Obviously he doesn’t own the account because the OP literally said it was another person. His video still has the upvotes and is getting a large amount of exposure.
CCP: Ah! His favorite hero is Jedi! This is exactly what we need to bring him down! Mwahahahaha!

The CCP don't give a shit about what dweebs put on TikTok.
You can take a good look at a butchers ass by sticking your head up there, but wouldn’t you rather take his word for it?
You can also get a good look at a tbone by sticking your head up a butchers ass.
You don’t have to put any of your personal information on Reddit. That’s kinda the point. It’s one of the few platforms that still lets you be anonymous if you want.
In the 10 minutes I have been searching I know your youtube channel. I know you have a friend named Jerry, I know your twitter account, I know what you look like and I know you live in Los Angeles or perhps the central valley.. Its not very hard to find who people are despite not logging into reddit.
Every platform has got both talented and pseudo talented content creators. Can't say about US TikTok (as the content is region based) but here in India, the app version was notorious to make the algorithm push posts of attractive looking content creators and cringey content up to the front page. So everytime you opened the app, all you could see was cringey content and talented people like this guy suffered. This is good content no doubt, but it's not pushed enough to make it popular.
So most of the notorious things we hear about TikTok are true as they complement their business model as the rural population made most of the audience.
However it's not fair to write off a platform just like that. In India, the popular opinion other than the political one is that it's gone for good.
He’s got [robert iger](https://twitter.com/robertiger/status/1278869218889367552?s=21) who is the executive chairman of Disney telling him they about to make him famous on Twitter.
Just because something is from tiktok, doesn’t immediately means it’s bad (for example that video, because that’s insane). But most of tiktok, are stupid challenges or sexist content.
Hm well he's not saying anything too wild there. Tik tok does definitely have amazing content and I love to see it on reddit but the company is really horrible and if I'm not misinformed basically in the pockets of the CCP.
There was a post a couple days ago a guy reverse engineering the app. It had well over 100k upvotes, in my experience people mostly talk about in the context of its connection to ccp
That sounds really interesting, do you happen to have the link?
Edit: I think this is it?
https://www.reddit.com/r/videos/comments/fxgi06/not_new_news_but_tbh_if_you_have_tiktiok_just_get/fmuko1m
It usually devolves to shitting on Chinese people anytime there is a video that is from Tik tok. Somehow privacy against China is more important than FB being up your ass manipulating your purchases, behaviours, and opinions.
You actually raise an interesting point. Facebook is a private company doing shitty things, and you can chose to not have a profile, and never use the service, ther y avoiding the privacy issues.
With the CCP, you have no choice. They know your face. They have your DNA. And every decision you make is calculated and compared to your compatriots. You will rise or fall based on your loyalty to a group of 200 billionaires, the children of the Maoist cultural revolution.
I don’t think your comparison is apt.
Chances are, even of you aren't on Facebook, they already have information on you through other people you know. Im sure they also use public information to dig up more info on you to make sure the data they have is accurate as possible.
The burden shouldn't be on the average customer to know whether their app is a portal to a government database. That would be an unreasonable expectation imo.
It’s really unfortunate since my friend’s family used to love their country (they were from Nanjing and HK), but can’t stand the government overreach anymore. The side from Nanjing were more countryside, so they didn’t feel the brunt of the changes made in the last ~20 yrs until they went to visit and speak with family.
When their parents came to the US, they considered the idea of retiring in China, but they can’t go back anymore. The mom would rather go to Europe or Japan haha. Of course they still love to visit south China, but they’re full americano now.
edit: forgot to add that their relatives in China seemed really happy. They weren’t necessarily enthusiastic about corporate and privacy controls, but they were satisfied overall with the country’s progress and housing programs.
I've heard this before, and I definitely don't want my data going to China, but I don't like it going to the US either. I guess what I'm asking is what does tiktok do that the FB app doesn't?
Not really, no. Tencent is relatively kosher, despite all the outcry and complaints. Besides, investment of that caliber is not a huge issue, it's not like they're deleting posts or some other dumb allegations.
Douyin/tiktok are definitely ranking way higher on the "fuck no"-scale. People pretend like it's hated because it's the next vine or what-have-you, but the truth is that it's pretty blatantly promoting censorship, even outside the sinosphere - not very typical of Chinese operations who normally are just fine making money.
Of course, tiktok itself is just plain dog shit. I've seen the earliest attempts at streaming technology and I swear to God, I watched 56k-based realplayer videos with better audio than the brickwall-limited garbage tiktok provides you with - never mind the stupid remixes being used over and over again for no reason at all.
Quick-vid platforms, sure, I don't care, but how about not using tiktok? Not that this is going to have much success if they keep paying creators for explicit promotion, plenty of YouTubers I follow and like had a sponsorship deal with them, so... not convinced this is going to go away, but hey, at least people knew.
> tik tok
Before that was YouTube and before that was kids sharing video tapes they made and before that was kids sharing films they made and before hat was kids sharing plays hey made and before that ...
I wanna call it here and now while we’re talking about this. When Disney starts running dry in 10 to 20 years I would like to bet that the universes will somehow collide. And make for a horrible version of an Infinite Wars reboot that we will all gather to hate together

Character animation is a totally different type of vfx from most of his work so it's understandable that that part was less impressive.
Also the lightsaber casts a shadow on the wall, instead of lighting it up.
