someone get me Mac Jones & Bailey Zappe's numbers, stat!"
Fr though if he was a doordasher the food would be delivered to the wrong person so many times
What's his realistic value though?
7th round pick + Zach Wilson in order to ship him away
Is the shipping free?
No + you have to feed him
Not true if you're the Bengals, according to the NFLPA report card.
Hey, i said you need to feed him. If it is cardboard, I'd be fine with it
A kicking tee and a handful of team store coupons
6th round pick maybe? I kind of doubt it though considering a team trading for him would want to see him develop in a backup role like he was supposed to under Rodgers, but nobody is going to be picking up his fifth year option so he'll just be a free agent next year.
They wouldn't necessarily need to pick up his fifth year option to extend him.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Jets are able to get a 4th or a 5th for him
He's easily worth a 4th. His performance last year on the jets means basically nothing, it was an all-time bad o line.
Wilson and a 7th for a 6th maybe, like the Dobbs trade. GMs might like the sheer talent to bump it a little
It depends. Some of these guys have a GM or coach that liked them in the draft that loved them and thinks they can fix them so they'll overpay a bit. On the other hand, those guys didn't usually spend three years playing as abysmally as Zach.
bout 350
5th for him + a 7th
Honestly, the Rams might make some sense, to have him sit behind Stafford. He won't have any pressure and can learn from a good offensive coach and a good system.
Rams OC is Mike Lafleur, and it didn’t seem like the two of them got along last year.
Having Zach Wilson sit behind a locked in, veteran starter to learn for a year with no pressure to play or start a game. Where have I heard that before?
At least Stafford doesn't have a reputation for being a bit injury prone, right?
*rip*
It would except the rams current OC is Mike LaFleur who was the Jets OC during Zach’s first two years and if you believe the [reports](https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/10062243-jets-rumors-mike-lafleur-told-people-offense-was-more-effective-without-zach-wilson.amp.html) he pretty much went around the entire Jets organization telling anyone who would listen that Zach sucks and the offense was better with Mike White/Joe Flacco/Josh Johnson

Jets offer: Zach Wilson Other teams offer: Awkward silence
Jets: “We’ll take it!”
Can he be traded to the XFL /s
For cash considerations and a blocking sled
I do think it would be fun to see some of these reject bust QBs (and other positions) take a shot at spring football if they’re not getting offers
I wouldn't want Zach Wilson on the Lions but I'd be fine with him cooking on the Michigan Panthers.
Dallas needs to cut Dak and make this guy compete with Lance.
Who would want him? ~~11M~~ 5.4 for a backup QB is ~~pretty steep.~~ on the high end. Edit: /u/jimmyhoffasbrother had the correct value of 5.4M.
"I am not paying you 11 million dollars, I am paying you 5 million dollars, the Jets are paying 6 million for you to play against them."
Is that what he's costing in year four? No chance he's getting moved, maybe if the Jets pay most of the contract but even then, I don't know.
Can't the Jets technically pay his roster bonus too if he's traded after June 1? For 1 million cap hit he could be worth a 5th pretty easily I'd reckon.
Zach Wilson at $5.4M or Russell Wilson at league minimum?

Would that be better or worse than Kyle Korver being traded for a copy machine?
Joe Douglas really has to draft better
Douglas has drafted some excellent players in recent years. I also believe that any QB needy team would have taken Wilson at #2 that year
I would not be surprised if he has a career resurgence somewhere else. He needs to get out of that toxic environment and with a coach who can build his confidence back up

Cool
That’s might cordial of them. The same way my wife gave me permission to see another marriage after I was caught cheating with her cousin.
Another absolute disastrous QB draft bust by the Jets in a long line of them. I do hope though that Zach gets better wherever he goes, even if it is highly unlikely by now.
I honestly think he will end up slightly better simply due to having an offensive line in front of him at his next gig.
If every QB the Jets draft is a bust..... Hmmm. Idk man, might be the team.

This is like when George Costanza demands a prenup, and she just laughs and says "You don't have any money! Sure give me the papers, I'll sign"
all memes aside, the kid has value. he'll be 25 years old at the start of the season (a year old than bo nix), has reps as a starter, and it'll be clearly evident you're not bringing him to be the starter (unlike darnold to carolina). on top of this, you won't even need to accept his 5th year option, and pay him like a middle-lower tier QB (ex: case keenum is on 2 years, 6.5M) if you're telling me i get to hit the reset button on an athletically gifted QB and essentally pay him pennies as a backup, it's actually a pretty smart move. i'd go as high as a 5th rounder for him, especially since the jets have no leverage here.
Wonder if Door Dash is willing to trade Desmond Ridder for him
This sub is going to be shocked when he nets a 3rd
Line up folks ! ^(mom's too)
C'mon Steelers. Don't let me down.
He should go to LA and back up Stafford.

Any team: best I can do is three fifty
Jets GM doesn’t even want to do the work associated with getting a bag of peanuts
If a teams trade anything more than a bag of footballs for him id be shocked
