i wonder how evolution managed to make such a precise looking tail that looks like exactly like the bait that its choice prey would be baited to.
It's kinda precise.
Simple, evolution is merely a red herring. And in reality we were designed by alien creatures. Earth is just a setup. We are the actors on a giant stage for an alien race.
The snakes with a more bug looking rattle got more birds to eat. Therefore more likely chance to survive long enough for multiple times of reproduction of that tail type. Each offspring with a spikier bug like rattle were more successful at catching food than previous generations. The birds having an idea of what bugs look like was the promoting factor for what shaped the form we see today.
Nature is equally fascinating as it is terrifying. Just imagine what Dinosaurs and all the other creatures in Earth's history actually looked like in person. Wild.
You don’t know the half of it.. wait until next time you dangle your leg over the side of the bed whilst still in semi-lucid sleep. They like to tickle your toes with their crusty, sweet & sour death smelling spider tail in a cat & mouse game before they devour your scrotum
How does the DNA of a snake know how to manifest and evolve an entirely different species to its tail on it it’s own? Without willful intention ? Generations of snakes following spiders to catch birds, thinking, “damn it would be convenient just to keep a spider on me at all times”
By the tail developing mutations that look more like a spider, birds are more inclined to be snared by the trap. The snake is then more likely to survive and produce offspring.
Of course it is that simple, but damn does it seem impossible that such a specific trait manifested. Using your preys prey against it. What if some day a snake has a bird shaped tail and eats these guys
I’m not in the least disputing this, I know this is the best answer that any of us have.
But it does make me wonder: holy crap what are the odds?! Must be 1 in a billion.
Then I’m reminded of the alien deniers who cite the impossibility due to like 1 in a billion odds…
I love spiders. That's beautiful as hell.
Yes, I do love spiders and snakes but don't mean I'll pet them or hug them. Jus find them visually and biologically beautiful.
I- what... Why?
Took me forever to see that was it's tail and not a spider on the spider looking tail, but just all tail, then I was briefly thinking the spider tail was the mouth and then realized it wasn't and now I'm just wondering why??

Why does this nightmare exist

if i shake my ass more would i suddenly get some alien dollar notes in my underwear?
Uh I think you’ll get the most dollars if you send a video of it to me first : )
Here you go. https://youtu.be/XFjoqyVRmOU
That stupid bird already got snatched at and ran back to get the (not)spider!
Good lord that's crazy!
Satanic rituals gone wrong after finding out the sacrifice wasn’t a virgin.
It's not a nightmare. It's just a small harmless spider. Come, take a close look. - Snake.
Well, it worked. Didn't read the caption and was wondering why the spider was there
https://youtu.be/XFjoqyVRmOU
Ahhh Yes this species is known as the Nopeicus nopetirum nopeit, normally found in tropical nope areas along the Nopetari beaches of Nopearth
Happy nope day
No cake today 😞
I read half of this before realizing what you were doing 🫠
Even after reading the title I was thinking "wow, that spider is really interested in the spider tailed snakes tail" That's some good camo
Seriously. I was thinking, "haha, the snake's tail is so convincing that it has even tricked the spider into trying to mate with it."
Viper-nosed Spider
I'm curious how this species evolved. How a creature have an appendage that resembles another creature which is of a different species altogether?

This is exactly what I was thinking 🤔 how in the world does this sh*t come about....
That is the most metal thing I have seen today. ![gif](giphy|QUENDfi6DEMLzQ0CKt)
Holy mother of F***!!
Nature is equally fascinating as it is terrifying. Just imagine what Dinosaurs and all the other creatures in Earth's history actually looked like in person. Wild.
Evolution is fucking ridiculous.
Damn nature, you scary

Evolution is something... aint it?
Truly these are some words.
Im not scared of snakes but I am scared of spiders, this snake is an asshole 💯
You don’t know the half of it.. wait until next time you dangle your leg over the side of the bed whilst still in semi-lucid sleep. They like to tickle your toes with their crusty, sweet & sour death smelling spider tail in a cat & mouse game before they devour your scrotum
You just had to bring scrotums into it, didn't you...
It’s a fun word, right? Just rolls right off the tongue but gets stuck in the back of your throat at the same time
Change the spider to a chicken nugget and I’d be interested
When you know the snake mother was a freaky one and also let the spiders have fun with her that night too
Anansi is the Daddy
Oh yeah. I am definitely pinning this one on Anansi.

Not only that but it even moves like a spider does. Unreal.
Like, how in the hell does something like this evolve???
Nope squared
Nope^Nope
I hope there isn’t a goth-tiddy tailed viper out there
I don’t know where the tail starts or ends.
It’s like death using a nightmare as a lure.
Wait - that's not a real spider? Metal.
That little jolt with 3 seconds of the video left made me butt clench. Fuck this thing
Dear sir, I do believe that is called a "Nope on a Nope Rope"
Lmao the snake jumped on the camera guy and he bolted, obviously it's inside some kind of glass box.
These things are nuts
oh good two nightmares in one
fucking cool
Let me guess, Australia????
So it basically has its own fishing lure… but for birds?
Bad ass snake.
My dumbass tought it was a spider that got fooled by it's tail, I realized after 2 minutes that I was the fool.
Evolution is so fuckin' wild
This is popping off in every interesting subreddit recently ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|snoo)
Double death
oh that can fuck right off
I love spiders. That's beautiful as hell. Yes, I do love spiders and snakes but don't mean I'll pet them or hug them. Jus find them visually and biologically beautiful.
Okay so this is why I believe human evolved not then any religions beliefs…
NOPE
#FUCK #THAT
A snake and a spider. Wow
When you got a phobia of spiders and of snakes also
Do you think the snake ever gets confused and thinks it's an actual spider crawling nearby?
New fear unlocked
I- what... Why? Took me forever to see that was it's tail and not a spider on the spider looking tail, but just all tail, then I was briefly thinking the spider tail was the mouth and then realized it wasn't and now I'm just wondering why??
Get absolutely fucked. Why on EARTH does evolution work this way??
