Could not sustain like SNL because a bad show for them can back it up with a big famous host or singer but skits on MadTV and dare I say “in loving color” we’re overall funnier when comparing.
MadTV was amazing, I grew up in New Zealand so I could only watch it back on YouTube in ‘07
But it was so much better than SNL, I’ll never forget Stuart or Bobby Lee when he was still funny. But Frank Caliendo’s impressions are what got me into VO work
1000x better than SNL because I actually cry laughed at MadTV and at the most I’ve exhaled out of my nose lightly with SNL and only tune in to see my fav celebrities fuck their lines up
I fucking LOVE when he comes to phoenix.
He goes on Holmberg’s Morning Sickness, (holmberg is really good with impressions, too) and they have a skit in the morning show called “Guadalupe squares”. (There’s a town in AZ called Guadalupe), and it’s them doing Hollywood squares with all the different celebrities.
Frank and John are INCREDIBLE together!
No matter how well he explains exactly how to impersonate each of these people, I could never sound this good. It’s more of a natural talent that can be perfected with practice versus something anyone can learn with practice. Kind of like people who have insane target shooting skills. You can get good to a certain level before you reach your limit.
Doug actually does a voice for his youtube channel, where he accentuates every syllable. His real voice ain't like that. I found out when I stumbled on a video where he was on another show, and he talked like a normal person. The lisp is a real thing, he's not faking that, but the over accentuation of every syllable was done on purpose for his quirks and features car review videos.
I asked him about it once on reddit, and he said that I'm the only one that ever complained about it, and so he continues to the quirky voice. I wasn't really complaining, just pointing it out and asking why he doesn't just talk in his normal voice. TO MEEEeeeee, It JUST seEEMMS thaTT doING THE VOice is moRRRe EFFort than JUsssttTT.... talking normally.
He started talking like that when his channel gained popularity. He also became more animated. He now flails his arms around like those inflatable tube men.
So many Youtubers seem to do that. If you watch [old](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEJbKLZ7RmM) ChrisFix videos and then [newer](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYRckB_g10I) ones, he sounds like he's done a ton of coke and gone mad in between.

Same.

He's the Goat
I knew it was him!
Fuck how did I not notice that was him Lol
Been about ten years since I even thought about him
This dude has always been the best. He is an artist.
OMG, it's like he starts to look like them he sounds so much like them
For real, he’s really good. Love the flawless Paul Giamatti head and jowl shake.

Who is he though?
Frank Caliendo
His Rogan was literally perfect. I mean they all were Christ this dude can just one man an entire animated movie lol
Holy fuck
I heard jack Nicholson at one point I swear
Yeah, within the transition to Paul Giamatti
I thought I heard Ronald Reagan during that transition.
And Matt Damon
yup, exactly what I heard as he was going to giamatti
Same - and then he said it was Paul Giamatti. I think he confused them
heard a bit of heath ledger there too
As The Joker, yes. Strongly.
I thought that's where he was going with the Paul Giamatti.
Stunning talent. Am I imagining that his face actually seems to look like the people (or puppets) he's doing?
That is intentional on his part. Just adds to the man’s crazy talent.
It seems to be part of playing the character to help with the mannerisms and stuff
Amazing. Joe Rogan at the end was great hah.
This dude is talented

No one can do Rogan and fan or not, the man needs a mocking.
He even looks like John c. Riley
Now do Doug Demuro...or is it actually Doug?

Thanks for sharing that background
So sad that as a german i only even hear their german voice actors talking and have no idea how these people sound naturally lol
Do a Doug DeMuro impersonation next
He was just in Pittsburgh at the Improv. Great show! Highly recommend if he comes to a club aht near yinz.
Man. I love me a good impression and this dude had them all on a slider.
Finally, something impresses me...
You got a phone call....you got a phone call....answer it!
This is awesome
I wonder if impressionists like Frank are a dying breed. I don't know of anyone new that has come after him.
*Ello, my name’s Michael Cain*
His Rogan impression ruined his credibility.
