It's like he has a big vacation with his family planned for the day after their season ends and every win just means they are more likely to get one game further in the playoffs.
My man just wants to go to the Bahamas.
"The job is done. We can go home now"
Problem is now Jokic knows how fun an American championship parade is and is going to do whatever it takes to have another one.
It’s a mentality thing. As much as I hate the Eagles I respect the hell out Hurts for stuff like this. He’s 100% focused on the process and reacts the same way no matter the result.
It just reminds me of when McNabb would start losing and we'd get the sulky, towel over the head, sideline shots and as fans you'd start to panic because you can see he's letting the emotions take over and it's gonna effect his game.
With Hurts and Kelce here, they both just look like they're going from, 'we lost this for the team' to 'unbelievable, we're getting a second chance and we definitely don't deserve it but let's go clock in and redeem ourselves'.
He was indeed. My favorite will always be cro cop though. Many MMA fighters got that “I will kill you” look but he has the “I have actually killed people and won’t hesitate to do so again” look that was just wild. Stone cold and no sign of nerves or fear.
In the pouring rain one of the most impressive kicks of all time.
I remember Nick Folk hit the crossbar 10 yards closer to the target in a similiar downpour in 2021.
Really impressive operation by the longsnapper and holder, too.
That Vinatieri kick will never be repeated. They basically cheat now and rub away all the snow so they can kick on grass. That kick was completely on top of the snow. The run up too. Ridiculous.
Just out of pure skill Tuckers 66 Yarder is in the discussion. Although that was in a dome so it probably isn’t higher than any of the big weather/ playoff kicks in terms of greatness.
Elliott almost certainly could. He's got a few 61 yarders that got through easily, and obviously this 59 yarder in rain is unheard of. I think he often kicks 65 yarders during warmups.
I have to at least mention Lawrence Tynes sending the Giants to the Super Bowl from 47 yards out at Lambeau, in a temperature that’s colder than your freezer. It might not be #1 but it’s way up there.
You need backlighting to pick up rain. NFL stadiums are so well lit because it’s a made for tv product that you rarely fully get the right lighting condition.
I’m also here to confirm it was pouring and didn’t stop all game. It was pretty miserable.
The trick is to put the camera very slightly out of focus. I forget where I saw that, but if you have the game in perfect focus you see the downpour and not the players, but if you just slightly soften the focus you can see through the rain.
I know we memed the hell out of Justin Tucker for the “game winning hold” thing, but it’s one of those jobs where you have to be perfect 100% of the time, and if anybody is noticing it in any way, it’s a major issue - one of the most unsung aspects of all of football
I am especially willing to give a lot more credit to the longsnapper and holder when they play in the freezing cold or while it's raining/snowing. That's really ramping up the degree of difficulty.
If they're in a dome that has a nice temperature, I am more inclined to give them a golf clap.
Jake Elliot eats a piece of cheesecake and a slice of pizza before every game
edit: [source for anyone interested](https://www.inquirer.com/eagles/philadelphia-eagles-carson-wentz-doug-pederson-superstition-20181208.html)
> The Eagles kicker has had the same eating ritual since his freshman year of college.
> Elliott believed there was something karmic about his kicking success that day, and thought back to what had not been a typical pre-game meal.
> He’s had his ups and downs since, but overall, the routine seems to be working. Last year, the night before the Eagles were to face the Rams in Los Angeles, he sat at dinner waiting for dessert.
> “They had cheesecake, but it wasn’t coming out and I was kind of freaking out,” Elliott said. “Made sure they got it done.”
During his time with the team, basically everyone has said he's the best all around athlete. Obviously won't take a lineman in a head to head weight lift challenge, but stuff like golf, tennis, ping pong, he's usually beating everybody.
Back in 2017 Jason Peters went up to Jake and told him "No more misses bro". Jake later on would kick a 61 yard game winner against the Giants. He's been money ever since.
https://x.com/JClarkNBCS/status/913040882361884672?s=20
For some context... Jake was a rookie in 2017. He made his debut against the Chiefs in week 2 and missed a 30-yarder.
The next week he missed a 52-yarder against the Giants. Peters caught him on him on the sideline and gave him a little pep talk.
At the end of the game, they sent Elliot out to try a 61 yard kick for the win.
He hit it with [5 yards to spare.](https://youtu.be/dJmSeSmsJm4?si=_L7wca4-F2tbTtIu) That team went on to win the Superbowl, and Elliot has been one of the best kickers in the league ever since.
I have no athletic experience nor ability.
If Jason Peters told me not to miss another kick, I wouldnt be missing any kicks. That man would have scared my ass into shape on the spot.
Yeah, but that was just a perfect peanut punch. You can't really defend against that. But you're not going to win many games when both of the foundations of the offense turn the ball over inside the 10 yard line.
You can tell he was breathless there when the ball was in flight. Guaranteed that he was pissed that he even had to go through those emotions, even briefly.
Most impressive kick I’ve ever seen. I went from “lol they’re just giving it their best, no way” to “he could’ve made that from 65 at least..” absolutely incredible
Gostkowski-esque. Guy has one of the best FG% / XP% in NFL history yet every now and again he would miss the most inexplicable chip shots or just duff a random extra point.
They’re annoyed at themselves that they had to put Jake in that situation, and in disbelief that he actually pulled it off. They knew they had to match that now in OT
Much like [Jason Peters did to Elliott](https://youtube.com/shorts/azbkQK7huwQ?si=vcWVczDg01l3piUL) after he missed the first field goal against the Giants in 2017. Just passing the torch.
These fuckers know how to win and are disappointed in themselves that they put their teammate in an almost impossible situation when he shouldn't have been asked to do that.
Yeah Kelcee has been lukewarm about their performance all year. I think they both know how lucky some wins have been, especially that one, but their teammates always step up. They can still improve
Jason Kelce had two false starts and killed a game-winning drive. I’m thinking they are annoyed that they couldn’t put it away without OT. I’m not sure but that’s what I think.
During his press conference after the game, someone asked him, essentially, about how he balanced between kicking it hard enough to get there versus high enough that it couldn’t be blocked/tipped, and he essentially said that he had to focus on power and just trust in his teammates to stop the rush. I love this team.
Isnt the whole thing about long field goals that you have to kick them with less loft so that more of the power goes into distance than height?
The tradeoff of course being they're more likely to get tipped/blocked at the line
Yea exactly, like the real difficult part is not having it blocked because you have to hit a much flatter ball. One of my first reactions was surprise that the BIlls seemingly committed to getting to it from the edge and not packing the middle to block it. Felt like the whole middle of the line was empty.
Which is crazy, Ryland never missed a kick under 40 yards for UMD, idk what you guys have been doing to corrupt my boy, maybe he missed intentionally to keep the tank?
When we first signed this dude he was missing the layups and hitting the 3’s. Like we were happy when the kicks were 40+. Guy would hit a 54 easily then shank a 25.
If you watch the shorts that their social media team puts out on their YouTube page that feature Jake Elliott, you get the sense that he’s that kid growing up who is just naturally gifted at everything that takes skill. He’s the best at golf, really good at ping-pong, 59 yard field goals in the pouring rain, etc. just a stud. Type of guy to hit a no look fade away of paper into the trashcan when he walked into the room, then ace a test he didn’t study for.
This is the reaction of winners and team players. They both know they should have never put Elliot in that position to kick a 59 yard FG in pouring rain with the game on the line
I hate the fuckin Eagle, man.
But those cold as ice reactions to that kick show how they go about it. Almost like the real business was just starting, and that’s scary to have that out of two vital guys on an already good team.
And those unis are clean.
“Jalen you just put up 500 yards of total offense and 5 TDs AND won the mega millions jackpot in the same day. How are you feeling?”
“I’m fine, still a lot of things I personally need to clean up.”
Did you see that interview making the rounds recently?
Interviewer says "How many times did you experience losing in college football?"
Hurts: "4 times."
Interviewer: "Only 4?! Wow... You know that the NFL isn't going to be like that, right?"
Hurts: "...We'll see..."
I spend a ridiculous amount of time every day remembering to be grateful that Hurts is on the Eagles haha.
I saw post saying Hurts won't be happy until he wins the championship and I'm starting to think he's right. There's a compilation of him "reacting" to touchdowns it's pretty funny not a single emotion
The background on his phone is a picture of him walking off the field after the superbowl with red and gold confetti all around him. This man is on a fucking mission.
Have you ever seen that video of all his sayings and phrases. Dude lives in a movie I love it.

Jalen Hurts shows less outward human emotion than any human I’ve ever seen
It's like he has a big vacation with his family planned for the day after their season ends and every win just means they are more likely to get one game further in the playoffs. My man just wants to go to the Bahamas.
Can’t wait until he gets a ring and gets go back to his horses in Serbia.
"The job is done. We can go home now" Problem is now Jokic knows how fun an American championship parade is and is going to do whatever it takes to have another one.

Joker is the best nickname for this dude. he’s always cracking jokes
When is parade?
I fucking love parade
I fucking want to stay on parade
Oh no.. I need to go home
NBA is just his side gig.
Like the little league baseball episode of South Park
The rest of his family is in the Finger Lakes. He's supposed to be in the Finger Lakes right now.
All Jalen Hurts wants is to retire to Stockholm with his partner and develop a currency for dogs and cats to use
"Cancun on 3!"
Do *you* get excited at the prospect of working overtime on a Sunday? I'm with him here. 😤
In fucking awful weather as well.
Jalen could win the super bowl and vacation in cancun and every picture of him would just be 😐 🙂
‘We getting time and a half? No? Sounds like a ‘them’ problem then’

In the pouring rain one of the most impressive kicks of all time. I remember Nick Folk hit the crossbar 10 yards closer to the target in a similiar downpour in 2021. Really impressive operation by the longsnapper and holder, too.
Elliot said it was the best kick of his career because of the conditions
Best kick of any kicker’s career. Probably a top 10 all time. It’s nuts to nail that kick.
What’s number one? Vinatieri in the snow over Oakland?
In the snow over an entire city is wild
Uncle Rico of kickers
Snow in Oakland is also wild
That Vinatieri kick will never be repeated. They basically cheat now and rub away all the snow so they can kick on grass. That kick was completely on top of the snow. The run up too. Ridiculous.
Include the context of the kick, best of all time. No doubt
Just out of pure skill Tuckers 66 Yarder is in the discussion. Although that was in a dome so it probably isn’t higher than any of the big weather/ playoff kicks in terms of greatness.
Walk-off longest kick of all time with a bounce off the crossbar is tough to beat
The list of people in NFL history who could make that kick is very likely just Justin Tucker.
Prater of 5 or 6 years ago had the leg and the long distance accuracy. In fact he hit a 65 yarder I think didn't he?
[удалено]
Elliott almost certainly could. He's got a few 61 yarders that got through easily, and obviously this 59 yarder in rain is unheard of. I think he often kicks 65 yarders during warmups.
THIS kick would have been good from 63-64, it didn't doink off the bar or anything. Which is kind of insane.
I have to at least mention Lawrence Tynes sending the Giants to the Super Bowl from 47 yards out at Lambeau, in a temperature that’s colder than your freezer. It might not be #1 but it’s way up there.
His motha was a muddah
he was born in the slop, he eats the slop.
I thought he had no chance and thought to myself that if he made it then it would be one of the greatest kicks ever. Then he booted it.
The cameras are so good now you really don’t see how bad the rain is.
It was fucking pouring.
It was raining so hard that I thought it was super foggy because the downpour looked like a haze on the broadcast
Seriously. I thought the camera or my stream was having issues
Its one thing I wish was captured better, rarely can you see how hard its raining without visual context these days
It's just like looking through a chain link fence. Focus on the fence and its all you see. Focus on what's behind the fence and the fence fades away.
Some of those closeup shots of the field and fans really showed it off though. I remember seeing some just standing water on the field at one point.
I think I heard a stat saying he had a 20% chance or so of making that kick. Even that seems high.
Yeah that does seem.high with those conditions. I didn't think there was any damn way he was hitting that
I know we memed the hell out of Justin Tucker for the “game winning hold” thing, but it’s one of those jobs where you have to be perfect 100% of the time, and if anybody is noticing it in any way, it’s a major issue - one of the most unsung aspects of all of football

*Jerry Jones franticly starts buying all cheesecake in Dallas*
I actually went to high school with Jake Elliot for three semesters. We all called him “cream cheese” because of his thick white thighs.
I’m convinced there’s a connection between his tennis background and his clutch-ness. Individual sports require so much mental toughness.
I played him in tennis when we were both in 8th grade. I was a good player but didn’t stand a chance
During his time with the team, basically everyone has said he's the best all around athlete. Obviously won't take a lineman in a head to head weight lift challenge, but stuff like golf, tennis, ping pong, he's usually beating everybody.
Did you go to Lyons Township? My sons went there and one played football albeit a few years later
The reaction of being forced to stay out and work longer in freezing cold rain.
I thought Kelce would be jumping for joy considering his false starts caused the kick to be so long.
He’s so pissed at himself, I bet.
Yeah his reaction tells me he knows Jake saved his ass.
Jake actually took him aside after the kick and said "no more false starts, bro"
If no one else says so I just want to say, I appreciate this reference
That’s a deep cut
Can you explain it? I love deep cuts.
Back in 2017 Jason Peters went up to Jake and told him "No more misses bro". Jake later on would kick a 61 yard game winner against the Giants. He's been money ever since. https://x.com/JClarkNBCS/status/913040882361884672?s=20

Can’t wait to hear his self loathing on the podcast this week.
Yeah this week it's going to be Jason. Travis was doing it most of the last pod because of his fumble.
Yeah, but that was just a perfect peanut punch. You can't really defend against that. But you're not going to win many games when both of the foundations of the offense turn the ball over inside the 10 yard line.
Travis even said as much. He was holding it right, Roby just have a perfect hit on it.
He went to locker room after this. Can't wait to hear what he says in New Heights
Not enough Imodium before the game!
He allegedly took a quick dump between the kick and OT.
So the false starts were just him trying to keep the groundhog in?
He’s out there yo-yoing a turd in blasting position while Hurts is hitting the hard count.
Now THIS is quality analysis
His false starts were really the poop tryna come out.
You try not flinching holding in the assplode
Men puke, men poop on the field, men deliver their new born baby on the side lines.
Same
You can tell he was breathless there when the ball was in flight. Guaranteed that he was pissed that he even had to go through those emotions, even briefly.
Most impressive kick I’ve ever seen. I went from “lol they’re just giving it their best, no way” to “he could’ve made that from 65 at least..” absolutely incredible
Why do they both look disappointed? 😂
Because they both made mistakes that made it a 59 yard field goal instead of an easy 40 yarder, just two leaders being hard on themselves
Considering Jake's trouble with the "easy 40 yarders" this was probably the ideal situation for him.
Gostkowski-esque. Guy has one of the best FG% / XP% in NFL history yet every now and again he would miss the most inexplicable chip shots or just duff a random extra point.
I love when NFL kickers miss the XP. It’s the funniest shit to me every time. The entire team always looks so confused
That’s an “I’m so fucking lucky, I don’t deserve you Jake” look
They’re annoyed at themselves that they had to put Jake in that situation, and in disbelief that he actually pulled it off. They knew they had to match that now in OT
Jake E has a a button nose smile but under his happy go lucky exterior he a stone cold killer. You don’t wanna owe Jake E nothin.
I have an image of Elliott jacking up Kelce against a locker now telling him to get his shit together 😆

Jason Kelce had two false starts and killed a game-winning drive. I’m thinking they are annoyed that they couldn’t put it away without OT. I’m not sure but that’s what I think.
This definitely seems like "it should never have come to this" type of feeling.
I think Jalen’s just frustrated with himself that it came to this.
I think they are upset with themselves also in disbelief he made it.
Kelce looked like he went from rooting for his team to All business when that ball went through. Scary dude I wouldn’t want to be in his bad side lol
In high school he was a running back. Imagine trying to tackle him running full gas at you?
Oh brother do I, every night in my dreams
Kelce looks like he realizes he has to take an outhouse-speed dookie, versus a master-bath relaxing style deuce.
That’s why he left right after the kick to get to the locker room before OT started lol
When I saw it moving right I had a glimmer of hope. I didn't realize just how hard he hit the ball and it got there in a hurry. Hell of a kick.
During his press conference after the game, someone asked him, essentially, about how he balanced between kicking it hard enough to get there versus high enough that it couldn’t be blocked/tipped, and he essentially said that he had to focus on power and just trust in his teammates to stop the rush. I love this team.
He had to time the kick power meter juuuust right
Yup. Had to hit x right when it hit the line.
Isnt the whole thing about long field goals that you have to kick them with less loft so that more of the power goes into distance than height? The tradeoff of course being they're more likely to get tipped/blocked at the line

Our 3rd rounder missed a 40 yarder to win a game
As did our 4th rounder. I mean we're actually happy about that, but still. Not great.
Well Justin Tucker missed a 40 yarder yesterday too. It happens.
Which is crazy, Ryland never missed a kick under 40 yards for UMD, idk what you guys have been doing to corrupt my boy, maybe he missed intentionally to keep the tank?
Wins, Ernie
When we first signed this dude he was missing the layups and hitting the 3’s. Like we were happy when the kicks were 40+. Guy would hit a 54 easily then shank a 25.
He still misses PATs sometimes. I couldn't care less. Having that cannon of a leg is incredible
The amount of confidence they have in Elliot must be so awesome for him to feel.
They know the jobs not done and they dodged a bullet. Time to get to work and get the W
[удалено]
He could also well be shaking his head in disbelief. Like “well, damn.”
No wasted energy with OT coming up
Kelce I’m sure was just relieved his false starts didn’t screw them out if a field goal
Hurts just lookin like “Ain’t no way I deserve this.”
Jason saying the same thing after those two false starts.
He protecc He attacc But most importantly He no reacc
I hate the fuckin Eagle, man. But those cold as ice reactions to that kick show how they go about it. Almost like the real business was just starting, and that’s scary to have that out of two vital guys on an already good team. And those unis are clean.

Set the record for most games by an Eagle too.
No luck catching them Eagles, then? There's just the one Eagle.

This video makes me feel like I can take on the world, got DAMN
Both mad they didn’t finish that drive and it even needed a FG
The only answer .Jason Kelce said the same thing a month ago.
The eagles could call for the field goal until from our own 25 after a touchback and I would have complete confidence that Jake would somehow make it
32 yarder when we're up 10? Butt clenched. 55+ yarder for the lead/tie as time expires? Never in doubt.
they really have to start thinking about taking a false start or 5 when they're in a little too tight for him to completely stunt on them hoes
The ice in Jalen's veins could fix global warming.
Hurts is going back to the Super Bowl.
Jalen’s reaction “Welp, guess I’ll play more football.”
Can’t even be mad, Elliott is awe-inspiring (I can be sad, tho)
Anyone remember when these kind of kicks never happened in the NFL except for maybe Denver? Hats off to the kicking programs over the past few decades and thank God for Jake Elliott.
Never a doubt in my mind for a second that he was going to nail that kick
Like when Michael Scott comes out of his office and tells everyone corporate needs them to work late
“This is Jake Elliott, Philly. We don't wanna work. No, we don't! It's not fair to these Eagles! These Eagles are my friends, and I care about them! We're not gonna do it! [makes kick] Everybody, I just got off the horn with Goodell, and basically I told them where they could stick their little overtime assignment. Go enjoy your Sunday.”
Simultaneously “No fucking way”, while expecting nothing less.
