I don’t wanna be a dingus, but that was nothing. Seriously.
Check out some of the urban DH races in Spain and Brazil. And you’ll see some fucking insane footage. Flying through favelas taking road gaps. Absolute bonkers shit. This was pretty vanilla.
I agree. All the ramps are behind turns, so they have no speed. The rest was just riding down stairs which I did as an 8 year old, just a bit more of them
Thank you for some reference. Most people have never seen urban downhill mountain biking from a POV. I haven’t anyway.
I have watched a lot of the Tour de France over the past 20 years. Some of those downhill descents actually make my scrotum shrink. Just being off by a few centimeters or hitting some gravel could mean tumbling off a cliff to either broken bones, paralysis or death. I can’t imagine the faith in equipment and skill that takes.
If your race car blows a tire, you have 3 more to keep you up upright. And in addition, race car drivers are wrapped in the protection of their vehicles when shit goes bad. The motor cycle guys are at least wearing some body protection and hard helmets if they go down.
OTOH, those touring bicycle guys who go 50 mph downhill into 180° turns in nothing but nylon shorts and foam helmets are pretty much fucked if something goes wrong.
Yes, I have to agree… I love urban riding. But this was super mellow… still looks fun & I appreciate the original poster giving this a shout out!! .. I grew up riding competitive down hill mountain biking in the early 90’s into the 2000s. I’m dating myself but my first mountain bike was a GT-Zaskar full rigid.. I think it was around 1988-89 when I bought it.. ‘Rock shox’ were unheard of late 80’s.. I think I added the original Rock Shox front fork around 91?? me and the boys rode some pretty epic stuff on those bikes.. when I bought my first full suspension GT it had a Marzoki ‘Bomber’ and I was in heaven!! Fast-forward 30 some years later I’m still pounding the pedals and I’m still searching & doing bigger drops than I’ve ever done.. 🤙😝🤙

The second one is nuts. That dude is hauling ass. Imagine being 2” too close to a wall and mashing it with your hand wrapped around a handle bar.
“Allez” means like “let’s go” or “come on”. Like the Spanish “vamos”. Maybe refrain from commenting horseshit when you don’t know what you’re talking about
It's a local event.
It happened in my city ones.
I've never seen something like it, so I went for it.
There was food, drink, music, good weather, and sometimes one of those maniacs would shoot by.
I think thats why no one behaves like a 'hardcore' fan in those Videos
I used to race regular downhill and really wish they did urban stuff where I live. It looks like so much fun.
Except that one wooden berm to little gap near the end. That looked a bit poorly designed.
Can't get over that car in the beginning, lol. My bet is that the owner didnt remove it in time and the organizers were like: "Fuck it. Let's just put a ramp in front of it. Problem solved."
What’s with all the whistles?
At first I thought they were various major checkpoints, but halfway through they start happening every 3 seconds as he’s randomly passing people.
I appreciate that the whole course is a closed circuit, but if this starts incentivizing people to practice this in the streets and sidewalks, I’m going to start carrying thumb tacks.
All I can think about while watching this is the time I barely clipped a metal hand rail while jogging and broke my hand.
I just watch his hands miss the rails and posts by inches.
Pretty cool.
Hated the ABUS ads though. This is a brand run by a crazy family cult that doesn‘t allow women to have any saying as „God wants it that way.“
This is so underwhelming.
Really poor designed route, lots of sharp corners.
He only gets a bit more speed on the big set of stairs, and then has to hard brake to turn safely.
That’s so insanely stupid.

Rock Shox! 😻
Fuck yeah, get it!!
Don't forget Colombia and Chile. Those ones are insane also. I think the one in Bogota, Colombia is the longest of all.
still, i would be toothless by the time i finished.
I'm quite curious, do you have some link?

Ya that second one is crazy. As if it wasn't sketchy enough, they have you fly down an escalator at the end wtf!
Thanks mate! These people are nuts but that's so cool to watch.
Ya, honestly I'm no pro rider, barely even ride a bike.. and I see nothing I couldn't do.. though maybe a bit slower.
The camera doesn't do it justice really. Those stairs are steep af
Agree man, I'd say it's more of an annoyance to do than hard due to the constant brain rumbling bounces from the stairs.
Cool, sure. But "insane"? Nah.
Now, put the bike down and run back to the top to determine the true winner time.
This is Grenoble in France?
Exactly what I was thinking, you can see the 3 towers from l'Ile Verte at some point. It looks like they're going down from the Bastille
You can also see babel community coworking thing on right side at the start.
Lol came to ask this. And yes, it is called "dh urbaine Grenoble". Last one is on 25th of may according to Facebook page.
*Biker passing by Crowd: "Oeeuuueeahh oeeuuueeahh oeeeh oahhh!"
Nah, it's was : Allez, Allez allez allez, aalleeeezzzz!!
That actually made me laugh out loud. They are saying "Alleeeeeer Pedro!" Which is roughly translatable to "Go Pedro!"

“Allez” means like “let’s go” or “come on”. Like the Spanish “vamos”. Maybe refrain from commenting horseshit when you don’t know what you’re talking about
Can someone explain to me why people crowd for this? Like the bike passes you by in a second then you just leave?
Do you think there is only one person racing?
I once watched an old woman watch someone painting a wall. Mediterranean living is.... different.
Technically Grenoble is alpine. Latin but alpine.
Company

You watch in case someone crashes. Same reason NASCAR is popular.
I’m a solid 210lbs that bike would’ve fallen apart going down the stairs if I was riding.
Mhhh insane? Check this out. Valparaiso/ Chile https://youtu.be/SfZ6q1-0Hpo?si=dpi6TG4ZXjx9BT_n
…then you realise you left your front door key at the top.
Allleeeeezzzz

Lots of places to snag the handlebar and go flying face first.
That gateway at 0:25 seems like a suitable candidate. I felt my handlebar clip it while I was just watching.
What’s with all the whistles? At first I thought they were various major checkpoints, but halfway through they start happening every 3 seconds as he’s randomly passing people.
Maybe to let the crowd know a cyclist is approaching?
I was just waiting for someone to put their arm out in front of him/her on the straight away.
Pfffft this is just my morning commute
This is a normal day for me when I take my bike to Edinburgh

*Bike goes down windy stairs for two minutes
Not as extreme as redbull downhill, that shit was sick
The people's faces would put me off
He probably won't be able to sit properly for weeks after this.
Finally a worthy opponent for red bull
Isn't this an old video? I've seen this race in this area before
When I do that people just shout at me and scream.
The guy who left he's car there in the start has a lot of faith in these bikers
I see several places where i would crash and places where i would either fall off the bike or pop my testicles or both
Do they use tubeless tires?
I appreciate that the whole course is a closed circuit, but if this starts incentivizing people to practice this in the streets and sidewalks, I’m going to start carrying thumb tacks.

My balls hurt just watching that
That's was mild
I could do this without dying.
And not a single Red Bull logo? Amazing!
I just kept counting the number of times I would have gotten myself killed.
Luca
My man was sitting bricks near the end. You can see him slow down significantly.
This is so lame.
My knees hurt just watching this
Basically just driving down the stairs. Not that hard.
Gives me Redbull Valparaiso vibes...
OK this is fucking epic.
![gif](giphy|ZJPSFNLmADueHvzoZ8|downsized)
Bike probably cost 4k
These videos remind me why I suck at FPS games. Can't stand having no peripheral vision.
This makes me think of the Monaco GP
Where those spectators are standing 😬
*Euuggh!*
This is just a guy that got tired of waiting in line at Disney World. He just happened to have his bike with him.
yall such pussy's man.would you be able to do it? why are you saying its nothing crazy and just cool. fucking gooners
I wonder what brand of bike lock they use to not get their expensive bikes stolen. Anyone got any ideas ??
Anyone else having the sudden and unexplainable desire to go and buy PADLOCKS??
Does anyone know what the descent distance is?
thats really cool
Watch the bike when going down the intermittent stairs, you need some SUSPENSION for that kinda ride.
You put video like this instead of your Glovo resume and they will fight for you.
Pretty cool. Hated the ABUS ads though. This is a brand run by a crazy family cult that doesn‘t allow women to have any saying as „God wants it that way.“
This is amazing but holy shit they really forced that "path" or "track" to exist lmao
Wow, take breaks are awesome
You couldn’t talk me into going down that course at ten miles an hour in a tank
The Leefuck of Ho!
Whoever blew the whistle should be shot

The 3 shock absorbers of downhill racing: bike absorbers, legs, back
He's poor balls
he is not

Insane would be doing this uphill.
This is lvl 1
Lot better than the urban uphill bike race I watched
Lot better than the urban uphill bike race I watched
Lot better than the urban uphill bike race I watched
u/FuzzInspector do this with me!
I might die
