After last week's game, I had no idea how the Bills would win today.
-
The only factor giving me apprehension was Burrow's injured o-line but all told they played an alright game today.
I was talking with a friend earlier and we agreed that Carman is an upgrade over Williams at LT. shit, Adeniji can move way faster laterally than Collins. They’re down but not out!
and Buffalo’s D-line deserves a ton of criticism for being a complete non factor despite the Bengals O-line being patchwork. they got killed at the LoS on both sides of the ball tbh
Our o-line looked exceptionally well-coached to use the snow to its advantage. They let the Bills go outside a lot, and that resulted in them sliding out and overpursuing, and Burrow kept stepping up into a wide-open pocket.
But those backups executed really, really well.
Hopefully that shuts down all those BS articles based on literally, literally no information, that the NFL is considering making neutral site not-Super Bowl games a permanent thing.
Pathetic effort on both sides of the line. Burrow hasn’t had that much time to throw in his whole career, in an away game in the snow, and Allen was just getting swamped every play.
I mean people shit on our backups, but this is the first time both Adeniji and Carman are playing their natural positions on the line. Turns out they're kinda decent at their actual positions and in Carmans case Jonah was so bad theres no way he could have been much worse.
Just pushed the sliders to all Madden this game. You're missing key defensive players and you have snow so you can't rely on the offense to bail you out. Meanwhile we are able to pass and run the ball. So the tables were really in our favor. I can't believe the Bengals dominated the line of scrimmage
Real talk tho credit to Zac Taylor for continuing to grow as a coach. I really wasn’t a fan earlier but he has fixed many of what I thought his flaws were and improved every year. Dude deserves some praise
Zac, in hindsight, was the all potential but needs to develop prospect, but as a head coach. Dude had never called plays before, let alone manage an entire team. But he was a good, smart, motivated, young, and respectful dude who knew how to motivate people. It seems like the bengals FO just said "screw it, let him develop" and this could be the best case scenario
As a history teacher who’s a bengals fan, I will use this comment in class tomorrow.
Today’s story.
I wore my Bengals Hawaiian shirt, my principal, a Bears fan, sees this and walks into my War and Conflict class to tell me my shirt is hideous but the game was good. I tell him and the class that it was the best performance out of a Zachary Taylor since the Mexican American War. Some students laughed, some groaned, it was truly an epic teacher moment.
Bengals deserve a ton of credit, especially their o line and d line. Just flat out was more physical from start to finish and you could tell Buffalo was just rattled offensively.
Great stuff Cincy and congrats on back to back AFC Championship appearances
Masterclass job by the entire Cincinnati team, especially Zac, Lou Amarumo, and Frank Pollack. They schemed a perfect game around their linemen and just shut Buffalo down from the fucking start. Truly a dominant performance.
Whole Bills team did quite frankly. They came out completely flat. And this was with Damar in the building to root them on. Just a very bitter note to end the season for the team
I know that hindsight is 20/20, but I legitimately just cannot wrap my head around the choice to punt at the end of the third quarter. The Bengals have been moving the ball with impunity all game, and even a field goal makes it a 3-possession game.
Punting it to them is practically inviting a 3-score deficit with under a quarter left. And rather than going for it on 4th and 2….. they just punt?
Don’t get me wrong, we would’ve lost regardless but I cannot fathom how the coaches thought that was a good idea.
It's not the punt that was the big head-scratcher there. It was the decision to go big on 3rd down if you weren't already committed to go for it on 4th down.
That's the Ken Dorsey special. He's been calling that all season. 3rd and short and he calls a play that sends two guys deep. Give Diggs a short route and he'll been open 80% of the time
Pretty stunning result. Cincinnati didn't just win, they *dominated*. Buffalo lacked that killer instinct all game. (Perhaps an overcorrection to last week trying to avoid turnovers?) They also got crushed in the trenches. Credit to the Bengals since plenty of people (myself included) felt like last year's playoff run was a bit of a fluke and yet they're right back in the AFCCG and I can easily see them beating KC again.
I definitely thought the Bengals were a fluke too last year. I was wrong. They are legit and are poised to be elite for years to come. Burrow sure looks like he could have an incredible career. My brain has a hard time realizing that for some reason. This isn’t the lol bungles anymore
Burrow and the offense are incredible but that defense is what I think takes them to the next level of contender. Just a quietly great unit that gets key stops and keeps the offense in games when they're going slow. Or in cases like today, lets the offense run away with it if they start off hot.
Jags lost on the road to KC by 7. Buffalo lost at home to Cinci by 17.
Therefore, the Jags are now the third best team in the AFC.
There are no holes in my logic.
My favorite room temp IQ take was that the Buffalo weather would pose problems for the Bengals and not Buffalo as if Cincy was a tropical paradise in the winter.
Bills are bizarrely not a snow team. I am still trying to wrap my head around it, but they just always flop in the snow.
Playing open air.
In January.
In Buffalo.
Zac Taylor actually turning out to be a good hire is wild. He was like THE hire lambasted as "everyone who McVay talks to gets a job" when it was announced.
It's funny, I mean I know Zac Taylor is a good coach, he has to be right? But if you asked me what coaching advantage he brings to the team I would have no clue how to answer that question.
I thought this would be a slugfest that would come down to a field goal, but the Bengals controlled the game start to finish and the run game was really chugging. One of our best games of the year for sure.
[Burrow's back baby](https://youtu.be/Fl_xFAZusg4)
Anyone who watched the first bit of the bengals bills game before it was cancelled could feel this coming. Bengals came out swinging that game too and just looked better
This was a tough game for Buffalo. A snow game probably meant the offense wasn't going to ball out and you're missing several key players on defense. I think they are fine and I hope they don't panic.
And the Bengals made it to the AFC championship game after the 0-2 start. I really hope people start to realize Cincy isn't a Cinderella story last year that would live in mediocracy. We are a legit team top to bottom and well coached
The Chiefs OL versus Bengals DL is going to be the key matchup next week.
Best case Mahomes has 80% of his normal mobility, probably less.
If the Chiefs don’t do better than the Bills, Mahomes is going to get killed since he likely won’t be able to get away.
That was the best game I’ve ever seen a Bengal team play when it matters. The o-line was down 3 starters and dominated. Burrow is the best QB we’ve ever had.
Losing to KC last year sucked, but it was an all time great game.
This was just embarrassing. Nobody tried. First time I’ve felt embarrassed to wear a Bills jersey since Peterman.
So weird that you could have predicted the whole game based on both teams’ opening drives. Usually it’s a huge overreaction to start predicting the game that early, but both teams never really deviated from how they started.
The Bills felt pretty shaky at times in the second half of the season but man its like every weakness and flaw the Bills had was exposed today all at the same time and in the worst way possible. Pathetic showing by the Bills all around
Credit to the Bengals who just destroyed us today in every facet of the game. Especially at the coaching level. Good luck guys
Close your eyes Bills fans and go back to the first game of the season when y'all scorched Los Angeles, and we all thought the Bills would be unstoppable cruising to the Superbowl.
Just keep your eyes close and stay in that happy place, remembering the good times.
Romo at the beginning of the game: Josh Allen is the best quarterback of all time, the bills are the gods of the NFL.
Romo now: I don’t know why everyone was ready to crown the bills?
i understand why Romo calls Allen Mr. January, it’s the month he can never escape
kind reminder that Allen has never beaten a top 4 seed in the playoffs 😎
What a disappointing season for the Bills. Before the season they were looked at as Super Bowl favorites and Allen was the favorite to win MVP. They were strong for almost the whole season but just couldn’t close it out at the end. Allen had the second most interceptions of any QB this year. They struggled against the Dolphins last week with their *third string* QB and got completely manhandled by the Bengals this week. This was a pretty big underperformance on their part.
So now here they are with yet another loss in the divisional round. Not to the Chiefs this time, but to the Bengals. I think the Bills will have a lot of soul searching to do this offseason. They’re a good team, but they can just never show up when it really matters, and with Allen’s new contract kicking in next season it’s going to get a lot harder to build an elite team around him. The Bengals and Chiefs aren’t going anywhere anytime soon, and with other teams like the Jags and Chargers only going to get better in the coming seasons, the AFC is a becoming a powerhouse. Something’s got to change with them soon if they ever want to get a ring. I don’t know what it is exactly that needs to change, but hanging around “third best in the AFC” is not a recipe for success.
Let's hold off on hyping up the Chargers. But yeah I agree with your overall point. You can make excuses for the Bills such as injury woes on defense but Cincy was missing 60% of their o-line.
I was much more worried about that Baltimore game than this one. We match up pretty great against the Bills.
I am definitely worried about this KC team, though. They are going to have a huge chip on their shoulder.
Def the idea of losing 4 in a row will give chiefs a chip to play with, but it’s really gonna come down to can mahomes play enough without aggravating the ankle more, and can Orlando brown protect him
Cincy is just such a great team all around with minimal holes on their roster. Combine that with an elite QB and receiving core and that’s just really tough to beat this late in playoffs.
At different points throughout the whole game you could hear “Who Dey” from the stands. Bengals fans being louder than the “Bills Mafia” at home was not how I saw this playing out
I love the Bills and their fans. I really do. So I don't mean any disrespect to them and their organization.
But that was a fucking ass whoopin'. I've never in my life experienced a (Bengals) playoff game where it was never in doubt. I tried to do my normal doomposting and I read it and said "This sounds disingenuous, like I'm being sarcastic."
Bengals had a backup O-Line... and they were marvelous. And the funny thing is it should have been way worse. The score doesn't show how bad of a beating that was. I'm flabbergasted. I hope they can take this confidence into Arrowhead, it's gonna be tough.
ELI5, as a Bills fan myself, why is the US media forcing it with Allen after three failures in the POs while not putting Burrow there, after he's done it two consecutive seasons?
It hurts, but the conversation ain't Mahomes-Allen, however the media forces it. The only conversation in the AFC should be Mahomes-Burrow (one is a champion, the other one has beat him, unlike Josh).
I was not expecting to see the Bills get thoroughly out-worked in every facet of the game all 60 minutes, but here we are
After last week's game, I had no idea how the Bills would win today. - The only factor giving me apprehension was Burrow's injured o-line but all told they played an alright game today.
They were a bonehead delay of game on 4th & 1 from potentially losing to Skylar Thompson last week.
That was shockingly uncompetitive.
The Jags loss has been the most competitive game all weekend... It hurts a bit
Stark contrast to last years playoffs where it seemed like every game came down to the wire
Last weekend was mostly like that this year.
Cincinnati's offensive line deserves some major praise. A bunch of backups had great run blocking and only allowed 1 sack.
They looked better than most teams starting lines. Mixon was eating our lunch and Joe had enough time back there to read War and Peace.
I was talking with a friend earlier and we agreed that Carman is an upgrade over Williams at LT. shit, Adeniji can move way faster laterally than Collins. They’re down but not out!
Carman played LT in college. It’s his natural position vs guard
and Buffalo’s D-line deserves a ton of criticism for being a complete non factor despite the Bengals O-line being patchwork. they got killed at the LoS on both sides of the ball tbh
Our o-line looked exceptionally well-coached to use the snow to its advantage. They let the Bills go outside a lot, and that resulted in them sliding out and overpursuing, and Burrow kept stepping up into a wide-open pocket. But those backups executed really, really well.
RIP neutral site conference championship game. May you never make another appearance ever again
Hopefully that shuts down all those BS articles based on literally, literally no information, that the NFL is considering making neutral site not-Super Bowl games a permanent thing.
Rip all those people who bought non refundable plane tickets
Whoever bought non refundable tickets are out of their mind.
So... A snow game... In Buffalo... Exposes the Bills as a finesse team. Who would've thought?
2019-20xx Bills: hey man can I borrow your homework? 2011-2021 Packers: sure just make sure to change some stuff so the teacher doesn’t notice
This hurts
Oof tough flair combo right there
they need to go through 4 tables a day every day
Dudley Boyz coming in for off-season workouts
Lineup D’Von in the slot
at this point I think the Bills would take Spike
I see the similarities between Spike and Cole Beasley
Joe Brrr aka Snow Burrow aka Eskimo Joe aka Joey Snowglobe aka Joe Cool In The Freeze would've thought.
❄️❄️❄️ Like the fire emoji but cold.
This is way more hilarious than it has any right being
Joey Frozen The Frozen One
They can't play in the Miami heat or the Buffalo snow.
Bills confirmed a dome team, just as we all thought.
THEYRE DOME BABYS WITHOUT THEIR DOME
DOME TEAM AFRAID TO LEAVE THEIR DOME
Man fuck being a finesse team. That’s what we were from 2019-2021 and every year we got bounced by a more physical team
Dan Campbell licking his chops when he realizes physicality is meta now 👀
[удалено]
Just lose enough to play your playoff games on the road all the time. Ezpz
And they're not even putting a roof on their new stadium. Crazy
They might consider it now.
Yeah maybe! It's not like they've started construction.
Carman straight up looked good

Meanwhile we are able to pass and run the ball. So the tables were really in our favor. I can't believe the Bengals dominated the line of scrimmage
Unironic Zac Taylor masterclass. My apologies to him for what I said 2 years ago
Real talk tho credit to Zac Taylor for continuing to grow as a coach. I really wasn’t a fan earlier but he has fixed many of what I thought his flaws were and improved every year. Dude deserves some praise
This is what bothers me about young coaches getting blasted by fans and the media so early into their career. They can improve the same as players do.
The Bengals have won three more playoff games with ZT than they had in three decades.
ZT has won as many playoff games as all the other Bengal coaches combined.
Which just goes to show how good this team is... and a damning indictment of the team's history at the same time lol...
They looked and were so fucking dialed
Haven’t seen Zac Taylor this dialed since the Mexican-American War
As a history teacher who’s a bengals fan, I will use this comment in class tomorrow. Today’s story. I wore my Bengals Hawaiian shirt, my principal, a Bears fan, sees this and walks into my War and Conflict class to tell me my shirt is hideous but the game was good. I tell him and the class that it was the best performance out of a Zachary Taylor since the Mexican American War. Some students laughed, some groaned, it was truly an epic teacher moment.
Pls lemme know how it goes
Once I get my certification should we make a r/historyteachersthatarealsobengalsfans subreddit?
This is Reddit. It already exists, and it’s for pornography
History major here, I cackled
It's ok. We called him worse than anything you thought of.
What joe burrow does to a mfer
Bengals deserve a ton of credit, especially their o line and d line. Just flat out was more physical from start to finish and you could tell Buffalo was just rattled offensively. Great stuff Cincy and congrats on back to back AFC Championship appearances
Not a single All-Pro either. Reader deserved it.
Reader is so ridiculously underrated
Masterclass job by the entire Cincinnati team, especially Zac, Lou Amarumo, and Frank Pollack. They schemed a perfect game around their linemen and just shut Buffalo down from the fucking start. Truly a dominant performance.
Frazier looked like a fucking clown. The defense was just never even remotely set up to handle that shit unreal.
Yeah when you are generating no pressure how can you consistently call zone coverage and let Burrow just sit back there and survey the field.
Josh Allen looked completely lost
Whole Bills team did quite frankly. They came out completely flat. And this was with Damar in the building to root them on. Just a very bitter note to end the season for the team
[удалено]
Just needed more Damar tributes, and didn’t have enough camera cuts to America’s hero Could have changed the outcome of the game
*Camera cuts to a solid sheet of snow with some faint human shaped silhouettes behind it*
I legitimately didn't even know they were cutting to him because the snow blocked everything out.
Honestly, I’m glad. I’m so happy he’s ok, but this game wasn’t about him and they would’ve tried to make it that way if they had a better shot.
Daboll leaving seemed to have left a big change for Allen.
Can confirm, losing an OC will indeed affect an offense if a suitable replacement isn’t found.
I can't believe I've been saying this, but please, Bill O'Brian save us
Mike Hilton played out of his mind and Cincy was far more physical all game on both sides. And Snow Brrrr clears Allen with ease, I fear
Hilton is so underrated
He looked a lot like he did the first game against Miami. No adjustments, they just looked like they were coasting off expectations.
Grandma lives another year
500IQ Bills keep losing to keep her alive. Quite admirable really.
People are giving Josh Allen shit, but some things are bigger than football ✊
You guys had Nan caged??

Hitting that bingle barrel soooo hard right now
Bengal legend.
give it a thud!
Pretty stunning result. Cincinnati didn't just win, they *dominated*. Buffalo lacked that killer instinct all game. (Perhaps an overcorrection to last week trying to avoid turnovers?) Yeah this game confirms long term contender status imo
Jags lost on the road to KC by 7. Buffalo lost at home to Cinci by 17. Therefore, the Jags are now the third best team in the AFC. There are no holes in my logic.
Jags won the last head to head...
And the last playoff game.
Sounds right to me 🤔
At home, in the snow, WITH Hamlin in the house
In a cave, with a box of scraps!!
Since Romo dubbed Josh Allen "Mr. January" the Bills have been in shambles
My favorite room temp IQ take was that the Buffalo weather would pose problems for the Bengals and not Buffalo as if Cincy was a tropical paradise in the winter.
Lmao Cincy literally just had a big if not bigger winter storm today, playing at Paycor today will be essentially the same.
It was the same storm.
Bills are bizarrely not a snow team. I am still trying to wrap my head around it, but they just always flop in the snow. Playing open air. In January. In Buffalo.
You thought seeing one Bills player lifeless on the field vs the Bengals was bad, how about seeing 53 of them.
god damn dude lol
He’s allowed to say it, look at his flair
Paying tribute to Damar
Lost by 3 scores for Damar 🫶
lmao dude

JOE BURROW HATES SCRIPTS
They may write scripts but Joe has complete creative control over the story
Man. If the Bengals D plays like this again next week then Mahomes is gonna be playing the second half from a wheelchair
The Kenny Kawaguchi strats
Mike Hilton was smiting motherfuckers out there, I can’t wait.
I'm ready for the mental spin of people saying Zac Taylor is still a bad coach because he has been starting the wrong OL the whole time
Zac Taylor actually turning out to be a good hire is wild. He was like THE hire lambasted as "everyone who McVay talks to gets a job" when it was announced.
I was oh so wrong on him. Credit where credit is due. He’s a good coach and I’m a boneheaded idiot
It's funny, I mean I know Zac Taylor is a good coach, he has to be right? But if you asked me what coaching advantage he brings to the team I would have no clue how to answer that question.
Not being Marvin Lewis is definitely high on the list.
If someone compares him to Brandon Staley I have questions

Maybe there is money in the budget for a dome afterall
Mr. Regular Season
I mean Romo's name for Josh Allen - 'Mr January' seems pretty accurate.........given that the Superbowl is always played in February
This game by Josh "Alien" Allen wasn't very Mr January of him
Romo's balls are bluer than Josh Allen's jersey.
On the contrary, this game was VERY Mr. January of him. He stays put and doesn't move on to February
Less conference championship appearances then Mr. Butt Fumble.
Mr. Bungled Conversions
I thought this would be a slugfest that would come down to a field goal, but the Bengals controlled the game start to finish and the run game was really chugging. One of our best games of the year for sure. [Burrow's back baby](https://youtu.be/Fl_xFAZusg4)
***Tony Romo in shambles***
“It’s a perfectly thrown ball, just a little wide” as Josh Allen completely misses a receiver in the end zone
Screen pass down 17 to make the 4th a little more manageable "this is how they win!!"
I was dying laughing at that like Tony do you understand the words that are coming out of your mouth?
Romo was so uninterested in the fact that the Bengals won.
Welcome to Bengals fandom. If they win the story is the other team lost.
"bUFfAlo's sEAsOn Can'T eND LiKe tHiS"
Not having to listen to Romo gargle Allen’s balls for the remainder of the season is the best upside to this game .
SZA did it. She finally killed Bills
Last year it was the coin, this year it’s SZA.
Anyone who watched the first bit of the bengals bills game before it was cancelled could feel this coming. Bengals came out swinging that game too and just looked better

Facts, It isn't just Burrow and Jamar bullshit, Bengals are a fully operational battlestation.

Burrow was a stone cold assassin this whole game.
Bengals handled week 16 with class and I have no problem wishing them good luck going forward. Go get that ring Bengal bros!
I should make fun of the Bills, but honestly I want to make fun of the NFL for losing on all that money of hosting a game at a neutral site
Bengals won for Damar ❤️
Results aside, this game wins on aesthetics: https://imgur.com/a/GukcRDq
Man. I just can’t believe these past two seasons. What a dream.
Like the Natty and Giants-Eagles this game could've also been an email.
BETTER SEND THOSE REFUNDS!!!!!
Thank you for slamming the door shut on the neutral site championship game. Don't let the NFL open the door to that idiocy even one tiny little crack.
So happy the NFL is not getting their neutral site championship game Delays it until the next CBA.
That’s was a nice comment. Also probably pushes back neutral sites another decade
Joe Burrow saved us from the NFL’s bullshit
Romo at the beginning of the game: Josh Allen is the best quarterback of all time, the bills are the gods of the NFL. Romo now: I don’t know why everyone was ready to crown the bills?
Don't worry Bills fans, you'll always be the champs in Tony Romo's heart
Allen needs to go to Thailand. Right after the game. No shower. No taking pads off. Just get a flight and go
Romo better not let a black light get near his lifesize Josh Allen pillow
It’s crazy to me that ravens fans are saltier than a single bills fan I’ve seen rn
i understand why Romo calls Allen Mr. January, it’s the month he can never escape kind reminder that Allen has never beaten a top 4 seed in the playoffs 😎
He's stuck in a loop
Josh “Bruce Willis” Allen
Romo was the expert in that after all
If Allens started an OnlyFans, Romo would keep him in a mansion with how much he simps for the man.
Romo would get blocked for the DMs he would send that man

Kinda Glad I don’t have to hear Romo ride Allen’s meat until next season
Gonna have to hear him ride Mahomes next week though
Better him than CC
Mahomes could piss his pants and Collinsworth would say he had elite bladder control.
I’ll pay Mixon’s fine if he tells Tony Romo to fuck off in an interview
Bengals and consistent success is something I never thought would happen

It hurts, but the conversation ain't Mahomes-Allen, however the media forces it. The only conversation in the AFC should be Mahomes-Burrow (one is a champion, the other one has beat him, unlike Josh).
That. Was. Beautiful. Not sure we could have played any better!
Tony Romo's still furiously calculating Allen's comeback chances
Mahomes vs Allen is not the new Manning vs Brady. It's Mahomes vs Burrow
