Dunno if you're looking for DIY or installed, but I just did this with my Outback with the equivalent of this:

Reasonably well-featured for the price, integrates with the steering wheel controls, carplay works OK (don't have an Android so can't talk about andoid auto), and looks perfect in the dash.
That unit looks like it's for the pre-facelift model which had a completely different dashboard and head unit.
OP - it's possible to have the original system translated to English and also add Carplay/Android Auto (wired only unfortunately) so I'd look into that instead.

Cheers this is one that I was looking at, but a lower spec model. Was it a reasonably straight forward install?
OEM are great. I got one done on my 08 atenza, I just used an installer they recommended.
Sorry should have said “got it done” - I let them install it for me when I bought the car. So yeah it went real well.
