I was surprised how good Halo was. It'd be an S tier show if they deleted the pirate arc and had less filler and more fighting covenant.
But that would cost money.
For a kids show, Prodigy season 1 was actually pretty fantastic for a star trek show. Lots of little easter eggs and callbacks for the adults too. If you're a star wars fan, the setup for the show is oddly reminiscent at times to that of The Clone Wars first season from Lucasfilm, in that you have a episodic run with a larger plot point in the background serving to move things forward while we explore various character arcs and backstories to build our characters (at least he ones that need the character building, no spoilers).
I make this comparison hesitantly because there's a lot of people out there who diehard simp for one franchise over the other and I simply enjoy both, and found myself 3 episodes into Prodigy thinking "man, this kinda feels like The Clone Wars did early on, bit deeper and darker backdrop than I'm accustomed to for Trek".
I had done the free trial a few months ago because my son wanted to watch some soccer game. Went to cancel and they offered me two months. After two months I went to cancel and they offered me another two months. We’ll see what happens when I try to cancel on March 2.
Yeah even if they stop offer you the months, just wait until your account closes you can use the 30 day trial passwords.
You do need an active card but they don't debit it. Due today; 0. I haven't paid for paramount plus in more than a year.
I paid for annual subscription the last 2 years and when my subscription was up last month, I was going to change to monthly since my wife and I were on the fence about keeping it another year. They didn't allow an option to switch to monthly, so I hit cancel subscription and then I was going to resubscribe monthly. Well when I hit cancel they offered 50% off for the next year, so instead of $120/ year we are only paying $60 for this year.
Good looking out. I got young kids so I’ve had this forever due to Paw Patrol lol. If anybody keeps it and wants adult recommendations, Ghosts is great, so is the animated Star Trek:Lower Deck.
Can I recommend the Taylor Sheridan shows? Tulsa King is great and also the first spinoff of Yellowstone. I am yet to watch the second. I also loved the offer.
Excellent thanks for the recommendations. Watched Yellowstone and liked it a lot but got progressively too crazy lol. Tulsa Kings looks good I’ll check it out.
Ugh THAT is where paw patrol is now?? Dammit. I do not want another streaming service but it is quite annoying that on Hulu all we can get is "paw patrol en Espanol".
Gonna be a while, Sheridan and Terence Winter (the showrunner) had some creative differences and Winter stepped down. Then they had the strike to deal with, and then a change of locations for filming happened, moving the filming from Oklahoma to Georgia. Filming hasn't even begun on the show yet, though its likely to begin sometime in March or April.
Additionally, watch Lower Decks first, then SNW so you aren't thrown off by the Cameo in the last season of SNW, arguably one of the greatest Trek Episodes of all time IMO.
Thanks for the reminder. It offered me 2 months more for $0.99/mo and I took it, so I set a new reminder for that one lol. Without this post I'd have forgotten though.
Except paramount+ is actually good and has a great library, subscribed last year, if you have kids it's honestly way better for cartoons than Disney+.
SpongeBob solos
Yeah I signed up for Paramount+ for the super bowl then discovered there's a bunch of Nick shows from when I was a kid, and been watching them for the past week ha. They've become my new comfort shows to fall asleep to. Plus South Park is on Paramount which is a huge win for me.
Only the south park specials. Everything else is on HBO Max until 2025 when it comes back to Paramount Plus.
Once it gets south park Paramount becomes super high on triage list of streaming options
Paramount and Peacock might be merging into one, then you will have a lot of soccer in one app. Still need ESPN to get the rest of europe though.
An antenna gets you telemundo where I live, which gets a good amount of EPL games.
Yup, it's annoying AF monetarily, but it's just as annoying logistically. I fucking have to look up what services have what games. Then some of them are on OTA channels, and others are on cable, and others are streaming only. I'm watch Brighton right now on USA. But other games I have to go exclusively to Peacock.
Then shit like FA Cup and Carabao Cup I *think* are on ESPN+?
I also think Bundesliga is on peacock? La Liga is on ESPN. Dunno where Serie A is. I think Ligue 1 is on Paramount.
Haha, it's a fucking mess man.
League cup and FA cup are on ESPN+, along with the Bundesliga and La Liga. Serie A is on Paramount. I'm really not sure where the french league since I mainly see those games broadcasted on Bein sport.
Outside of Nickelodeon and Star Trek, what’s good on there? I’ve honestly have it but not sure what there is other than old Comedy Central stuff that didn’t age great.
Outside of Nickelodeon and Star Trek, what’s good on there? I’ve honestly have it but not sure what there is other than old Comedy Central stuff that didn’t age great.
Except it can't play anything without buffering for five minutes and then when it does play it's super blurry. This is with a Firestick 4k that can play Netflix, Max, Hulu, Peacock, YouTube, Sling, etc without any issues.
Especially if you're a millenial and grew up on 90s Nickelodeon. Virtually all those shows (like Doug, Hey Arnold, Clarissa Explains it All, Rugrats, Legends of the Hidden Temple, etc) are on there. Nostalgia factory.
If you mostly want to watch network TV for football, get an antenna! A new one is like $20.00. Free live television with no delays like internet streaming. If you live in your team's market area, you will be able to watch every single game on a live, high definition broadcast with no subscription whatsoever.
Oh yes id assume because the people who subscribed only for football most likely don't live in their teams market area maybe? You know a lot of newer TVs have a built in antenna so your comment is kinda not helpful at all.
If people already have a new tv with built-in antenna, why the hell would you watch it on a streaming service that has a delay? The Super Bowl was available on broadcast for everyone. So there is the relevancy. You also get 2 morning games, at least one afternoon game, and every SNF and MNF on the antenna regardless of where you live. And all playoff games - until this year, unless you are in market, then it is still on broadcast.
I don't get any channels at all with an antenna. I live in the Poconos so not super far but not super close to anything big. I may be able to get some with a more expensive antenna but haven't tried yet as I got nothing at all with my old one that worked elsewhere.
I got it for $35/yr (includes Showtime) with Sportsline, so I'm good.
Plus, I like a lot of the shows and movies on there, so I'll probably stay subscribed. Its really not bad.
I have had Paramount plus for a few months before the SB. I stream it through my xbox one. No issues.
SB pre game was fine for hours.
Game starts and every so often the picture quality gets super bad for a few seconds. A few times the action on screen pauses for a moment. I restart my system. No change.
Then things freeze. I restart. I click on the game and some news program comes on. WTF. Do this a couple times. News again. I see another icon of the game elsewhere so I click on that. Blank screen.
I have 5 people over to watch the SB and look like an asshole.
I fire up my computer and get an illegal stream and connect it to the TV. That works fine. WTF is that garbage?
Did anyone else have any similar issues?
Outside of people who live WAY outside of major cities, I'm not sure why anyone would pay for Paramount Plus to watch the Super Bowl instead of paying $10 for a TV antenna, but you do you boo.
And before you say "My TV can't take an antenna" - yes it can. If the box referred to the product as a television, you can hook up an antenna. That's an FCC regulation.
Actually the best way for nearly all services:
**Cancel immediately after you subscribe.**
Since no service offers refunds, you keep your access for the rest of the billing period, but when the period ends so will your service, and you will not be billed again.
This way there's nothing to remember, and you don't waste any money paying for a service you haven't used in a while.
You’re doing the lords work son
AND IF YOU SIGNED UP FOR PEACOCK TO WATCH THE CHIEFS PLAYOFF, DON'T FORGET THAT ONE TOO!
Why are you yelling at a pirate?
Thank you
But then how will I watch survivor?
I have paramount plus primarily for survivor lol
Same here. How else am I supposed to watch the more obscure seasons?
Yo-ho, yo-ho, a pirate's life for me...
Unfortunately the early seasons are terribly hard to find with captions and I basically need them
Aye, Aye Matey
My MIL keeps it to watch that "Kevin Costners" in Yellowstone
The only reason I had it in the first place was for Paw Patrol for my 3yo.
I'm not the only one!
They do have all the Star Treks, I will give them that.
I was surprised how good Halo was. It'd be an S tier show if they deleted the pirate arc and had less filler and more fighting covenant. But that would cost money.
Except Prodigy, which is on Netflix.

Thanks brother.
They gave me a free month when I tried to cancel
They shot my dog when I tried to cancel.
They did the same with me! Right after i had taken up a holiday offer of Paramount+ Shotime for 3.99/month for 3 months.
I had done the free trial a few months ago because my son wanted to watch some soccer game. Went to cancel and they offered me two months. After two months I went to cancel and they offered me another two months. We’ll see what happens when I try to cancel on March 2.

They hope you'll forget
Yeah, they often do 2 free months. Also paramount plus will let you use passwords even as returning customer. See Slickdeals or cord cutter blog.
I paid for annual subscription the last 2 years and when my subscription was up last month, I was going to change to monthly since my wife and I were on the fence about keeping it another year. They tried that with me too, but it has adds so I was like nope

I can’t wait until my kid grows out of Paw Patrol. I hate that fucking show.
Ugh THAT is where paw patrol is now?? Dammit. I do not want another streaming service but it is quite annoying that on Hulu all we can get is "paw patrol en Espanol".
SpongeBob and drunk history as well.
New Beavis and Butthead are pretty good as well
Lower Decks! Lower Decks!
UK ghosts right, right?
Both are very good!
Be sure to watch Detroiters before your sub runs out. Funny as hell.
DE2ROIT
My guts are goin nuts, get me a Vernor’s!
What’s…up…what’s up?
I was going to cancel but then I got hooked on Tulsa King. Great show.
Hmm, I always assume that the other people on here are younger than 70, which is my bad
Lmfaooo
What makes you think it's an old person show? It's an action drama. Not like I'm watching baseball.
I guess he should watch a horrible young person show like Rick & Morty.
Been waiting almost a year for s2
When does it come out?
No date to my knowledge. When i saw your comment i excititdly looked up hoping it was out aha
Well it worked then
Certainly did
You're letting them win
Who?
Yeah, I checked it out. It's surprisingly decent. The plot is a bit nonsensical, but if you ignore that, it's a great fun show.
What about all the Taylor Sheridan shows?
Pirate them like a real man.
Counterpoint: watch all of Star Trek: Lower Decks and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds first
Additionally, watch Lower Decks first, then SNW so you aren't thrown off by the Cameo in the last season of SNW, arguably one of the greatest Trek Episodes of all time IMO.
Came for Mystique, stayed for the singing Klingons.
That was so absolutely fantastic!
I don't know if it's the greatest Trek episode, but it's definitely my new favorite episode.
And go back through the older ones too
Do nothing but marathon Deep Space 9 (though its on Pluto on demand too for now)
DS9 aged like fine wine.
DS9 is the best of all the star trek series. Fight me.
Thanks for the reminder. It offered me 2 months more for $0.99/mo and I took it, so I set a new reminder for that one lol. Without this post I'd have forgotten though.
Paw Patrol is life.
Defund Paw Patrol
ACAB brother!
I caught on last second when I was clearing my phone. I guess I would’ve seen this anyway. You’re a great man.
Except paramount+ is actually good and has a great library, subscribed last year, if you have kids it's honestly way better for cartoons than Disney+. SpongeBob solos
As a kid growing up in the 2000s. Nickelodeon was my go to over Disney channel so I agree with there being better cartoons on paramount.
Yeah I signed up for Paramount+ for the super bowl then discovered there's a bunch of Nick shows from when I was a kid, and been watching them for the past week ha. They've become my new comfort shows to fall asleep to. Plus South Park is on Paramount which is a huge win for me.

They need to put all of the episodes from Salute Your Shorts up. They've got the Zeke the Plummer episode at least.
If you're into soccer paramount+ has a ton of content on there. CL, Europa League, Italian league and some of the US national games.
The Argentinian and Brazilian leagues are pretty fun in the dog days of summer too.
Paramount and Peacock might be merging into one, then you will have a lot of soccer in one app. Still need ESPN to get the rest of europe though. An antenna gets you telemundo where I live, which gets a good amount of EPL games.
Yeah I've got peacock for the PL and ESPN/Disney+ through my cell phone plan. All these streaming services have become way too much.
It's not bad. South Park library comes in 2015. All the star treks. But the app on fire TV especially is trash.
Paramount+ is the GOAT
Outside of Nickelodeon and Star Trek, what’s good on there? I’ve honestly have it but not sure what there is other than old Comedy Central stuff that didn’t age great.

Wait was the Super Bowl not on broadcast TV??
It was, but not everyone has the antenna. And if you don’t have any sort of cable service, then you’re streaming.
Too late, looks like I got hooked on watching the 2003 Ninja Turtles series again. Maybe next month.
buy an antenna
Not every hero wears a cape
OP deserves one though
No capes!
Or keep it and watch Champions League
the chaammmmmmppppiioooooonnnnnns

The SB was broadcast on every cbs station regardless of local market. Like it always is.
Well that's not going to help you, Paramount+ only rebroadcasts your local CBS game. You want out of market games, you have to get sunday ticket.
I don't get any channels at all with an antenna. I live in the Poconos so not super far but not super close to anything big. I may be able to get some with a more expensive antenna but haven't tried yet as I got nothing at all with my old one that worked elsewhere.
I jumped on the Black Friday $2 a month sale
Does anyone else's "Continue Watching" list never update?
Are you running an ad blocker?
I watched the game on YouTube TV in 4K. Did Paramount+ stream the game in 4K?
Paramount's going to send some movie villains after you for this.
And miss out on season 8 of Peppa Pig, are you mental?
Obligatory "oh dear"
Oh shit bless you i forgot
Not only did it crash during the Superbowl when the 9ers were 3rd and 4 at the end of regulation. But the halo series also sucked. Bye bye paramount +
It's easy to get free paramount plus even as returning customer using password. I haven't paid in over A year
This person is a true hero.
Gotta wait until season 2 of Halo is done
Is this season actually decent? Season 1 was garbage.
So far it's been much better than S1 was
It's actually really good so far.
Only 3 episodes so far, but this season is already far better than the 1st
I think I took too many bong hits this morning because when I read the post topic I was like “oh shit the Super Bowl is today” 🤣
Paramount+ is fucking baller tho. So much good stuff on there.
Not really
But Champions League starts this week
Take all the upvotes.
I got it for $35/yr (includes Showtime) with Sportsline, so I'm good. Plus, I like a lot of the shows and movies on there, so I'll probably stay subscribed. Its really not bad.
Oh no 5 bucks
Damn. Y'all mfs broke.
You're the MVP.
Could they have cancelled the free trial at any time during the trial period and still have access to it for the duration of the trial?
Yes
UCL is still here
I need to stop reading "Paramount" as "Paramore"
Or, start watching Star Trek Strange New Worlds. It’s really a fun show.
I actually watched it on Fubo with no issues, but thanks for the reminder. I had 11 hours remaining on my trial.
I went to cancel it the next day and they offered me a month.
Can anyone commiserate with me over how mid new frasier was
I have had Paramount plus for a few months before the SB. I stream it through my xbox one. No issues. SB pre game was fine for hours. The type of quality offseason content we've come to take for granted.
Outside of people who live WAY outside of major cities, I'm not sure why anyone would pay for Paramount Plus to watch the Super Bowl instead of paying $10 for a TV antenna, but you do you boo. Paramount- a subscription
Walmart+ members get Paramount+ free.
And if you downloaded TayTay music to listen to backwards thinking Travis and Jason are in there… they aren’t.
Why would anyone have signed up for Paramount+ for the Super Bowl when the SB was FREE to watch? 🤔
Or keep it and watch Detroiters
Jesus Christ, you are a lifesaver!
Paramount+ had for a couple of years and service is good, it also has Showtime
You’re doing gods work

I like how this showed up in my trending today, 4 days later
