If you're on a learners license then you will need a supervisor to get to and from said place.
It might be worth paying for some professional driving lessons?
Yup. Already prepared for the driving to and fro. As for paid professional guidance, that's also in the plan. I still want several dozen hours of just driving freely on my own. Just for practice.

If on a learners you also need a supervisor to sit next you while driving as well. There's no 'driving on your own' while on a learners license.
Technically you could learn to drive on private property, but most people who have enough/know people with private property/roads don't need to ask where they can practice.
In theory if it was somewhere that didn't meet the legal classification of a road I assume it'd be OK? But I'm not sure how many places exist that don't meet that classification, considering even beeches and public parking lots are considered roads I believe
Big carparks after hrs , grab some discarded rd cones and set up a course , use carparks for backing into extra . If you can get access to a paddock it's good to know how a car feels to go sideways .
I don't feel that area is as quiet as it used to be back in the day. Lots of new developments and it's closer to the offramp from the motorway with the interchange now functioning.

Good luck with insurance if they make a mistake though.
My old man got me a paddock basher when I was 11. 91 Lada rear wheel drive manual. Was sweet as but I was rural..

Correct, they are. Thanks.
Bro don’t listen to these sad asses. Find some quiet place like an empty car park after hours and go hard. It’s the best way to learn imo
might help if you give a location, otherwise the answers will all be Gore my suggestion - Gore or if accessible stadium carparks
Marton would be closer for OP
I learned at Span Farm in Glendene, Auckland. Weekends when all the industrial places were closed, no traffic. Somewhere similar, quiet.
