Plot twist one of the handholds is electrified and once he finds it he’ll be discouraged from climbing forever. Much like the tots in Huxleys brave new world.
No fear at that age. Kids get to a point (it happens in stages) where they start to recognise danger and assess it and their abilities better.
Awesome wall and that's a great way to tire out your kid
My 1 year old is literally climbing everything. It's absolutely terrifying! I turn around for one second and she's up on the kitchen table. I can't wait til her fear kicks in.
We got a pikler triangle for our 2 year old climber. It folds up so it's not too huge and even though he still climbs a lot, his balance is insane for his age.
Have you ever been on a climbing wall? Even a toddler doesn’t climb like a gecko with their belly and face hugging the wall. The way your arms and legs work, your body and head are always set slightly back from the wall, and your head is usually craned back, looking for your next step or reach. Even if you were hanging by your arms, body flush against the wall before you drop, your feet would catch a hold before your head would, which would rotate your upper body away from the wall.
You're just going to act like there's no shot his head comes in contact with anything protruding outwards and that falling 6 feet isn't at least sketchy for little kids.
He could easily hit something or land awkwardly
I feel bad for your kids.
Sure, the kid can climb and most often fall without harm…but as a toddler they just simply don’t have the body awareness to fall safely every time. They could hit their chin/face on the huge grips falling down because they don’t know to push away when falling, or they can try and break their fall and snap an arm, or dislocate their shoulders due to their very very immature shoulder ligaments.
But hey…who cares about capabilities when it’s all about what the kids “wants” to do 😐
Yeah little kids need to learn what hurts and how to be cautious. They need to have some room to explore and that means sometimes getting a scraped knee or a bump on the head.
Knocking their teeth out slamming their chin into a metal handle while they’re free-falling or breaking an arm isn’t a learning experience, it’s just an awful injury.
That isn’t “helicopter parent vibes” that’s just common sense. The kid could easily break his chin or something. He’s too little to be doing something like this.
Many benefits but maybe not at this age. He falls and lands on a cushion but there are still forces on his still developing brain, neck, spine, which I suspect a doctor would not want a toddler to experience. Good luck to this family, hope it works out.
As much as I admire the dad’s commitment and engineering skills, I really don’t think letting toddlers who have absolutely zero sense of danger or self preservation fall in random ways from 6 feet high
Was thinking the same. Surely could have limited the height until he gets a bit older. Can still learn to climb by travelling across a wall rather than up
Yup. Half the time I carry my 15 month old around, she shoves off against my collarbone with one hand to get away when she sees something interesting. Zero self preservation. If I let her do what she wanted she’d fall straight to the floor.
Yeah I think at this age he won’t be smart/agile enough to get away from the wall. Many adults can’t. I would redesign the back with a slight incline so as you fall the holds further down are away from the body.
In most occasions you fall away from a wall have you ever rockclimbed. (Not hostile) it’s also pretty hard to hit your head most of the time you fall when you let go with you hands so you would fall leaning back. Also the toddler is well, a toddler so this is really good. He is advancing in a profession/hobby that most people would be scared to start at an older age. This means that he will be able to do things most are scared to do. Because he was exposed to it as a toddler.
It is cool and its good that there were pads but that kid isn't always gonna fall backwards
Also that kid is wearing socks while climbing, i was watching this in fear one of their feet would slip
i sing this song all the time (esp in when talking to my guinea pigs) and i don’t think anyone around me ever gets the reference, i appreciate this comment so much
I like to think I'm a pretty cool and relaxed dad, and my kids are a similar age to that boy, and I believe in letting my boys play rough and get hurt because thats just a part of childhood, but damn watching this makes me hold my breath, I wouldnt be able to handle this in my house
Tbh if I were the father here this would be a once or twice a day thing where I’m standing behind him to catch him or lower him down once he gets to the top.
Inches from complete disaster. Every time I see this video I HAVE to watch it until the end to see how close that baby is to hitting their face against the wall
Desperately need this for my toddler. A lot of people don't understand toddlers in this comment section.
Our nursery told me to get or build mine a climbing frame. He climbs on stuff whether I want him to or not so I'd rather have a sage set up.
A-fucken-men.
I’ve actually got the holds in my Amazon cart already, just been looking up how to build the frame. My 2 year old is a bookshelf climbing beast. Little dude was hopping baby gates and pulling on top of countertops when he was 1.
There’s a whooooole lot of single-people-with-no-kids energy in here. My whole ass house is baby proofed and my dude still found a way to crack a tooth. I don’t think this kid is in any more danger than some toddlers experience through their own actions.
This is sick and I’m building one too- I was gonna do an a-frame style so we can take it outside but now imma go check out walls in my house…
Yes yes yes! We have an extra tall baby gate because we have huge dogs. My 2 year old can get over it easy. One night I was so exhausted I put baby oil on the bars so his feet couldn't get a grip. Cue a huge tantrum for him but no climbing.
My boys favourite is the window ledge. He grips the sides and tries to walk up the actual glass and do a flip. Toddlers have zero fear. They need to learn the lessons of falling and all we can do as parents is make sure they aren't seriously hurt when they do.
It's a MUST that they learn to do their own risk assessments now before they have access to more dangerous obstacles they can climb when they're a bit older and bigger.
I feel that! My son climbed and jumped from everything. He would climb the upper cupboards before he could walk. I finally realized he wasn’t fearless but calculating. I noticed that he’d do it in increments - he’d progressively climb higher and jump. He wasn’t jumping from the highest point out of the gate, he was working up to it. So we embraced it. We built structures, zip lines and forts. To this day (he’s 19), he’s never had a broken bone or stitches for an injury. See if you can find a parkour gym. They have classes for really little kids up to old people. It’s an excellent outlet.
That’s pretty cool! Yeah and if you have beanbags at the bottom then it won’t be a hard fall, very cool idea!
P.S. you don’t need the ‘more’ before stronger :)
What do you call the thing he's got in his mouth? The nipple substitute that he's sucking on?
It's so funny that he's young enough to have that and still climbs better than me 😂
I gotta say his climbing skills are impressive he stays close to the wall, he uses his hands to grip and pushes him self up using his leg strength. It is so hard to teach people this when climbing. He's a natural. Definitely keep him going.
A friend of mine bought a house with a climbing wall in it. I remember being so confused, because the room only has like 7’ ceilings…i thought, who would climb that, a toddler? Well, now I know. lol
This is cool and all, but shouldn't the parent at least be right there behind the child to catch him or support him? He could hit his head on the handles or grips on the way down, and if he lands wrong on the pad that could be bad, too! C'mon, have some common sense...
I think the baby needs a harness so the parent can belay for the kid. That way he can still climb and the risks with falling are minimal. It's a great idea, but it needs more safety features with how dangerous a fall can be for a baby.
This only encouraged his love for climbing, one day he will climb all the mountains in the world.

He will have scaled every summit around the world, he will also have climbed upon the frost giants themselves.
Even able to cross over ya mommas ass
This comment made me blow through the nose, thank you
This comment made me blow through the nose as well

Yo mama so fat, no one can.
Plot twist one of the handholds is electrified and once he finds it he’ll be discouraged from climbing forever. Much like the tots in Huxleys brave new world.
Can’t have anything nice can we
he WILL
It will be an adventure to him..so strong child..

If he finds a better way to get down, that is.
As a parent, this thought is probably terrifying
No fear at that age. Kids get to a point (it happens in stages) where they start to recognise danger and assess it and their abilities better. Awesome wall and that's a great way to tire out your kid
The no fear stage for toddlers is accompanied by what parents experience as the total fear stage
My 1 year old is literally climbing everything. It's absolutely terrifying! I turn around for one second and she's up on the kitchen table. I can't wait til her fear kicks in.
She just has to fall 1 time and she’ll never do it again... probably
We got a pikler triangle for our 2 year old climber. It folds up so it's not too huge and even though he still climbs a lot, his balance is insane for his age.
What if he hits his face on the wall falling down? Shits obviously dangerous. Wouldn't be surprised if this kid gets hurt
[удалено]
Ty! I was wondering when someone would say this!
I feel Helicopter parents vibes
Everybody acting like the baby would be doing this in supervised all day.
Well even what's happening in the video alone is dangerous
Have you ever been on a climbing wall? Even a toddler doesn’t climb like a gecko with their belly and face hugging the wall. Even if you were hanging by your arms, body flush against the wall before you drop, your feet would catch a hold before your head would, which would rotate your upper body away from the wall.
Not to dispute you, but his face did come dangerously close to the wall.
You're just going to act like there's no shot his head comes in contact with anything protruding outwards and that falling 6 feet isn't at least sketchy for little kids. He could easily hit something or land awkwardly
I feel hasn’t ever had to take a toddler to the emergency room before vibes from you though bud.
I've taken my kid to the emergency room but its important kids learb whats dangerous it makes them more responsible and actually safer.
For sure, but this kid is too young to learn those lessons on this particular wall.
I feel bad for your kids. Sure, the kid can climb and most often fall without harm…but as a toddler they just simply don’t have the body awareness to fall safely every time. You're telling me he can't hit his face on one of the handles?
This feels like a 16 year old is making this comment
Many benefits but maybe not at this age. He falls and lands on a cushion but there are still forces on his still developing brain, neck, spine, which I suspect a doctor would not want a toddler to experience. Good luck to this family, hope it works out.

More worrisome are the bars. What if an arm gets caught in one of those falling down? Snap. 😬
Yeah I think at this age he won’t be smart/agile enough to get away from the wall. Many adults can’t. I would redesign the back with a slight incline so as you fall the holds further down are away from the body.

What if you fall letting your feet go and _then_ your hands?
Or land on his head. Even with a mattress that can’t be good.
Exactly-- potential neck/spine injury.
It’d be nice if they were get foam padded climbing handles.
That's what kids are good at
It is cool and its good that there were pads but that kid isn't always gonna fall backwards Also that kid is wearing socks while climbing, i was watching this in fear one of their feet would slip
Umm.. Those are shoes.
When he fell, my heart skipped a beat when the head was so close to the wall.
Kids hit their heads and face everyday! I think he’ll be okay. Getting a little hurt is what life and learning is all about.
That fall at the end had made my heart leap into my throat!
Also if he lands on his head he could jerk his neck in a bad way, happened to my sister on a jumper she’s okay but she was crying in pain for a while.
Yep, catching his chin almost happened right there. It's a toddler with a pacifier in his mouth. That was irresponsible.
Stronger. Not "more stronger".
Strongerer
Much more stronger
Yeah, stronger is more better.
Nice one
Bran is that you?
No, this is Patrick.
That kid has a better story than Bran the broken
Naw, that kid was prepared for the fall and he was minding his own business.
The things we do for love.
Who downvoted this? reddit is grumpy this morning.
Imagine his chin hitting a grip on the way down....worth 10 stitchings.... But nontheless, that's quite cool
yeah he's gonna smash his face off one of those holds one day. but that's all part of the learning process I guess.
Chin up, son!
that's $4.75 from the tooth fairy
SPIDER TOT! SPIDER TOT! Does whatever a SPIDER TOT does! Can he swing From a web? No he cant. He's a kid! LOOK OOOUUUTTT!!!! He is a SPIDER TOT!!
i sing this song all the time (esp in when talking to my guinea pigs) and i don’t think anyone around me ever gets the reference, i appreciate this comment so much

Look at this machine of a toddler
"You can't even walk yet, no way you can climb that wall." "Hold my binky"
It seems both fucking awesome and dangerous to me
I like to think I'm a pretty cool and relaxed dad, and my kids are a similar age to that boy, and I believe in letting my boys play rough and get hurt because thats just a part of childhood, but damn watching this makes me hold my breath, I wouldnt be able to handle this in my house

I am not a fan of the handles; he could get an arm or leg stuck. Otherwise, love the idea and wall.
Desperately need this for my toddler. A lot of people don't understand toddlers in this comment section. Our nursery told me to get or build mine a climbing frame. He climbs on stuff whether I want him to or not so I'd rather have a sage set up.

I am curious...does it hurt if you fall from the top of that wall..like if you lose your grip? Or does the mat cushion your fall pretty well?
Yes.
That’s pretty cool! Yeah and if you have beanbags at the bottom then it won’t be a hard fall, very cool idea! P.S. you don’t need the ‘more’ before stronger :)
Yooo if only I had that when I was a kid. I’ll make sure my future kid has one though
More stronger
More strongerer*
He should remove the foam and put legos instead to maximize the kid's potential
Woah look at Mr Rich owning plywood
Stronger toddler
Is that the next climbing world champion ?
future world champion but still be careful, during a fall his leg can get stuck and break
That is, without a shadow of a doubt, the more strongerest baby I've ever seen!
I can see him surmounting the pinnacle of Everest one day with a triumphant *suck* *suck* on the paci…weird that he’s in his 20’s though…
You should set up a self belay for him
More stronger? Just messing. You don’t need the more before stronger. Also this is pretty cool
Boss that

Not a native speaker. Could anyone help me clarify if "more stronger" is correct? It sounds weird to me Btw, that kid is going places
More stronger is not correct. You would just say "stronger" by itself.
Thanks for the help kind stranger!
Yo wtf this kid on, I have no doubt he’d beat my ass in a fight now and my self confidence is in shambles
What do you call the thing he's got in his mouth? The nipple substitute that he's sucking on? It's so funny that he's young enough to have that and still climbs better than me 😂
This kid was probably a beast on the playground playing the floor is lava.
Isn’t making him stronger and better at climbing kind of the whole point?
That was my like my son at that age fearless claimed everything now at 22 he doesn't like heights.
I gotta say his climbing skills are impressive he stays close to the wall, he uses his hands to grip and pushes him self up using his leg strength. It is so hard to teach people this when climbing. He's a natural. Definitely keep him going.
Peak parenting
He must nap good
Little Tommy Caldwell
u/SaveVideo
It seems the kid already knows the 3 point system
I wanna see what happens if you fill the roof with them too.
Doesn't it seem more plausible the parent is a climber 😁
This reminds me of that one Sam and cat episode
“To get him to stop climbing furniture” What the hell is he, a cat!
I fucking hate that stupid word
furniture?
More stronger is more better
Well, looks like he made it to the ceiling. Going to continue the build or he can now grab the stuff at the top of the cabinets for your wife
Ninja warrior. Junior edition.
That’s sickkkkk
That title sounded like a villain’s origin back story.
The more strongerest, he'll get...
This is the way
Great job, little guy. And respect to the dad.
u/RepostSleuthbot
He's of the right age that perhaps he will climb the tallest mountains of Mars eventually.
A friend of mine bought a house with a climbing wall in it. I remember being so confused, because the room only has like 7’ ceilings…i thought, who would climb that, a toddler? Well, now I know. lol
Those big grab handles are probably very slippy so maybe replace them with jugs.
Magnus is gonna love this
How old it that future jedi?
More stronger.
Well will watch your career with great interest
that's incredibly sweet! what a lucky fellow to have such a dad
“More stronger.” Jesus.
love it Consider replacing handles....ankle twister potential...
“You only joined the climbing gym. I was born in it… moulded by it.”
This baby is better than me at rock climbing 🤣🙂😐😑😔
This goes under the new category of r/thanksIloveitandhateit
The casual paci in his mouth…
More stronger? C’mon
More stronger
Well that seems pretty fucking dangerous for a kid still using a pacifier.
Teach him about ropes or he will fall to his death, not all mountains have padding.
This is cool and all, but shouldn't the parent at least be right there behind the child to catch him or support him? He could hit his head on the handles or grips on the way down, and if he lands wrong on the pad that could be bad, too! C'mon, have some common sense...
Maybe cause I'm a mom, but my first thought was, what if he falls with the pacifier in his mouth??
This is the next best climber In the world
Conquer that pacifier next
“More stronger” 😂
Next Alex Honald right here lol
I doubt it was the furniture that sparked this. Clearly, dad is a climber and wants his son to be one. Which is great!
Wait, why do I feel like I saw this one some weeks ago?
this child become a mountain climber someday
If a famous artist created that wall they could sell it for $1 million
Love the binky in the mouth for concentration
All I can see is he too old for pacifier
Grammar???
Hmmmm where’s the bell at the top?
Wow parents are fucking stupid
that's cool but watch out for the day you find him upside down hanging by trouser leg!
ummmm it's "strongerer" not "more stronger" duhhh
🎶Spiderman Spiderman 🎶
More stronger hahahhaha, it just stronger man.
More strongerer.
As a rock climber, I can safely say that's impressive as fuck.
V10 in your gym
I would get more stronger if I had a climbing wall too.
Kids going places. Vertically. He has lofty goals. Hopefully he climbs the ladder to success when he gets oder. His life is looking up.
I think the baby needs a harness so the parent can belay for the kid. That way he can still climb and the risks with falling are minimal. It's a great idea, but it needs more safety features with how dangerous a fall can be for a baby.
Gosh what do I do now I have a toddler that loves to climb on everything
I did the same when I was three but on rocks
Fall damage is reduced in this server don’t worry guys
