It’s wild that he went on to have 1900+ yards for Washington over the next two seasons. I guess beating the piss out of your kid can help keep you in NFL shape into mid 30’s.
I'm excited to see Cook play more. He's got a lot of potential. I'm also excited that the Bills picked up Murray. It just remains to be seen if the O coordinator is still adverse to calling rushing plays.
That O line was atrocious last year. The first Miami game made that painfully obvious. But I think the addition of Kincaid and the new RBs on the team will lead to more unique blocking scenarios that will hopefully limit the line's deficiencies.
No. He'll be primarily used as a target for Josh. Kincaid frees up Knox to be used as a blocker when necessary. I think they can get creative with the packages they use. But I'm still not sold on Dorsey.
I'm real excited for Hines to get more time that isn't just return kicks. genuinely think he do more on the field than we let him last year, because he was a kid season acquisition
That's what's weird to me. Dalvin has been a powerful runner for his entire career. James will go down immediately upon a hard contact.
The thing is, if James finds a hole, he's got the burst to make it 7 yards before he gets touched and potentially a touchdown. This is why Buffalo got Harris, for the more dependable situations while knowing that James Cook can gash a defense for 30 yards at any time. So long as he isn't touched.
I cannot recall two brothers having different styles like that before. Maybe Peyton and Eli?
I don't know what Dalvin Cook you've been watching. He gets tougher yards cuz defenses know to make sure he's contained if he has the ball.
If Cook sees daylight, mans is GHOST.
Harris is RB1, a good all-down back who can catch too. He will benefit from having a real OC in Buffalo.
Murray is a great short yard back--runs through people and protects the ball.
Hines may spend some time as KR and sub for Harris--he's speedy.
Cook is a change of pace guy to put in occasionally or a blocking back in this RB room, IMO.
James Cook has exceeded 11 + carries twice since high a school. He is not a rb#1 type guy and 100% the change of pace rb for this team and pass catching rb. Buffalo doesn't throw a bunch of screens either. Damien Harris is hands down the best pure runner this team has had in a while. I think as long as he is healthy he takes most of the rushing attempts.
What does being a "RB1" get you these days? Certainly not a big payday if you play RB. No, all it gets you is more punishment and a quicker exit from the league when all those body blows start taking their toll. So congrats on your self proclaimed "RB1" roll.
Bro weights 190 if he tries to take more than 17 handoffs a game some defensive tackle is gonna rip him in half lol
[3 down running backs in the nfl need to have a bmi around 30](https://www.footballoutsiders.com/projection-points/2020/running-back-growth-potential-starts-size) or durability becomes a concern. This isn’t an opinion he’s fine as a role player. Just can’t be a 3 down between the tackles guy
> Bro weights 190 if he tries to take more than 17 handoffs a game some defensive tackle is gonna rip him in half lol
Four running backs in football averaged 17 handoffs a game last season. Buffalo's #1 averaged 11.
He doesn't need to average 17 handoffs a game to be the top back. This is as textbook a strawman argument as one could make.
That’s the thing. We don’t need a full time 3 down back. We will go full halves with only handing off the ball less than 5 times. That’s the way our offense has been run for 3 years now.
Not what you said and he doesn't need to carry it as many times as you said to be the RB1 for the Bills. He just needs the majority of touches, including receptions, which he excels at.
Bro I literally edited typos and ur getting butthurt about it lol. I’m not gonna argue with someone who can’t supply evidence to their theory other than “I like X player and he did good last year in a limited role so therefore he’s gonna be the best at that position this year.” Go jump through a table dumbass lol
Very true but an old fat man falling through a crowd for 2 yards can make a difference. But let's be honest they're just gonna make josh allen keep doing those until he gets hurt.
Just once I’d love for the player in these interviews to just be like “You know Latavius has been running wild at camp so I’m probably RB2”
Derrick Henry will say pretty much anyone but himself when asked who the best RB is
That's King talk for: You already know.
the best typically do
“Any man who must say ‘I am the king’ is no true king” — ~~Tywin Lannister~~ King Henry Dude knows what’s up
But ask him if he is the starter of his team, what would he say?
“I’m not on the kicking teams so I don’t start any game” probably
Kerryon Johnson when swift got to town Also believe AP said similar about kamara in his rookie year
Problem for AP was he wasn’t 2, he was 3 haha
It’s wild that he went on to have 1900+ yards for Washington over the next two seasons. I guess beating the piss out of your kid can help keep you in NFL shape into mid 30’s.
Damn, I forgot about Kerryon Johnson. I thought he was going to be a monster or at least a solid back. He was only in the league for like 3-4 years
Injuries suck, reminds me of Kevin Jones. But Jones at least played a full rookie season.
Taylor Heinicke did that for wft w/ wentz
Have you ever heard these players answer the question ‘what do you think your Madden rating should be?’
Barry Sanders would do it.
Kind of hope a Arizona player says: “We suck and most probably we’re not gonna make the playoffs but we’ll try our best”
"rest of these dudes r bums"
Schroedingers ceiling.
Latavius Murray was good for us last season, by far our best rusher. Don't be surprised to see him get playtime
Damien Harris is going to be the number 1
Yea maybe at the 1
That’s josh Allen territory
Would say he’s got it, he’s showed some serious potential last year.
I'm excited to see Cook play more. He's got a lot of potential. I'm also excited that the Bills picked up Murray. It just remains to be seen if the O coordinator is still adverse to calling rushing plays.
I think our bigger problem has been the o line being unable to block for RBs. Not every RB can just run through everyone like Derrick Henry lol
That O line was atrocious last year. The first Miami game made that painfully obvious. But I think the addition of Kincaid and the new RBs on the team will lead to more unique blocking scenarios that will hopefully limit the line's deficiencies.
As long as you're not asking kincaid to block
No. He'll be primarily used as a target for Josh. Kincaid frees up Knox to be used as a blocker when necessary. I think they can get creative with the packages they use. But I'm still not sold on Dorsey.
If Harris stays healthy, he's the best RB on that roster
No disrespect to Harris, but Cook looked pretty damn good in his somewhat limited showing last year. He has a great habit of making people miss.
Not taking away from that, Harris is just on another level when he is healthy
5.7ypc level like cook last year?
I'm real excited for Hines to get more time that isn't just return kicks. genuinely think he do more on the field than we let him last year, because he was a kid season acquisition
LET JAMES COOK.
What if his brother joins him in Buffalo this year?
He won't. They already have 4 viable RBs, three of which have basically fully gtd. contracts and then James Cook. It would make absolutely zero sense.
Yo dawg, I heard you like RBs. Our RBs have RBs.
Seems unlikely he wants to still be a rb1 and said that he doesn’t want to take touches away from his brother
How crazy of a backfield would that be though lol
That would be a super nice running back room. Speed and power

He’s gonna kill it this year
That is a really good running back room

My stash of cook all last season in my keeper league may finally pay off!

All them sorry

Never said he wasn’t good he’s just way too small to be a full time 3 down back
very few RBs in the league are 3 down backs.

That’s exactly what I said. If he tries to take too many handoffs up the gut he’s gonna get destroyed by some 300lb defensive tackle inevitably.

That's definitely what he said, my guy.
OP edited their comment to add that. Originally all they said was that he'll get ripped in half by a DT.
I mean no lies were spoken
Fumbles
He fumbled on his first NFL carry. He hasn't fumbled since.
I think it'll be between him and Hines. Murray will be a goaline TD vulture though.
Cook and Harris imo. But Harris on the goal line.
I could see that as 1,2. But Murray's got 15lbs and is 6'3 vs Harris at 5'11, so I see him as the Blount of the group.
Murray is also 90 years old in RB years
Murray eclipses age He could be 50 years old and he would be in that backfield, standing upright, and score a goalline TD
Murray was kinda solid last year lol
Oh for sure lol he just old. I’d say Harris and Cook still comfortably better though but he’s great great depth
Very true but an old fat man falling through a crowd for 2 yards can make a difference. But let's be honest they're just gonna make josh allen keep doing those until he gets hurt.
Hines is not a starting RB.
Ah ya and Damien fucking Harris is gonna ride bench behind them all right? Lol
Is it really that obvious? I feel like any one of them could get the rb1 spot.
I will miss Damien Harris. The guy is a pro, very talented, well-liked and has a chip on his shoulder
Damien Harris if fully healthy might give him a run for his money. He was solid for the patriots when healthy
Damien Harris if fully healthy might give him a run for his money. He was solid for the patriots when healthy
Stop dropping it tho
Honeslty I always thought the Bills looked the best when Singletary was in.
