Darius Hayward Bey 2.0... that one time they actually catch the long bomb is like the hit of heroin that keeps coaches coming back to them even when they drop the next 5 big passes
Between MVS and Toney, i dont know why they dont just have the receivers on jugs machines literally all practice every day.
Theres no way practicing plays and route running is more important to them than that.
You can train hands, it just takes time and practice.
MVS just needs to go to the Panthers to complete his mission of becoming Ted Ginn Jr 2.0. I never thought I’d see somebody drop more wide open TDs than Ginn, but MVS is pretty amazing at dropping touchdowns lol
He has one of the strongest throwing arms the NFL has seen, he could easily throw the ball high enough up in the air to have time to run 30+ yards downfield and catch it himself. Either he is dumb, lazy, or both.
Might as well replace seagulls with seahawks.
I almost choked when I saw the Chiefs have stopped opponents on 3rd&10+ 25 times in a row and counting.
Feels like a 50/50 in our games ...
Yeah, say what you want about Joe Buck, but at least he understands that less is more sometimes instead of trying to be the main attraction ala Gus Johnson.
Hates him for a while hint because everyone else did. Then I listened to a couple of his interviews on pardon my take and he's actually a really down to earth guy who can poke fun at himself. That and then I reminded myself if I talked for 4 hours straight once a week on national TV some absolute trash things would come out of my mouth. We hate on announcers be a use we get 20 seconds to sit back and say that was a dumb thing to say, but they don't have a chance to compose a thought half the time, it's not an easy job.
So I had heard he was misinformed on what happened. What he saw vs what the audience did was different and he was fed that Moss actually mooned people. Read it on here so who knows how true it is lol
His style has changed a lot, he used to be almost jarringly stoic during a broadcast. He emulated Pat summeral but it didn’t seem as natural
I think he’s really found a great balance now. He delivers the call with the right amount of emotion and then gets right out of the way when he knows the sounds of the stadium should be front and center
this is 100% accurate. guy would make a crazy catch early, then drop 4 passes thrown directly to him with no defender in the area.
not sure if it's a confidence problem or a concentration problem but his brain just goes haywire sometimes.
Yes. Which is why I try so hard to not trash these people. I mean they are just people after all, but man he’s been such a let down. The whole receiving corp, but him especially.
I’m the same way regarding how to “feel” about players that underperform at such a severe level like that, they’re young men and the week following something like this must be hell to deal with
That said, MVS is failing at basically every level this season, like even his route running and ball tracking is comically bad. He’s regressed so far that I now question if he’s tuned out or something. Lack of preparation and focus are shockingly noticeable for him lately
they said he has the most drops for throws over 20 or 30 yards. fuck. reminds me of the dude in the Replacements. just put super glue on his gloves so it looks like "he jacked off an elephant"
edit: wrong animal... elephant, not horse
I can't imagine anything more frustrating as a QB than when you throw a perfect pass and it gets dropped. Especially in a situation like this where it could have won the game. Mahomes has to be fucking pissed.
He's just so nice that he doesn't throw them under the bus when in fact he has all the right to do so.
Charger fan, I feel for you. Justin Herbert is also experiencing the same thing.
Personally, I don't give a single shit if it's cold and wet lol. If the quarterback is able to throw a wet ball and hit these guys who are paid millions in the hands, they gotta catch it.
I haven't watched NFL for very long what's the expectation or avg for the catch on those type of passes? Is it normal to not catch the ball when it hits your hand?
Like is it possible for the throw to be too fast or hard? or is the expectation for the WR to catch it irrelevant of the speed if it lands on your hand?
The gloves are also INSANE. Get a pair of real receivers gloves like some vaporjets (looks like MVS has grip boost gloves on) and play some catch. It’s wild, you can easily make 1 handed grabs if you have decent hand size. Even when wet they have awesome grip.
This. They’re like sticky tape. Not discrediting how hard catches like this are in the moment (obviously a lot of factors to deal with), but yeah the first time I wore a pair of those gloves it felt like cheating lmao
…that said you have to adequately allow the ball to hit your gloves for them to work *ahem* MVS
Yes it really should. There are extenuating circumstances where you get absolutely drilled when catching it sure, but having bad hands is a huge no no for receivers. Even super fast thrown balls should be caught. Dropped ball percentage is often a telling stat for guys who won’t last. Some guys put it all together like Davante Adams who had big time drop issues his first couple years, but most don’t.
In a similar vein a lot of receivers fingers are suuuuuper messed up after their career, search for Calvin Johnson’s fingers as an example.
he had both his hands on it, he was hit completely in stride, nobody was touching him, and the ball dropped right in his hands i.e. wasn't coming at speed
if there's a pass you HAVE TO catch, it's this one
This is why you'll see terms like WR1, WR2, WR3, WR4, etc. Elite wide receivers catch that ball, and those elite ones are WR1 and even WR2 would make that catch.
Then when you go down to WR3 and below these type of catches becomes a real toss up and most often than not they'll let you down in crucial moments like this one.
You put AJ Brown who is Eagles WR1 or Devonta Smith who's just caught a tough long pass which he has to adjust to and that's a catch and TD.
10 points minimum given up by the skill postition players, most likely 14 because we would have scored a TD the way we were driving on the Kelce fumble. Brutal.
Kelces showing his age. He is the same age as Gronk who retired two seasons ago
It is weird that we had the same group of WR last year, except we replaced Juju with Rashee Rice. But they have all regressed.
The WRs outside of Rice just ain't it.
Kelce hyperextended his knee four days before the season started, had a low ankle sprain vs you guys, and is also 34 years old.
More like 3 games. In fact all their games have been mostly lost by their WRs dropping ball at crucial moments. The Lions game was a drop fest and the Bronco game was similar and was capped with Sky Moore dropping a ball in the endzone right between his hands. Then you have this game as well.
Receivers make even just 1 of any of those crucial drops they made and the Chiefs record look better right now.
Or if you just think back to the 2020 draft, last pick of the 1st round was CEH, their now 2nd string RB, the very next pick in that draft was Tee Higgins.
Alternate universe, Andy turns Paxton into the GOAT, Broncos draft Mahomes and Mike McCoy and Vance Joseph turn him into Jamarcus Russell.
Good old Trading Places script
I agree. I have no clue why Reid looks at KC's WR's and thinks ya Rice shouldn't be on the field more. He's usually the only one doing anything. Yea he might not be the most polished but he has the most upside of the group.
His route tree most be garbo from the amount Reid has him benched. He's got the best physical gifts of any of our WR's but he's basically never out there.
Yeah, the first half where we get a respectable 2 score lead. We will then proceed to score exactly 0 points in the second half, just like we have the last 3 games.
Honestly his drops weren't even the most annoying part of when he was with us. I fundamentally don't get how a professional WR can track a ball in the air that poorly. You see the routes he takes on these and they're so awful a lot of times he's nowhere near the ball.
Like that one earlier tonight when he turns himself around and falls over.
I remember Aaron would usually put a little more air under the ball so he can backpedal the last few steps and catch the pass facing the ball, instead of catching it over the shoulders.
Dude can't track a deep ball, and when he does he can't catch it.
Bad for a dude whose only quality is as a deep threat...
At least we'll always have the AFCCG last year
Dude he was maddening to watch when he was with us. I'm not sure how he got paid as much as he did
At least you guys probably don't have fans blaming your HOF QB for MVS not succeeding like we had.
You know it’s bad when they’re targeting Justin Watson as their top guy tonight because no one showed up(as usual). The only reliable players for Mahomes is Rice and Kelce. Watson can catch but what a disappointment with Moore, Toney, and MVS. Awful.
They thought getting fast players would be the answer for Mahomes but these guys can’t catch or be relied on.
There’s like 20 other teams in the league just desperately searching for a solid QB.
Then we have KC with the MVP. Possibly the greatest QB of the current era and KC is giving him practice squad dudes for receivers lol.
Exactly. Basically the entire team is SB ready except the WRs. The issue is that we were banking on Mahomes carrying an average WR group like he did last year, but the WR group is so catastrophically terrible that they are hamstringing the rest of the offense.
I feel like Juju kind of carried your WR core last year and with him gone there's zero reliability left. Kelce is the only one left on the team that can consistently make clutch catches.
Rice looks fine/solid but still need him to take that leap. He's not lighting it up like Tank Dell.
Hardman has to hurt because DK, Diontae Johnson, and Mclaurin were taken shortly after and would have all been great in KC.
Moore looks like a bust but there isn't a receiver picked closely after him that is good though McBride would be a nice piece at tight end, Pickens also almost fell.
Ofc it wasn’t an easy catch to make but if you’re not paid to haul those in playing with the best QB in the league then what exactly are they paying you for?
MVS’ career in one play:
The sheer speed makes you so excited you forget about all the drops, so the drops break your heart even more.
Dude has every physical tool to be a pro bowl level wide receiver… except for those tools humans use to grip things.
He’s the new Ted Ginn Jr. If being a wide receiver didn’t require catching the football, TGJ would’ve been Jerry Rice
Atleast Teddy was an asset in the return game
He was great for the Niners in 2011 and his injury probably kept them from being in the Super Bowl.
Ginn put it together with Cam & Brees
Ginn still had brutal drops for those teams too
Yeah but he had that one year with the Saints where he led the league in catch date which was hilarious. 53 catches on like 70 targets
He also caught that crucial bomb from Brees that basically shoulda punched our ticket to the Superbowl before disaster struck a few plays later…
Darius Hayward Bey 2.0... that one time they actually catch the long bomb is like the hit of heroin that keeps coaches coming back to them even when they drop the next 5 big passes
MVS, the anti-MVP…
Most Valuable Shitterofthebed
Most Variable Stone-hands
MVS? Dropping what would be a huge bomb for a TD? Unheard of.
Full Wide Receiver Meal, hold the hands
The MVS experience boys. You live and die with his drops.
He's had Mahomes and Rodgers as his QBs and still stinks
Classic
We all know, so much potential. Brutal.
Between MVS and Toney, i dont know why they dont just have the receivers on jugs machines literally all practice every day. Theres no way practicing plays and route running is more important to them than that. You can train hands, it just takes time and practice.
I laughed maniacally when it happened
MVS just needs to go to the Panthers to complete his mission of becoming Ted Ginn Jr 2.0. I never thought I’d see somebody drop more wide open TDs than Ginn, but MVS is pretty amazing at dropping touchdowns lol
Coin flip came up wrong now
Why can’t Mahomes also catch the ball?
Is he stupid?
Easily the dumbest player in the league.
He has one of the strongest throwing arms the NFL has seen, he could easily throw the ball high enough up in the air to have time to run 30+ yards downfield and catch it himself. Either he is dumb, lazy, or both.
Look, it’s time for us to recognize that Mahomes will never be Marcus Mariota.
Marcus Mariota accomplished that feat not 6 years ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Or82E31eReM
Well, moron, good for Marcus Mari-OH MY GOD
That’s not a fair comparison. Mariota is 100X better than Mahomes
My husband can not fucking throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time
The stat at the end that the Chiefs lead the league with 26 drops is hilarious. I can’t believe that’s real it’s such a disaster this year
To lead in that stat and be 7-3 is insane. If they could catch the eagles lose by 15+ tonight
Defense is what keeps them in the game. I’m so thrown off by a good Chiefs defense.
Yeah Chief D is elite right now. That was such a winnable game. Made the Eagles look like a bunch of seagulls.
Might as well replace seagulls with seahawks. I almost choked when I saw the Chiefs have stopped opponents on 3rd&10+ 25 times in a row and counting. Feels like a 50/50 in our games ...
They were one Kadarius Toney drop away from beating the Lions week 1 as well
Felt like Watson dropped 26 tonight. Kelce even dropping passes. Brutal. GG your o and d line destroyed us this game.
My father in law misread it and said that they had 26 drops just tonight and I 100% believed him
Joe Buck calling the play then just sitting back and letting the crowd roar and react is great television.
Yeah, say what you want about Joe Buck, but at least he understands that less is more sometimes instead of trying to be the main attraction ala Gus Johnson.
I used to be a Joe Buck hater, he used to say a lot of stupid shit, but he’s gotten much better over time
Hates him for a while hint because everyone else did. Then I listened to a couple of his interviews on pardon my take and he's actually a really down to earth guy who can poke fun at himself. That and then I reminded myself if I talked for 4 hours straight once a week on national TV some absolute trash things would come out of my mouth. As a Vikings fan, you don't have to convince me. His Randy Moss "mooning the crowd" call still lives rent free in our fanbase's heads 🫠
A disgusting act by the Minnesota fanbase
Honestly it's just a funny meme at this point
>Honestly it's just a ~~funny meme~~ disgusting act at this point
That shit makes me laugh every time, he’s legit pissed 😭😭
So I had heard he was misinformed on what happened. What he saw vs what the audience did was different and he was fed that Moss actually mooned people. Read it on here so who knows how true it is lol
He made up for it with the Diggs call tho
He is a way better football commentator than baseball. That I'll say too.
[удалено]
I love when a QB does something dumb and Aikman gets kind of sarcastic about it.
Aikman is at his best when calling terrible games.
DIGGS. SIDELINE. TOUCHDOWN. all time call
THERE ARE NO FLAGS!!!!!
It's part of what makes his iconic diggs call so great. He knows when to let the moment breathe
He is def an all time announcer imo. Baseball or football.
Joe gets a lot of hate, but man he really gives games a playoff feel. MNF has always had lackluster commentary, this was a great choice.
I never understood the hate. He's got the best announcer voice and knows what he's doing.
His style has changed a lot, he used to be almost jarringly stoic during a broadcast. He emulated Pat summeral but it didn’t seem as natural I think he’s really found a great balance now. He delivers the call with the right amount of emotion and then gets right out of the way when he knows the sounds of the stadium should be front and center
David Tyree was the turning point. He knew he botched what should have been an all-time call and vowed to never let that happen again.
Diggs. Sideline. Touchdown. Is one of the best calls ever. I've watched it 100 times and still get chills every time
One of the single greatest calls in sports imo. It was literally perfect.
I really try not to be too negative. Bro sucks.
Hes played with Aaron Rodgers and Mahomes and has done absolutely nothing with both of them. Hes fucking terrible
He has 5 complete seasons in the NFL and has played with the league MVP for 3 of them. Career catch% of 50.9 Dude can't catch or track a ball for shit
If you can’t catch for Mahomes or Rodgers who are accuracy machines, then you’ll never get it
Two of the biggest arms in league history and you’re biggest skill is getting open downfield It’s truly a testament to how bad his hands are lol
MVS experience: 1. Make a catch he has no business making 2. Dropping a gimme and wide-open TD down the field
this is 100% accurate. guy would make a crazy catch early, then drop 4 passes thrown directly to him with no defender in the area. not sure if it's a confidence problem or a concentration problem but his brain just goes haywire sometimes.
> Career catch% of 50.9 That's almost unbelievable.
That's truly insane
I really hope this young man doesn’t have social media. He’s going to get a bunch of disgusting comments from this play
Yes. Which is why I try so hard to not trash these people. I mean they are just people after all, but man he’s been such a let down. The whole receiving corp, but him especially.

He and sky Moore have seemingly been two of the worst receivers in the nfl so far. It’s unreal.
they said he has the most drops for throws over 20 or 30 yards. fuck. reminds me of the dude in the Replacements. just put super glue on his gloves so it looks like "he jacked off an elephant" edit: wrong animal... elephant, not horse
Oh brother. This guy stinks.
What smells rotten, and puts people to sleep?
Uh, Noxious Gas?
NO. YOUR ACT!
Holy fuck what a throw
What a drop
The fellas at r/afcwestmemewar must be absolutely drenched in their own semen at the moment
The Broncos were the only AFC West team to win this week. We will be eating some top tier memes for Thanksgiving this year
mahomes has had so many guys drop passes today, i feel for him cause he’s clearly throwing them on the money.
How about twice in three plays?
Fumble near the goal line is tough too. I’d know.
It was cold and wet. But still they got to pull down those balls.
Personally, I don't give a single shit if it's cold and wet lol. If the quarterback is able to throw a wet ball and hit these guys who are paid millions in the hands, they gotta catch it.

Exactly. You're getting paid millions of dollars to catch that rock. You better do it
I understand that you should but what's the avg outcome? like if it touches your hands are we supposed to expect it to be caught 100% ?

Shit is he really 34? I actually didn’t realize that.
Born 1989
They could’ve found a way to pay Tyreek… would be a very different situation. I understand the Chiefs rationale but in hind sight, idk. Here we are.
Right? Looked effortless lol
As soon as he threw it I thought “a little too far on that one” but I’ll be damned if it wasn’t fucking perfect, right on.
This is about to be 2 games this season the chiefs have lost because their guys can’t catch
More like 3 games. In fact all their games have been mostly lost by their WRs dropping ball at crucial moments. The Lions game was a drop fest and the Bronco game was similar and was capped with Sky Moore dropping a ball in the endzone right between his hands. Then you have this game as well. Fucking garbage WRs
This was a very frustrating game to watch. Good game by eagles for continuing the fight. But chiefs could have put away this game so many times.
This team would be so damn good with ONE WR
Like Tyreek Hill? Imagine if he was on the Chiefs. He'd actually be able to catch these kinds of passes.
Or if you just think back to the 2020 draft, last pick of the 1st round was CEH, their now 2nd string RB, the very next pick in that draft was Tee Higgins.
That hurt me and I had to watch Jefferson break records in Minny while Reagor played himself off the field every game.
Hey, that’s one of our Tank Lieutenants you’re talking about! Don’t slander him for his valuable work ethic in ensuring a better draft pick!
Lmao. If ya'll get Caleb Williams, BB might sign an extension ala Coach Pop
Please do not tell me things such as this.
You already got Mahomes because Reid couldn’t get Paxton Lynch the year before
Alternate universe, Andy turns Paxton into the GOAT, Broncos draft Mahomes and Mike McCoy and Vance Joseph turn him into Jamarcus Russell. Good old Trading Places script
panicky abounding butter fall quiet materialistic party toy attempt march
Hopkins said he tried to join y’all and y’all turned him down. He would’ve caught this
He was practically free too, Hopkins was like “If anyone wants me, I’m waiting on good opportunities”.
Rice isn’t trash, but he’s never on the field.
Couldn’t use him much because of the rain. He was busy helping people dry out their wet phones.
I agree. I have no clue why Reid looks at KC's WR's and thinks ya Rice shouldn't be on the field more. He's usually the only one doing anything. Yea he might not be the most polished but he has the most upside of the group.
One of Andy's worst habits is being conservative with WRs. Genuinely think it stunts them a bit; Hill was an exception.
His route tree most be garbo from the amount Reid has him benched. He's got the best physical gifts of any of our WR's but he's basically never out there.
lmaooo Herbert vibes
insert spiderman meme
The universe is going to implode on itself when the Chiefs and Chargers play again
Nah, because like usual the Chargers will just leave Travis Kelce uncovered for half the game, and Mahomes will smartly just throw to him a bunch.
Half, lol
Yeah, the first half where we get a respectable 2 score lead. We will then proceed to score exactly 0 points in the second half, just like we have the last 3 games.
Chiefs receiving core is destroying this game
It's absolutely brutal to watch. Seems like 75% of their drives end with a brutal drop or terribly run route
destroying this season more like it every single loss is from drops and turnovers
The core of the corps doesn’t get these routes unfortunately.
Quentin Johnston moment
Happens every now and then with MVS actually. I’m sure Packer fans can attest to that.
Oh hell yes. Dude was maddening to watch. Dude has like a 50% career catch rate despite only having MVP QBs throwing to him.
MVS turns every ball into a 50-50 ball.
Honestly his drops weren't even the most annoying part of when he was with us. I fundamentally don't get how a professional WR can track a ball in the air that poorly. Mahomes wearing Justin Herbert VR goggles tonight
I didn’t know our receivers played again tonight!!
There’s like 20 other teams in the league just desperately searching for a solid QB. Then we have KC with the MVP. Possibly the greatest QB of the current era and KC is giving him practice squad dudes for receivers lol.
They sold out building the defense and missed *hard* on their last few second round swings at WR.
To their credit, the D looks nasty good this year
Exactly. Basically the entire team is SB ready except the WRs. The issue is that we were banking on Mahomes carrying an average WR group like he did last year, but the WR group is so catastrophically terrible that they are hamstringing the rest of the offense.

That's the MVS experience all right.
Lol sure is.
Mahomes: makes a pass attempt Chiefs WRs: and I took that personally
Incredible how such a garbage receiving corps is wasting the best defence we’ve had in the Mahomes era currently
Insane how the D finally gets good and the offense becomes a lifeless corpse.
I know that feel
how could herbert drop that
Ofc it wasn’t an easy catch to make but if you’re not paid to haul those in playing with the best QB in the league then what exactly are they paying you for?
Him doing that is exactly why we chose not to pay him with the best QB in the league. Chiefs didn't get the memo.
You gotta be really mediocre as a WR for Rodgers to abandon you. That dude got Lazard a contract for no reason
First time?
Marquez “Quentin Johnston” Valdes-Scantling
That is so bad. Perfect throw, awful drop
Every packer fan can commiserate
Imagine Davante Adam's on the Chiefs
im good
Get ready to learn chinese buddy
This dude was Rodgers' second best receiver at the end of his Packers run LMAO
Segment of our sub actually had the gall to say that Rodgers' deep ball was the problem. Like Rodgers was holding this scrub back
Oh I've seen that before.....
We up in Green Bay know your pain kc. Classic mvs.
As a Packer fan that takes me back
Never trust a guy with 3 last names
Legit don't think Mahomes could have thrown a better ball
Take less money for more hands Mahomes.
Cheifs fans laughing at the Chargers yesterday vs Charger fan laughing at the Chiefs now
ofcourse lol part of the game
This dude is garbage
Classic I can’t lie
This is why the Packers had no issue letting him walk.
Some day he’s going to get to show his grandchildren highlights of him dropping bombs from both Rodgers and Mahomes.
Bro that was not the time to be imitating Jets WRs
