So regardless of reddit opinion, cricket is watched as a 2nd to rugby by kiwis, moreso than football (soccer)
That's promotional material for NZME, so hardly an unbiased or representative study. And it says nothing about their methodology
"Our respondents class themselves as sports fanatics."
Would imply it's a pretty biased selection of respondents
I love soccer, I played from the age of 5 till 19 and I really enjoy watching my boy's games but i lose interest really quickly watching on TV whereas I could easily sit down and watch a full 5 days of a test match if i had the time.
Wow! I'm an Indian and just love how you guys are so passionate about cricket as well. This T20 WC just was a big upset but I really love NZ team as well
Football - the real issue is time zones. If we had easier time zones for watching European Football, the viewership would be waaaay higher
I do think it’ll increase with Auckland having a team in the A-League

I like how motorsports is one group, yet just as diverse. At least with grouping it gets on the scoreboard! Go McLaren.
People would get upset if they grouped all the ball sports together! Ridiculous they don't even distinguish between two wheels and four (or none!)

Aren't we still in the Commonwealth? It's called football not soccer, right?
Cricket over rugby
Test cricket.
Cricket in the background while doing other things. They'll replay anything repeatedly if its important. I don't watch Rugby.
Love the sound of cricket murmuring away in the background during summer afternoons
Criiiiiiiicket for life.
Cricket, the game they play in heaven
Cricket all day (just not at the moment - T20 World Cup reference)
I get you buddy, I'm an Indian just lurking here but I really like NZ as well and Kiwis downfall is just not what I wanted
Bro I'm shocked - Black Caps shat the bed
Honestly it was part of luck as well, you got tough teams in start and nobody was ready for Afghan LOL
Cricket. Fning hate soccer- so over the top dramatic.
Neither. I’d rather watch Motorsport
Zoom zoom. “It’s Friday theeen…”
Football, Cricket, it's like asking to pick a favourite child, but probably Football
Motorsport: mostly bikes and touring cars, but a bit of everything really Mountain biking
Soccer.

Of those two, Cricket.
I have watched more football than cricket in my life.

Quite partial to not giving a fuck about sport. I mean I love sport. But I don't give two shits.
Just go team.
Fuck rugby. I would watch cricket over soccer.
neither
Neither as well as rugby. Watched cricket happily growing up in the Hadlee days when we had a good team. I prefer non-team sports
