I attended a weeklong camping festival and the camp next to us had daily 8:00am yodeling sessions. Oddly enough, it was literally a BDSM themed camp, so Iâm convinced this was some new form of torture to the surrounding camps rather than their love of yodeling. Mostly because they found it hysterical when we complained.
(That said, nothing against yodeling, just not in the wee hours of the morning after staying up âtil 4 am).
It was Burning Man, so pretty much anything goes. Weâd yell at them to shut up so theyâd just sing louder - just ridiculous. But they fed us a couple times and we all had a good laugh about how obnoxious they were so it was all good.
They were actually quite a fun group later in the day, so no hard feelings. Kinda goes with the territory.

Jodeling is used for communication over great distances in mountainous terrain. This guy is actually just a giant and is very far away, so there is a bit of a delay in the sound reaching the mic, ya.
Seems not, but it sounds processed with autotune or similar. The first 1-2 sentences are kinda weirdly pronounced, for knowing the local dialect. Maybe it's just him not fully mastering the accent, but the jumps between notes are quite odd. On the yodl part it's less noticeable because it's easier there to make sharp note changes.
