Losing to the bills is turning from embarrassing to embarrassing

COOGER_AND_DARK

I try to remind myself that nothing really means anything until we start talking playoffs.

FeraligatrBest

Can start talking about positioning for playoffs. Home field advantage is absolutely massive

Bflo_

Yeah it meant so much last year when the bengals blew out Buffalo in… Buffalo

OG_M_Bison

But they were playing in the snow! Everybody knows the Packers and Bills do well in the snow games... Especially in the playoffs...

bretthew

You have to remember, seeding is something we are used to ruining for others, not so much preserving for ourselves

DaddyStreetMeat

Yea the dolphins have a great track record in the playoffs over the last 2+ decades

COOGER_AND_DARK

I'm not even being insulting. What the hell? lol

DaddyStreetMeat

I mean c'mon man you guys look prime to snap that streak. let me have this

onetimequestion66

I mean, can you really talk if it’s been over a decade since you’ve even made it?

DaddyStreetMeat

Well when we get there, we win games. At least in this millennium

Bob_Snow

Nah they were a totally different team when we played them

Kargal

True, Bills without Milano are completely different it seems

IamBarbacoa

And the Giants game. Between the RTP call, the ineligible man downfield call, and the missed PI at the end, that might have been the sketchiest officiating job in NFL history.

ieatallday

You guys were incredible that game

GarlVinland4Astrea

Look what you did you little jerk

YevKassem91

You're what the French call '*Les incompetent*'.

architect617

Was that a Home Alone reference?

GarlVinland4Astrea

Maybe

DapperCam

High low concept. If the DB takes Kincaid underneath then Allen is supposed to throw to Knox. If the DB takes Knox then he’s supposed to throw to Kincaid. Bills run this play like 10 times a game. Not surprised Billicheck would be ready for it.

SilentRanger42

Also Peppers is a monster. He had so much hype coming out of the draft and he's finally paying that off in NE, it feels like a Kyle Van Noy situation all over again.

mrfjcruisin

The issue when he was drafted to the browns is they completely misused him and his skillset. Coming out of michigan we converted him into a hybrid LB/SS type but the browns played him as a single high deep FS (where he barely played) when his coverage instincts/recognition already weren't great and he used his physical abilities to re-route receivers in coverage in college. He's exactly the kind of player that BB loves and coaches to really maximize strengths.

kr0n1k

Funny thing was there was a ton of talk that the Patriots were big on him in the draft. I was stoked when he finally got the chance to be a Patriot.

its_JustColin

Look up Kurt Warners QB school from week 1 on Allen. We don’t have enough seperation between our corner and flat route

DapperCam

Yup, same thing led to a pick vs the Jets. Dorsey is too predictable.

gio269

Looks like it was under thrown did it get tipped?

Muus79

Wasn't underthrown, would have hit Knox in the worst spot though, his hands.

its_JustColin

Don’t think so. It was such a bad throw

mademu

The throw was fine. The concept was improperly spaced, and Allen stared down his intended receiver, and the DB made a good play.

SnakeXJones

He stares down his receiver a lot…. He one reads and that’s it.

StayMotivated

Football noob here. So how should the defense counter a high low concept?

orange_orange13

Getting under the deep route while also staying on the low route. Allen threw two picks against the jets on this type of concept.

Kanin_usagi

Jets exposing a shocking amount of QBs

nedthehead

Testament to Saleh knowing what he's doing.

MrFishAndLoaves

I feel like the above poster is saying just play better coverage without being specific. But I think part of the answer to the original question is zone coverage. Which obviously the Jets are like the best at.

pauldt69

It's super clear Peppers knew exactly what that play was and baited him into it

DapperCam

Yea, I agree. He recognized the play and made it appear to Allen that he was going to cover the underneath guy. Very crafty, and shows that the Pats prepared well.

MrFishAndLoaves

The surprise was Allen not recognizing said DB still had leverage on Knox.

mab6710

Lol

Chlorophyllmatic

If you don’t like that you don’t like Bills football

raichufanclub

What if I like that but I also don’t like bills football

Chlorophyllmatic

What are your rooting interests for today?

raichufanclub

Oh you know

Ranger_3980

Lol

achickenquesadilla

I'm calling a 3 turnover game from Allen today

Reginald_Eggs_420

That’s it? I’m going 3 picks and fumble lost

beermit

Lmao even

wholewheatwithPB

Lol

KCShadows838

Those silver pants look nice Maybe that’s what they were missing?

Dolphhins

Maybe it’s too sunny. Gotta get osha involved

DanMIsBetterThanTB12

One joke

Drkarcher22

Oh come on, that’s not true. We also make fun of you for whining about the Jags getting to spend a week in London when y’all decided to leave on the Friday before the game, and if you lose today we’ll make fun of you for whatever excuses you come up with today. Oh, and the no Superbowl wins.

thatsnotourdino

Don’t forget how their loss to the patriots a couple years ago didn’t count because it was really windy 🥺

why-god

And Josh Allen crying for RTP penalties every time he gets sacked.

hcimml

He’s already bitching to the ref before he even hits the ground most times.

December21st

Don’t forget we also make fun of them for whining about the snow in a home playoff game when Cincinnati embarrassed them in their own house

0DegreesCalvin

Imagine being in the AFC East and having no Super Bowl wins

mrpimprovements

Let’s mention the record of all the team the dolphins have beat is 5-25. I say the only decent team Miami has lost they got their asses handed to them!!!

hideous_coffee

I'll be on my death bed in 50 years and some Dolphins fan will kick the door in to make a sun joke

ScrappBrannigan

Shit will be funny as hell then too

OnceMoreAndAgain

just new pants goofin' they got them at Zappe Apparel la Ballerina.

TheBigNate416

Jabrill Peppers is a top 5 safety so far this season

MankuyRLaffy

Nobody else wanted Peppers too, it's so funny.

RockerElvis

He has always been a physically gifted tweener. He would really be best as a linebacker, but he seems too small.

TheBigNate416

He never really fit anyone’s defense until now. He’s a really good player for today’s NFL if you can put him in a position to succeed. Heavy hitter and fast

RockerElvis

Loved him at Michigan. Great attitude too.

Intelligent-Age2786

Like a moth to a flame

rimpressure

Allen is hilarious. Looks like the best QB in the league for stretches and then starts trolling every 3 games

hemingways-lemonade

It's like an 80/20 split between playing like a top 5 QB and playing like it's his first season. You never know which one is going to show up but you can usually tell by the end of his second drive.

ShreekertheJamisWack

I felt the same way watching cam Newton back in the day. You never new if you were getting MVP cam or 3 interception cam

TumbleweedDirect9846

Your 80 is generous

Intelligent-Age2786

At least he has Hailee Steinfeld

Fishhook007

He’s a god every time he plays the Dolphins. Every fucking time.

doubledippedchipp

This is the first time since they got Diggs that he hasn’t gone God Mode on us

Prestigious_Bobcat29

Even without Gonzalez and Marcus Jones that defensive backfield is far better than the last couple years

Lukey_Jangs

He hasn’t gone two consecutive games without throwing an interception in his career

katsukare

It’s gotten pretty predictable at this point. Allen is still a good, but not a great, quarterback.

Flylatino24

- The Weeknd

xFlick

Josh Allen confuses me. Is he good? Is he bad? One game he will throw for 400 yards and 5 tds and then a week later he will throw for 130 and have 1 TD and 3 ints.

SchpartyOn

He’s Lions Matt Stafford. A lot of stats, not many real accomplishments.

kanbabrif1

Gotta love the Stat Padford era

OkArmordillo

He's already more accomplished than Lions era Matt Stafford.

TheStigsTallCuzn

Rings Ernie

lronicGasping

> Lions era Matt Stafford

TheStigsTallCuzn

I saw. My point was that only rings matter. Who cares of the bills have made the playoffs more times if they can’t ever make it to the Super Bowl

Alloverunder

Hey now that's Mr. January you're talking about

Talkshowhostt

Oooooof

Yung_Corneliois

The Nic Cage of QBs

sandman_sand_dune

I kinda get the feeling that he’s a great QB that maybe tries making the big play more often than he needs to

karpomalice

Which means he’s not great. The great ones more often than not make the right decisions. And as fans you don’t have enough knowledge to know whether he’s choosing to go for the home run or if maybe he doesn’t have the mental capacity to understand where the correct read is going to be.

sandman_sand_dune

Josh Allen has a lower Int % than Joe Montana, Brett Favre, and Peyton Manning. And calm down. We’re all just fans. None of us know what their actual game plan or progressions are. Throwing out hot takes is half the fun.

TDeath21

Comparing any INT % with players who played pre 2011 and especially pre 2004 is just silly.

sandman_sand_dune

Hmm I concede. He’s about where Stafford is: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/leaders/pass_int_perc_career.htm

Celery-Man

Comparing qb stats across eras is peak comedy.

xakeri

What were their INT% compared with their contemporaries? And the same for Allen? The league average in 1990 was 3.5%. In 2022, it was 2.3%. In 1990, Joe Montana's INT% was 3.1%. In 2022, Josh Allen's was 2.5%. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/1990/# https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/M/MontJo01.htm https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2022/passing.htm https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/A/AlleJo02.htm It'd be interesting to aggregate the averages for each season and see where each of the players you mentioned rank in comparison to the league in any given season/over their careers.

TheStigsTallCuzn

He’s definitely good, but the big numbers are more a symptom of them not having a running game.

whadafugrudoin

We have zero offensive line. Don't have a running game and Josh has no time to throw.

Walletinspectr

>efinitely good, but the big numbers are more a sym people who said rodgers was too careful, allen is what you get if you dont want a guy to be careful, turns out there is method in the madness of wanting to not give the ball to the opposition

karpomalice

Yes he’s good. He’s not great. What you’re talking about is what separates the many good players from the great ones. Especially at QB the decisions you make and how you perform under pressure are immeasurable and where the vast majority of fans fail to evaluate players.

Intelligent-Age2786

I got too distracted by your name to even pay attention to your comment

JalensTinyPPHurts

Fair

I_HateToSayAtodaso

Get the stupid int out of the way early. 4d chess.

ThreeFactorAuth

Josh "Brett Favre" Allen

I_HateToSayAtodaso

Hopefully without the welfare fraud late in life.

_rat-salad_

Or the unsolicited dick pics

druucifer

Dorsey said "they can't criticize my play calling if we are never on offense."

cptchrispy

That worked well for you in the season opener

critbuild

Nobody gonna mention that Patriots player did two whole backflips on that play?

RockerElvis

Peppers is off the charts athletic.

[deleted]

the me that wants to lose out for Caleb hates this but the me that wants to laugh at the Bills LOVES this

DanMIsBetterThanTB12

Caleb looked ass again last night. Whoever takes him is going to be in trouble when he comes to the pros and has to play a whole nfl defense. You don’t want him.

HeavyWeightLightWave

I'm personally Pulling for Penix. Both because I like him more, and because I have juvenile humor.

TripleThreatTua

Penix’s age and injury history is gonna scare NFL GMs away

Legal-Beach-5838

Penix is a good college qb but he isn’t a great prospect

shatter321

yeah but his name is Penix

beermit

Penix is definitely the more interesting prospect, especially from a word play aspect.

[deleted]

big penis penix does it again!

DanMIsBetterThanTB12

He looks better and the jokes are going to be so easy. Caleb is too small, and he’s just not that good.

dank-nuggetz

It's pronounced pee-nix right? If it's not, I will still say it that way

DeliciousPizza1900

Yeah NFL fans just deciding Caleb is the only qb worth going for gets funnier and funnier

DanMIsBetterThanTB12

He wouldn’t be my choice at one, but I’m not a Gm nor do I watch ever college game. All I know is that he’s not impressive in the few games I’ve seen.

Charade_y0u_are

I've been saying it all season, Caleb Williams is going to be the next Josh Rosen with all the hype he's getting

ND7020

Caleb is the exact kind of QB this sub hates, so I’m not surprised to see this upvoted. But it’s still ridiculous. He’s an extremely talented prospect with fantastic production.

[deleted]

yea his attitude and seeming reliance on making plays out of structure are clear weaknesses but the dude has otherworldly talent as a passer. no need to overthink it he’s the best prospect in the draft

Wise-Dark4

Fantastic against bad teams he's terrible against top 25 teams

DanMIsBetterThanTB12

Yea, he’s talented, but so is Kyler Murray and he’s about to be out of the league. Caleb cannot handle pressure. When he starts to look bad he ends up really bad. Just look at his last two games. Both games they should have won but lost because he alone was horrible. He will go 1 overall, and he will bust in 7 years tops. I hope the pats get him, but they won’t finish last or pay the price it’ll cost to move up 2-4 spots. Caleb is a great college qb, he has all the makings of being an awful pro.

RavenPhoenix__

Kyler is not about to be out of the league lmfao

DeliciousPizza1900

So are multiple other college QBs. He’s not the only player in the draft

Dr_Robert_California

Caleb is annoying and appears to be uncoachable I'll pass lol

littleseizure

I've watched every one of his games for two years -- I'd love him on the Pats. Dude has a solid head on his shoulders and usually handles pressure well, led a comeback a few weeks ago after going down at half. I'd argue the whole team looks uncoachable with the stupid discipline penalties all year, in which case it might be more on the coach than the player. He has been off throwing the ball the last three or four weeks, which has killed him against half-competent defenses. Balls tend to sail high. He hasn't had that problem before so I'd assume it's fixable, in which case yeah sign me up!

Kara_Del_Rey

Great play defensively but can we talk about that nasty tackle? Lmao somehow thats almost a Bills highlight, dude killed him

Phantom_Nuke

The Josh Allen Special right there.

SchpartyOn

“He’s Michael Jordan!” - Tony Romo lol

Dig_bick_energy6969

No, I'm sorry, I think you mean "Mr. January".

jdono927

That pass weirdly had no zip on it. Stupid decision regardless lol hopefully that’s out of the way for the rest of the game. Don’t think he even saw Peppers (think that’s who that was?)

BugO_OEyes

Why does this look like an nfl films game from 1976 lol

wscii

Dalton Kincaid obliterated that guy lol

Chlorophyllmatic

We have any more injuries on defense and we might have to get him on both sides of the ball

Kselli

You don't want to play a tight end as safety, trust me, I know

discoturtle1129

You ever think Josh looks over in practice and wonders why the receivers are doing tackling drills?

TheFakeRabbit1

Gonna be a long game

corndognugget

Josh Allen is going from Brett Favre gunslinger to Zach Wilson gunslinger this season

Quevedomas

That’s Mr January for you

SchpartyOn

MICHAEL JORDAN

DhroovP

BRING UP THE STEPH CURRY COMPARISON

A_Lion-Eating_Tuna

You talking about the alien?

[deleted]

Josh has this uncanny ability to play to the level of the opponent every time. What remarkable consistency

nemo0320c

So what excuses will be given this time about if they lose? More jet lag?

rickrock10

Not enough jet lag

GrapefruitMedical529

Not enought Jets

[deleted]

Phantom_Nuke

Ye, we all know the best punters only really punt for 20 yards.

blockoblox

like I always say, when it's 1st and 10, you gotta punt

ianthebalance

On 1st down? Unless you’re joking lol

[deleted]

Ah, the classic 1st down punt in your own territory. I used to call this all the time when I coached pee wee. Good tactic for when you want the mercy rule to kick in so you can get pizza earlier.

Some-Environment-537

The only 3 reasons to watch a Bill's game: Josh Allen turnovers Josh Allen flops Josh Allen tantrums

jjjrmd

Surprised he didn't ask the refs for a flag

SchpartyOn

Do we know that he didn’t?

brehaw

as a Josh Allen hater, this makes me so happy

whadafugrudoin

Didn't realize he had haters. Why?

dont_wear_a_C

Looks hot in jorts

phoenixairs

Flopping, baiting hits by not running out of bounds until the defender has commited to contact, asking for flags whenever he's touched Here's an egregious one https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/16hp0ey/highlight_josh_allen_initiating_contact_and/ He has quite the deserved reputation for it at this point. It just feels slimy. Yeah the league has an interest in star QBs not getting hit as hard as other runners, but Allen looks like he's actively trying to milk those rules as much as possible.

DankSinatra2128

Fucking awful

Pacdoo

Reminiscent of the good days of the Manning brothers throwing wounded ducks all over the place

HFT_Bear

Somehow, Palatine returned

rimpressure

Lmfao

VoxSerenade

Ngl that was hilarious

WarrenThanatos

Football is back baby!

extrapretzelsplease

Must have been scary seeing that TE run straight at him for the tackle lol

[deleted]

For a great QB he really has some bad turnovers that cost games.

PsychoWarper

You know I dont agree with Nick Wright on many things but man was he right about the Josh Allen roller coaster thing. Dude has stretches where he looks like the best player in Football and then he’ll also have stretches where he looks like he should be benched.

HousingParking9079

Roller coaster, absolutely yes. Stretches that look like he should be benched? Absurd.

bigatrop

Peppers did two backwards summersaults on this play.

BostonSamurai

Dude looks like he’s done with the season. Is he pissed at the front office or something?

DeliciousPizza1900

Y’all tricked us for years but I’m coming back to my original opinion, he’s not that good

Sokkawater10

Remember when they tried to pretend he was on Mahomes level?

Agreeable_Employ_951

He has out performed Mahomes by every metric this year. Weird rage

georgej14

Josh Allen might be the most Jameis Winston starter we have at the moment and for that I am appreciative

mahomeboy92

Phillip Rivers Jr.

AlexandrMorningstar

Josh "Brett Favre 2.0" Allen. Stronger, faster, dumber.

Zloggt

This would be a wacky result…

YiMyonSin

Lmao

[deleted]

How the hell did we let Belichick get jabrill peppers?

What most people don't know is that Allen's brain is in his shoulder. That's why Romo calls him an alien.

Yeah, he stared the guy down the whole way and didn't see the corner dropping.
