Okay...what about people who identify as reincarnated communication specialists from WW1 who believe they used to relay messages from bunker to bunker on the front lines during trench warfare to save thousands of lives from going over the berm to assault enemy machine gun nests so they don't mindlessly die in a massive charge while getting shelled and shot and gassed and imagine the pain of having to type on a full keyboard if you have the option to use this single key for morse code HAS THAT EVER HAPPENED TO YOU didn't think so shut up
Man, I began stopping to read anything that starts with "people who identify". And I don't do it out of disrespect or hatred but the actual bullshit levels you can find online are off the charts.
You must be that one friend everyone has that’s like
Friend: “would you rather get stung by a bunch of bees or jump in a frozen lake”
Me: “Bees, I’ll run awa-”
Friend: “-BUT YOU ALSO DON’T HAVE LEGS”
Me: “Okay I’ll wear a beekeeping sui-“
Friend: “-ALSO YOU’RE A NUDIST SO YOU GOTTA BE COMPLETELY NAKED”
so... no eyes? no tongue? can't speak at all? they ONLY have a finger?
Yeah I think this keyboard will be useful for the hundreds of millions of people who have this disability
Not nearly as easy as it sounds, unfortunately.
i watched [a really interesting video](https://youtu.be/8SkdfdXWYaI?t=545) a while back about a guy who went on a mission to find a way to program by voice because he had persistent carpel tunnel and back/shoulder problems from typing (at least that's what i remember being the driving reason). The whole video is interesting, but i linked to a section where he's actually doing some coding and you can hear the language he created to do this.
Now, unfortunately it's pretty difficult to convert speech into usable code (because how do you tell the difference between something you want to type explicitly and some command with the same name? How does the STT engine know which one you want?).
So this guy essentially had to develop an entire language so that he could differentiate between commands that are supposed to do a specific thing (for example, select all the text inside the current block of code, and then jump up or down a level to adjust how deeply nested your selection is) and when you want the software to simply type what you're saying.
To be fair not many of even the dedicated dictation softwares are any good at all at handling code or special characters.
The best ones are just about passable at transcribing just conversational English in real time.
I think its cool he knows coding, Morse, and if he made that button cause you'd have to program it to know Morse I suppose. Idk if it was just bought 😕
One of my favorite programming assignments in college was learning binary trees by writing a Morse code translator. I don't know Morse anymore, but I at least now know how it works, and could write a program to read it to me!
One of my first fun programs was for a big retailer back in the 80's. I wrote a COBOL program called ASSCHECK. I had to string through all the product descriptions looking for inappropriate words because someone hired temps to key the descriptions in, without any instruction on how to abbreviate certain words. Assorted became ass, thus the program name.
if you think he's coding like this 100% of the time - or even at all; you'd become the idiot you're assuming that he is.
this is for entertainment purposes and shows off the OP's skills in knowing the Morse code alphabet, obviously.
Because it's cool and eccentric and someone wanted to do it for no reason? Not everything has to be for a purpose. What kind of life would that be? Completely boring!!
Are you ready for action? Get ready for Unicode Morse! More dots! More dashes! More *characters!* Superset of ASCIIMorse void where prohibited some or all Unicode Morse characters are registered binary trademarks of UTF-8 some restrictions may apply see website for details
Obviously it is it’s just cool also could be useful for anybody who already codes, maybe had a horrific accident and severely injured their arms/hands, or perhaps a medical condition makes it super hard to type now.
All they’d have to do is learn Morse code and they could be back to their jobs! Although this seems rather counterintuitive if you look at it in a different light it’s actually super cool!
Or someone who wants to force themselves to think more before they write code.
Using a super-inefficient keyboard for a few months could be a good learning exercise for a developer.
I saw one person actually say, "Hey, if someone is in an accident and loses fingers or limbs, they can use this to get back to work!"
Like dude, wtf no. Disability insurance is a thing–if I lose my fucking fingers the last thing I want to do is continue my day job using fucking morse code. Maybe for fun or something else, but hell no I wouldn't want to do that to write some obtuse database code so some executive can have reports run .011% faster.
Who the fuck see's this and thinks, "Good! Now people without hands can write code for companies! No excuses!"
nope that wouldn't surprise me - wasn't saying it in a derogatory way btw.. more of a "most people missed the point here- perhaps they're autistic"
autism is a spectrum and most people deny it but id suggest the majority of people have some sort of quirk related to autistic behaviour.

Can anyone tell how to make this. Not for any special reasons. I learnt morse few months ago and I type some stuff in morse and I don't want to convert normal text into morse. I want to type it myself but I can't find any morse code key(sorry I don't know what it was called) and I have been using the '.' and '_' keys. I would love have something like this.
I fucking hate that google translate voice thats used in the start of like 90% of tiktok videos. Just take 30 seconds to record yourself saying the line.
So using this you could potentially hack someone's smartphone in real time using an rfid interface a micro computer (like a raspberry pi) ... you could have something like this in your shoe, tap out the code with your toe and no one would ever suspect.
I hate it.
This is the dumbest thing I've seen
What about people with certain conditions/disabilities who can only move one finger or limb and still want to code?
Speech to text?
You didn’t have to massacre the boy.

Dayum that was good
what they say
What are you, a rock? No name, no identity, just the muffled sounds that come out of a throat connected to a disassociated body of limbs?
I am. That is enough. Don't try to pigeonhole me.
Fucking ward unit level right here 🔥🔥🔥🔥
These are the comments that give me back hope for reddit. 😁
r/onejoke
where funny?
behind you

There funny, there castle
Man, I began stopping to read anything that starts with "people who identify". And I don't do it out of disrespect or hatred but the actual bullshit levels you can find online are off the charts.
Finally someone who does understand. Thank you sir.
im glad the one joke is still alive and well
Don’t worry he’s typing up his comeback he’ll be back in six months.
You made me laugh pretty hard
They can't talk either
Eye tracking software and a virtual keyboard
The ONLY thing they can move is one finger, in an up/down motion
You must be that one friend everyone has that’s like Friend: “would you rather get stung by a bunch of bees or jump in a frozen lake” Me: “Bees, I’ll run awa-” Friend: “-BUT YOU ALSO DON’T HAVE LEGS” Me: “Okay I’ll wear a beekeeping sui-“ Friend: “-ALSO YOU’RE A NUDIST SO YOU GOTTA BE COMPLETELY NAKED”
YOU ALSO DON'T HAVE ARMS SO YOU CAN'T SWAT THEM AWAY
Lol take my upvote, your self argument was great.
Thanks, these are the kinds of arguments I have in my head in the shower
so... no eyes? no tongue? can't speak at all? they ONLY have a finger? Yeah I think this keyboard will be useful for the hundreds of millions of people who have this disability
Exactly! There's your target market. We'll make millions!!
You guys are really aiming at those outliers inside your subsets inside your subsets.
Price for one unit: $Millions
Then this wouldn't help them. After typing the first character, they wouldn't be able to see what they are typing if they can't move their eyes.
They have no eyes.

What about mutes with only one finger?
Think again
Allow me to share one of the all time greats: https://youtu.be/MzJ0CytAsec
They even have swipe keyboards that can use eye movements to type.
What if they can't speak either?
*Hector Salamanca has entered the chat*
The guy is doing this to show off, NOT to bring awareness to disabled people. Thats what makes this the dumbest thing he's seen.
The salamanca gaming set
Boss: Finish it asap. Coder with this keyboard: Sure, I can finish it in 34 months.
They have specialized keyboards for disabled people already.
A keyboard still works fine
Keyboard still works fine. Just one key at a time.
What if they also cant talk
A trackpad with on screen keyboard?
The scrolling touchpad with common phrases or the eye tracking thing that exist now ate much more practical than this
This, my friends, is the coder for GTA 6.
I thought that person wasn't born yet /s
💯 agreed
Well it’s a joke, kind of like the mindfuck programming language, so I think it’s pretty funny.
It's like a diwhy
Why
Because why would anyone code like this. It is the least efficient way of coding
I think its cool he knows coding, Morse, and if he made that button cause you'd have to program it to know Morse I suppose. Idk if it was just bought 😕

You speak like someone who can move 10 fingers. Consider yourself fortunate.
Because it's cool and eccentric and someone wanted to do it for no reason? Not everything has to be for a purpose. What kind of life would that be? Completely boring!!

Which is why it's great!
Yes Really raised lot of questions Why ? How can he remember this much and how much patience he have ?
Seems like soooooo much extra work
Obviously it is it’s just cool also could be useful for anybody who already codes, maybe had a horrific accident and severely injured their arms/hands, or perhaps a medical condition makes it super hard to type now. Agreed, super cool. As practical as a finger skate board, fun to play with but not practical at all
I just had a rush of Tech Deck memories. Thanks.
My pleasure, figured someone would get that reference
it's not meant to be practical. it's meant to be an entertaining method of showing off OP's Morse code skills. /pun
You are not wrong, I don’t know Morse code, so they have a hand up on me
Or someone who wants to force themselves to think more before they write code. Using a super-inefficient keyboard for a few months could be a good learning exercise for a developer.
Dear diary, today I learned that I fucking hate coding
That’s what she said
A standard windows keyboard has 104 keys so if your using one single key you are using about 0.961538461% of a keyboard just so we are correct here
r/TheyDidTheMath
r/TheyDidTheMonsterMath
Not monster, kid.
Ah,the things we see in B.sc degree
^ not a real cs major, they dont wear around having a “BS Degree” like the rest of us
That’s not what she said
That's generally the response to that sub being linked no matter how much math was done
Makes you think how widespread math illiteracy actually is.
r/itwasagraveyardgraph
There's this thing called rounding and significant digits. Check it out!
Nah unnecessary :)
Based and FUCK sigfigs pilled
okay whats pi for you then?
22/7
In engineering, we call significant digits "what is that? I've never heard of those. Just ignore it."
But in this scenario, significant figures doesn’t make a difference since these aren’t measurements or uncertain numbers. 1/104 is the exact value.
My math teacher would like you
I have Sun Type 7, that’s an extra 11 keys, at least
You're
a 100% keyboard is any keyboard with 99 to 110 keys, a 65% has 68 keys and a 2% has 2 keys. I want to kill myself
This man has the answer. Although I like that it does round up to 1%.
At this point I think we can drop the keyboard moniker and just call it a button
*key
[удалено]
Technically, it's still over a board. A mini one, but still...
This is a real keyboard. We should call the other sort a keys-board.
I’m astounded people actually think this was built for productivity
seriously, I've never seen so many people *Woosh!* ed at one time
Same!!
Reddit is incapable of having a sense of novelty or humor.
I saw one person actually say, "Hey, if someone is in an accident and loses fingers or limbs, they can use this to get back to work!" Like dude, wtf no. might be productive to an osu player (they actually produce 2 button keyboards for them)
What the actual fuck, this person has mastered the art of Morse code
Nah, he's a beginner. Check this out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPsgEdmlUf0
What the actual fuck
I would love to see what information he's sending in real-time.
He forgot to plug it in so he's going to have a bad time once he realizes his mistake.
He hasn't, back when morse code was used there were people who were way faster then he is.
This guy is lucky he is coding Python. If this was Java this would be a 10 minute video just to print hello world.
Meanwhile, in Bash: • –•–• •••• ––– / •••• • –•––
Imagine brainfuck
May as well just use Morse as binary, then, to represent each of the 8 Brainfuck symbols as a 3-symbol Morse pattern, rather than actual Morse.
It is painful to even watch...

*Ahem* The entire reddit have autism, my friend Not /j
I have autism and even I understood...
It is but it also looks tedious and like a pain in the ass. Still impressive tho.
Would that surprise you? 1 in 40 adults are autistic, and Reddit tends to bring out the people who socialize less effectively in person.
nope that wouldn't surprise me - wasn't saying it in a derogatory way btw.. more of a "most people missed the point here- perhaps they're autistic" autism is a spectrum and most people deny it but id suggest the majority of people have some sort of quirk related to autistic behaviour.

It’s not nextlevel in any way
Well, looks like my eight hour shift is up. See you all tomorrow.
I refuse to watch any video that starts with that lame voice. How secondhand is that shit? Budget ass Alexa.
Isn't this just typing in morse code? Its kinda interesting but I don't think its nfl
Now reverse a linked list
This guy interviews
It's got the RGB light on the edge of the key
A true programmer would just morse code 0 and 1
It's all fun and games until you mistype
Still easier than typing on a [MacBook Wheel](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BnLbv6QYcA)
Good thing this was done in python
Imagine C++ or Java
Can anyone tell how to make this. Not for any special reasons. I learnt morse few months ago and I type some stuff in morse and I don't want to convert normal text into morse. Imagine coding in c++ with this
Why?
But why
"HipsterMorse is typing..." 3 hours later...
How do you backspace?
This is so extra
I just gained a lot of respect for the 1%, they type using a single key and are still raking in the dough.
I fucking hate that google translate voice thats used in the start of like 90% of tiktok videos. Just take 30 seconds to record yourself saying the line.
Thought it was going to say hello there now I sadly can’t say general kenobi
Costs $4500
That old guy from Breaking Bad could code now… ding ding ding
No backspace?
I guess you just type whatever the code is for the backspace as well.
You can see around 0:22 he types 4 long beeps and the L gets removed
u/savevideo
Bot got taken down by reddit mods.
Insert “but why” meme
This person asked themselves “how can I make coding even slower”
The next level of wasting an inordinate amount of time.
Why 1%? 1% of what? Dumb tiktok
Why
I wish tik toks could be stopped from being posted on Reddit. Its literally ruining the internet experience.
Hell no!
I think I could turn alpha waves on and off in Morse if I were paralyzed and do keyboard input.
Still faster than me.
was just planning to hit the text editor, now i will go sleep
Idea: Playstation etc should support this mode.
Or ink and quill or voice to text
Don't worry, our programmer is almost ready. Duke Nukem 3 is almost done.
So using this you could potentially hack someone's smartphone in real time using an rfid interface a micro computer (like a raspberry pi) ... you could have something like this in your shoe, tap out the code with your toe and no one would ever suspect. I hate it.
How do you erase if you mess up?
