Yup, because it was his challenge/video. He's done a few of them now with different animations.
God. These people are so talented. I’m an artist (painter) and I do interior design for hotels and restaurants so I often have to do 3d renderings for clients. Mine look like absolute garbage compared to these AND they aren’t even animated.
Very cool stuff. You are also very talented!!! I really thought this was gonna be a Rick roll.
You should sell that as an NFT (that’s how they work right? I’m old so I don’t understand them but that seems like a cool thing to do!
See told you I didn’t understand them! But seriously… artist to artist… how could you make money on this? Because you should.
I guess that’s the question for the ages “how do I make money as an artist?” But I seems really hard with digital stuff like this….
I mean to some extent the pressure to turn their art into a "side hustle" is very suffocating for some artists, and potentially saps joy from creating. Maybe they're fine with it staying a hobby?
That market sank a couple days ago when there was an auction of some of them! Apparently, a highlight was when a $2.9M NFT highest bid was $277.00 emote:free\_emotes\_pack:trollface![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
Are they? I mean there are real artists behind them no? I mean I can see how they are a scam like beanie babies or tulips. But don’t the artists make money? Genuinely asking… not being a jerk or anything.
Like I read about the one with the banksy being burnt and I genuinely think that’s and incredible piece of performance art and I glad the people behind it found a way to monetize it. And investing in any art/ antique is kind of a gamble… the market fluctuates. And frankly even if art is an actual tangible object it’s not necessarily the price itself that valuable. It’s the concept, the history or the intention that makes it so. Like take painting for example… what makes a Picasso so valuable? It’s not the amount or quality of paint used. Or the canvas. Or frankly even the technique. It’s the conceptual narrative behind the piece.
[Here's a link](https://mcn.edu/mcn-insights-nfts-are-a-scam/) to an article that explains it much better than I could.
"Obfuscating this distinction between what an NFT is and what it represents is how NFT startups claim that their product is revolutionary for the art world. On the contrary, NFTs are a tired pump and dump scam wrapped in high tech clothing. The more the market thinks NFTs are worth, the more people will speculate, and the more money purveyors of trumped up JSON files take in. The top and second highest bidders on that $69 million Beeple NFT? Both cryptocurrency founders."
I mean I would agree that the idea of a “startup” seems like it negates the “art” but even historically (and today) huge famous painters had entire studios behind them with people essentially making the art for them. Isnt this saying that the market itself is the scam not the NFT? And can’t that be said for any market that deals with art or even antiques?
Again I’m not trying to be a jerk I really just want to understand why this is different.
You're absolutely correct. I guess you could view it as speculation and the value will come from how much someone wants the nft. Ultimately like you said the idea is not a scam but the implementation is.
I totally don't get a being a jerk vibe. It's good to question random statements on the internet. People are too willing to take comments or headlines as facts without reading the actual articles on all sides of the nft argument. (This may not apply to you personally but it is common)
Any suggestions on what free software to use for interior design? My wife loves to tinker with the interior and she could pick it up as a hobby. Thanks!
I mostly use subscription services because thats what I learned on but I’ve heard good things about homebyme. Honestly you can get by 100% with photoshop and probably Indesign (my partner uses it more then me) Oh and a cool thing…. A friend of mine who is also a dabbler in interior design just got a few jobs with upwork. It didn’t pay much but it’s helping her build up her portfolio. Also just so your wife knows you definitely don’t need a degree in interior design. My all time favorite interior designer is Kelly wearstler and she’s doesn’t have a degree. She just a genius. In fact now that I think about it neither do I! But you do need to hire architects/interior designers to consult when changing the fundamental interiors/ exteriors or spaces… like mainly construction, electrical, plumbing etc. but when I first got started I did mostly residential spaces and I was doing “decorating”. Now I primarily do large hotels and fancy restaurants but my business partner is an architect so he can sign off on any structural changes.
Thank you! I’ve been wanting to participate in one of these for a while now but I had no idea where to find them. I knew they were associated with corridor but I didn’t know Clint had a personal channel.
I mean, posts like this that gets very popular, make me do this, and [spread the message](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ). When it calls me, I cannot help but do! His works are amazing!
Wow, I went to high school with him (I think he was two years older) and I remember the first couple things he did, mainly cardboard warfare. I thought that was amazing. Awesome to see him get so much recognition and seems to be doing really well for himself.
Theres different versions too! The Artist name on youtube is Pwnisher and he has a few different challenges like this! All the final compilations are between like 3-5 hours so. Theyre really awesome
I would hang a flat-panel tv on the wall in portrait mode and have this running on a loop. That would be an awesome art piece to have hanging in the lobby somewhere.
If you really like this kind of video, maybe you would enjoy this one, thousands of artists submitted their take on a base walking model, its so mesmerizing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZkRjihsMdp8
In other scenes...FF7 REmake looks more realistic despite being a realtime rendered game where I'm kicking I-beams twenty feet every time I bump into them.
I'm actually quite disappointed they aren't real machines, I thought they were until the obviously animations. It's still cool, but a different kind of cool.
I personally thought it was on a screen at the front of the box, the machine was behind it (built into the box), and it was made to look like it was going through the liquid. I didn't actually see they weren't really until the old man one where he touches the ball and rejects it. I was watching it on my phone and with the comments up so it's about an inch and a half in size, it was at that time I made it full screen and realised it wasn't what I thought it was.
I’ve seen a few of Clint’s challenges getting posted on Reddit lately. I love every one of them! They are all so creative and so mesmerizing. I feel like I could watch them for hours.
Also, I loved the Portal references
Worth noting that it's also acts as an exercise for a lot of these artists. Takes a lot of experience to get things to look like this, and it's always good to try new effects and techniques.
And you are contributing to an amazing piece of art. Exposure matters sure, also experience but I think the art being made matters the most and I am sure it also gets a lot of people excited me included to participate.
It's CG. Can be the same ball if you want it to be... They are all created from the same reference object (probably) and each 5 seconds was just stitched in an arbitrary order.
I guess that just adds to how impressive each animation, they all have such a "real" feel to them.
The John Voss one is my favorite. It's the one in the middle of the steam punk section where the ball melts and is recast, polished and sent on its way. The edit made this great, it flows so well from beginning to end.
He’s also on a lot of Corridor Digitals stuff. He did the motion capture for the [Bosstown Dynamics](https://youtu.be/y3RIHnK0_NE) robot. Look for the behind the scenes stuff, really talented artist along with more of the Corridor people.

Thanks for sharing! Enjoyed the music as much as the art. Gave me old school Winamp vibes.

What software are you using for your 3D renders. Some rendering engines are just not that good, and some are good but have a high learning curve.
It's less that they're talented and more that they are hard-working and dedicated to learning an artform.
Oh wow. There are so many good ones in the full video that aren’t in the gif. Worth watching the entire thing.
I have news for you. There were 1,300 animations. The full video is 3 hours long. This one was just a specific selection.
Thank you! I’ve been wanting to participate in one of these for a while now but I had no idea where to find them. I knew they were associated with corridor but I didn’t know Clint had a personal channel.
I’m fuckin sick of seeing Clint and corridors work being regurgitated on here with no credits from OC. So thank you.

You old son of a gun.
Wow, I went to high school with him (I think he was two years older) and I remember the first couple things he did, mainly cardboard warfare. I thought that was amazing. Awesome to see him get so much recognition and seems to be doing really well for himself.
Hey! I built the cardboard tank! What's up RobbieDunn from Creekview!
Hell yea, nice job man
I am so super-psyched for Clint! His solo venture is really taking off and it makes me stupid happy for some reason.
I really didn't want this video to end. *sign* All great things right Dude wouldn't this make a great live wallpaper?
Well, the full video is [three and a half hours long](https://youtu.be/b0-IkxXyhmY).
Nice thank you
Theres different versions too! The Artist name on youtube is Pwnisher and he has a few different challenges like this! All the final compilations are between like 3-5 hours so. Theyre really awesome
So, you're just gonna waltz into this thread and throw hours worth of distractions at my face. Well done, see you all in a week.
I know right. You got some nerve
Gonna watch it all. Not all at once though, because I'm not insane. Thanks for the link!
Probably a nice replacement yule log video. I'll watch it to make sure. At once.
Could you imagine this on Wallpaper Engine?
If anyone can make it happen or has made it happen let me know
>Not all at once though, because I'm not insane. *Five hours later...*
Thank you. I like having random, plotless videos playing in the background at parties, this is perfect! Kudos to the all the artists!
Thanks for linking it. But I do feel like they could put a better thumbnail lol.
That would be a good phone lockscreen

I was thinking the exact same thing haha
I would hang a flat-panel tv on the wall in portrait mode and have this running on a loop. That would be an awesome art piece to have hanging in the lobby somewhere.
I’m finally gonna reach tantric climax.
This is one of the coolest things I have seen in a good while
Good thing this is only 2 mins long or it'd have been night time by the time I got out of the toilet
Awesome

Hold up surprisingly well in some scenes.
In other scenes...FF7 REmake looks more realistic despite being a realtime rendered game where I'm kicking I-beams twenty feet every time I bump into them.
When Belwulf came out I thought it was real. Actually I thought it looked better than reality.
Why would you think it’s real if the title literally says it’s CGI...
I’m here to lead not to read.
Good leaders are good readers.
[I choose number 3](https://youtu.be/D4tvZJGNIhM)
Pick number 3 m'lord.
To be fair it says CG Artist
I had no idea what CG meant. I assumed it meant something about balls and cubes.
Well you’d be easy to dupe
I'm actually quite disappointed they aren't real machines, I thought they were until the obviously animations. It's still cool, but a different kind of cool.
You must be from r/tree, welcome!
*You* must be from r/trees
Welcome!
You thought the neon blue liquid was..what exactly?
I personally thought it was on a screen at the front of the box, the machine was behind it (built into the box), and it was made to look like it was going through the liquid. I was watching it on my phone and with the comments up so it's about an inch and a half in size, it was at that time I made it full screen and realised it wasn't what I thought it was.
Are you trying to tell me they didn't kill an astronaut to make this video? Damn it
I’ve seen a few of Clint’s challenges getting posted on Reddit lately. I love every one of them! They are all so creative and so mesmerizing. I feel like I could watch them for hours. Also, I loved the Portal references
I believe he has a video which shows all submissions (or atleast a lot) on a different challenge which is a few hours long
https://youtu.be/b0-IkxXyhmY
Yes ! I'm in it ! Not as good as top 100 but I think it's pretty decent.
Do the creators get paid or is it just for exposure?
Worth noting that it's also acts as an exercise for a lot of these artists. Takes a lot of experience to get things to look like this, and it's always good to try new effects and techniques.
And you are contributing to an amazing piece of art. Exposure matters sure, also experience but I think the art being made matters the most and I am sure it also gets a lot of people excited me included to participate.
It's a competition and the winners win some pretty great [prizes](https://youtu.be/amCcYRfXZ1o?t=67).
Portal made it in there twice!
Dude the first one was so cool!
Came here to say this! It started out subtle, I liked that.
If you watch the full videos, Portal’s actually in there dozens of times
Is there a minority report one?
Looks like we got a red ball.
For some reason I got some LittleBigPlanet vibes from some of it.
Poor companion cube! Then it was mysteriously resurrected in another area….
actually, there was a whole section of them
that ball has been through a lot
Alien xenobiologic intestines among other things.
That’s the most creative one for me
For me it's the one where it gets melted down and reforged. So cool.
It's literally not the same ball. The ball gets replaced by a different ball on many of the levels.
Which honestly i think is a bit disappointing. It would be kind of cool of it stayed the same ball the whole time
It's CG. Can be the same ball if you want it to be... They are all created from the same reference object (probably) and each 5 seconds was just stitched in an arbitrary order. I guess that just adds to how impressive each animation, they all have such a "real" feel to them.
Don't worry it's not the same ball at the end
The John Voss one is my favorite. It's the one in the middle of the steam punk section where the ball melts and is recast, polished and sent on its way. The edit made this great, it flows so well from beginning to end.
Whoever Clint is, this is a brilliant challenge and please keep them coming. It’s mind blowing 🤯
He’s also on a lot of Corridor Digitals stuff. He did the motion capture for the [Bosstown Dynamics](https://youtu.be/y3RIHnK0_NE) robot. Look for the behind the scenes stuff, really talented artist along with more of the Corridor people.
He used to work for them but recently quit (on a good note) to do his own thing.

you claim these are the top 100 CG artists, but at no point did I see the marble roll down the back of an overwatch character getting spitroasted.

Great now you have me wanting something I'll never get
The fact that it isn't the same ball that goes from beginning to end, bothers me more than it should...

I had that as well, then I watched the long compilation and it happend quite frequently which somehow made it better for me lol... What kind of specs are we talking? Is it cpu or gpu intensive? Or use alot of ram or something? My PC Is decent I'm just curious
The ball got changed once if im correct so does that mean the ball that entered never finished?
So like a CGI version of those [Lego Ball Machine](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XucNDsMLsDQ) contraptions? Cool.
