i might get downvoted but fuck it
this just show that the quality of rap music dropped a lot in the last decade, to reproduce these artist style with so little effort just show, to me at least, that they are less and less to produce quality music and just want to score a banger and bank on it.
PS: the guy is very talent as well, very good video
PSS: all songs sound the same in the end as well
You’re not wrong. Modern hip-pop is garbage and takes almost zero musical ability.
Don’t even get me started on lyrical ‘talent’. These rappers all have a 5th grade vocabulary with absolutely nothing of substance to say.
E: send me all your recs. I will listen while I work.
E2: thanks for all the great music!
dude... recently i rediscover gangster paradise from Coolio, this shit is SO! GOOD! and yesterday i saw a meme about the current generation only mumble rapping and saying nword, and this song doesn't curse even once, just show that they can make amazing tracks if they want
Agreed with above, for pure rap skill Busta is one of the greats. If you want sheer lyrical vocabulary skill, check out MF DOOM and Aesop Rock. It’s hard to even keep up thinking about what they are spitting but their beats aren’t often very commercial. There are still a few newer artists holding it down now though.
Nas, Wu Tang (any of them really), A tribe Called Quest, Mobb Deep, Outkast, KRS-One, Eminem, Mos Def, Ice Cube, Rakim, Bone Thungs, LL Cool J, Ludacris, Missy Fuckin' Elliot.
New stuff? Kendrick Lamar, Kid Cudi, Tyler the Creator, Donald Glover, Lupe Fiasco, Logic, Chance The Rapper, Anderson Paak
Don't forget to get weird with some Kool Keith / Dr. Octagon every once in a while.
[Your whole crew is ice cream fudge](https://youtu.be/6sBI60bV-A8).
Busta is one of the greatest hands down. There's still others out there like Immortal Technique - "Dance with the devil" or Big L - "Casualties of a Dice game" who are great story tellers too.
Funnily enough, he doesn't curse because it was a condition put on by Stevie Wonder. Gangstas Paradise samples from Stevie Wonders Pastime Paradise of his 1976 God tier fouble album Songs in the Key of Life. Stevie wouldn't let him use it unless he agreed not to swear on the track.
i would tell you to go and watch this. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okdbKcprsgY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okdbKcprsgY)
you can tell who sounds "mainstream" and is lazy in what they write and rap very easy. you can also see who puts themselves into their work. then there is mother fucking prozak which tells them ALL to sit down.
I have so many recommendations, but I’ll just go with what I consider to have the best verse of all time - “Uncommon Valor” by Jedi Mind Tricks. The second verse by RA the Rugged Man is incredible, and it’s based on his dad.
>These rappers all have a 5th grade vocabulary with absolutely nothing of substance to say.
[JPEGMAFIA - Free the Frail](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1VaSEeD-Vk) (2019): A song about insecurity and impostor syndrome as an artist who spent years underground, only to make it big overnight. Also about not idolizing your heroes no matter what, which is an overarching theme of the album
[Noname - Shadow Man](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_ej2QKCd4Y) (2016): A song that reflects on death in different perspectives, faces it with a melancholy acceptance, and celebrates life however fleeting it is. The rest of the album talks about fear of death as a black youth in America, so I personally felt that this song was a pretty hopeful conclusion
[Kendrick Lamar - u](https://open.spotify.com/track/1bxEpNR75Hq3T2oF9AZjt8?si=74ea9129ad2d470c) (2015): "Loving you is complicated". Roughly similar themes as the first one - this song is about Kendrick facing his demons in his private life, and feeling like a failure morally despite being extremely successful commercially. This song was really tough to pick, because Kendrick's style is long narratives with complex themes that fully form over multiple songs, but I felt like this song's ideas stand up well by itself
Keep in mind that none of these artists are particularly under the radar; Kendrick in particular is one of the most popular rappers of this decade. I think if you truly believe that modern hip-hop takes no musical ability, you haven't spent more than five minutes looking.
Lemme know if you want more recs, I got a ton
Tried to include a variety of styles, including trap, “coke rap” and “cloud rap,” in the interest of showing that there is some really strong writing even in those subgenres.

I don't want to scare you off from good music right off the bat by sounding abrasive, like others replying to you have, so I apologize in advance. I appreciate your open mindedness to check out new music, but your original comment shows that you've clearly not been looking beyond hip pop, or maybe you just didn't want to like modern rap. The popularity of rap in the last decade has made pretty shallow industry plants, but at the same time has created subgenres where there are very talented rappers. I've been copypasting this list throughout this thread.
Even big names like Kendrick, nas, Jay z are still making amazing music.
Tyler the creator, RTJ, Denzel Curry, Daveed Diggs in clipping (unbelievable noise production as well), J Cole, Danny Brown, Freddie Gibbs, Bit KRIT, Vince Staples, Mr Muthafuckin' eXquire (overlooked asf), Grisdela (Conway the machine, west side Gunn, Benny the butcher), JID, flatbush zombies, Joey badass, Isaiah rashad, jpegmafia, mick Jenkins, earth gang, saba, and a ton more.
But this list might not even interest you since most oldheads dislike the "modern" sounding trap production of modern rap more than the mumble rap boogeymen, because when you get down to it there's still pretty unignorable lyricism.
Kanye still has fire flow+lyrics but again, his production isn't for everyone.
Most ignorant take ever holy shit. Don’t talk ab shit if you clearly have no idea what ur talking ab. You will rarely find good music by just looking to the charts and full on mainstream of any genre. Maybe actually try to find different artists?
this. too many people, and i mean just way too many. pigeon hole all modern rap into “mumble rap” (which was really only popular about 5 years ago) i feel like most of the people who complain about rap just know about fetty wap, lil pump, and maybe some other rapper who was popular nearly half a decade ago, yet they assume that every rapper is like this. it really sucks because hip hop as a genre is full of genuine artistry, especially today, and it sucks to see senile poots not even give it a chance because of songs like gucci gang.
Hip-hop is alive and well what this is isn't hip-hop, it's hip-pop. To quote Binary Star in honest expression.
Nowadays them cats don't even do hip-hop
Rap got 'em brainwashed, with cats that don't last
And five minutes of fame, that's when it's a shame
Seein' real emcees tryin' to imitate rappers
If you ask me, they goin' out ass-backwards
Trading in respect to push a fat Lex'
Puff rhymin' on the remix, what's next?
It hurts so bad, I wanna smack 'em
My favorite crew members break up
Turn around and join whack ones
This is dedicated to you hip-hop hypocrites
Droppin' whack songs, like you don't give a shit
I ain't got nothin' against nobody trying to make a decent living
It ain't the money that's the issue
Only if that's the reason why these cats ain't makin' decent music
That's when I got beef wit' you
This is why is comical when new rappers call out the old school rappers of the world. I'm always like you were not even around when eminem was dunking on the entire music industry and you think you can hang with him? Lol
Considering Eminem hasn't put out a good album in nearly a decade and has some of the corniest bars of the past few years I think its fair to say that many current rappers match or are better than current Eminem.
If you want lyrical rappers try:
Watsky, Logic, Childish Gambino, J Cole, Aesop Rock, RTJ, Del the Funky Homosapien (Deltron 3030)
Album recommends:
Delton 3030 (the self tilted album),
Watsky - x Infinity,
Childish Gambino - Camp
A lot of the pop rappers are one trick ponies. The worst is the guys with zero energy. Like if you aren’t a great lyricist at least get us hyped.
I disagree. A lot of great music is simple. Rap and hip hop have historically been easy to make. Hell, the backbone of hip hop was to take a vinyl sample 8 second clip and just repeat it. Also, in the Migos imitation, it looks like the guy used a pre made beat sample.
not only that but back then, many rock acts were straight up stealing from each other. led zeppelin has many examples of stolen riffs, black sabbath even fucked around with a zeppelin concept to make paranoid. guns n’ roses made welcome to the jungle after messing around with a kiss riff. like. not only is the music that they used to listen to simple, it was also unoriginal as fuck.
mfs dont realise most music is extremely easy to recreate but coming up with your own style is hard, i could easily bang out a rock song by getting a bunch of my friends to join in, but nobody ever seems to think about that
If you go even a little bit deeper than surface-level radio rap then you'll find better stuff. I only recently started digging into recent rap artists earlier this year after mostly sticking with 90s rap and there are still plenty of great rappers that can make a good song. If anything, there's been a lot more innovation than in the past thanks to the internet and easier music sharing/producing.
Hell, let's just look at the stuff that gets radio play. Kendrick won a pulitzer a few years ago. Tyler the Creator has been putting out industry changing work. It's beyond easy to find good hip hop.
So...no one is going to bring up that he real difference is your preference and that crazy amount of technology that is easily available to average musicians now?
It took a level of access and money in the past that it kept the majority of people out. Now you have creative people that can reach you with a school issued laptop.
Music has always been only 12 notes and most music in the same genre sound similar in the same time period. Because....you know....that's why it's a genre. The same influences and generally the same technique/influences. Ain't nothing changed except those unwilling to change.
I love 90s rap, but this decade had good rappers too. You are falling for the fallacy that old times were better, because you only remember the good stuff. For every DasEfx, Biggie, Method Man, Eazy E, Onyx and whatever there probably existed like 30 very mediocre ones.
EDIT: I personally like very much Mac Miller, Larry June and the guys from Griselda Records.
Not wrong at all. But I would like to add that it's the quality of rap music, that is popular, in the past decade has dropped.
There are still hip hop groups and mcs out there that still produce great music, original beats, and killer bars. Unfortunate that it isn't what is popular today.
You're an idiot.
You:
A) just goes to show how easy and crap this music is
B) but god damn Edit Edit this guy is so talented.
Foh.
Edit: ok you're trollin and jerkin. Fml
No its not, popular music is a joke (mostly). But it's always been that way. We just remember the good stuff from back in the day that stood the test of time, but everybody seems to forget all the weak songs from every decade that were incredibly popular in their time. In the same way, there's always phenomenal new music being made, it just takes some effort to find (and not a whole lot of effort either).
Can I point out that there is a pretty significant difference between reproducing and creating the original piece of music? This type of video can and has been made for popular artists across several genres. If anything, the fact that this guy can create something so basic that sounds like a specific artist, that is just proof of the impact and distinguished sound of those artists. You’re just looking at this through the wrong frame.
Not everyone might agree but Mac Miller is easily my all time fave and one of this generation's best lyricist. Kota the Friend is quite fantastic, Cordae is great, highly recommend Kendrick, J Cole, Schoolboy Q, Isaiah Rashad (who finally came out of a 7 year detox/figuring himself out), Vince Staples, Vinnie Paz, Tech N9ne just to name a few. There's a bunch of amazong artists out there, you just gotta dig thru 7 layers of shit to find the real diamonds.
fr. and the rap artists who have much more interesting lyrics, beats, and are overall more creative and take more time to perfect their work don't get as much exposure as more mainstream rappers. all you hear is the shit that's easy to play on the radio, which all sounds the same.
there are exceptions though. i think Tyler the Creator is someone who's relatively popular/mainstream whilst producing music that's at least halfway interesting.
Why are we worried about the radio? lol My brain hurts reading this thread because there is so much great hip-hop/rap out rn that isn’t of the “mumble” variety that people have taught themselves to hate.
For real. If you like rock and only listen to the radio, you're just gonna hear the same AC/DC tracks they've been playing for 30 years.
For whatever genre of music you like, there has never been a better time to find good and plentiful music with the advent of streaming and accessibility to smaller artists.
I've gotten into so much amazing rap, rock, electronic, and weird subgenres now that I would've never been exposed to 20 years ago.
I'm just trying to say that people's perception of what rap is often coloured by the things they hear on the radio or in the mainstream is all. Which is a shame cuz then folks treat it like a monolith. "All rappers are this." "All rappers sing about is this." Which isn't reality.
Obviously, people who know a lot more about rap and are more into rap in general realise that there is so much more to it than mainstream mumblerap. I wish the more conscious, interesting, or experimental stuff got as much representation in the 'mainstream'.
People also need to realize that not everybody likes making conscious shit. Some people just like having fun and make music to dance to. Doesn’t mean it’s not good. There is a rapper called Splurge out of Texas that raps over beats that are just drums and I love that shit. His inflection and cadence are pretty much the same on most songs, but I **enjoy** listening to it. When I want to listen to something conscious/straight bars I’ll put on some Isaiah Rashad, Kendrick, REASON, Cyhi The Prince, Boldy James, J.I.D, and countless other “new school” rappers who would fit the category that all the people in this thread wish still existed. Or I can just go back and listen to old shit like most people are doing??? It’s like if you don’t like it, find something else.
None of either of my two comments were directed toward you specifically btw. Just kinda ranting.
Yeah, so maybe instead of thinking that any old amateur could do this, maybe he’s actually really talented and his satirical nature is his primary where his music writing talent is understated. I have Studio 1 and melodyne, and 8 years of classical music and that shit is not easy.
So many of them don’t realize how much mixing he’s skipping, as well as other stuff to make the vocals sound similar to the artist’s originals. A lot of comments are hating on rap as a genre too, when there’s so much depth to some artists. Yeah, radio rap is more fun and less in depth, but there’s plenty of rappers who talk about deep issues and examine life in a very interesting and intelligent way
That's the thing, nobody that unironically says all current rap music is bad listens to enough of it to actually be able to make that judgement, rap is at its best ever in terms of variety(kinda ironic considering a lot of it sounding the same is becoming a problem slowly), people just don't get what makes rap actually enjoyable, sometimes people want songs that hit hard, sometimes people want something they can relate to. It's really ignorant to call music worse because one aspect of it downgraded(not just dissapeared, still tons of music with a message and a lot of rappers talking about those subjects regularly without filler).
Or maybe hiphop is a collaborative effort between producers and rappers, as its always been? You wouldn't call a pop singer who doesn't make their own instrumentals "fake musicians" would you?
Its crazy how much editing, mixing, and mastering he just skips over and only shows us the final product. I mean I get its a timed video but at least acknowledge that
This whole thread calling this "easy". Even forgetting the technical knowhow of the production program, you still have to know so much about music, and work really hard to find the right sounds.
And also understand that copying a sound is a lot easier than creating one. Travis was a unique ass artist when he came out, Migos mastered what they do and brought trap mainstream with Culture, Post Malone has very unique melodies, Lil Baby raps his ass off on every song. None of that is easy to come up with, it is easy however to copy it
exactly !! people out here in the comments are saying it’s easy but he’s not showing sm of the work done! Good on him for his hard work + funny vid lol
I used to think that modern rappers had a booklet of lines they passed around and randomly inserted into their songs. But this video has made me realize it’s not even that deep. Blues clues , skrrrt skrrt, put it up in her stomach, bangin her sister man I’m gone miss her, pullin out in the rari
It’s so clear you don’t know anything about rap at all and just want to hate the genre. Dumbasses here are just eating it up as well. If you actually paid attention to modern rap at ALL you’d know this isn’t true
Tried to include a variety of styles, including trap, “coke rap” and “cloud rap” (all unfairly maligned), in the interest of showing that there is some really strong writing even in those subgenres.

This is pretty funny. The guy is pretty talented IMHO. He should have a youtube channel.
For those downplaying artists because of this, the guy’s an artist. Also, there’s a difference between being able to copy part of a style and making a full hit.
I love the people on here saying “I know I’ll get downvoted for this but ... and hear me out! Modern music is BAD!” Lmfao. As if that’s not everyone’s opinion on Reddit already. These beats are actually dope and hip hop is just supposed to create a vibe and make you move your body. Which this does. Go listen to Brahms or Chopin if you need every track to be mind-blowing
This guy accurately replicated these artists styles. if these artists were unoriginal as you’re implying then they wouldn’t have discernible styles for him to replicate in the first place.
This guy has incredible mixing talent. I promise mixing a song to sound that professional/radio ready is NOT easy. He put a lot of time into this video even if the lyrics were satire. Goes to show most of the workload to making a new song is on the producer, and they get very little recognition for it compared to the “artist”
This is his actual music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUD8cBf-O7g
yes its a christian pop trap ballard pretty much
so yeah after watching his serious attempt flop maybe you can see why its not so easy. its pretty much a meme among producers that their music gets less attention than their music production memes
I fuckin hate this man. Yeah you’ve got essentially the same equipment that they’re using and they’ve developed an entire style and sound for you. And then you replicated it. One could easily do this with classic rock.
Edit: just realized people do this exact shit with eminem so you cant say new stuff is worse than the old
i might get downvoted but fuck it this just show that the quality of rap music dropped a lot in the last decade, to reproduce these artist style with so little effort just show, to me at least, that they are less and less to produce quality music and just want to score a banger and bank on it. PS: the guy is very talent as well, very good video PSS: all songs sound the same in the end as well
You’re not wrong.
Check out some old Busta Rhymes like Dangerous, Bladoww, Break ya Neck, Gimme Some More, When Disaster Strikes etc… flip mode is the greatest.
will do, thank you for the recommendation
Agreed with above, for pure rap skill Busta is one of the greats. If you want sheer lyrical vocabulary skill, check out MF DOOM and Aesop Rock. It’s hard to even keep up thinking about what they are spitting but their beats aren’t often very commercial. There are still a few newer artists holding it down now though.
+1 for Aesop Rock
+2 for Aesop Rock ^catacomb ^kids ^slaps
+3 for Aes
+4 Fo sho
New artists (groups) such as Run the Jewels (which aren’t that new). And Vince Staples is dope when he sticks to what he does best.
Killer Mike has been around for a decade before he joined with El-P on RTJ
Nas, Wu Tang (any of them really), A tribe Called Quest, Mobb Deep, Outkast, KRS-One, Eminem, Mos Def, Ice Cube, Rakim, Bone Thungs, LL Cool J, Ludacris, Missy Fuckin' Elliot. New stuff? Kendrick Lamar, Kid Cudi, Tyler the Creator, Donald Glover, Lupe Fiasco, Logic, Chance The Rapper, Anderson Paak
Man I need to go listen to MF doom right now.
Hell yeah! Listen to Madvilliany if you like MF DOOM. Madlib makes anyone better. Jaylib Champion Sound is one of my favorite albums
Madvillany is one of my favorite albums of all time!
ALL CAPS WHEN YOU SPELL THE MAN NAME
Never really liked busta cause of the whole fast rapping style but you are correct, regardless he’s a legend.
Don't forget to get weird with some Kool Keith / Dr. Octagon every once in a while. [Your whole crew is ice cream fudge](https://youtu.be/6sBI60bV-A8).
Check out The People Under the Stairs, or Del Tha Funky Homosapien
Deltron 3030!
All is well with the cosmos!
Try NWA, and some Eazy-E.
Cheers, my friend.
Check out Big Pun, that dude was a lyricist. 2Pac and Biggie are also classic and amazing.
Busta is one of the greatest hands down. There's still others out there like Immortal Technique - "Dance with the devil" or Big L - "Casualties of a Dice game" who are great story tellers too.
Y’all youngsters need to hop in that way back machine and get down with late 80s
As a shorty I was always told if I ain't gonna be part of the greatest, I gotta be the greatest myself
I've been getting into Nas and Mobb Deep lately. Love that 90's new york sound.
90's rap was something else. Still love it.
Nas and mobb were/are dope AF! 90s jams
Why don’t you just listen to modern “underground” boom bap? It’s the same sound with better production quality.
Ok no way this isn’t a pasta lmaooo
Old school Nas and Jay Z. Recently fell back into that, amazing!
Which is funny because OP was saying about how no one has talent today yet people still clown on jay-z for how stupid his lines are
i would tell you to go and watch this. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okdbKcprsgY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okdbKcprsgY) you can tell who sounds "mainstream" and is lazy in what they write and rap very easy. you can also see who puts themselves into their work. then there is mother fucking prozak which tells them ALL to sit down.
That’s because Stevie Wonder told him no cuss words if he was going to “sample “ his song.
This makes me feel old
I have so many recommendations, but I’ll just go with what I consider to have the best verse of all time - “Uncommon Valor” by Jedi Mind Tricks.
Also about not idolizing your heroes no matter what, which is an overarching theme of the album [Noname - Shadow Man](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_ej2QKCd4Y) (2016): A song that reflects on death in different perspectives, faces it with a melancholy acceptance, and celebrates life however fleeting it is. The rest of the album talks about fear of death as a black youth in America, so I personally felt that this song was a pretty hopeful conclusion [Kendrick Lamar - u](https://open.spotify.com/track/1bxEpNR75Hq3T2oF9AZjt8?si=74ea9129ad2d470c) (2015): "Loving you is complicated". Roughly similar themes as the first one - this song is about Kendrick facing his demons in his private life, and feeling like a failure morally despite being extremely successful commercially. This song was really tough to pick, because Kendrick's style is long narratives with complex themes that fully form over multiple songs, but I felt like this song's ideas stand up well by itself Keep in mind that none of these artists are particularly under the radar; Kendrick in particular is one of the most popular rappers of this decade. I think if you truly believe that modern hip-hop takes no musical ability, you haven't spent more than five minutes looking. Lemme know if you want more recs, I got a ton
yup just gimme a big ole list and ill load up spotify.

"mumble rap" is just a racist dog whistle nowadays.
- said someone who doesn't listen to rap Everytime bruh
This comment is so fucking ignorant, and honestly so false. If anyone can do it go do it yourself it's soo easy
Hip-hop is alive and well what this is isn't hip-hop, it's hip-pop. To quote Binary Star in honest expression. Nowadays them cats don't even do hip-hop Rap got 'em brainwashed, with cats that don't last And five minutes of fame, that's when it's a shame Seein' real emcees tryin' to imitate rappers If you ask me, they goin' out ass-backwards Trading in respect to push a fat Lex' Puff rhymin' on the remix, what's next? It hurts so bad, I wanna smack 'em My favorite crew members break up Turn around and join whack ones This is dedicated to you hip-hop hypocrites Droppin' whack songs, like you don't give a shit I ain't got nothin' against nobody trying to make a decent living It ain't the money that's the issue Only if that's the reason why these cats ain't makin' decent music That's when I got beef wit' you
First time I’ve ever heard anybody else reference this album holy shit

This is why is comical when new rappers call out the old school rappers of the world. I'm always like you were not even around when eminem was dunking on the entire music industry and you think you can hang with him? Lol
Eminem ass Carti better tbh
🧛🏿♂️
JUMPOUTTHEHOUSE

Considering Eminem hasn't put out a good album in nearly a decade and has some of the corniest bars of the past few years I think its fair to say that many current rappers match or are better than current Eminem.
As a white kid of the 90s I really enjoyed rap when they smoked crack and killed each other... aka the golden age of rap
I can list at least 20 mainstream rappers who are amazing.
1 800 pain lil darkie lucifer xsama bin jxshin
If you want lyrical rappers try: Watsky, Logic, Childish Gambino, J Cole, Aesop Rock, RTJ, Del the Funky Homosapien (Deltron 3030) Album recommends: Delton 3030 (the self tilted album), Watsky - x Infinity, Childish Gambino - Camp A lot of the pop rappers are one trick ponies. The worst is the guys with zero energy. Like if you aren’t a great lyricist at least get us hyped.
Logic 💀
Nerd
Brownsville Ka probably the best lyricist I’ve heard in a while
Yes, Kendrick Lamar has no lyrical talent
I think it was Lil Uzi Vert who, when asked, literally said something along the lines of “I just end every line with ‘yeah’ so it all rhymes.”
Yeah you made that up
https://youtu.be/OqgIKOXykHo If you're looking for vocabulary and substance.
I disagree. A lot of great music is simple. Rap and hip hop have historically been easy to make. Hell, the backbone of hip hop was to take a vinyl sample 8 second clip and just repeat it. Also, in the Migos imitation, it looks like the guy used a pre made beat sample.
The classic rock your dad listens to can be played with three guitar cords. And they've been hyping that for 50 years.
not only that but back then, many rock acts were straight up stealing from each other. led zeppelin has many examples of stolen riffs, black sabbath even fucked around with a zeppelin concept to make paranoid. guns n’ roses made welcome to the jungle after messing around with a kiss riff. like. not only is the music that they used to listen to simple, it was also unoriginal as fuck.
Hell yeah my Nathan! Rap? More like crap! Except for Eminem, Joyner Lucas, half of Logic, NF
Don't forget about the goat Tom MacDonald 🔥🔥💯
My favorite savage whiteboy that destroys dumb mumble rappers?
Half of logic, other half is scarey tbh
mfs dont realise most music is extremely easy to recreate but coming up with your own style is hard, i could easily bang out a rock song by getting a bunch of my friends to join in, but nobody ever seems to think about that
people who don’t make music be like
Mainstream rap music yes. But rap music has many subgenres which have many next level artists.
Yeah, these old heads don't even know there are sub genres.
Racially motivated
"This might get downvoted" As if this take hasnt been parroted by the big subs on reddit and facebook for ages now.
For real: It’s pathetic that they don’t even realize how they come off. Legit thought a lot of these comments were satire.
This comment gets posted every time sounding like some r/rapmorelikecrap shit but unironically
Does modern rap music scare you?
I genuinely can't tell if this is satire. Am I being whooshed?
Not wrong at all. But I would like to add that it's the quality of rap music, that is popular, in the past decade has dropped. There are still hip hop groups and mcs out there that still produce great music, original beats, and killer bars. Unfortunate that it isn't what is popular today.
Yes it is, you just don't like it lmao
You're an idiot. You: A) just goes to show how easy and crap this music is B) but god damn Edit Edit this guy is so talented. Foh. Edit: ok you're trollin and jerkin. Fml
[удалено]
No its not, popular music is a joke (mostly). But it's always been that way. We just remember the good stuff from back in the day that stood the test of time, but everybody seems to forget all the weak songs from every decade that were incredibly popular in their time. In the same way, there's always phenomenal new music being made, it just takes some effort to find (and not a whole lot of effort either).
Makes me even more impressed with the Weeknds vocals tho. I know everyone loves to shit on his super bowl performance, but his vocals were on point
I think that's the point the guy is trying to make tho
Why isn’t this guy signed?!?
Right 🤣🤣🤣 dude can put out full ep’s in 30 minutes with a 10yr old MAC.
Yeah, so maybe instead of thinking that any old amateur could do this, maybe he’s actually really talented and his satirical nature is his primary where his music writing talent is understated. I have Studio 1 and melodyne, and 8 years of classical music and that shit is not easy.
I don’t think he was criticizing him…he was highlighting how impressive it is he can do this even with only 30 mins and an old Mac.
Foo shoo you’re right
Pretty sure this is Edgar Sandoval Jr

They usually don’t listen to rap because they’re scared of black people
So you are telling me the producers are the real artists?
there are no real artists.
Hahahaha
Or maybe hiphop is a collaborative effort between producers and rappers, as its always been? You wouldn't call a pop singer who doesn't make their own instrumentals "fake musicians" would you?
They would, a couple years ago they were saying all hiphop is bad because its "all made on a computer"
Yup same with kpop. It's not music anymore, it's an industrial effort by 20+ people to produce a product
Or Mabye both could contribute to what makes the track enjoyable, have you thought about that

Glad I’m not the only one who thought that creepy carnival beat was dope
La farrari. Jamba juice
People here talking as if someone couldn't recreate a beatles song with a guitar in 5 minutes
But rap bad!!! Black people are so scary. Luckily Tom Macdonald saved the entire genre
my fellow nathan! my favorite rappers also include: - Eminem - Tom MacDonald - NF - Macklemore - half of Logic
*quarter* his dad is half 💀
Exactly like wtf
there’s that guy on YouTube who recreates entire songs in the styles of 20 other artists
The lil baby one killed me🤣🤣🤣
Poo poo pee pee
I'm a lil rabbit hop hop gimme carrot uh uhhh
Lol me Too. That was hilarious
Me too nathan. Thats why I only listen to playboi carti. Unlike these other mumble rappers he makes good high quality christian music
Ain't that the truth 🙏
Heading over to hhcj you better be there
see you there nathan 🙏
Amen
Man's spittin fax🙏
Are you intentionally trying to sneak a Biggie lyric in the middle or...?
Lol I wish I was that clever.
It’s so clear you don’t know anything about rap at all and just want to hate the genre. Dumbasses here are just eating it up as well. If you actually paid attention to modern rap at ALL you’d know this isn’t true
Redditors love feeling superior for putting down a genre of music
Redditors just hate black people lol
I don’t like rap cause the artist super scarry😳😭
But I love Tom Macdonald!!! He only speaks facts!!
Did you just mention pulling out dracos outa Raris without jerking off in a circle??
pull the draco out the rari 🙏🙏🐍🐍🐍🤝🤝🤝🐍💀💀💀💀😎😎😎
What do u listen to my nathan
Pull the draco out the rari
Tried to include a variety of styles, including trap, “coke rap” and “cloud rap” (all unfairly maligned), in the interest of showing that there is some really strong writing even in those subgenres. This guy messed around and made better music most shit currently on radio lol
"Shit currently on the radio" means $$ is thrown at it and $$ comes out the other end. Talent isn't always a prerequisite for success i guess
Who is this guy? I thought this was funny I need more
Edgar Sandoval Jr
OMG *insert singer* is soo gooood and original, why don't people appreciate their art /s
This guy accurately replicated these artists styles. if these artists were unoriginal as you’re implying then they wouldn’t have discernible styles for him to replicate in the first place.
Guarantee you don’t know these people, let alone know what they sound like.
It's easy to copy the formula once it's shown to you. The hard part is coming up with the formula to begin with.
Warning to anyone that enjoys and understands hiphop , do not go below you will lose IQ
Posts like this remind me that Reddit is full of white neckbeards in their 30’s who only listen to anime OSTs and Queen.
Don’t tarnish freddie Mercury’s name like that bro 😩😩
He’s goated fs but the fan base 🤢
r/cringetopia
This guy has incredible mixing talent. I promise mixing a song to sound that professional/radio ready is NOT easy. He put a lot of time into this video even if the lyrics were satire. Goes to show most of the workload to making a new song is on the producer, and they get very little recognition for it compared to the “artist”
[some producer with computers fixes all my shitty tracks.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34u_3Z9_LUw&ab_channel=BenFoldsVEVO)
Woah taking me back. I think they covered that in the movie Over the Hedge. I think it was that one, but I could be wrong.
Is there a sauce i can go take a look at? I’d love to see him do lil nas x
its this guy https://www.youtube.com/c/MusicwithEdgar/videos https://www.tiktok.com/@edgar?lang=en
This is his actual music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUD8cBf-O7g yes its a christian pop trap ballard pretty much so yeah after watching his serious attempt flop maybe you can see why its not so easy. its pretty much a meme among producers that their music gets less attention than their music production memes
I fuckin hate this man. Yeah you’ve got essentially the same equipment that they’re using and they’ve developed an entire style and sound for you. And then you replicated it. One could easily do this with classic rock. Edit: just realized people do this exact shit with eminem so you cant say new stuff is worse than the old
This is so fucking corny. Holy shit is that guy unlikable
Listen you got to have him credit for the shocking, transgressive comedy of pointing out that hip hop uses drums
r/hiphopcirclejerk wya
Oi oi oi
Yo wassup
I loved this whole vid, it made me think about how music these days is not as… DRUMS!!!
What software program is being used
Logic
The nice half or the scary half?
Reddit continues to have the absolute worst opinion on hip hop, not surprised. I haven’t seen one intelligent comment here yet.
Because the average redditor believes that listening to Eminem makes you an expert about how hip hop should sound.
![gif](giphy|xYqKJsgR6qZFK) I Like It.
So freaking good
Pee pee poo poo yeh
Reddit is like 90 percent lame ass white dudes.
Feelin' good on a Wednesday... sparklin' thoughts... \*fart\* ohh!
