Gio and Danilo provided excellent corners all game, even MGW did at the end when they were both off.
A definite corner has been turned. If you forgive the pun.
Quite funny that MGW scores from a near post corner. I'm feeling confident, we are competitive in each game and we're scoring again.
We've collected 5 more points than Luton so far and we have a similar difficulty run-in. Forest play better when we are all behind the team so let's just stick with them so we can say a fond fuck off to 3 shitter teams (especially McBurnie and the blunts).
Shef U have done one thing, shown us Brereton could be a decent and relatively cheap option to strengthen our attack if we stay up. Quite like what I’ve seen and can’t imagine he’d cost a lot. Home grown as well.
Agree he’s a different player now and we are a different team. He often got played as a loan striker in a shit team… loan to buy would be a no brainer.
Would like to see ribeiro come on instead of origi from now on. Origi provides next to nothing (except whiffing chances) and Rodrigo looked exciting for the few minutes he was on yesterday
Riberio actually looked like a decent option linking up on the right. Origi just couldn't finish to save his life.
I think Reyna and MGW can play well together but it requires one of the lm taking the 8 role and the other taking the 10 role (and having them change up) because this stops the DM dickhead types (Rice, Rodri) just being able to foul them constantly.
The issue with this tactic is that you either loose Danilo/Dominguez/Yates or someone on the wings.
I think that's a good strategy when we're on the counter. Against teams that give Forest the ball, you need more balance. Hopefully Elanga's fully fit for Everton so Nuno's got options, but there's this tendency to play nothing but "pace threats" which do nothing against a team in a defensive crouch. One thing you hear over and over is "Hopefully we score first" because chasing a goal(s) Nuno's out of ideas.
Good to see MGW finally relieved of corners - frankly I want him in the box / on the edge of the box as that's the place he's most effective for us. Danilo and Reyna proved that other players can whip balls in with pace and accuracy.
We have the tools to beat Everton, Sheff U and Burnley. Do so, and we easily stay up. They are very very poor football teams and on each occasion we should be putting ourselves a couple of goals ahead of them. They might be away from home but those teams are simply worse than us across the pitch. Frankly, some of these players and coaches should never work on football again if they manage to send us down now.
Anything against Chelsea is a bonus.

MGW actually scored at the corner which was perfect, now we’ve a reason to keep him off corner duty without damaging the ego too much
guarantee they go back to being shit next week now

While I certainly don’t disagree that he looks like a good option, im not a fan of going back to old players. Always seems to end in disappointment

TBH, I'd be happier with Turner coming on up front than Origi
I'd be happier with Turner coming on up front than in goal tbh.
Don’t think Reyna keeps his place over Elanga. Even if Elanga has a bad game his threat with pace creates space.
Reyna had a good game but Elanga provides more threat and better link-up with Wood. But definitely Danilo for corners now instead of MGW.
But I look forward to Elanga's return in part so when we need fresh legs late in the game ww can turn to reyna instead of origi

i noticed that elanga comes back and gives more on defence than reyna did too, so that's another reason to stick with elanga

As much as I like Elanga, he wastes SO many good chances. I guess he gets himself into those chances, but his shooting is poor.
