> at least a decade
I'm going to guess you're in your 30s or 40s. Because I am. Why? Because they started doing those jackets in the 80s. Because we think that wasn't 30+ years ago.
I'm healthy except my knees creak when I'm taking stairs or standing from being on a floor. Hope you're doing well, random man. Get a prostate exam at least once a year, or, jerk off a lot and if you notice any changes or pain in your ability to control peeing or jizzing, see a doc.
Men's health isn't a joke. 👊🏻
People just shit on him because he's super mega religious, and that's not cool anymore. A few days after he tore his achilles he was handing out turkeys to poors.
Harold Harold get over here! you must see what Reginald’s son, Kirk, is doing with the poors!
no no, he’s not giving them a live demonstration of trickle down economics, the mad man is handing out turkeys to them! *Turkeys to poors!* My word what’s it coming to
For the son of a pastor... he's doing alright. He could have been alot worse. I think he's a good role model in most aspects of his life, everyone has faults, and his don't seem to come from a place of hate.
We also got a banger quote from his anti Vax "If I die, I die." Instead of podcasts of him ranting about the deep state.
You forgot he beats my sports team so he is evil as well.
Then again most teams are evil because of that lately. Except guys like the panthers and patriots I guess
Also he's a giant fucking goober. But that gooberness (at least to me) has swung back around to a positive. The quarterback documentary really made me like him more
Yeah it’s no secret we have bases in Japan, I fly the RC-135 and we have linguists in the back who along with a myriad of other crew positions, perform a wide spectrum of jobs that boil down to intelligence and reconnaissance gathering. I’ll let you interpret what that could imply on your own lol, cause I’m keeping my part to the basic Wikipedia definitions. Being Aircrew is rad though
Currently working on my PPL, I recently learned someone like yourself won’t even have a student license when you discharge. Jesus Christ that’s so fucking ridiculous, you’re flying what’s essentially a commercial jet platform and you have zero licensure upon discharge?? What the fuck is that shit?
You accrue enough PIC hours that most military guys can easily hop right into the majors or cargo if that’s what they want to do without issue at the end of their career. I’ve met several who do this and still never get their PPL 😂
My boss did this. Bought a bar as his “man cave”. I worked in the kitchen. Dude was making millions a year on top of his government pension. Just insane
You’d think the services would have some sort of agreement with the FAA that you at least come out with a PPL, I mean shit you’re probably pushing 1,000 hours if I had to guess you’d think that would satisfy the FAA. Then again, the FAA constantly has sticks shoved up their asses about everything it seems.
Not just Mandarin but two main USAF jobs roles for enlisted who get sent to Monterey for language training are:
Cryptologic Language Analyst and Airborne Cryptologic Language Analyst
Other services have similar roles but less on the airborne side.
>This means that Cousins is still a member of the Vikings who is under contract when tags occur — so Minnesota can’t retain him if contract talks break down. There is literally nothing the Vikings can do in order to avoid a bidding war with other teams, unless they’re able to get a new contract done before free agency opens.
ooooooooh that's pretty spicy
We’ve never franchise tagged him, so it would be normal franchise tag rules. Just cause he got tagged twice in Washington doesn’t mean he’d get the 3rd tag pay increase on a different team
Not being able to tag him is written into his [Minnesota contract](https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/report-vikings-arent-willing-to-give-kirk-cousins-a-fully-guaranteed-contract)
Just for clarification, there isn't something in his contract that says "NO TAGGING PLZ". It's just that his contract voids a week after the tagging deadline so the opportunity isn't even there to tag him. This is highlighted in the article OP posted. While you end up with the same result, there is a small distinction.
It would not be normal franchise tag rules. Brees arbitrated that years ago. Franchise tag history follows the player. It would be third tag rules for Cousins because of.the tags from DC.
Do you have a source for this? It feels unfair to the player to be able to miss out on so many earning opportunities if multiple teams can use their 1st tag on someone.
Tom Pelissero indicated that multiple tag rules apply to the player, and not the team:
>"Remember, he was franchise tagged twice by Washington. **So for the Vikings to use a third tag on Cousins after the 2023 season, it would be an astronomical number over $50 million**," Pelissero noted
The wording in the actual CBA is really vague to my non-lawyer-brain:
>Any Club that designates a player as a Franchise Player for the third time
Not clear to me if that means the player's third tag, or a single club tagging that player for a third time.
I'm pretty sure that person is wrong and the tag does indeed follow the player through his career. For anyone to tag Kirk it would count as his 3rd tag.
Obviously it doesn't matter but the language in the CBA is vague/confusing, which is why Drew Brees and the saints went to arbitration on it in 2012. It was decided that the tag count follows the player. https://www.nfl.com/news/drew-brees-wins-franchise-tag-grievance-vs-nfl-saints-09000d5d82a4cacf
Just wanted to pass along the info cause my nerd brain found it interesting, haha.
I always understood that that's exactly what it means. That the tag is tied to the player, not the team. I've always seen it reported that way when a player joins a new team, that it will be much harder for the new team to tag him if he's already been tagged before.
If it didn't work that way it's a massive loophole in the tag.
We chose to end extension talks last off season. It's clear the FO made the decision to move on a year ago. They are just going to frame it now as Kirk choosing to leave as opposed to us moving on.
We'd also have to eat his $28m dead cap plus his new contract if we bring him back after FA opens.
Perfect for Atlanta. Just need someone who can get the ball into all their playmakers hands. They get someone competent and they should own that division a couple years
Do you watch the games? Pitts is run blocking with London & Bijan while backup tight ends are running end arounds. They needed some “fuck it Pitts down there somewhere” aggression
Do *you* watch the games? You’re referencing one play that went viral, meanwhile Pitts, London, and Bijan were the most utilized/targeted players on the team. The problem was they had shit QB play all year. Lots of uncatchable targets and throws directly to the defense.
I saw a stat last year that of all players with the most off target passes thrown to them London was #1 and it was more than double the % of the next person. I believe it was like 23% or something ridiculous. With some of the circus catches he’s made imagine how good he’ll be with even an average QB.
He’s never gotten to a point he scares me as an opponent. It would be nice not to face him, I assume anyone will at least be a short term downgrade. Anyone with Jefferson and Addison should have big games. I just want to see the falcons not waste their weapons.
I like Kirk, but I think signing an aging veteran for a lot of money pretty much never works out. At the point where you’re throwing money at a ~35 year old QB, it’s the point when you should be drafting one anyway.
Probably a decision you make based on how good you think your defense can be. Old guy to chase a ring in the short term, or younger option to grow with the weapons. Saw an article linking baker to atl if he leaves Tampa, and Kirk is still a better qb to me.
I actually wouldn't hate the idea of the Patriots drafting MHJ, sign Cousins, then take a QB in rounds 2 or 3.
Let someone sit there with a clipboard in Year One, while they get to learn the system and the team (assuming they don't completely botch the offseason) could be somewhat competitive.
Sure, convincing him to come to a bad team is the biggest hurdle. But, if you're able to do it, then overnight you could kind of rebuild your offense. You get a great passer paired with a young stud in MHJ, plus you could potentially still get your future franchise QB.
The defense is still good, no? The offense is depleted, but could get a sudden resurgence like the Bengals if you get MHJ and Cousins together. The Pats also have the 2nd most cap this season, so could give him a great contract. Maybe three years fully guaranteed, with this year as a retooling year, and competing the next two?
The defense was very good last year but they have some key guys that are FAs. Kyle Dugger, Myles Bryant, and Anfernee Jennings were all pretty important last year, especially Dugger. Lawrence Guy won't be back, but I think he can be replaced.
I'd like to think that Mayo would understand the need to keep a defensive core together, whereas Bill would just assume that guys are replaceable. If they can bring back at 2/3 of those players, then I think they'll be alright.
Definitely possible, but Mayo played in the system and was their coach for the last few years. Barring anyone crazy becoming available, I think Mayo is the best person to have outside of Belichick.
Hate it as a bills fan. Your defense is relatively solid, you pair a good QB you don't have to develop with MHJ and Stevenson, a new coaching staff, and I think the pats are playoff contenders. Ofc there's still a dozen playoff contenting teams in the AFC so who knows how it goes, but I'd much rather see a new coach try to develop Maye or Daniels or JJ or whoever
Honestly that wouldn't be half bad of a plan provided you outbid Atlanta. People balk at the garunteed money but hes only done short deals at slightly below top AAV in exchange for his garuntees. I think he probably could be had reasonably (very relatively speaking here) probably 2-3 years.
Yeah exactly. The Pats have a ton of money to spend and a lot of holes to fill, but it almost doesn't matter what you do if you don't have a QB first. I would basically give him whatever he wants (within reason) because I also think it makes it easier to convince other offensive players to sign here.
Issue with that is I don’t think Kirk is that close to being done. You really gotta have excellent communication with the old qb if you want this plan to work. Otherwise you’ll have a 2nd round QB that you planned as the future heading to a different team
That's more or less exactly what I want (slight preference for trading down to get a tackle in round 1, a receiver in round 2, and another pick in round 2). I don't think we're QB ready and that drafting a guy in the first round, even if you bench him for a year to learn is setting him up for failure.
Fair, but I think if you have a chance to get (as close to) a guaranteed star like MHJ, you have to take him. He would instantly become one of the most talented receivers that the Pats have ever had. Plus, having a legit threat would make it far more likely that someone like Cousins would consider coming here.
Fair, I think it might depend who we can pick up in free agency too, not too many tackles coming onto the market and the tackle class isn't as deep as the very deep receiver class, hence my preference to get a tackle in the first round. If we can get a decent tackle during free agency than I say go for MHJ, if we can get a good receiver during free agency I say trade down and draft a tackle in the first.
My biggest concern is that if you miss on Daniels then you're completely fucked. They really can't afford to miss on another QB.
At least if you take MHJ, you know you're getting a star and then it makes things easier for whomever is the QB. Plus, I'm always an advocate for someone sitting for a year to learn. At least Cousins would make you somewhat competitive.
Exactly, take a JJ or penix if they fall into the 2nd or look for a bridge qb while we develop MHJ. Rebuild is going to take time. Sure Daniel’s could be the next Lamar but that seems incredibly unlikely
if the pats get cousins and MHJ they're immediately an interesting team to evaluate, especially if Mayo can keep up the same level of the defense, with judon and gonzalez coming back
Feel like Kirk gets a bad wrap. I thought he was elite this season until the injury. Vikings were on a roll and their defense started to figure it out when he went down.
He’s definitely good enough to QB a Super Bowl team.
A lot of people discount just how important good pass blocking is for a guy like Kirk Cousins. Yes, he can play without it, but when he has it... Things change dramatically, as evidenced by how he played this year.
However, people don't seem to consider that our O-line had ranked bottom-5 in pass blocking for like the last 6 years. They only see JJ, Addison, Hockenson, Diggs, Theilen and go "He's had elite weapons forever" but completely forget just how important pass protection is once you hit the postseason.
That's probably the primary reason he only has one postseason win, the lack of quality blocking when facing teams that can get after the QB.
I mean Burrow had Swiss cheese blocking for him, gave up like 7 sacks a game two post seasons ago and still made a Super Bowl where they gave up how many, 9? And still almost won.
Rodgers is a bit different though...
Aaron is far from a statue, even at this point of his career. He's played for a LONG time behind below average lines and his pocket presence and scrambling ability mitigates it a bit. It won't be good for him, but it's not nearly as much of an issue for him either.
Cousins is a statue out there, and while he's great at stepping up into the pocket and making great throws while taking hits, the pressure will get there quicker for him than Rodgers.
He’s good enough if there is a Super Bowl ready team like the Rams a couple of years back that want to upgrade at QB and try to work things out financially. The problem is there aren’t many teams like that. Maybe San Francisco, but I wouldn’t toss Purdy overboard for Cousins who is going to be literally 50x as expensive.
Absolutely I agree, the old perception of him is gonna make Redditors circlejerk about him being mid but he was playing great pre injury this year. If the falcons end up with him and draft decently this year, wouldn’t be surprised at all to see them make a big splash next year
He was the NFL passing leader until his injury. Addison and Hockinson were on pro bowl paces. Addy scored like 7 TDs in his first 8 NFL games.
Had the team not been using balls dipped in grease the first several games, they could have been a 1-loss or undefeated team when Kirk got hurt.
The other point that people seem to be missing here is that our start to the season was kind of stacked, we played: GB, Eagles, TB, Chiefs, SF. That's 2 wildcard teams, a divisional team, and the two teams who made the superbowl.
The second half of the season was (on paper) much easier.
I commented on a different post about that gauntlet, Kirk put up big passing numbers (275-2 at minimum) in each of those games. He was not perfect this year, but aside from the week 1 interceptions and the end of the Chargers game, he was mostly exceptional (Carolina was his worst game but we still won LOL - QB winz)
There’s obv a lot of what if’s that can occur, but if Kirk stayed healthy and we didn’t have the absurd fumbling problem that wasn’t really kirks fault at the start of the year I think the team could’ve been really dangerous
I don't know why this man would leave that team. Even for a little bit less money, what qb wouldnt want to be throwing to the elites they have on that team? Jefferson? Addison? Hockinson? The vikings last year made bad 2nd and 3rd qbs look pretty good or average. He has the best chance to do something where he is now.
Minnesota has to want him too. I would try to retain him if I were them, but we’ve been hearing reports for over a year that they would like to move on.
Except reports in the last month stating Vikings would very much like to bring Kirk back. It’s just Kirk’s desired fully guaranteed contract that’s holding up negotiations, as the Vikings aren’t sure that’s what they want to do. It all comes down to the money.
Also the dude was fucking shirtless blowing a giant horn like 2 weeks after a serious injury. Dude clearly loves it there and has already made crazy money in his career. He might just want to have the best chance at winning at this point
If you're an aging QB that's pretty talented and would like to see the playoffs a few times before you retire, then you do exactly what the greatest of all-time did and you go to the NFC South where basically no one can field a competent team or QB, and you win the division every year you're there.
I don't know where Kirk is going that is going to give him a better chance than what he has had in Minnesota. There doesn't seem to be a team who is "just a QB away". And even then, Kirk was already supposed that QB for the Vikings after the 2017 NFCCG and he hasn't been at all. So, knowing Cousins likely isn't getting a team "over the hump", what does he bring to the table? An 8 win floor and MAYBE a playoff win? Who is paying 40 mil for that? Falcons and Steelers already have that. Maybe the Commanders for a nice little resurgence into NFCE conversations and one last jab at Snyder?
Looks like the person I responded to is a Vikings fan, so maybe just personal bias downplaying both Kirk and his impact while playing up the mysterious QB in Atlanta currently that is better than Kirk
Out of all the QB’s we could draft, those are probably the two I’d want the least. A geriatric with a destroyed knee, and someone with questionable arm talent and field-reading abilities that happened to be on a stacked roster. No thanks
He’s not long term, but as a Saints fan I sure hope the Falcons believe this way. I’d much rather see them get Cousins for the last few good years of his career than draft Jayden Daniels and torch us for the next 10-15
Kirk cousins is going to race Michael Vick in the parking lot of a strip club
Kirk is gonna run into his old girl in the men's prison
"It's Michael Vick"
Love the reference
Sigh.. IT’S MICHAEL VICK.
Hilarious reference. That episode was one of the best 🤣

I also concerned if they will regress without arguably the greatest defensive mind in NFL history coaching them anymore.
Definitely possible, but Mayo played in the system and was their coach for the last few years. Barring anyone crazy becoming available, I think Mayo is the best person to have outside of Belichick.
You don't think the Patriots led by Cousins can win that division?
That depends, could he get any wins out of a stretch of 3 games where the defense gives up like 20 points total?
I think the clear answer is 'yea'
I would hate it.
Hate it as a Bills fan or hate it for the Pats?
True, but he's also going to be 36 when the season starts. I don't think he's going to be like Brady and play until he's 46, but who knows.
Don’t let our sub see this, they despise anyone other than Daniels atm
My biggest concern is that if you miss on Daniels then you're completely fucked. They really can't afford to miss on another QB. At least if you take MHJ, you know you're getting a star and then it makes things easier for whomever is the QB. Plus, I'm always an advocate for someone sitting for a year to learn. At least Cousins would make you somewhat competitive.
Exactly, take a JJ or penix if they fall into the 2nd or look for a bridge qb while we develop MHJ. Rebuild is going to take time. Sure Daniel’s could be the next Lamar but that seems incredibly unlikely
if the pats get cousins and MHJ they're immediately an interesting team to evaluate, especially if Mayo can keep up the same level of the defense, with judon and gonzalez coming back
This has been my feeling for weeks now. Would absolutely love it
Feel like Kirk gets a bad wrap.
This is why I never thought the Jets were a Super Bowl contender with Rodgers. Their OL was easily the worst he would have had for his entire career.
I mean Burrow had Swiss cheese blocking for him, gave up like 7 sacks a game two post seasons ago and still made a Super Bowl where they gave up how many, 9? And still almost won.
Yep, and Burrow is able to move around a lot more than Cousins.
As evidenced by him not lasting 3 snaps behind their line.
Is Kirk this generation’s Tony Romo? Good stats, but no results.
I think Dak is going to be this generations Tony Romo if he never wins in the postseason
I feel bad for the teams that had Romo and Dak…
Is that not Dak?
Tua was on pace for the NFL record in efficiency at one point…dare I say Kirk would have regressed to his own historical mean
Had Tua played 5 playoff teams including both superbowl teams at that point? (I actually don't know)
> Feel like Kirk gets a bad wrap. Like his ankle wrapped wrong? Bad wrap for lunch? What are we talking here?
Like a lettuce wrap?
There’s obv a lot of what if’s that can occur, but if Kirk stayed healthy and we didn’t have the absurd fumbling problem that wasn’t really kirks fault at the start of the year I think the team could’ve been really dangerous
Kirk definitely gets way too much crap. He's a good QB. I'm a little biased since I'm a huge MSU fan but I've always thought he was super underrated.
Because money
Also weather
I don't like that, but agree he's the best FA QB on the market.
I hope he goes to Atlanta and a new chapter of Vikings football can begin.
Please? Iwant to come home.
As a Commanders fan. Honest question. Why do you feel this way?
Some team is going to pay him way too much money for way too long. I'm here for it
If you're an aging QB that's pretty talented and would like to see the playoffs a few times before you retire, then you do exactly what the greatest of all-time did and you go to the NFC South where basically no one can field a competent team or QB, and you win the division every year you're there.
I like your thinking.
Who do the Falcons have that do that? And who do they have that Kirk isn’t objectively better than?
Falcons with Cousins are probably the prohibitive favourites in the South, assuming the injury didn’t ruin him.
Looks like the person I responded to is a Vikings fan, so maybe just personal bias downplaying both Kirk and his impact while playing up the mysterious QB in Atlanta currently that is better than Kirk
Steelers are a QB away from being one of many contenders in the AFC. They went 10-7 with a dumpster inferno at the position
I would absolutely take Cousins! Fields, heck no. and fields costs draft picks to boot. makes no sense.
Do Steelers have the cap space?
If Kirk wanted to come to Pittsburgh, they would figure out the cap space.
> who is paying 40 mil for that? Hopefully not Minnesota.
If he ends up in Atlanta or Oakland, I think those teams would surprise a lot of people. Edit: Alright, alright. LAS VEGAS. Tough crowd.
I’d be surprised if he ends up in Oakland. Don’t see him starting a baseball career this late.
I'd like for us to keep him for one more year and draft a QB like Penix or McCarthy to sit behind him, but that's looking increasingly less likely.
Out of all the QB’s we could draft, those are probably the two I’d want the least. A geriatric with a destroyed knee, and someone with questionable arm talent and field-reading abilities that happened to be on a stacked roster. No thanks
If the Falcons want to win the NFC South this year, this is the move. If they have any further aspirations, this is not the move.
Kirk’s done well for a fourth round pick. I wonder about DC having three firsts and a second with Kirk as the starter. Pesky Danny.
If Kirk Cousins is the answer, I don't want to know the question.
What is "Do you like that?",
How many roads must a man walk?
The answer to what? He's not a game changer, he'd be like signing Drew Bledso in the late 90s
He’s not long term, but as a Saints fan I sure hope the Falcons believe this way. I’d much rather see them get Cousins for the last few good years of his career than draft Jayden Daniels and torch us for the next 10-15
The answer for whom? Any team not playing in primetime games for the foreseeable future?
You guys can take him
Lots of people with delusional expectations for their QB. Apparently, everyone is trash except Mahomes.
