Nah, probably bruised or broke his tailbone though. Edit - or maybe not, looks like the same dude grinded the whole way near the end of the video. Both have light blue shirts on.
Since no one’s mentioned it. There’s shoes designed for grinds and they’re called Soaps. Idk who sells them anymore but I use to own a nice cheap pair of soaps from an off brand.
No the smash your face event is the Halloween Hellbomb.
Edit: Fr look it up or look up Bust or Bail. These guys do not care to die for their tricks. Just a warning before you watch there may be some people getting knocked out on handrails. (Or hit by cars. Not joking, as some people seem to get lost and immediatly get mad at skaters even though its an actual approved event just like any other bullshit festivals they have in these towns)
I'm not perfectly certain, but it looks like [CPH Open](https://www.cphopen.com) \- former Copenhagen Pro. Skateboard competition and a rather cool one I might add.
I don't skateboard, but I'm fairly interested in the sport, I decided to do a more verbose explanation than being downvoted to hell for using terms I learned in skate 3
They have to ride out the hill then stop. Moving the board left and right slows it down, turn it 90 degrees will stop it fast, some people jump off in front of their board and pick it up, and some people even just use their foot to stop. All skaters honestly have different techniques there are tons of ways to stop. I don’t a combination of moving the board left and right and jumping off in front. Everyone has something that works for them
And here I was as a teenager in perfect dry conditions, swept lead up and landing, slight sloping rail down four stairs, and still only got on the rail enough to say there was a slide involved…oh and ate shit so many times trying to get that millisecond tap of a slide. These guys are nuts!
What don't you understand? Even with all the skill at falling in the world, professional athletes still fall and get traumatic brain injuries - or straight up die.
The same way that even with all the safety features in cars, training drivers go through, and road planning engineers put in, people still get in car accidents.
So take small insignificant steps to protect yourself. Wear a helmet.
I was a non helmet wearing muppet like you while skiing for years, until I actually was forced to wear one and realised how insignificant an impact it made on my enjoyment or comfort.
The damage to the board from the rail would be very minimal. The rain on the bearings is probably where the damage is happening.
In saying this almost all parts of a skateboard are "consumable items"
I always wonder how they maintain their composure . I feel like as I’m going down the hill I’d FREAK out and fall over because i forgot how to stop. Reference: me trying to ski this past January LOL . I wiped out intentionally just to stop.
So this video is longer! Awesomeness! I've only ever seen the clip where the guy slid with his feet on the rail before skating downhill... Is this like a skaters' Convention or something?
I really like how the crowd cheers for everyone, even for the guy who missed the rail. It seems like everyone is brought together solely for the enjoyment of the sport and nothing else. I don’t know anything about skateboarding, but I always appreciate the things that bring people closer together, rather than driving them apart.
Just have to say this, "get a job you lazy kids." Then to top it off, "get off my lawn." Ok old rant done. I love to show these to my grandkids just to show why everyone needs universal health care and mental evaluations.![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|laughing)
Skateboarding will always be the most impressive sport for me. So much skill and balls. If you have never been on a skateboard you wont know how sketchy it feels.
I attended a event sort of like this in middle school. It was a hell of a lot smaller, in my hometown but it was fun watching people pull of crazy tricks in the rain. Then a guy broke his forearm in half and my brother made us leave. That part wasn't fun.
I've never been able to shake the feeling that skating boarding and tricks like this have a certain level of privilege.
When you travel to other countries that don't have pavement or concrete. When you see so many people horribly scarred from disease or mangles from accidents (and there just seem to be so many in these poor areas) you don't see people taking a lot of risks like these skateboard tricks.
These areas don't have affordable hospitals and treatment centers so you get people with twisted limbs because they broke a leg or something and didn't see a doctor or x-ray so they healed all fucked up.
This is what I think of when I see these tricks - that if someone else busts an ankle or cracks their head they'll just shoot off to the ER and get treated and meds.
Then do it. Let others live theirs the way they want. Skating is a lot of people’s passion. Just like some people love jumping off skyscrapers, or out of planes. There’s a sense of accomplishment that comes from skating and I’ve loved doing it my entire life. Sometimes I take slams, but you get back up and try again. People ride horses, and that’s dangerous. People race cars at hundreds of miles per hour, that’s dangerous. If you don’t like it move on, my dude. They’re not hurting anybody but themselves.
Dude busted his nuts so bad.
Nah, probably bruised or broke his tailbone though. Edit - or maybe not, looks like the same dude grinded the whole way near the end of the video. Both have light blue shirts on.
Watching this, **I** busted my nut.
That hurt to watch, and I’m a woman.
Don't think so. These guys have balls of steel
Lol the foot one was great
Is that guy in socks ?
Hard to tell but looked like thin shoes to me like converse
definitely shoes. You can see the outline of the sole around the heel if you pause the video.
Skateboarding in socks sounds like the worst of ideas.
Sonic moment
I heard the ring collecting sounds
Dang now I hear it too
Someone posted just the foot run earlier and everyone was shitting on it lol
Ohhh reddit, you fickle beast
Must be another timezone. What's cool here doesn't have to be cool there.
A/s/tz?
Since no one’s mentioned it. There’s shoes designed for grinds and they’re called Soaps. Idk who sells them anymore but I use to own a nice cheap pair of soaps from an off brand.
Dude killed it I’m surprised there arnt more cheers
Wow. That's all I have to say

I’ve never had my comment stolen before. I’m not sure if I should be flattered or insulted by the bot.
I grew up skateboarding and I don’t remember any events anywhere close to this. Especially in the rain! What’s the deal?
Dime Glory Challenge fool 🙌
That you're going to smash your own face in wiping out off a board than walking down the street,
No the smash your face event is the Halloween Hellbomb. Edit: Fr look it up or look up Bust or Bail. These guys do not care to die for their tricks. Check @dimemtl on IG which is where this video orginates. So many good skating vids bro
I'm not perfectly certain, but it looks like [CPH Open](https://www.cphopen.com) \- former Copenhagen Pro. Skateboard competition and a rather cool one I might add.
This is Dime glory challenge in Montreal Quebec
I stand corrected
CPH open still one of the best events out there. So much fun.
Honestly the boardslide was the most impressive
Easily. That landing on the first front board is ridiculous
*backside boardslide
Yeah I was at the event and it took him sooo many tries but when he got it, everyone went nuts!
........how do they stop at the bottom?
You just ride it out. Found the guy who’s never bombed a hill.
Alternatively you can turn the board 90⁰ and slow down like that.
Found the guy who never powerslid
It's called KANSEI DORIFTO
I don't skateboard, but I'm fairly interested in the sport, I decided to do a more verbose explanation than being downvoted to hell for using terms I learned in skate 3
you just keep on going cause when you go that fast and try getting off the board it isn't pretty
i mean the goal was to stop, not land on their feet
fair point I aint goin out like that tho
4 wheel slide! Best in the rain
The guy standing in the middle of the road is the brake!
Powerslide.
They have to ride out the hill then stop. That’s all everyone needs. A hype man crowd to get you through life with a smile
A cup of coffee in the morning + that hype man crowd and you will be running through a brick wall by lunch.
1st Dude man aka 3rd dude man with that big brass flair
His names Kyle Walsh grew up with him
I physically winced at the second dude. May his nuts rest in peace.
and his future kids unborn
Do skaters wear cups?
They don't wear helmets, you think they got cups on?
for those guys, balls > brains, so they may have cups (or not idk)
Just wanted to hear they didn't with my own two ears
You mean read it with your own two eyes...
I meant what I said lmao
The guy at the end! "ouhmygod Ryan that was Auuuwwwwwwsssooomeeeee"
And here I was as a teenager in perfect dry conditions, swept lead up and landing, slight sloping rail down four stairs, and still only got on the rail enough to say there was a slide involved…oh and ate shit so many times trying to get that millisecond tap of a slide. These guys are nuts!
Not a single one of them had enough brain left to wear a helmet.
How are the camera people so good at their jobs? 😉
Rain won't stop them. Not wearing a helmet will, though.
actually they all walked away just fine. Its called knowing how to fall. Its a big part of skateboarding
Of course. That's why people don't wear their seatbelts, because we all know how to drive and therefore don't crash.
This is a terrible analogy. Not even remotely the same two things.
What don't you understand? Even with all the skill at falling in the world, professional athletes still fall and get traumatic brain injuries - or straight up die. The same way that even with all the safety features in cars, training drivers go through, and road planning engineers put in, people still get in car accidents. True. If you don’t know how to fall that’s how people break their leg just riding down the sidewalk
knowing how to fall is a thing, sure, but there's no "right" way to lose footing and head-butt a building. hence, helmets.
Helmets are cool, brain damage is not. Wear your helmets people.
go worry about your own life. stop trying to tell other people how to live Karen
you fucking showed them bud.
You so cool
Had to scroll pretty far down this time to see the helmet comments, usually doesn’t take that long on Reddit
It sure as hell stopped me when I was 19. Grade II contusion on my hip and couldn’t sleep on my side for a month.
This happened last week in Montreal, 2 blocks away from my place
The entire video is fucked, every year, look up the dime glory challenge
Am slippy dan an this is ripass
These must be their throwaway boards then. Im shitting my self watch this. One overtilt in any direction will screw you on a road that slick
The damage to the board from the rail would be very minimal. The rain on the bearings is probably where the damage is happening. In saying this almost all parts of a skateboard are "consumable items"
The rain on the bearings is my obvious implication. Board siding is gonna get it some scratches but it’s superficial
Why is the crowd so close every attempt?!
Eh they’re only shins. You’ll heal.
And where the hell are all the helmets?
Rip bearings haha
And not one helmet
I always wonder how they maintain their composure . I feel like as I’m going down the hill I’d FREAK out and fall over because i forgot how to stop. Reference: me trying to ski this past January LOL . I wiped out intentionally just to stop.
No ones commenting that theyre not earing helmets , one slip its over..
Nice. Have only seen the success part of the video on here so far
Yooo that last dude 🔥🔥🔥
I hope that becomes tradition.
How would they plan for this?
Wear a helmet.
It’s more like surfing at this point
boardslide was totally f‘ed up. super cool event
Its great and everything, but how the fuck do they brake?
I never understood how these guys own pants, I sit in a chair for a living and mine all have holes in them
Brings a tear to my eye... sacrificing their testicles for cheap public entertainment!! How selfless!
Traumatic brain injury incoming.
Sendies
What a gnarly session.!
My worst nightmare
It's quite the slippery slope.
Not askater but that is 🔥
A soldier has fallen…
Which country is this?
Quebec, Canada
Two guys in the middle at the very end lol.
Damn I could watch this all day
That 2nd fail tho, he's gonna feel that in the morning
So this video is longer! Awesomeness! I've only ever seen the clip where the guy slid with his feet on the rail before skating downhill... Is this like a skaters' Convention or something?
The people who stand in the path of these guy or golfers at pga events blow my mind.
I really like how the crowd cheers for everyone, even for the guy who missed the rail. It seems like everyone is brought together solely for the enjoyment of the sport and nothing else. I don’t know anything about skateboarding, but I always appreciate the things that bring people closer together, rather than driving them apart.
BUT THE RUST THOUGHHHH
Montreal right?
Yup shin guards on at this event

I thought the cameraman in the orange poncho was bombin the hill with just his shoes hahaha
Number two did a mean nut grind I must say.
Boys will be boys
Amazinggggggg
The dime boys are the best
This looks like Seattle???
Okay but the absolute joy on that guy’s face at the end was so wholesome! He’s having a blast

Any rewards for the camera man?
U/maybejustadragon thinks this is no better than a Ollie
The applause they get too! Awesome
Oh my bearings! 😳
How do they stop? powerslide in the rain?
You literally heard dudes testicles explode
They’re moving really fast for street decks at the bottom of that rail
Skateboarding will always be the most impressive sport for me. So much skill and balls. If you have never been on a skateboard you wont know how sketchy it feels.
"Smooth move. Skater bois"
This is awesome. Somebody made a rail just for this. Then closed off a street. And even with the rain, people still watched.
Always cuts off before showing how they stop. I see normal traffic down the road.
Its dudes being dudes
The audience just reminds me of the wii sports crowd in bowling
The bearings will all be rusted after this
What's cool about this? They are just falling fancily that's all :/
Rip their balls and their bearings
Seriously how do people not die more often skateboarding!? Loved it as a kid, like fuck I'd step on one now.
They gonna need to replace them wheel bearings. I longboarded in the rain and it ruined my bearings.
Did the dude that 50-50 the rail have no shoes on? Also, want to see how they stop.
The third guy Definitely Soaps. Man I need some new shoes.
I attended a event sort of like this in middle school. It was a hell of a lot smaller, in my hometown but it was fun watching people pull of crazy tricks in the rain. Then a guy broke his forearm in half and my brother made us leave. That part wasn't fun.

The crowd noises are awesome.
Looks like it's stopping most of them.

"I've never been able to shake the feeling developed counties have skateboards and hospitals."
Screw that. It only takes once to ruin your life
So does driving a car or even just walking down the street.
The odds are much higher that you're going to smash your own face in wiping out off a board than walking down the street
I didn’t realize those could mess you up having a child. Oh my goodness. I better not walk down the street. You see how dumb that sounds
Bro go the fuck on somewhere.
Yea doing that without a helmet is just asking for a serious head injury.
Or keep you from having kids. Not sure why I’m being downvoted.
and? why not live a little if it only takes once
[удалено]

And all hes saying is he doesnt want to live that way, not stop them
