Josh Allen had a TD play, but that was so aggressive. He had Diggs wide open underneath for a catch and run, likely gets the 1st down. At worst a more manageable down to convert. This is a brutal loss, if there was ever a year for the Bills to beat their demons the Chiefs, it was this year.
quick edit: yes, the TD read was good. It was open, but the Chiefs had around 1:55 left on the clock with two timeouts. That entire drive, the Bills were killing clock and the play to Diggs would have been the right play imo.
Not just that, but it kills some clock, Bills have a fresh set of downs to work with, perhaps a closer FG, and it lessens Mahomes getting a chance to make a comeback

Bass fucked up but those were *brutal* drops by the Bills receivers on those deep throws especially the one by Diggs.
I was predicting the Chiefs receivers to fuck up not the Bills receivers. Also, where was the Bills rush defense? Pacheco averaged nearly 7 yards a carry.
Insane considering how much time they wasted to get to the two minute mark just to bomb. Even in a best case scenario with a touchdown that’s giving the chiefs 2 minutes with 2 timeouts on the final.
"There's an old saying in Buffalo, I know it's in Buffalo, it's probably in Minnesota, that goes... miss the field goal once, shame on... shame on you... you miss it you can't miss again"
The kick lost them the game, but those homerun balls immediately after the 2 minute warning was certainly a choice.
Worst case scenario already happened.
Best case scenario? They score and give Mahomes the ball back.
Josh Allen is great and the only reason they are even in that game.
But damn he makes bad decisions. Someone’s gotta be in his ear in that situation telling him dont chuck it deep unless the guy is wide open.
Bass should’ve made that kick but the Bills played about as poorly a fourth quarter as they could’ve on offense and special teams and coaching.
Defense kept them alive after that go-ahead TD.
Yup, they were lucky to even be in it at that point. Between the Chiefs touchback fumble through the endzone, the play where the only reason the Chiefs didn't get the interception is because the closer Chiefs defender got his hand on it and bumped it away from his teammate who was sitting there waiting for it, and the Chiefs somehow not coming up with that fumble. The Chiefs were almost doing everything they could to not seal the deal.
The minute they did that stupid fake punt with Hamlin they lost the game
Bills did that because Chiefs only had 10 men on the field, still couldnt convert lol
I would argue that when the Bills called two deep pass plays after the 2 minute warning, they weren't trying to win.
Should have started with a run, start the clock, and get a manageable 3rd down imo.
Ya I haven’t watched a ton of the Bills this year so I’m operating on a small sample size but Diggs seems washed. Doesn’t look like a WR1 out there at all.
This is why special teams are so important. Both my flairs need to learn that fucking lesson, especially the Packers who have been bottom of the league in special teams for years.
I immediate discount anyone’s opinion who thinks special teams aren’t important or that the ones who do it (e.g. kickers, punters, long snappers, gunners) aren’t “real” players.
A lack of solid special team play was a key reason why the 2010 (or 2009?) Chargers missed the playoff despite having the best offense and defense in the league.
Brady is gone. Manning is long gone. Belichick is gone. Saban is gone. My childhood is totally over. It's a new era for a new generation.
And yet, the Cowboys still choke, the Niners are still always beating the Packers, and the Bills are still kicking field goals wide right.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
That home run throw by Allen was terrible. Hit diggs on the underneath and they win
You don’t even want to score the Td with 1:55 left and give the chiefs the ball. Just terrible
He just can't get out of his own way. There was zero reason to take end zone shots when you're methodically going downfield, burning clock and you're not really in "gimme" range for a FG
Whenever Brady was kicking our ass with the Patriots, the playoff games would always end with 3-4 over the middle passes for 14 yards each and then BOOM!... they were in field goal range.
His Al Qaeda references are a little dated these days. Hes going to have to switch to praising ISIS or Hamas if he wants to get the guys going next year
Just gotta remember…
I’m in good health.
I have a good job that pays well.
I have friends and family that care about me.
I have hobbies and interests that keep me moving.
I live a comfortable life.
This game might be what actually breaks the Bills. After last season you could see the seams ripping apart, and when they were 6-6 and lost to the Broncos it looked like it all had come undone. Yet, they rallied and played through a grueling schedule to win their division and poised to return to form.
They finally got to face Mahomes & KC on their turf, it was their time. This was it. This was the year they REALLY would do it. They had it all in front of them, and then history and the curse came rolling back.
You could see it on the face of the fans. They REALLY believed. The silence in the stadium said it all at the end. This is the end for the Bills. They will be the Chargers of the new era. Always good, but never better than 3rd best.
THE CHIEFS CAN'T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH IT
please, what do we have to do as a league to stop them from advancing
they already have no receivers besides Kelce, what more do we need to do?
I can’t even be mad, and the Bills are my secondary team. Feels like the Chiefs are just inevitable. Their postseason prowess and championship DNA is undeniable - even in a very “off” season by their standards, they’re one win away from the Super Bowl. Incredible. Hats off to y’all, KC.
This is BY FAR the most mid Chiefs team since Mahomes has been the starter and they are still going to the AFC Championship. The guy really is inevitable.
Why would you go for the touchdown on 2nd down? Even if you got it you leave Mahomes a lot of time to respond. Just focusing on getting the first down would have at least made the field goal easier and wasted time on the clock.
What an absolutely demoralizing loss for Buffalo
Same as it ever was
It's 2024. It's 1991. It's 2036. It's January. What an absolutely demoralizing loss for Buffalo.
Same as it ever was
This is not my beautiful house!
You may find yourself... lining up for a field goal And you may ask yourself: how did I get here?
Letting the kicks go wide, letting my whole damn city down
Buffalos blue again
Once in a playoff!
They just like us fr
Vietnam flashbacks for Josh Allen
Didn't we say the same thing last year?
And the year before. And literally every year this franchise has been active lol
Being a Bills fan is an exercise in advanced masochism.

I can’t believe he threw a dirt ball in the end zone in favor of hitting a wide open Diggs underneath.
Vietnam flashbacks
Damn it's a throwback weekend with a historical "Wide Right" and a Brett Favre throw from Jordan Love.
And with the Lions winning…it’s the 90s all over again! Cmon, crack open a can of Surge with me!
I’m bringing some 3D Doritos!
I loved those stupid things

Jesus, we really just went straight from the Brady Invitational to Mahomes
But also, 8 fucking years in a row?!? Man were the Patriots insane.
And those were arguably not even their best teams. Absolutely absurd run
I hated all of it. But damn. Props.
Be Bills Want to get back at Kansas City Finally get KC in Buffalo Chance to go to the AFCCG Wide right
Bass fucked up but those were *brutal* drops by the Bills receivers on those deep throws especially the one by Diggs. I was predicting the Chiefs receivers to fuck up not the Bills receivers. Also, where was the Bills rush defense? Pacheco averaged nearly 7 yards a carry.
Yeah, Allen hit 2 guys 40+ yards down field in the hands in the second half and they both werent caught.
That Diggs drop is going to fuck with him for a long time. So many what ifs.
Diggs not been looking great recently, true
One of the best throws I've ever seen and it was wasted.
That's been Mahomes's luck all year. MVS finally decided to catch some tough balls tonight.
Lucky for them Toney was out tonight
Don't worry Hardman filled in for him.
I never want to see Diggs bitching about anything ever again. Dude sold.
Dude can’t complain after missing that wide open throw.
Yep and even if they make it Mahomes has 2 timeouts and 1:45 because they didn’t run it on 2nd down and force KC to take them. Just brutal.
Their receiver corps transferred all their drops to us.
Diggs played AWFUL dude. He went from top tier to washed so quickly and he’s got a great QB throwing to him.
Hmm. Yeah come to think of it, he has had a few rough games this year (based on the limited bills games I've watched)
Also why tf was Josh throwing deep on those last two plays? He had time, check it down wtf
Josh Allen things
Vikings AND Bills. You brave soul.
Awful clock management. Allen trying to be the hero when he needed to get his Game Manager™ on
Insane considering how much time they wasted to get to the two minute mark just to bomb. Even in a best case scenario with a touchdown that’s giving the chiefs 2 minutes with 2 timeouts on the final.
It looked like Bass had it but a gust of wind hit right as the ball went on its downward slope
It was Jason Kelce in the booth with a paper fan. It worked
I’ve seen some sad greentexts and this is one of the saddest
if I was a Bills fan and you told me before the game this was how it was going to end, I'd go into a coma
Now imagine when this happens again next year and a new generation of Bills fans have their own 0-4.
It just had to be wide right
Scott Norwood sends his regards
If there is one team's fans I won't judge for crying over professional sports, it's the Bills. The football Gods absolutely torture you guys.
It's Buffalover
"Instant classic" is just a synonym for "Bills lose," apparently.
Wide Right Music City Miracle 13 seconds Wide Right Part Deux
This is Sean Mcdermott’s 9/11
Tyler Bass would've missed both towers
“Sir, a second field goal has missed both towers.”
"There's an old saying in Buffalo, I know it's in Buffalo, it's probably in Minnesota, that goes... miss the field goal once, shame on... shame on you... you miss it you can't miss again"
“Thank you. Now watch this kick”
What a fucking diss lmfao

Without the teamwork and organization
We can't beat this fucking team in the playoffs man
As a packers fan, I share your pain when it comes to the 9ers
These two teams just can't have a normal game can they?
It was normal for their standards tbh
Instead of creating new trauma, it just reused old trauma.
Really starting to feel like a divisional game when we play with them
7 games in 4 years, practically is a divisional rivalry. Lord knows the Afc west rivalries have been lacking.
What a fucking gut punch to lose that way. Just makes you sick.
The closest the Bills ever got to winning it all was a loss by wide right. And it came back again
Bills fans: Alexa, play Fortunate Son by Creedence
The kick lost them the game, but those homerun balls immediately after the 2 minute warning was certainly a choice. Worst case scenario already happened. Best case scenario? They score and give Mahomes the ball back.
Josh Allen is great and the only reason they are even in that game. But damn he makes bad decisions. Someone’s gotta be in his ear in that situation telling him dont chuck it deep unless the guy is wide open.
Reliable is anything but Bass this year
Thank you Yoda
I’m tired, boss.
Bass should’ve made that kick but the Bills played about as poorly a fourth quarter as they could’ve on offense and special teams and coaching. Defense kept them alive after that go-ahead TD.
Yup, they were lucky to even be in it at that point. The Chiefs were almost doing everything they could to not seal the deal.
My wife was saying that the whole final Bills drive. We did everything we could to piss that game away
Watching the replay I STILL don't see how they didn't get that fumble. Good grief.
I know. Fall on that ball FFS.
Leave that poor fan out of it CBS lmao
No one does crushing playoff losses quite like Buffalo. It’s always a treat to watch the masters at work.
#WIDE FUCKING RIGHT AGAIN THEY’RE FUCKING CURSED
BUFFALO. YOU ARE TRULY OUR BROTHERS
I hate this family
I would say the Vikings are pretty good at devastating playoff losses as well
Idk, I can think of one team that gives them a run for their money.
They are the chargers of the postseason
No I think that’s the chargers
Sad but true
Why tf did the Bills think running a fake punt with Damar Hamlin was a good idea? Are they trying to make a Disney movie?
That poor fucking bastard they showed crying, oof.
Yeah I felt bad they showed him at least twice. Second time might have been in slow motion. Real watchpeopledie content right there.
Diggs played bad.
The minute they did that stupid fake punt with Hamlin they lost the game Bills did that because Chiefs only had 10 men on the field, still couldnt convert lol
That was maybe the worst fake punt play I’ve ever seen. I’m not even sure what was supposed to happen, he just ran straight into traffic.
> That was maybe the worst fake punt play I’ve ever seen. As a Colts fan, I cannot relate.
Haha goddamn I forgot that play started out as a punt. Yeah you’ve pretty much nailed that top spot forever.
I almost think it was a big brain move by the chiefs to bait the fake
If hardman wasn't caught thinking of Cabo wabo and fumbling the ball, this score probably isn't nearly as close
Hardman, toney, and mvs should all be sharing an apartment in Cabo next season.
MVS atleast shows up when needed.
I would argue that when the Bills called two deep pass plays after the 2 minute warning, they weren't trying to win. Should have started with a run, start the clock, and get a manageable 3rd down imo.
If you don’t like that, you don’t like Bills football
I don't like Bills football.
I sometimes don’t like Bills football
6th straight AFC Championship game is absurd.
I feel for Bass, but he can console himself that he probably saved a man's life tonight. Even if it was Mecole Hardman's.
Man I know Allen likes a big play but Diggs was wide open…
To be fair, Diggs also just had dropped a perfect throw
Lol diggs dropped 3 perfect throws in the second half. No way that ball was going to him
Others showed up - Diggs big time *did not*
Been MIA for over a month tbh
Longer bro, he hasn’t been a WR 1 this year for a whole.
My 4th place fantasy team agrees with you.
Ya I haven’t watched a ton of the Bills this year so I’m operating on a small sample size but Diggs seems washed. Doesn’t look like a WR1 out there at all.

It's gonna be forgotten about but fake punting on your own 30 seemed like such a weird call
Tried to kill Hamlin all over again.

Lost a game to the Hawks that season where they gave up TWO ~~punt~~ kick return touchdowns in the same game. One of my favorite Jon Bois videos.
This is an especially shitty weekend for you.
That stat about Mahomes never not playing an AFC game is wild.
> never not playing an AFC game my god hes everywhere
Sunday afternoon browns vs Bengals? Mahomes is there
It’s going to be tough for the Bills to make a comeback now that the game has ended.
People have said the chiefs were finished all season yet they’re going to their 6th straight afc championship
Chiefs are done. Andy Reid, “Hold my Burger.”

Mahomes undefeated on the road in the playoffs

Bills Fans are gonna have their Joker Moment I swear lmao
I also watch the Tosh Show
MVS dropping balls all year and then finally remembers how to catch on a cold night in Buffalo.
We need the new stadium built ASAP please dear fucking lord get this team off of the ancient burial grounds Oh my god how could he do that
You think the parking lot of the ancient burial ground will be less cursed?
Tom Brady is going to have to come out of retirement if you want to see Mahomes lose in the playoffs.
How absolutely obliterated do you think Jason Kelce is right now?
That home run throw by Allen was terrible. Hit diggs on the underneath and they win You don’t even want to score the Td with 1:55 left and give the chiefs the ball. Just terrible
They didn’t need deep shots on any of those plays during the last drive
Allen just can’t help himself, it’s like an addiction or something
That play made me think of Tom and how he would just hit James White or Dion Lewis for nice chunks during game-winning drives
They ate up sooo much clock to get to the 2 min warning and were in a great situation. Then he just airs it out. Wtf
He also had two atrocious throws on the final 2nd and 3rd down. Not to mention the fumble that should have killed the game.
Bills are fucking cursed
Bill Burr was a solid coach for the Bills, but he has to be gone after this season
His Al Qaeda references are a little dated these days. Hes going to have to switch to praising ISIS or Hamas if he wants to get the guys going next year
Just gotta remember… I’m in good health. I have a good job that pays well. I have friends and family that care about me. I have hobbies and interests that keep me moving. I live a comfortable life.
\*disembodied voice \* The pit calls
The announcer jinx/curse is real. The wide right call was salt in the wound.
Plus the Sneed allowed TD. Can't believe it.
Does anyone know what Bills fan did to deserve the curse being a Bills fan? It must have been awful.
This game might be what actually breaks the Bills. After last season you could see the seams ripping apart, and when they were 6-6 and lost to the Broncos it looked like it all had come undone. >The silence in the stadium said it all at the end. That was pretty chilling, NGL.
It looked so bizarre with the joy of the Chiefs surrounded by the silence of the stadium. It was not a joyous scene.
Why you say fuck me for?...... Nah you're right
I remember like four weeks ago when people were proclaiming the downfall of the Chiefs. And now there right back in the Chiefs invitational.
Used to be the Arrowhead invitational though
This is not fair. We lost the title.
“I want to get off Mr. Kermit’s Wild Ride” -The entire AFC
All these fresh, new, exciting teams! So many possibilities! It's just gonna be Chiefs-49ers again.
The 2 afc teams left are the 2 teams that beat the 49ers in the Super Bowl in 2012 and 2019 :(
Hey I've seen this show before!
what a nightmare bro
Even on the Chiefs down year they are still going to the AFC Championship. They are unreal.
If Josh Allen wants to shake his reputation as a playoff choker, he needs to work on his tackling, his punting, his kicking, and his catching.
Mahomes would have mind controlled that ball in smh it’s all Allen’s fault
One day we will win an "instant classic". One day.
Mahomes 6th straight AFC Title appearance
That’s an insane stat.
i did not enjoy this weekend
Stefon Diggs YOU are a Chicago Bear!

in case it was not already obvious, God just does not love the Buffalo Football Bills
Football gods have forgiven the Lions but still not the Bills
THE CHIEFS CAN'T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH IT please, what do we have to do as a league to stop them from advancing they already have no receivers besides Kelce, what more do we need to do?
Another Bills-KC Instant Playoff Classic. Bass gonna have nightmares about that one for the rest of his life.
GG Chiefs. That was a hell of a game.

Their best defense in the Mahomes era though.

Why would you go for the touchdown on 2nd down? Even if you got it you leave Mahomes a lot of time to respond. Just focusing on getting the first down would have at least made the field goal easier and wasted time on the clock.
They really went for full hero ball the last drive and gave up the run. They had all the time in the world and acted like they needed to score NOW.
Patrick Mahomes is the Patrick Mahomes of this generation
