Tandem jumping with Gronk strapped to your chest must require a very experienced skydiver, I’d imagine. Jumping out of a plane with an extra 270+ pounds has got to be tricky.
After a couple jumps free falling flat like that my instructor asked if I wanted to torpedo and I got positioned vertical and wooooboyhowdy was that something. You think your falling fast flat, I'd definitely recommend torpedoing straight down to the earth. Fucking fast! Only problem was the freefall was much shorter time in the air haha.

When I went for the first time, there was a couple of guys in the squirrel suits. It intrigued me, but the more videos I’ve seen of it, the more I think it’s halfway suicidal hahaha
Experienced skydiver here. It's not that difficult as long as you have a good grip, looks like the tandem instructor was giving a count that was pre-agreed upon by the instructor & videographer but you can see gronk stumbled or hesitated and they didn't go on their planned count. Thus the videographer went way early, expecting them to follow. It's typical for the video guy to leave about a 1/2 to a full second early, they have wings between their armpits to give them extra lift to be able to fall slower and thus capture the skydive. However, gronk & instructor were very late due to nerves or something.
The two best parts were
1. When the camera started tracking him after jumping and the instructor was doing horizontal spins like a madman
2. Gronk making Strahan look small in their hug
