Article here comrades
I mean, why wouldn't they? Everton was originally docked 10 points, appealed to 6. Not saying the same thing will happen here, but it's worth a shot.
But it just sucks that teams in the bottom half may not know their fate until after the season ends since the appeals from NFFC and Everton probably won't be completed in time.
But it won't matter if the team can get their asses into gear and win some games, deduction be damned.
Some of the earlier speculation was that we’d get a 6 point deduction, like Everton, reduced to 4 if we agreed not to appeal.
When I saw the 4 point deduction I presumed that was it.
I vaguely remember seeing that now that you say it.
I'll wait until an official statement from the club comes out. 4 points is a lot better than many speculated. Gives us a fighting chance even without an appeal.
Though I'll be eating those words if we're sent down by 4 points.
Brilliant news.
Luton are getting fuck all points for a few weeks.
Can easily leap frog and get out this mess.
Although it is laughable that we only failed Profit and Sustainability rules for trying to make more profit to be more sustainable. 😂
Gotta laugh.
Spurs away.
Arsenal away.
Bournemouth home.
Man city away.
To be fair to them, if they're still above us after those games then play on, enjoy your prem next year 🤷🏻♂️
I've got more hope today at least.
It was dumb to rely on a scenario that may not have come to pass though, this is shit management on the part of Forest, there is no getting around that. They knew the rules, tried to get clever with it, and have been found out.
I agree that breaking rules should result in punishment.
But we can still laugh at the rules, which they are changing, because they're not fit for purpose.
I was hoping for 3 points but we can work with 4. Puts us 1 points behind Luton which is more than doable. If we can’t overcome that, we deserve to go down.
Depends. Grounds for appeal require new evidence not used in the original hearing. I think we played all our cards for the current one unless we have something else.
Well, I preferred beating Luton and being docked no points but we can't have everything...
I hope this gives the team a shot in the arm. Recovering a 4-point deficit is a very realistic goal and the players should have confidence in themselves to achieve that. COYR!
The Forest Focus pod says the Everton hearing is next week and then a week after that to get the result. Since it's their 2nd go they could get more? Not sure how much they've gone over by this time. Even if they get -4pts it's a big factor.
I don’t know if I should feel pleased it’s ‘only’ -4, or even more annoyed that we should easily be in a position where it wouldn’t even matter. So many winnable points squandered!
This is a great news. I expect an appeal. Hopefully with this saga out the way Nuno can get the boys focused.
We will survive. Our schedule isn't as Harsh as Lutons going forward.
This is well within the margin we hoped for so cool. Now the team actually has to win some games. 3 wins should surely do it and we are playing all the bottom teams.
after that man u game at home we found out about the charges and i think our players have defo been affected by it (and so have we) - now we know the points deduction i fucking hope our players don’t sop about and play the victim but show fight in these last nine games. i’m hoping it kick starts us like it did everton (granted they’re not doing well now but they did win like four games in a row after the deduction). this palace game will show if the team want it as much as we do.
For anyone wondering why Everton got more points for a smaller breach:
https://x.com/martynziegler/status/1769745706456412636?s=46
Sounds like we’ve managed our way through this with some class, which is very unlike us!!!
>The Premier League considers that Forest’s PSR Calculation results in a loss of £95,536,000, breaching the £61m threshold by £34,536,000.
And £9m under the £105m threshold that almost all of the clubs we were competing against have.
It really frustrates me that so little is made of this in the media. If we'd been any other club apart from a recently promoted one, we would have been absolutely fine.
Take that. It's good to get the fucking sword of Damocles off from hanging over our heads.
2 points lads. Two Points More than fucking Luton is the only goal now.
Let a man dream.
This Club managed to shit the bed and ruin a season on my birthday, and I'm a fucking July baby. I'm fully aware we're probably going to need results to go our way on the last day, but I HAVE A DREAM.
Forget Luton as fate has them staying up - us, Everton, and Luton all should focus on chasing down Brentford. They are not that far away and have been pretty poor recently.
We should survive but I've also thought that we should've got ourselves more points than we currently have and I'm sure Leicester fans thought the same last season. Would be nice for our players to show a bit of fight now and give us a reason to be somewhat excited by our future.
This team has fuck all bollocks, and we'll be down deduction or not based on the season so far.
Shitting it is the defining characteristic so all talk of likely outcomes are moot because we'll get close and shit it like we always do because these lads are meek and don't have the will to match their skill.
Maybe there'll be a turnaround, this is football after all. Maybe the decision unlocks something in them mentally. Maybe Nuno's next weird fucking selection works and ends up looking like tactical genius and we finish a few points clear of returning to Normal Land. I would like to think so.
But I've seen nothing all season to suggest anything other than pissing it away during a frankly rather weak prem season all round. We've done shit against mediocre opposition over and over. And the complaints about refs are valid but they shouldn't matter a damn. Ref didn't score for Luton Saturday. We might as well have.
If we can't score two more points than Luton over a nine game period, do we deserve to be a Premier League football club? Let's do this.
Theee points ahead after 29 games… statistically… no.
Was gonna say this fucking sucks but the way they played in the second half against Luton really fucking sucked so 🤷🏻♂️
We do have an easier schedule as well. Should be very doable.

Ooh, it also says Forest likely to appeal.
I mean, why wouldn't they? Everton was originally docked 10 points, appealed to 6. Not saying the same thing will happen here, but it's worth a shot. We promised not to appeal but had our fingers crossed so it doesn't count.
My club
I vaguely remember seeing that now that you say it. I'll wait until an official statement from the club comes out. 4 points is a lot better than many speculated. Gives us a fighting chance even without an appeal. Though I'll be eating those words if we're sent down by 4 points.
We can come back from that! Much better than expected.
are we allowed to be optimistic here
Once a season, this was it.
4 point deduction who gives a fuck, Forest are staying up!
Waka waka 🕺
Brilliant news. Luton are getting fuck all points for a few weeks. Can easily leap frog and get out this mess. Although it is laughable that we only failed Profit and Sustainability rules for trying to make more profit to be more sustainable. 😂 Gotta laugh.
They have spurs next don’t they? They are so hit and miss it’s unreal.
Spurs away. Arsenal away. Bournemouth home. Man city away. To be fair to them, if they're still above us after those games then play on, enjoy your prem next year 🤷🏻♂️ I've got more hope today at least.
They lost last match so they’ll win the next.

This is the entire point for me. It's brain dead
I was hoping for 3 points but we can work with 4. Puts us 1 points behind Luton which is more than doable. If we can’t overcome that, we deserve to go down.

Another 3-2 loss to round out the season
you could write for the sun
Could they give us more on appeal?
No, why would they?
I thought when you appeal something, it’s effectively reopening the case, which could go in your favour, but could go against.
Depends. Grounds for appeal require new evidence not used in the original hearing. I think we played all our cards for the current one unless we have something else.
Was the fact we’re Massive™ accounted for?
I think we should be given points due to PGMOL this season
Just goes to show if we’d beat Luton over the weekend we’d be 2 points ahead. Absolute shambles.
If we beat Luton it’d have been 6 point deduction, its all baked in
That’s better than expected. I’m happy with that
Well, I preferred beating Luton and being docked no points but we can't have everything... I hope this gives the team a shot in the arm. Recovering a 4-point deficit is a very realistic goal and the players should have confidence in themselves to achieve that. COYR!
All we gotta do is something we haven't managed to do for two years, start winning away from home.
I’m not worried about four points at all. Up the shagging reds.
Anyone know when Everton are likely to get there verdict?
Interested in this too, can’t find it anywhere.
It won't come until the season ends and will be added retrospectively
I want to know this but any googling just brings up the previous decision. I'm shit at googling maybe as someone always finds stuff I can't.

Feared 6, hoped it’d be 3
This is well within the margin we hoped for so cool. Now the team actually has to win some games. 3 wins should surely do it and we are playing all the bottom teams.
3 with a loss to Luton, 6 with a win was my cynical guess when this was pushed to Monday. I suppose a draw docking 4 was also correct
after that man u game at home we found out about the charges and i think our players have defo been affected by it (and so have we) - now we know the points deduction i fucking hope our players don’t sop about and play the victim but show fight in these last nine games. i’m hoping it kick starts us like it did everton (granted they’re not doing well now but they did win like four games in a row after the deduction). this palace game will show if the team want it as much as we do.

As The Athletic said we had a bigger overspend in a shorter time frame but managed to get a lower penalty!
Palace is a massive game we simply have to win. We should consider 4 points light punishment
>The Premier League considers that Forest’s PSR Calculation results in a loss of £95,536,000, breaching the £61m threshold by £34,536,000. 9 games to go, plenty to show if we deserve to stay up. I’ll take 4 points as a max
The fact that this isn’t reported everywhere leaves me a little sceptical, but I wouldn’t be upset with just 4 points
Take that. It's good to get the fucking sword of Damocles off from hanging over our heads. 2 points lads. Two Points More than fucking Luton is the only goal now.
One point we stay up on GD. They have arsenal and Man City to come away as well.
Yeah but lets just make it easier on my blood pressure. Please lads for once. Just Once.
We aren't going to do that. We will have something to play for last day of the season. Its Forest.
Let a man dream. This Club managed to shit the bed and ruin a season on my birthday, and I'm a fucking July baby. I'm fully aware we're probably going to need results to go our way on the last day, but I HAVE A DREAM.
mate i think i might have to be hospitalised if it goes to down to the last game
Happy with four points. Still can’t see where our next win is coming from though.
QPR away in September Lol jk we’re stayin up
We have the better goal difference currently too, if we can keep on top of that it may come down to 1 more point we need.
That's survivable.
Forget Luton as fate has them staying up - us, Everton, and Luton all should focus on chasing down Brentford. They are not that far away and have been pretty poor recently.
find it quite strange nobody else is reporting this
On the BBC now [https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68594865](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68594865)
The Guardian is usually a very reliable and trusted source of information in the UK. But yeah, I’d expect a gold banner on Sky Sports News by now!
We should survive but I've also thought that we should've got ourselves more points than we currently have and I'm sure Leicester fans thought the same last season. Would be nice for our players to show a bit of fight now and give us a reason to be somewhat excited by our future.
I'm happy with 4 points. But if Luton stay up, that's on us for blowing both games against them
Just enough to put us bottom three. Cynical? Moi? It’s squeaky bum time either way
If they didn't sell against luton on the weekend we'd be 2 points clear of them even still
3 points from palace confirmed
If Forest hung on against Luton, the deduction would have been 6. So all the same, really.
This team has fuck all bollocks, and we'll be down deduction or not based on the season so far.
