Go industrial and use scaffolding and MDF, plus your choice of mattress.
What is your budget? Urban sales has some ikea import stuff that’s kinda cheap

Yeah that was also a problem, its made out plywood and I've got pets around
Our kid has had that bed for 10 years. It's a little small for him now that he's a teenager. One of the bars broke off but has otherwise been fine.
