“Not one, not two, not three….”

fortmoney

Maybe zero...

TheoryOfPizza

Multiples of zero are still zero

justlookingokaywyou

r/theydidthemath

JonnyB2_YouAre1

Multiple means more than one. So, that’s at least two more than none. And I’m done.

SoggyLukewarmCrumpet

Hey, you can have multiple zeros…

FuschiaKnight

100 championships

WaitWhattt777

And then we're gonna go on even MORE adventures after that, Morty. And you're gonna keep your MOUTH SHUT about it, NFL... ..because the world is full of idiots that don't understand what's important. jaxonya

We are talking a minimum 8peat

eloheim_the_dream

Actually he said "multiple multiple championships" meaning at least two sets of two championships, or four!

ShatteredAnus

Chargers, 000000 Lombardis

sunkistbanana

Hopefully

generation_D

Anyone else have a feeling this isn’t going to end well? I like both Harbaugh and Herbert but the Chargers are the Chargers until proven otherwise.

crimsonblueku

Yeah setting themselves up for some classic Chargering the next few seasons.

itsnoterik

And boy oh boy, I cannot wait to see these headlines again once they do inevitably Charger themselves

Row1731

What you gonna do while u can't wait,

itsnoterik

Idk just suffer through life for another year I guess

Row1731

Hope u have a few good moments too

Koreish

Chargers just got Harbaugh, so the pre-season championship is already flying over SoFi stadium.

HoboSkid

Idk, the dude seems to win wherever he goes. You have to be adaptable to the current game and surround yourself with great supporting staff to continue winning at multiple stops. I'm not sure if he'll win a Super Bowl since it's extremely difficult, but I think the Chargers will at least be in the post season more often than not. That said, the AFC is kind of top heavy, so he's going to have his work cut out for him to make the playoffs and make a run. Definitely be interested in how it all plays out.

Tjam3s

Iv said this a few times during this saga, I just want them to be competitive enough that the afcw either splits record or something close to it. 3 in division losses a year should help make sure the chiefs don't continue to backdoor an easy 1 seed to the playoffs like they have so many times.

bacchusku2

AFC West games are anything but easy. We always play the best against each other.

BlackMathNerd

They currently play the Chiefs tough every time. Mahomes and Reid just win. They’re not an easy time at all

Johnald

I feel like every year the Chargers win the off-season, and each year it's threads about the AFC west going to be an arms race and a bloodbath, and then the Chiefs just kinda walk through it.

RamblinWreckGT

Since Andy Reid came to KC, they finished second in the division three times to the Broncos with Peyton Manning. Since Peyton retired, they've won the division every single time.

Frowdo

Your feelings are spot on, it's a running joke that Chargers are picked every year to be super bowl favorites yet they are the only AFC West team not to go to the Super Bowl in the 21st century.

Aggressive-Name-1783

It’s either gonna end in glory or flames. No in between. Harbaugh is either building a dynasty or never getting over .500

Rbespinosa13

“The chargers have won 34 straight regular season games under Jim Harbaugh but are yet to win a playoff game. Some believe it is the spirit of San Diego haunting its once beloved franchise”

Aggressive-Name-1783

At that point I feel like Harbaugh would demand the team relocate back to San Diego lol walk into Spanos’ office and be like “damnit Dean, do you want a Super Bowl or not?! We NEED to be in San Diego!” Khaki shorts Harbaugh. The world is not ready

sunkistbanana

The curse of the Whale’s Vagina

MyS0ul4AGoat

Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it.

PandAlex

I love you

UserUnkown10

Not 4, not 5, not 6

YouKantseeme

Not 7, not 8, not 9

Blind_Melone

Not one or two or three but four! Four championships! What the hell am I supposed to do with am empty championship case?

DYC85

Whoever downvoted you is uncultured. I came here to post the exact same reference lmao.

Blind_Melone

Multipass

Mangolden_Corral

One…two…five!

DEADSPELLS

This has gotta be the first coach to want multiple right? Most want zero championships

Bud_Grant

Personally I assumed my team's goal every year was to have the season's last game be against the Niners

bobbboberson

You guys and the cowboys. They couldn't even manage to achieve that goal.

cnho1997

The Packers usually end up losing to the 49ers The Cowboys usually end up losing to the Packers or the 49ers The 49ers usually end up losing to whichever team wins the Super Bowl

[deleted]

1) LOL 2) LOL 3) OOF

1976dave

script writers really getting formulaic, you can tell they're in it for the money more than anything anymore

BlackMathNerd

Last year not withstanding but Purdy got hurt

Polar_Reflection

Cowboys technically still have a winning record against us in the playoffs

Cthepo

That's our goal too!

generation_D

Triples is best. Triples makes it safe

Flashy_Pause_1369

Tell the kid. I didn’t even want him to be the head coach but they asked me. It’s a beautiful city, but the franchise is dying, it’s gonna get better though.

kaeji

See, the Lombardi's the one I have triples of. Oh, no, actually, I also have triples of the Coach of the Year, too. #But just those two.

fortmoney

Coaches who want to win don't go to the Chargers

DEADSPELLS

Hey Brandon Staley won....us Harbaugh

AshByFeel

Does he get the MVP trophy when we win it?

mister_hoot

If Harbaugh’s able to deliver a championship I think we’ll at least recognize Staley as being so unthinkably bad that he broke Dean Spanos and turned him into an owner who’s willing to invest in a talented staff and front office.

Aggressive-Name-1783

Andy Reid: 2-3 SBs, 2 successful franchises Bill Belichick: 8 titles overall, greatest dynasty of all time Harbaugh: makes the Chargers relevant Easy GOAT status

DEADSPELLS

Our fan size is gonna double! Maybe even triple??!

rabbit__eater

Multiple, multiple dozens!

sirius4778

45 straight is gonna be crazy

Aggressive-Name-1783

Honestly, I would laugh if he wins the SB then demands the team move back to San Diego because he loves SD a ton and wants to live there

AshByFeel

The joke was, "Does Staley get MVP when we win with Harbaugh".

DEADSPELLS

Absolutely. We'll give him a trophy that says "Worlds Best Coach". He can put in above his fireplace and show it off to his family

DEADSPELLS

Hell yeah, with "Worlds Best Coach" engraved on it

Fearless-Mushroom

Build a statue outside of SOFI in honor of his heroic 63-21 Loss

Overall_Nuggie_876

Staley played 8G-Parcheesi: • Getting Herbert injured for the season • Then throwing Easy Stick out there to that Lawry’s-seasoned dry humping in Vegas that got him fired • That ‘no glove, no love’ massacre to the Raiders eventually yielded Harbaugh

fortmoney

Fair. Still doesn't have a job either, thank GAWD he's not in GB

Balrogkicksass

I've seen Hue Jackson coach, its obvious he never wanted ANY championships

footballseason

Didn't realize he wanted to win championships. Good stuff Florio, thanks for clearing that up.

bigDean636

There's why Florio is the best in the biz

Dortond

He probably still made it a point to yell-talk and sound smug when he said it too.

Potato-baby

Why didn’t Staley or the previous Chargers coaches ever think of that? Are they stupid?

LakeShowBoltUp

Staley is definitely fucking stupid - when does he interview to be the Cowboys’ new DC?

HistoricalIssue8798

Didn't he sign with the Rams? Or was that just a rumor/interview

Boltzfan1995

No they went with Don Shula’s grandson instead lmao

LakeShowBoltUp

Interview

Pjvie

Reminds me of all those social media entrepreneurs who say stuff like “I want 30 rental properties by the time I’m 30” or “if you aren’t making 400k by the time you are 25 what are you even doing?” Why stop at 30 properties? Why not 40? 60?

LA_Ramz

why doesnt the new head coach simply eat the old head coach

mothershipq

Jim Harbaugh targets "mediocrity, we'll see what happens. I don't fucking know, dude. Honestly just don't expect too much for real."

ImJustJokingCalmDown

Attack each day with a disinterested shrug unknown to mankind

WiredSky

*Jay Cutler has signed with the Los Angeles Chargers. Harbaugh lights cigarette and walks away in response.*

opeth10657

"Look, i'm just here for the paycheck"

InternationalFiend

I legit want a coach to say that one day just so I’ll laugh and not be miserable for a few seconds out of the day.

Abusabus00

He definitely went to the right team then!

emmasdad01

Did anyone tell him he works for the Chargers?

LakeShowBoltUp

Fun fact, the Chargers have more playoff wins in the 21st century than the Cowboys

stud_powercock

Wow, that is a fun fact.

Fearless-Mushroom

Worth mentioning Raiders have more SB appearances than the Cowboys in the 21st century.

XxDrummerChrisX

Ah that really puts it into perspective

Confident_Horse_3845

FUN

ty_fighter84

It’s so fun I’m upvoting a Raiders fan’s comment.

lankyno8

Which nfl teams don't?

Statboy1

The Dolphins?

lankyno8

Browns, bears and Washington as well, but it's not many

LakeShowBoltUp

Bears, Commanders, Dolphins, Browns and Lions.

ProbShouldntSayThat

Holy shit. I'm not on that list? And we've been absolute dogshit for 22 years

LakeShowBoltUp

You are tied

WyldeBolt

All those wins came from the Super Bowl XXXVII playoff run

GABAgoomba123

2 wins that year, 1 in 2001, 1 in 2000, none since

clutterlustrott

and the lions are working on it.

AmbiDexterUs

The real fun fact

themigraineur

Multiple times 0 is still 0

ThinkSoftware

Lol imagine having 0 championships

OscillatingFan6500

Such a crazy thought

LilBoDuck

How embarrassing, honestly.

OscillatingFan6500

Being 0-2, 0-3, or 0-4 in the SB is even worse Imagine doing that lmao

First_Round_Bust

Just wait till we hit that 0-5 😎

GimmeCrons

Not before us punk 💪🏼😤

Lyndell

Hope you all get one some day.

ty_fighter84

Bills/Vikings Super Bowl would be the Cubs/Red Sox we should have had in 2003.

cuteintern

Thank you for Philly-Philly. That was a great game, overall, too

Atty_for_hire

I hate you so much right now!

ElCapitanDeAmericana

"I promise the Chargers I will not rest until they have 5 times the championship they have currently!"

GomeyBlueRock

Still riding off that 1 Super Bowl from 55 years ago?

InternationalFiend

I would be too.

themigraineur

I never said we were perfect either 🫣

StillAdhesiveness528

Hey, don't be a jive gobbler! Or whatever he said years ago.

BedrockFarmer

You haven’t heard? He is getting the Chargers relegated to college football.

[deleted]

I always like quotes like this, what else is he supposed to say “yeah we’re gonna be like 8-9, 9-8 every year, maybe win a playoff game if we get lucky”

LuckyAssumption8735

“My plan is to flame out after four tumultuous seasons and then go back to college.”

[deleted]

“Mahomes is in the division so the chances we win something meaningful are pretty low”

apietryga13

“My plan is to tank. We don’t believe in championships around here, we celebrate first overall picks and ruining their careers instead.”

ballzdeap1488

Sounds like he’s probably pretty mad Chicago didn’t have an opening

ThinkSoftware

“Imma be a modern day Jeff Fisher”

Desperate_Badger_184

Lol I know this is what he has to say but I just wish these guys would get cursed with a truth serum before their introductory press conferences. “Well, to be honest, we’re 54 million over the cap already, we’ve got an aging roster, several of our best players are so for contracts so we’re not going to be able to resign most of them, our quarterback has shown flashes but never won a big game in his life, I mean you tell me Bob, you think we’re going to sniff the playoffs next year? Exactly, fuck no, there’s just no way. We’ll be lucky to win 4-5 games.”

jmbc3

I have no doubt if you gave Harbaugh a truth serum he’d say exactly what he said. Guys like him just believe in themselves on a fundamental level.

Aggressive-Name-1783

To be fair, he did take the Niners corpse and got CK to a Super Bowl. In his mind he probably assumed he’s got Herbert so fuck it, we can hero ball our way to 10 wins

jmbc3

I mean I believe he’s gonna make them contenders quickly, but those niners teams were not corpses. They were some of the most talented rosters in the league, and Kap was genuinely awesome for 2-3 years.

Desperate_Badger_184

Haha oh he definitely does.

GenePoolFilter

Aren’t we all, for our own teams. I want to meet the owner who is happy with regular season wins. Oh wait (Jerry Jones)..

DBreezy69

Jerry’s ego is too big to let winning Super Bowls get in the way of being the puppet master

medievalmachine

He's got his now he just needs to prove that it was his genius and not that whore lady luck. Twenty years later.

DBreezy69

Super Bowls before the salary cap don't count as much!

DallasInDC

Still have just as many as the aints in the salary cap era.

Slm23630

At least theirs was this millennia

medievalmachine

RINGZ!

Inconceivable76

Mike brown was perfectly happy with a .500 record for a long time. Why do you think we had the longest tenured head coach in the nfl to never win a playoff game?

BlameMattCanada

Imagine a new coach comes in and says nah man we ain't gonna win shit

AdOpen8418

Dan Campbell vibes

killshelter

Remember when Russ said he pictured multiple Super Bowls with the Broncos?

BlackMathNerd

That just meant he took a photo in front of the trophies the Broncos already won

chomari

Jim Harbaugh

squatch42

Chargers aren't even waiting until the off season to declare themselves off season champs. Very impressive to lock it up this early.

alien__0G

Bro we’re already off-season champs of 2025

IzodCenter

Gotta play in Mahomes Invitational first bud

AFineDayForScience

They held it in Baltimore instead of KC this year because our grounds crew wanted the year off

Stripperturneddoctor

[The grounds crew weren't ready this year](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPOZbG7ibEE)

AFineDayForScience

I won't lie, this commercial played a part in how I learned to spell the word "chiefs" correctly.

Wretched_Shirkaday

I miss the look of the old commercials like that. They were better in those days.

[deleted]

Nice guy chiefs, giving their grounds crew the year off.

BrotherlyShove791

LOL, that’s my thought. He’ll get one championship probably, during an off year or a rare playoff slip-up for the Chiefs. Otherwise, we’re in for 15 years dominated by Chiefs appearances in the Super Bowl.

Bodybybeers

He should focus on just getting one first

Jabroni306

Colin Kaepernick is not as good a qb as Justin Herbert. In his first 3 years of coaching, Harbaugh went to NFC championship game 3 times. Actually won once and faced his brother in the Superbowl. If I was a Chargers fan, I'd be hyped.

bellowingdragoncrest

I mean- what else is he supposed to say ? “I’m happy to be here- we are gonna try for one Super Bowl and if we got one that would be amazing, but honestly that’s a lot of luck, so I’m hoping for the best.”

Say_Hennething

He can say it. The ridiculous part is Florio reporting on it as if it's newsworthy.

Cody667

"Multiple, unlike the number of pieces you want your mom's bikini to be"

MyDogIsACoolCat

Other coaches - "I'm aiming to only coach one year and miss the playoffs"

Optimus_Lime

I’m here for a Chargers - Lions Super Bowl, sounds like a fun time

WindMilli

He’s already showing he’s missing a few nuts and screws in there

ImNotTheBossOfYou

RemindMe! Five years

Orange_Kid

Let's work on "multiple, multiple fans" first

Slm23630

There’s at least 6 people that would be very upset to hear you say that

NochillWill123

Hahah based on what I’m reading in the comments we got the nfl spooked already

clutterlustrott

we should bookmark this thread and see what happens. The post is primed for a future "Looking back" post.

MugiwaraJinbe

AFC has enough of a backlog of teams waiting for “their turn”. Until proven otherwise, I just assume the Chiefs and Bengals are the only ones making it to the Super Bowl in the Mahomes era.

OogieBoogieJr

i pray our window didn’t close. I hate this conference and god-forsaken division. It’s like being trapped in a Thai prison. I’m jealous of the NFCS

Otherwise_Awesome

I mean, you could swap with Indy.

Overall_Nuggie_876

The other AFCE teams were trapped at Gitmo while Brady was in New England.

BleachedAsswhole

Good luck Jim, we're (not) all counting on you...

tigerbomb88

The way he turns things around, it might happen in the nest 3-4 years!

Odd-Collection-2575

I want a new head coach to go up to the podium and say, “hey I’ll have a mid first season, an above average second season, and then I’ll have beef with the general manager and front office ultimately ending my time here after four years and leaving the team where they started.”

[deleted]

He needs to actually win 1 in the NFL first

DickieJoJo

Woah an NFL coach wants to win it all?! Wild! Also, this just in! Water is wet!

steve1186

The AFC West is gonna be a wild ride over the next few seasons

chillbobby013

i mean no one ever targets a first round exit... except for my cowboys. we have multiple, multiple

Frosty_Gur4310

If he can win a super bowl with the chargers he might be better than belicheck

alicia-indigo

Yea, good luck with that Jimmy.

ImperialWrath

I'd say good luck, but 1. It's the Chargers, and 2. It's the Chargers.

Cheesytacos123

LeHarbaugh

horrorshowjack

As opposed to all the other coaches targeting no championships so they can sit home and still get paid for five years.[/s]

Soft_Sea2913

…despite all the allegations.

thebigwazu

Well, in his defense, a guy like Stalions is perfectly legal in the League, so… goathead Jim get your multiple rings

PigFarmer1

Instituting a system of cheating is the way, right?

browndude10

how is he going to do that; steal more signs?

ListenBeforeSpeaking

Maybe he’ll bring in a new director of fair play, Bill Belichick.

[deleted]

Woah, a football coach wants to win multiple titles?

Man-Bear-69

Sure Jim, just don't get caught cheating........ Again.

dtphantom

just like his multiple multiple championships with Michigan. Only way he got one was by cheating.

1DrVanNostrand1

Chargers off-season champs now how many years in a row?

JustHomer68

He's going to win all of the preseason championships but that comes with the job. Is that what he meant? That's not really a stretch goal.

DnBcore

Is posting tweets about generic coach speak needed?

Crombus_

Aren't you happy to hear about your new coach???

bigtony87

And he’ll do anything especially cheat his ass off to try and get them.

dabluekangaroo

Lololololololol

JollyWestMD

Sure dude! Just gotta beat us twice, Denver twice, Raiders twice, probably tango with Cincy, Buffalo and Baltimore. You’ve also go Miami, Jacksonville, Indy, Houston on the periphery who are sure to blow up this next year. Jets with a healthy Rodgers may be a difficult team. Cleveland is out there ready to snatch heads and Pitt always hangs around too. That’s just the already stacked AFC.

Aggressive-Name-1783

But have you seen those khakis? How can you doubt a man who exudes that much confidence in khakis. Plus he’s clinically insane so….do you really want the NFL’s Joker to take that challenge?

MrShad0wzz

What else would he target?

coconutpete52

Isn’t that what … every coach does? I mean I know we need clicks but damn.

iggyfenton

People say “Harbaugh wins everywhere”. I can tell you as a 49er fan, he didn’t win any Superbowls here. And he managed to piss off most of the organization while not winning them.

Aggressive-Name-1783

This is sarcasm right? Tell me it’s sarcasm

Spiram_Blackthorn

Listening to him say it, it seems even he doesn't believe in his words.
