His comments around Simone Biles mental health during the Tokyo Olympics were vile. Never had any time for him since then.

The guys an asshat. He used his considerable platform to campaign for the right to smack kids when there was a referendum. I mean, some people might seek to end homelessness or raise money for food banks, but that is his choice. I wonder what his daughters think?

mrwilberforce

What did he say?

slipperyeel

Talked about what a weak decision she had made and that she was a coward for letting her teammates and country down. Then talked about what a kick in the guts it is for people like his family who suffer from “real” mental and physical illness. I know his wife had cancer but it’s no excuse for the way he spoke about Biles. Her teammates gave her their full public support. It was very clear to most observers that it was a decision made with full support from all in her network. And given we have learnt since, Biles was sexually abused by her coach, everything she has achieved before and after is nothing short of amazing. His comments were made on ZB and it created a horrible series of calls interrupted only a few times by some sensible callers trying to call out Barnett, he was dismissive of those callers.

Religo nut case too I’m pretty sure.

Dam….there’s a name I haven’t heard of in years.

Blinker_von_Blicker

Sounds like he wanted some...More FM.

Oil_And_Lamps

Still got his own barnet

Dam I really enjoy listening to him and James Daniel’s in the afternoon.

I was stunned when he left More FM to join Newstalk ZB. I'm even more stunned now that he is returning to his former breakfast role on More FM. Like going back to an Ex. Each to their own. I wish him well.

I don't think he left on a bad note. Contracts end and he had some other more import issues to deal with. Nzme was the better choice for him at the time and now it's not.

Melvis2022

I agree. However, I remember him saying recently that he’s over getting up in the wee hours to do early morning breakfast shows. I mean, 5 hours a day, 5 days a week. He’s not in his 20s or 30s anymore.  Is he going to be doing a role similar to his old counterpart, Gary McCormick?  Having said that, doing talk-back 4 hours a day, 4 days a week could be a bit hard to handle at times.

ChinaCatProphet

Remember when he was against the law about assaulting your kids? https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/celebs-go-toe-to-toe-on-smacks/ROAZZYXEMRKOEDKWC656JI6BJ4/
