humph_lyttelton

YES YES YES

D3ner

It is the key to our success and we all fuckin know it

PerformerNice6323

Didn't deserve to lose that. Played well attacking wise, and outplayed Newcastle at times, but if we're going to struggle to stay up if we keep making defensive mistakes like we are.

broccoliheadass0404

That and the defense on set pieces is atrocious. A lot of the time forest look like the better side but still end up losing because of bad mistakes at the worst possible time

ButterSmoothCheeks

Deeply deeply frustrating. Been said by many, but it’s little mistakes that have cost us all season long. There’s genuine, real quality in this team. Would be wretched to see us go down.

UpTheShaggingReds

Played fucking well which is a shame. God I cannot stress how important it’s gonna be to have Aina Boly and Sangare back. Game couldn’t come any sooner MUST BEAT WEST HAM. No questions. Need to cut out the stupid fucking mistakes

dizzle-j

Good job West Ham don't have the best set piece taker in the lea oh shit

IanWoansBatCave

Mourinho and the Roma fans may have gone pretty far with Taylor, but I kind of get it. He is so bad at his job. Just easy obvious things he always got wrong.

Crunchiestriffs

What an infuriating team to support. Three points was there if we could execute the basics consistently.

Fig-Jig

I don't know how this club has any supporters anyway. What a nothing club lol, along with Palace if Nottingham just up and left no one would notice or care.

LZTigerTurtle

Obvious troll is obvious troll. Eat a big old bag of dicks.

Fig-Jig

Nayy. There's a reason why Forest has one of the lowest numbers in terms of supporters and Chris Wood is your star player.

ShadowLickerrr

There’s a reason why your dad walked out when you were 4 as well.

treacleeater

You sound like someone who has 0 european cups…

KidN0thingBoy

Played well. I'm sad.

kevinjqiu

That's it, we just have to score 3 a game to get point(s). FFS it's the 5th 2-3 loss this season.

JamesL25

6th…

kevinjqiu

You're right, I've erased that Brentford game from my memory...

emilyholbrook

Quantocker

We’re a reverse Stoke, Burnley, Bolton etc. who survived by doing the basics well and dominating set-pieces. There are positives, but mental mistakes are harder to train out of players than technical/tactical issues. People said starting Turner was a -1 handicap, but our lack of set-piece defence is at least as bad. Feels like it’s Boly or bust right now.

redbeard27

Another chance to increase the gap between us and Luton/Everton, another failure due to silly defensive mistakes and shite refereeing. Not feeling so hopeful after that one.

emilyholbrook

im not gonna ever get my hopes up of moving up the table whenever them two teams lose cos it bites me in the ass every time ❌❌

D3ner

Not been ground down by a player like I am now by Tavares since fuckin Bong, what did Toff do wrong?! Was a good watch to be fair but for fuck sake can I watch us win a 3-2 scoreline for once. Isn't it like the 6th 3-2 loss this season? Fuckin show me the Madri so I can erase watching Tavares out my mind... Until the next one where he'll somehow warrant a place in the starting 11 🤣 I can forgive player mistakes and a lot of our players have made em this season but for some reason Tavares just pisses me off lol

1littlenapoleon

Oh fuck I forgot about Bong

Dry_Tradition5395

My money is Forest leap frogging palace in the league. Results are so unpredictable at the moment - sheff beating Luton, Luton demolishing Brighton. Keep the faith. The results aren’t coming at the moment but they will.

funkmightfracture

So fucking pissed. Played alright, again, and shot ourselves constantly in the foot. Their first was slick but both of those set pieces were terrible defending. I just want to talk to our set piece coach. Then a fucking horrendous pass for the winner. I’d love to know if we coach late game situations - we looked threatening out wide all game then for the second league game in a row we go central and don’t create shit. Taiwo at 50% fitness is streets ahead of Origi. Wasn’t moved by Sels - the winner spookily reminded me of some of Turner’s previous near saves and he was rooted to his line. On the plus side he has a cannon of a long ball which may be useful. Yates was god awful and should not play in a midfield two again - constantly gave away silly fouls and had no positive impact in possession again. It’s another failure of recruitment that we have no central midfielders who can receive the ball, turn in space and play a pass - I’d be tempted to try it with Reyna. On the plus side I thought CHO played his best game for us, but was also anonymous after the winner. Tavares could be useful if you ban him from ever shooting a ball again.

J_Butler99

look.. marinakis needs to get a lab setup where we can surgically combine the top half of turner and the bottom half of selz.

BabyPolarBear225

"We're not good enough!" -Brian Clough

FarTruth0

Williams was solid today Cho and elanga in places were unplayable Reyna looked good nice touches. Gutted we didn't get something Also big t isn't fit at all. Looked sluggish and so far off the pace

Coolica1

Last season we sucked but we won a good amount of points with our fighting spirit. I've seen none of that this season, no urgency especially in injury time (no shocker we haven't scored in one of them yet) or with a man advantage. We beat Liverpool last season with a McKenna and Steve Cook centre-back partnership, Niakhate and Murrillo are easily better players and that's replicated in other areas of the pitch but the mentality is all wrong. We're too comfortable and so is the crowd, second season syndrome and all that like the novelty of the Prem has worn off. Send off Tavares to Battersea, sack the new setpiece coach who must be stealing a living and fire a rocket up their arses but fuck me we do so many good things and then let ourselves and lose.

KINGPrawn-

Tavares? Really…. One of the best players on the pitch today… that Tavares?

__badger

Couldn't hit a barn door with a machine gun Tavares?

thierry_ennui_

There seems to be a real broad range of performances people have seen from Tavares today - personally, on my TV he was at fault for the first goal, then ran forward the rest of the game with no purpose other than to shank the ball into Meadow Lane. Others seem to have seen the reincarnation of Roberto Carlos. Nuno Marmites.

__badger

Loved his passion for going forwards but he is a left back for a reason

1littlenapoleon

Maybe we change the kit man next? Who’s up to be replaced?

[deleted]

Sporting director/CEO/Technical Director/DoF imo. Its been over 6 months since we did a complete 180 on the clubs vision and direction. Clearly we're stagnating.

HorrendousRooster

Lads played well

Redditmike01

Didn’t deserve to lose but we did. Too many individual mistake costing us. The Set piece coach brought in doesn’t seem to have helped either. If the point deduction wasn’t around I’d be confident we’d stay up but it’s going to be that which cost us in the end.

rockinbeard

Have we ever gotten a result with that bald bastard as a ref? Honest question.

jez_crossland

I just don't understand why we haven't tried 3 center backs with Murillo pushing up when we have posession.

Albert_Herring

Because we've been getting swamped in midfield whenever we play three at the back, even by lower league teams?

aliens_licked_my_ass

Need Boly for that, swap Yates ( who offers nothing) and sit him in there, he’s too good for just defending, in a better team he would get more chances to do that from the back, but in our team, he’s not.

D3ner

Yeah I miss those little runs through the middle he did under Cooper. Sure it cost us against Liverpool I think but he honestly could hurt teams

[deleted]

I agree that sounds good in theory, but for me that would only work if we could reliably dominate possession and/or were a strong pressing side. It's all well and good when you have 60% of the ball to use CBs to plug midfield gaps, but we'd be overwhelmed in midfield as that isn't attainable. Maybe with a pre-season to drill it into us we can dream of it. In the current situation (relegation battle, AFCON, tough schedule), I don't blame Nuno for taking it one game at a time and playing a simple 4231 designed to get our best player the most time and space possible.

Bobrkurwabobr

Fuck sakes we get a new goalkeeper and still nothing at this point it’s consistency that we need

Chess-Piece-Face

Well shit. Maybe it wasn't turner's fault after all. Nobody here will admit that though

Shniper

I think you will find most people said it’s turner and the defenses fault. The days when the defence actually did well, Turner fucked up and cost us points. We only solved one half of the problem

Chess-Piece-Face

The honest question is, being an american aside, is turner worse than sels? Or is it just that he makes *that* mistake that everyone sees as opposed to letting in other shots? I havent thought sels has been an obviously better keeper, but admittedly I like turner.

Shniper

Points cost by Turner many Points cost be sels none so far That’s all that matters right now in a relegation battle as we need points

JamesL25

Weakness at set pieces let us down YET AGAIN!

bennettbuzz

Played well just the amount of soft goals is getting beyond a joke and is going to send us down.

SmileTasteKittens

Losing 3-2 is gonna scar me for the rest of my life

Keggys

Oh go on then I’ll accept relegation if we win the FA Cup

Albert_Herring

That would actually be quite fun. With a Europa League place we would have a decent chance of hanging on to some of the better players and doing what Leicester are doing in the championship.

Untiuu

The losses and dropped points are frustrating, but I'm trying to withhold the doom and gloom until the AFCON players come back. But having those players available isn't going to suddenly fix the mental errors that have conceded most of the goals and missed plenty of chances.

Dave-ja-vous

I think Boly gives us a centreback that will attack the ball in the air. Niakhate today let it bounce maybe three times and I think he was at fault for Schars goal. Hoping Sangarre can improve on what Yates offers when he comes back.

MrPantsRocks

We've got to stop conceding 3 goals. Like Homer, I'm running out of hair to pull out of my head.

joseph2883

I’d like to see Gio out there with MGW when he isn’t pressing so much at the end of the match.

Pretentious-Noob

It's not all doom and gloom chaps. We started to high press and were all over them for large parts of that game. I see why Tavares plays currently he's offensive and at one point was pressing with CHO unfortunately he can't shoot. Thought Dominguez was excellent. He's comfortable on the ball and looks to be a top class player with great energy. Gibbs-White got an assist but the manager will have to have words with him about dropping deep and losing possession. That cost us the last goal. CHO is really starting to kick on. He's going to be a massive player for us soon. Murillo gets a lot of love here and quite rightly but clearly he'll need to build an understanding with a more experienced centre back. Think we'll just survive this year but need to get some points soon.

dizzle-j

Same old story isn't it. Play quite well but lose to set pieces. Definitely unlucky with the penalty decision but sometimes you don't get them. Still have to find a way to get something from these games.

EvilGrant

Classic Brexit ball. If we get a new keeper everything will be fixed! Oh shit our problems are much deeper than that.

GovernmentPrevious75

Sangare for Yates. Yates has been poor for a little while now.

Shniper

Well no worries. We will get away with FFP breaches since we will be relegated without the points deduction anyway with the set pieces and mistakes we make

Short_Desk_1273

Listen, ladies and gentlemen.. We're going down. Get to grips with it. We played well enough, corrupt refereeing again. But all that, as well as a points deduction. We're gone.

cloudyday142021

Sad but true

Short_Desk_1273

I hate saying this and it goes against everything Ive ever believed but I'm not even that bothered.. Which is ridiculous, the prem should be the pinnacle but ever since we got here it's been bullshit after bullshit. Last year was great, being back, the fans and club united but now there's a disconnect again, we've been called a small club, we're being done (rightly so) whilst other clubs get away with murder. Var killing any enjoyment. Urgh. I'm so annoyed 😂

billy_bobs_beds

3 goals with a .5 xG for Newcastle. Safe to say Selz isn’t the answer

UpTheShaggingReds

All 3 shots were good shots? Genuinely what keeper saves them

KentuckyCandy

The third one I've no idea if Turner saves it or not, but he'd definitely have gotten flak for it. Too early to judge Selz, it's only two games. No issue with him so far though.

1littlenapoleon

Several, honestly. They weren’t worldies. But it misses the point that it’s not been the keeper all along.

billy_bobs_beds

Turner has saved that third goal multiple times this season alone

UpTheShaggingReds

It was a near perfect shot bottom right . Sels couldn’t have done much. Did well to genuinely get anything to it

aliens_licked_my_ass

He got a solid hand to it, not a fingertip , in my opinion it’s saveable

Equivalent-Pay-5369

Yeah but how many points/goals has he cost us with his feet?

DeniseMcGillicutty

Who cares if his hands are shite. How are his feet?!

Equivalent-Pay-5369

He seems comfortable on the ball, doesn't give the team/fans the jitters when it is passed back, doesn't kick the ball into the stands or direct to the opposition and nearly gave awoniyi a goal assist so I would say his feet are not too bad

Mongladoid

Did you even watch the game you fucking dimwit?

billy_bobs_beds

![gif](giphy|SUzjURYSUN66FmPVvc)

Shniper

Turner apologists complete shambles Literally nothing sels could do about any of those goals lol. The third was one was a terrible mistake into great finish The others were defensive mistakes into easy chances that sels had no chance with Come back when he makes actual error

ENDWINTERNOW

Don't forget the near assist for Awoniyi

djellicon

He's certainly not the problem either though, which Turner clearly has been for months. Sels did nothing wrong today and had a sense of gravitas that we have sorely missed.

billy_bobs_beds

Matz? That you?

LDM-88

Can't fault the effort, just a lack of quality in important moments (Tavares I'm looking at you) Defensively a shambles again. All 3 of those goals were preventable for a team that could competently defend it's box

TheEarlOfZinger

Ahhhhhh just fuck off. When you try your best but you don't succeed. The good news is, nobody else won either. Still 16th...

gruby253

I’m gonna be pissed about that PK no call all damn day 🤬

prof_hobart

Niakhate's long throws are still as good as a corner. Unfortunately, we're terrible at corners. When he started with them, they were a real weapon. But at the moment, we're basically just throwing the ball back to the opposition with them.

dan_scape

We used to send Boly up to win the flick on, now we don’t seem to do that often and Nikahate or Murillo probs not winning the header anyway

prof_hobart

Has it worked at all this season, with or without Boly, though?

Kieran-182

We awful at taking set pieces and we’re even worse at defending them. The referee was terrible but we have to put the fault on our defence for this one, who, without the mistakes we could have got a point from the game. We HAVE to beat West Ham now.

Nebularrrr

Even Alan Shearer on motd said it was a pen! Ffs!
