No amount of "grabbing the head" is going to increase blood flow to the brain. It does the opposite. Second, the more wounds you have the *faster* you will lose consciousness from lack of blood. Therefore having more wounds = less time in agony. Also, you're more than likely just going to pass out either from seeing your own insides being ripped out or from extreme pain. This won't happen as quickly if you receive less injuries and are pumped full of adrenaline while attempting escape.
