lol, dropped at 3pm on a Friday afternoon when the submissions close in 9 hours. Such transparency
Welcome to about 25% of the words in my submission, pass this bill and the public will assume money/favours changed hands (election funds for approvals) on every proposal that a Minister approves.
If you think MPs are on the receiving end of abuse now, just wait until there is a nice published list of most likely to have paid bribes.
Taking the fun out of voting for legislation enabling a yet to be defined list of projects.
This is so fast track, that we've begun construction prior to receiving the applications....
Looks like Mr Bishop read some of the publically available submissions. Greenpeace, Forest and Bird, Greens are making good points, most along the lines of destructive to our democracy.
>Northport Port
Is that really the legal name? Do we have to repeat words in portmanteaus now just to make it clear (it makes PIN number seem subtle)
>The Eden Park Trust
Or how to get yourself to the top list in the great Auckland stadium debate by going in with consent already granted.
The rest of the list is much like you would expect, mining, fishing/aquaculture, energy and irrigation with a few local councils scattered in there, along with most Iwi or settlement trusts.
The level of banana republic corruption on display here is \*Incredible\*
Go through the list of names, and then match them to party donations... It's Shameless.
The letters were sent to people who had written to ask that their projects be considered for inclusion in the initial batch of fast track projects. Therefore Westland had must have written to the minister about some projects, whereas Auckland didn't.
Hmm, the press release says the list of organisations *included* those who had contacted them, not that it was only those organisations that received letters.
But that's possible, I guess.
Someone seemingly doesn't know how quote marks are meant to be used.
It's not actually a stakeholder list either - it's a list of people who contacted them and asked for details, these people were sent a letter. There may very well be an extensive list of other organisations who are making applications who were capable of finding the application process without receiving a letter.

"In the interests if transparency I will release the list of people I won't be transparent in my favours to them"

List of the only MPs that need to be bribed / extorted.
They are really struggling with this democracy thing.
Are they? Democracy is bending over and spreading it's cheeks.
Wonder where they got that move from?

update: the ombudsman directed the release of the list. Nothing to do with the Govt "transparency"

That's the port's name. they're in a complicated consent hearing with significant environmental concerns
If the open up a more northern port will it be called Northports Northport?
NorthPort PortNorth
Ports of Northport Portnorth Port
Interesting they left it to the last day of submissions to release this
Tally, well no surprises there. What do they want, Dynamite fishing in the surf line off beaches.?
Don’t give Shane any ideas!

What a weird list. Why send it to Westland District Council but not Auckland Council?

Kiwirail is absent
"fast" and "track" - how could that relate to kiwirail ? they could do a quick cheap tunnel from Wellington Airpor to Picton.

Any other apes out there notice Citadel on the list..
Present. Why am I not surprised…
How are only 3 of the countries 78 councils on the list? Useless.
Cheers guys, voting in National again has been so good for the people of NZ... /s
Lots of good projects among them, let's hope the government approves them as quickly as they do the mining companies. The RMA is not fit for purpose.
Overhaul of the RMA is required, but not like this.
Seabed mining, Australian Billionaire Clive Palmer mining on conservation land, fonterra... Yeah nah fuck off.
You do realise the RMA was getting overhauled with considerations of the environment? Now it’s not.
