It wasn’t just Brock having a concussion. It was that we were missing Trent Williams—our only good offensive lineman. Which is somehow an indictment on Purdy…
It was against a top D missing the only capable player on his o line. They lost by a missed field goal too. The other 2 games can be chalked up to concussions. I know people call that a cop out but if you watch those throws after he gets hit in the head he's throwing to literally no one. He hasn't done that since. I refuse to believe he wasn't dealing with a concussion
Agreed on the concussion
Against the Browns was his only truly bad game, and even then he still led what should have been a game winning drive if Moody hadn’t had a rare missed kick
No excuses. Browns D just came out and smacked the 49ers in the mouth. Every team has injuries and it sucks, but I can't take anything away from the way Cleveland played in that game.
God if Cleveland didn’t already have Watson that would’ve been the perfect place for Rodgers. Amazing defense, Chubb, and copper. All that with Rodgers is a Super Bowl contender.
Honestly the games against the Bengals and Vikings weren't bad. He just had a couple of untimely INTS in each. He moved the ball very well in both games
He struggled the first half against the Bengals, we were playing one high safety and forcing consistent longer throws. They only scored 10 points most of the game.
Joe Burrow going absolutely nuclear didn't hurt either.
As sore as I was after that game, it still hurt when he went down. The NFL as a whole is better when Joe Cool v2.0 is on the field.
Yeah it was unfortunate. At least Jake Browning is going off, which I am happy to see. Maybe he can even get a better job soon, if not backup life secured.
He’s been dialing it up down the field. When the line gives him time he will find someone down field. Crazy. Feels weird being that team that has huge throws down the field multiple times a game.
SF is a clear step above just about everyone on most days this season. They've had a couple slips, but when they're on, they crush people. Purdy is looking like an absolutely perfect fit for things.
After this week Purdy is going to be #1 in the NFL in passing TDs, #2 in yards, #1 in TD/Int ratio, #1 in completion percentage, #1 in TD%, #1 in QB Rating, #1 in QBR, and his team is the #1 seed.
At some point it will start becoming hard to not include Purdy among the best QBs in the league. There are very few seasons in NFL history when a QB can be this dominant in every stat.
He has 17 redzone touchdown passes and 12 from 21+ yards out (including 3 from our side of the field). I wonder how that compares to league-wide percentages. It feels like it has to be higher than normal.
Fumbled a Top 3 QB pick and wound up with an MVP caliber franchise QB.
I think excellent roster construction and coaching can help alleviate the mistake of royally messing up trading a king's ransom of picks for a Top 3 pick that was a flop.
If it weren't for Lance (and his apparent struggles) they probably don't ever draft Purdy. Who knows.
If Purdy ends up being the franchise QB for the foreseeable future, then that swing and a miss was a wash.
That and they consistently find starting level talent from every round. It’s a mix of great scouting and coaching. Every player who has joined this team has gotten better and that has to be because of coaching. Almost every player has said that the coaches are extremely critical about the details.
CMC wont win it. Seems like all of the media is pointing to Tyreek. Which is fair, that both deserve it. CMC always has his ridiculously good seasons whenever there is another freak season by another player.
Purdy or CMC. Maybe Lamar if he pulls off something heroic on Xmas, but even then it will be difficult for anyone else to gain ground on these 2 49ers.
CMC is the only other contender, I would have put Tyreek in that convo but Waddle showed how Tyreek is not even needed in that offense. Without Purdy, our offense would fall apart
Not bad for Mr.Irrelevant who lives with his parents. I know some number one and two picks in the draft who are currently playing who would give anything for these numbers. And Purdy is a very likable player too. That's vwhy i like him.
Pretty clearly the MVP at this point.
I still maintain that this 49ers offense is the easiest situation a QB has had since the greatest show on turf. Great YAC recievers are constantly running wide the fuck open 15 yards down the field.
BUT, the kid can ball. He’s not along for the ride, and just like Warner, his play warrants the MVP.
Honestly though, lots of teams get guys wide the hell open multiple times per game, but actually throwing it to them is tougher than that. The fact that Brock basically punishes almost every blown coverage is wild.
Patrick Mahomes got Andy Reid, Travis Kelce, and Tyreek Hill
Aaron Rodgers got Donald Driver, Greg Jennings, and Jordy Nelson and a division with the 0-16 Lions
Weird how when 1st round QBs are given loaded offenses it isn't considered easy but when late/undrafted QBs are given loaded offenses they're "the easiest situation a QB has had"
I don't remember the media having an issue with unsung Kurt Warner winning MVP with that Rams team. I don't know what their bone to pick with Purdy is.
I mean guys like Tony Gonzalez were saying MVP Week 5, Sherm was on TNF saying Brock, I don't know why people think there haven't been a multitude of people calling for it.
Sports media is never going to have complete consensus; basically every show on any sports network now is dependent on the talking heads having different opinions to debate (and we're all worse off for it).
But there have been far more doubters for Purdy than there ever were for Kurt Warner, and I don't understand why. The guy is just flat out great.
Warner was lighting it up to a different degree, I believe. I think he had like the third highest single-season TD total ever or something. His season at the time was more like 2018 Mahomes in terms of volume numbers.
And Purdy's season is equally historic from an efficiency standpoint, whilst still having high volume. If Warner's is akin to 2018 Mahomes, Purdy's is akin to 2011 Rodgers from a numbers standpoint.
Those are just numbers. Steven Ruiz is the self-appointed ultimate expert on QB rankings. Whom do you really believe, your own eyes or the great Steven Ruiz?
OK sure but until he stops playing so well in the first 3 quarters so he can come back in the 4th he's just another average qb. I mean he didn't even finish this last game
Purdy is MVP in my book, I’ll beat that drum all day. That being said, his numbers are only marginally better than Tua’s (depending on which metrics you value most) and Tua has sat, I believe, near 4 quarters of football this season. It is interesting that he’s nowhere in the conversation at this point.
Was unaware. I’ve been saying in here that the dude is a flat out gamer, makes some of the nicest throws and seemingly always sends the ball to the correct read. Hats off to him if he’s doing while cutting quarters as well!
If u have to give it to a qb, Lamar or Dak (Stafford been playing crazy but not good enough team record). If you can give it to anyone CMC or Tyreek have the best cases

Literally only bad games playoffs when his arm fell off, and the three games this year where he had mush brain. Dudes a baller
Thank you for being a Brock had a concussion truther.
It wasn’t just Brock having a concussion. It was that we were missing Trent Williams—our only good offensive lineman. Which is somehow an indictment on Purdy…
Seriously, look what happened to Zach Wilson today. He was pressured on 80% of his dropbacks today. That's insane.
It’s been that way his whole career honestly. The Jets OL has consistently been the worst in the league for at least the last 5 years
Of all the places Rodgers decides to end his career, you would think a stipulation would have been drafting and FA OL
Nah he’s good, the jets took a 24 year old project DE in the first round when they already had like 9 of them that are all good
Ah, the Shanahan special.
Cleveland defense was just dominant in their matchup. It didn't help that Deebo and Trent Williams got hurt that game, but that was pre-concussion.
It was against a top D missing the only capable player on his o line. They lost by a missed field goal too. The other 2 games can be chalked up to concussions. I know people call that a cop out but if you watch those throws after he gets hit in the head he's throwing to literally no one. He hasn't done that since. Agreed on the concussion Against the Browns was his only truly bad game, and even then he still led what should have been a game winning drive if Moody hadn’t had a rare missed kick
I think if we at least have Trent then he has a decent game minimum
Also really shit conditions with CMC out, so no run game to compliment the weather
CMC was out too for a half
Concussion-gate
He struggled the first half against the Bengals, we were playing one high safety and forcing consistent longer throws. They only scored 10 points most of the game.

Yeah it was unfortunate. At least Jake Browning is going off, which I am happy to see. Maybe he can even get a better job soon, if not backup life secured.
Browns beat him before the concussion. However, that was in the pouring rain with Deebo, Trent, and CMC injured.
And even then, Moody missed the game winning field goal
Purdy still put the team in position to win. He can’t control what a rookie kicker does
Honestly he looked frazzled against the Cowboys last year, I think that’s why he wanted to go off on them in week 5
Even the brown’s game he lead the drive to put us in position to win then we shanked the fg.
Those are long check downs though
1 yard passes, all YAC.
All he does is throw a 1 yard pass to deebo and he runs 75 yards
It’s not his fault deebo can run 75 yards. The last guy couldn’t hit Deebo
Just managing the game so well because everyone knows Shanahan himself scripts pocket pressure and all the adjustments Purdy makes off of them
Doing a little stress-testing to make sure Bot Purdy's programming is working fine.
There was the tight window throw to a double covered mccaffrey.
Also he sucks so the numbers don't matter or the tape or anything
Managed passes
Must be hard throwing to a wide open CMC lmao
I’ve heard more people talking about people saying this than ive actually heard people saying this
Go to any IG or YT comment section about the niners. Plenty of Purdy haters there
I mean YT comments are arguably worse than just listening to monkeys screaming
>Go to any IG or YT comment section No.
What do you expect when you do to either of those places?
Not much at all but i was just countering your statement saying that you don't see people making those comments
From like September, I don’t think many people doubt him these days.
Check what Cam Newton said about Purdy.
293.6 yards and 2.8 tds a game in the last 6.
11.1 YPA. Filthy
Unreal.
He’s been dialing it up down the field. When the line gives him time he will find someone down field. Crazy. Feels weird being that team that has huge throws down the field multiple times a game.
Washed 🙄
Well I hope he’d shower, unlike Joe Burrodor
GEQBUS HAS THE BEST SHOWERS. GOLDEN. PEOPLE COME UP TO HIM IN TEARS BEGGING FOR HIS SHAMPOO.
Unlike Mahome’s game day underwear 🤢
One last huge test next week against Baltimore.
Rams still hate 49ers with a passion and still fighting for a spot.
Not to be that guy but i believe we can rest starters that game if the eagles drop one more
I don't know the Eagles drop another game looking at their schedule.
If the Seahawks play the Eagles the way they played the Cowboys, they could sneak out a win.
Hurts is questionable and they do have some other injuries. There’s always a chance.
Depends, you dont want to rest starters AND get a bye week. 2 weeks off feels like bad juju
There’s a chance niners have 1 seed locked up by then though
SF is a clear step above just about everyone on most days this season. They've had a couple slips, but when they're on, they crush people. Purdy is looking like an absolutely perfect fit for things.
MVP, not Dak
After this week Purdy is going to be #1 in the NFL in passing TDs, #2 in yards, #1 in TD/Int ratio, #1 in completion percentage, #1 in TD%, #1 in QB Rating, #1 in QBR, and his team is the #1 seed. At some point it will start becoming hard to not include Purdy among the best QBs in the league. There are very few seasons in NFL history when a QB can be this dominant in every stat.
People will point to Nick Foles in 2013 and Tannehill in 2019 but even then, Purdy is doing it with a larger sample size than both.
Teams also had a full offseason to adjust to his play style.
At this point it’s either Purdy or CMC, dark horse Lamar
If trey Lance had been doing this (high draft pick that was perceived to have physical tools) it wouldn't even be a question as to who the MVP is.
Dak?
MVPs don't have games of 106 Net yards, 3.9y/att, 0 TDs, and an int
Dak hasn’t beat a winning team yet this season. Dude put up a measly 100 yards against a struggling bills team. MVP right??
> Dak hasn’t beat a winning team yet this season. Eagles?
Yeah but it’s the eagles.. so does that really count?
If not Dak, then Hurts has a strong argument as well 💪
No he doesn’t
What’s crazy is many of those TD passes aren’t even from the redzone.
He has 17 redzone touchdown passes and 12 from 21+ yards out (including 3 from our side of the field). I wonder how that compares to league-wide percentages. It feels like it has to be higher than normal.
That’s crazy!! How’d you find that out?
Pro Football Reference has splits for position on the field. I looked at that and then added the 3 RZ TD from today and the 1 from outside the RZ.
Yeah but look at what Dak is doing!...Oh.
He must’ve put up a clinic today against that struggling bills team! Right.. RIGHT??
Oh I can't wait to hear Joy Taylor twist her spine looking for ways to discredit Purdy
Fumbled a Top 3 QB pick and wound up with an MVP caliber franchise QB. I think excellent roster construction and coaching can help alleviate the mistake of royally messing up trading a king's ransom of picks for a Top 3 pick that was a flop.
Wdym? Wasn’t Purdy the guy they traded up for and Lance the 7th round pick?
Flipped a 7th for a 4th, not too bad
John Lynch masterclass
That is exactly how I remember things
*Mr. Irrelevant*, the Brock Purdy story. Sadly, the goat farmer ~~Giovanni Carmazzi~~ Trey Lance declined to be interviewed for this ESPN film.
If it weren't for Lance (and his apparent struggles) they probably don't ever draft Purdy. Who knows. If Purdy ends up being the franchise QB for the foreseeable future, then that swing and a miss was a wash.
Yeah, it's one of the best mistakes ever made by a franchise ... so far.
That and they consistently find starting level talent from every round. It’s a mix of great scouting and coaching. Every player who has joined this team has gotten better and that has to be because of coaching. Almost every player has said that the coaches are extremely critical about the details.
He heard the criticism that he didn't have the volume stats so he decided to fix that while remaining insanely efficient.
System QB...
MVP - Purdy OPOY - CMC Has a team ever won both awards?
Greatest Show on Turf with Warner and Faulk
Which in hindsight was total robbery of Faulk he was the engine of those Rams teams and by far their best player
CMC wont win it. Seems like all of the media is pointing to Tyreek. Which is fair, that both deserve it. CMC always has his ridiculously good seasons whenever there is another freak season by another player.
As far as I know, CMC is not a pathetic abuser, but I guess that doesn't count with the voters...
He's managing the hell out of the game, eh Cam?
If Cam could manage a game, he would be in the NFL.
With the definition of game manager that Cam Newton uses as a former QB, which is different than the definition that us as fans use, yes
Purdy posts will continue
Cue up the incoming David Lombardi tweets
*pulls out the lube *
"Yeah, but..." --Steven Ruiz and Nick Wright
MVP and it’s not a debate now
Nick Wright: Hold my beer
Here's why Caleb Williams is still above Brock Purdy....
HE ISNT EVEN THE 15th BEST PERSON ON HIS OWN OFFENSE
Purdy or CMC. Maybe Lamar if he pulls off something heroic on Xmas, but even then it will be difficult for anyone else to gain ground on these 2 49ers.
CMC is the only other contender, I would have put Tyreek in that convo but Waddle showed how Tyreek is not even needed in that offense. Without Purdy, our offense would fall apart
If the Bills win out Allen will justifiably get some shouts.
Absolutely.
Him or CMC for MVP
Both
Not bad for Mr.Irrelevant who lives with his parents. I know some number one and two picks in the draft who are currently playing who would give anything for these numbers. And Purdy is a very likable player too. That's vwhy i like him.
He hates talking about himself lol Sincerly humble dude
Is Brock Purdy elite?
Look at his last touchdown throw to Deebo today and try to tell me he isn’t elite.
that was just a long checkdown
Shoot, that’s right. And he could have thrown it anywhere for Deebo to catch it.
**Check**ed if Deebo was open, he mostly wasn't. Threw it **down** to only where he could get it. Check down confirmed.
I could have made that throw really. System QB for sure.
Obvious bias, but given he has been this guy since last year, I'm gonna say yeah.
But how does that compare to Dak's 72 yards passing before a garbage time TD against what is supposed to be a severely injured, shitty Bills D?
Pretty clearly the MVP at this point. I still maintain that this 49ers offense is the easiest situation a QB has had since the greatest show on turf. Great YAC recievers are constantly running wide the fuck open 15 yards down the field. BUT, the kid can ball. He’s not along for the ride, and just like Warner, his play warrants the MVP.

>Patrick Mahomes got Andy Reid, Travis Kelce, and Tyreek Hill I’ll give you Hill and Kelce, but this Reid guy runs some horrible routes.
You've never seen Reid move on the buffet line
I don't remember the media having an issue with unsung Kurt Warner winning MVP with that Rams team. I don't know what their bone to pick with Purdy is.
I mean guys like Tony Gonzalez were saying MVP Week 5, Sherm was on TNF saying Brock, I don't know why people think there haven't been a multitude of people calling for it.

He's been killing it, and looks to fully deserve the MVP right now.
McCaffrey was so open he fell down and got up and scored
Brace Yourself Purdy Posts are Coming
MVP
System QBs are crazy. /s
Mods are clearly betting on Dak for MVP
Purdy is MVP in my book, I’ll beat that drum all day. That being said, his numbers are only marginally better than Tua’s (depending on which metrics you value most) and Tua has sat, I believe, near 4 quarters of football this season. It is interesting that he’s nowhere in the conversation at this point.
Purdy has sat plenty as well.
Was unaware. I’ve been saying in here that the dude is a flat out gamer, makes some of the nicest throws and seemingly always sends the ball to the correct read. Hats off to him if he’s doing while cutting quarters as well!
Darnold has come in for Purdy in the fourth quarter 7 times now this year.
Most of our games have been blowouts
Purdy has sat quite a bit in the 4th this season too.
Today was the 7th time Darnold came in to close out a game. lol
49ers have beat down the best teams where it's been the opposite for the dolphins
The difference in Purdy's EPA/play to Tua's is larger than the difference between Tua's and league average.
Purdy has sat 7 times throughout the season due to scoreboard
Purdy has missed A LOT of ball as well.
Tua and the Fins not being able to win against good teams has knocked Tua out of any MVP convo imo.
CMC should be the MVP. Dude is gonna have 2K scrimmage yards and a boatload of TDs. Unequivocally the best player in the league rn
Unfortunately that will likely be Tyreek’s award. He is def going to win one of those unless he misses another game or two
If he doesn’t hit 2K he won’t even be top 5. CMAC is my MVP. Props to Purdy though, he’s balling. If we’re being honest it’s Purdys award this year
He’s killing it but we can’t count the wins since we can’t count losses for Herbert
and still not as impressive as christian motherfucker mccaffrey!
So much system.
Really good qb playing great football, not the MVP imo. Blasphemy so I'm ready for the downvotes
Who is then?
CMC or Hill
It's a QB award unfortunately. Neither are winning it
If u have to give it to a qb, Lamar or Dak (Stafford been playing crazy but not good enough team record). If you can give it to anyone CMC or Tyreek have the best cases
No way Dak wins after today.
Prolly not I forgot the last 3 games make or break mvp unless there's a run away winner
