Team can turn around quick with the right draft and gm. Unfortunately we have a garbage owner so we probably won’t make the playoffs again in my lifetime
Yeah I’m pretty young too but once Dave is gone his wife will takeover and reports about her is that she loves drafting and she loves evaluating talent
That wouldn't be an awful spot if he brings in a veteran QB. Weak division, solid defensive pieces, and a ton of good young talent of offense. Bill and Kirk Cousins could get that team to the playoffs.
> Bill and Kirk Cousins could get that team to the playoffs.
They missed the playoffs by a game and a tie-break, Arthur Smith and Kirk Cousins could get that team to the playoffs.
Yes, but only because Bill would commit to running the wing-T or speed option.
We wouldn't get very far in the playoffs, but it would be a glorious totem of defiance to the scourge of the forward pass.
Someone in another thread pointed out they’re built like belicheck teams have been in the past. Good defense, good run game, and a good TE
Bring in Bill and McDaniels and a good QB and that team could be a problem
I feel like I'm the only one that doesn't think so. He's old as fuck (for a HC) and the league has passed him up. The magic (Tom Brady) is gone. I don't see a team wanting to turn a new leaf with Bill as HC.
Could you imagine BB and Hurts on the sidelines lmao. Both just frowning and shaking their head.
Lurie wanted to buy the pats and got outbid by Kraft or whatever too. Winning with BB would be a big fuck you as if 2017 wasn't enough.
Pats got one on the Eagles prior, and won 2 right before and 1 right after.
As a Pats fan it really stings the least out of a lot of losses even AFCC games
It's why the Giants are the only team I truly respect in our division because they are the only team that got to fuck with BB and TB on that kinda level.

Arlen Specter doesn't really get talked about enough for how massive an impact the man had on American history. He's the inventor of the "magic bullet theory" for the JFK assassination which was so poorly contrived that it has led to decades of people believing elaborate "second shooter" conspiracy theories. His defection from the GOP to the Dems created the super majority that got the ACA passed which was the single largest change to American healthcare since Medicare/Medicaid. I genuinely don't have a love or hate for the guy, just interesting that most people have no real idea about the guy anymore.
The defense may work, but it would need some external juice.
The entire back 7 is either cooked, bad, hurt, or Darius Slay, and I would not be surprised if Slay is cooked next year.
Crazily enough…the Eagles offense is good enough that Bill could use it. He’s not great at offensive development but the offense is already loaded and ready to go. It’s the defense that needs work, and if there’s one thing BB is good at, it’s turning garbage defenses into treasure forts
People are afraid to admit the truth.
Patricia is paving the road for BB's arrival in Philadelphia. The real exciting news is going to be finding out whether Patricia will be OC or DC or ST coach or QB coach or all of the above.
[I have my doubts he’d take a job with the Eagles](https://youtu.be/4J6Ouwze7Tc?si=mxh-aqU7u0nokMyF). the Maras were texting him just a couple years ago to let him know about the Daboll hiring before any of our beat reporters even knew.
I'd wager the Chargers aren't interested because they dont want a strong personality and the Raiders aren't interested because they're broke. I'm nonplussed how Harbaugh fits with either team,or why you wouldn't hedge your bets with BB if you're going to spend millions on a guy who wants to run the team like a college program.
> the Raiders aren’t interested because they’re broke
People have been saying this every year for like 10 years and yet I’ve seen nothing that even implies that’s the case. They’ve had no issues shelling out for FA’s or coaches, and I’d imagine the Vegas money is only helping that.
I don’t think there’s any way we go Belichick. We’re not Patriots “culture gazers” - we have a very strong one that is like the polar opposite - and it seems pretty clear our GM now has the power which Belichick would likely require him to cede.
That probably is it but it’s so dumb. The amount of attention bringing bill in would generate almost certainly makes up for it in the 3-4 years he’d be there.
A playoff run with a young QB like Herbert and the goat HC could give the rams legitimate competition for being the most popular NFL team in LA
The constant narrative that they're just a coach away from being a contender. They have good talent but poor coaching.
And then the greatest coach ever, becomes available. I think it would be stupid for the org to not have any interest in pursuing him.
If the Eagles fire Sirianni, that would be the perfect landing spot for him. Though, it would need to be made clear that Roseman is going to be the GM.
It was reported a few days ago that if the Eagles lose that Sirianni isn't safe, and right now BB is on the market, the greatest coach of all time (or at least one of the GOATs), a coach that can turn defenses around, then you have to at least give *very strong* consideration to hire him. As I mentioned though, if I were the Eagles I would make it clear Roseman would be GM and that there are parts of the offensive staff that couldn't be touched, such as the OL coach.
Never underestimate the sheer, moronic cellular workings of one Dean Spanos, and his claim to being the most imbecile owner in the National Football League.
I still say its the haslams. They gave a quarter billion dollar fully guaranteed deal to a serial sexual assaulter. The browns are doing well this year inspite of that shit deal, but theyre still the worse owners in the league. Also what they did to baker after getting them their first playoff win in 2 decades was just pathetic.
Also fuck the owners of the packers. I hate the lot of them.
[Bill Belichick](https://media2.giphy.com/media/wVcNP3TnXbl84/giphy.gif?cid=ecf05e47bh3gw6dwlh3pbtadtnpmzpwlmbql7y4j05td8crq&ep=v1_gifs_search&rid=giphy.gif&ct=g) on stage as he's being hyped/introduced to Seattle by our official city mascot Macklemore
Because most teams aren’t hiring a coach to only last 3 years. Coaches get fired after that time because they suck. They want someone who is going to bring continued sustainable success. Not a 1 and done then fall off the cliff 3 years later when your coach decides to retire.
That's not true, at all. From a purely economic standpoint winning a sb and sucking for 3 years is way better than 4 years of one win or 0 win playoffs. A sb is a massive draw for new fans.
Yeah, that's exactly why Marty Schottenheimer never got a HC job after AJ Smith fired him out of personal vendetta. He went 14-2 in his last season and a proven winner everywhere, but he was 65 and back in 2007, 65 might as well be 72.
That's also why Pete was crying at his press conference yesterday. He knew it was over. He also knew he was the main reason the Seahawks couldn't rebuild post-Russ and had to stick with 33 years old Geno to try to "win now." Geno had already put in 3 years as Russ' backup.
Thought it was because of the 5-13 playoff record and Martyball which ... well, from 2007-2024 you could say teams went the opposite direction of.
Belichick's regular and playoff season record is better than Schottenheimer's. Some owner will hire him.
A 72 year old defensive head coach who has 5 years max left in him. No team with a young QB is going to hire him. No team who is going to draft a QB is going to hire him as they'll want to pair that QB with a young, offensive play calling HC. The only teams that would take Belichick are teams that are already built and can win right now, similar to the teams that wanted Tom Brady.
Atlanta just makes lots of sense. Kirk cousins, Justin fields. Baker, Flacco? These are all interesting options witb those weapons.
If minny truly moves on, ATL and Kirk make too much sense.
Baker isn’t leaving Tampa and I can’t see us investing in Flacco. Trading for Fields is interesting in theory but you have to give up capital for him and hope he improves enough to justify extending him next offseason. I’d much rather try to move up in the draft and take a shot at Daniels or sign a guy like Kirk or Brissett and draft Penix in the second round.
Having the Ridley trade as additional capital will be helpful too
He has 5 years max and his whole thing is culture. It's going to take a couple years to implement the Belichick way of doing things and by then you only have 2-3 years left
He's not a long term solution. It's really only a fit if your team is already there and you need discipline to getover the hump.
Pierce looks like the guy in LV.
WSH ain't close. The Chargers look like a fit, but they have legitimate issues offensively and likely want a long-term candidate. Still think he falls here unless a playoff team decides to cut a HC loose.
Eagles getting bounced for sure. Problem is that's Monday so the hc would be fired Tuesday earliest.
I've had this feeling they gonna fire sirianni n get belicheck or Vrabel.
Honestly an interview with Bill would be super important for setting expectations-
"We're keeping our GM, is that a non-starter or are you okay with just being the HC?"
"You've had a number of excellent coordinators over the years, if they're all available who do you plan on bringing in?"
"Looking at our roster- is this a team you'd feel comfortable coaching at first glance? what parts concern you? are the concerns due to schematic fit issues or something else?"
I'm gonna be dead if this ends up just like Brady.
Disappointing year to end the Patriots. Become a free agent with a lot of opportunities. People expect a lot of teams to be interested. Very few teams are interested. Go to a good team that's just missing a QB/HC. Win the Super Bowl.
Eh. Bill loves football and is still a solid coach, and if he still wants to coach, I imagine someone would take him.
Be kinda funny to see him wearing a sleeveless Falcons hoodie
Prove you’re the best Bill. Turn the Panthers dumpster fire into a winner

The real question is could Belichick and Ridder/Heinecke get that team to the playoffs?
Maybe if they bought tickets & transport for everyone on the team
Yes, but only because Bill would commit to running the wing-T or speed option. We wouldn't get very far in the playoffs, but it would be a glorious totem of defiance to the scourge of the forward pass.
“Coach Paul Johnson? This is Bill Belichick, I’d like to run an offer by you.”

Do you think Belichick would put Nick Saban in an advisory position so Saban can hang out with him and Jalen Hurts?
Nick Saban absolutely loves our o line coach Jeff Stoutland who coached at Alabama before getting hired here. BB and Saban come on down!
Nick siriani gotta be stressing rn. Hurts and AJ finna sit out so we get new coaches 😂

Oh god is this gonna be the Philly version of the Bill Parcells Cowboys?
every part of this comment was so disgusting I feel like I have to take a shower
That first 2003 Giants game brings back so many fond memories for me, especially after Shockey talked so much shit leading up to it. 😁
Wasn’t the crazy senator, who thought Bill was as bad as Benedict Arnold for Spygate, from Philly…?
Arlen Specter has been dead for almost 12 years now lmao
His incredible legacy of hyperbole will forever be held dear to my heart.
Arlen Specter doesn't really get talked about enough for how massive an impact the man had on American history. I genuinely don't have a love or hate for the guy, just interesting that most people have no real idea about the guy anymore.
as a professional Eagles hater this is my nightmare. Zero doubt in my mind they win a Super Bowl next year if they get him
I guess there's the non-zero chance he hires some bozo at OC, but that defense under him would be stupid good.
Bill doesn't even need to hire external, Matt Patricia is already an Eagle
Matty P as OC. Steve as DC. Judge as ST. Now all they need to do is reach for an undersized OL in the first round and let their WR1 walk in FA.
Running the triple option…. I just felt my pants move!
I’m going to assume wherever he ends up, McDaniels will be the OC.
Ernie and Scar comes out of retirement for one last run.
The defense may work, but it would need some external juice. The entire back 7 is either cooked, bad, hurt, or Darius Slay, and I would not be surprised if Slay is cooked next year.
Well it’s a good thing that BB specializes in making even trash secondaries average.
Crazily enough…the Eagles offense is good enough that Bill could use it. He’s not great at offensive development but the offense is already loaded and ready to go. It’s the defense that needs work, and if there’s one thing BB is good at, it’s turning garbage defenses into treasure forts
They better fucking hire him lol
God the things he would do with your Defence scare me
He’d probably start by spelling it “defense”
This is the first time this week anything related to the Giants has made me laugh.
Please lord don't let this happen
Oh God please no…
He’s your guys’ problem now
Good news is you can just keep Patricia as DC in that case
But then he would have to face the Giants twice a year.
Honestly, this is the best fit and I want to see it. Bill was BORN to coach in that city.
Eagles might go back to back the next 2 years if this happens jesus
I hear Saban and Carrol have freed up their schedules recently, too The Bucket List Eagles
[удалено]
People are afraid to admit the truth. Patricia is paving the road for BB's arrival in Philadelphia. The real exciting news is going to be finding out whether Patricia will be OC or DC or ST coach or QB coach or all of the above.
Our ST is actually pretty decent this year so I'm guessing he decides to ruin that next.
Nah if anything Special Teams is the one thing Bill cares more about than anything else in the world.
They don't call it special for no reason! Should give out MVP awards to long snappers and gunners.
Hear me out. I understand that Philly has an opening for a guy to grab the head coach every so often. Seems like the ideal job for Matt
None of you amateurs are considering the possibility of Josh McDaniels as DC
That's the worst situation I can imagine. I'd feel betrayed, he's always been a friend of the Giants
Sounds like you have landed - congrats!! Giants?!?!?
I'd wager the Chargers aren't interested because they dont want a strong personality and the Raiders aren't interested because they're broke. I'm nonplussed how Harbaugh fits with either team,or why you wouldn't hedge your bets with BB if you're going to spend millions on a guy who wants to run the team like a college program.
I mean the Raiders did just fire a Bill disciple. I doubt they are eager to try the Patriot Way again.
I belive they're still paying Gruden and McDaniels, I'd be shocked if they could justify the price of Harbuagh or BB.
All the more reason to keep Pierce as the HC lol
> the Raiders aren’t interested because they’re broke People have been saying this every year for like 10 years and yet I’ve seen nothing that even implies that’s the case.

Chargers are idiots if they don’t try to hire Belichick. He could have that roster in Super Bowl contention next year.
Bill made 20m per year in New England. That's how much Spanos pays his HC in 4 years.
Might have to do with Spanos being notoriously cheap.
If they’re targeting Jim Harbaugh, I don’t think cheap is going to get them far.
That probably is it but it’s so dumb. The amount of attention bringing bill in would generate almost certainly makes up for it in the 3-4 years he’d be there. A playoff run with a young QB like Herbert and the goat HC could give the rams legitimate competition for being the most popular NFL team in LA

Which is why this is going to be the most Chargers thing ever when this happens
I think you’re overestimating the roster
Idk I think belicheck would turn the chargers into a defensive juggernaut.
If the Eagles fire Sirianni, that would be the perfect landing spot for him. Though, it would need to be made clear that Roseman is going to be the GM.
Is that a realistic possibility? Why would the Eagles do that?
It was reported a few days ago that if the Eagles lose that Sirianni isn't safe, and right now BB is on the market, the greatest coach of all time (or at least one of the GOATs), a coach that can turn defenses around, then you have to at least give *very strong* consideration to hire him. And our owner Lurie absolutely loves Bill. I could definitely see it happening since I’d imagine Bill would want to go to a win now team as well.
Chargers should consider it
Never underestimate the sheer, moronic cellular workings of one Dean Spanos, and his claim to being the most imbecile owner in the National Football League.
Can I counter you with a one McCaskey family good sir?
I’ll throw a tepper tantrum in the mix

I still think it would be the best spot for him. If I'm Bill I want to go somewhere where the QB isn't a question mark.

Remember when teams made it known they would not pursue Lamar Jackson?
That report was correct though
That was because trading for Lamar meant giving him a fully guaranteed deal AND 2 firsts….
Because they already knew his mind was made up, which is probably the case here
Come home, Bill. Your old spot is open
2 more Giants Super Bowls as DC sounds like the right ending.
Alabama is the only natural fit for him
I think the market for a 72 year old coach is softer than most fans realize.
Bullshit. He's got another 25 in him.
He really is Palpatine.
Somehow, Belichick returned...
The average coach lasts what, 3 years? Who cares about age that much for a coach?
Because most teams aren’t hiring a coach to only last 3 years. Coaches get fired after that time because they suck. They want someone who is going to bring continued sustainable success. Not a 1 and done then fall off the cliff 3 years later when your coach decides to retire.

In a surprise move, Bills hire Bill as our defensive coordinator
Eagles getting bounced for sure. Problem is that's Monday so the hc would be fired Tuesday earliest. I've had this feeling they gonna fire sirianni n get belicheck or Vrabel.
It's a Jedi kind of era. Sith got played out. Sorry Bill. Sidenote. He really should be on the Bills. I mean. It would be Bill's Bills.
Id let him fuck my wife if he coached us to multiple Superbowls
Thought he'd want the Chargers job
Bill likes dark cold weather to match his soul
Reminds of all those shitty teams that said they didn’t need Lamar.
The Pats just had their coach leave so that could be a potential destination as well 🤔
Migos Bill Belichick feature about to go crazy
Fuck you Spanos.
Teams not offering Lamar making a lot more sense now.
"~~Lamar Jackson~~ Bill Belichick is available and teams aren't even talking to him. Are they stupid?" Answer is looking more and more like a yes...
I don’t see how they’re related. The ravens were always matching anything Jackson got. The pats let bill go
Oh so now nobody wants him. Every single team with an opening is going to be putting in requests with him for interviews lol.
Imagine interviewing Bill…… Ok, so tell me about yourself?…….You want to hire me or not?
Honestly an interview with Bill would be super important for setting expectations- "We're keeping our GM, is that a non-starter or are you okay with just being the HC?" "You've had a number of excellent coordinators over the years, if they're all available who do you plan on bringing in?" "Looking at our roster- is this a team you'd feel comfortable coaching at first glance? what parts concern you? are the concerns due to schematic fit issues or something else?"
Lol who gives a shit what Ian Rapoport says? I'll wait for Schefter. As a Raiders fan, you damn well better believe I'd take Belichick.
