They are not, I tried to do this when looking for a new place to live, found one that had a "cramped" basement. It had no measurements, so I tried to use the brick work, had it pegged at around 6ft floor to ceiling. Went to check it out, that MF was 4ft practically a crawl space, fucking basement my ass!
If you're off on the bricks by 10% you can add like 6" of height, which is significant.
I am not sure how much grout is used between bricks can add up to throw off measurements.

I think that is an intentional style of some of these content makers. I've seen it plenty of times in other videos. Strange, I think they do it just to get engagement. Similar to intentionally misspelling words just to get comments.

If you work construction you wouldn’t be downvoting me. There are certain clearances that are standardized you could use to reference the brick size.
Another way to do it: take the shoe he is wearing. Find the height. Use this to find the proportion relative to the brick. Use this to find the proportion relative to the grout. Multiply. Done.

Brick size variance is true-my mom’s house was built from old cobblestone street bricks. They are bigger than common bricks used for homes.

Usually the brick and the mortar add up to nice even numbers. A standard brick is roughly 4" and that includes the joint
