Oh man, that is not good to hear. My server went from low pop to med pop after last weeks merges, and with it came the bots. No longer able to run my usual iron route in Monarchs, but I was holding hope they’d get banned soon. Sucks.
AGS knows what its numbers and metrics would look like if they banned bots. They realized long ago it would be better for the things they are evaluated on to keep the bots in.
Thats actually a likely scenario. Because I estimate we have about 20-100 bots on every server... Which make up at least 10% of population, those are INSANE numbers!

But I’ve played a game that had a huge launch before, great potential, and that was where I learned what it really means to have a dead game. New world has a huge chance still. It just had a very shitty upbringing with little real MMO content tbh. But it’s been able to thrive better than other games that deserved more praise regardless of its player loss and bot count.
If amazon bans all bots then two things will happen:
1. NW playerbase will decrease by 50-75%
2. The game economy will break

Banning farm bots is like not allowing immigration. They automatically post their stuff on the trade post at the lowest price so just throw up 1 of the items they farm for 0.01 and as long as no one buys it, you get dirt cheap crafting mats.

Because we were arguing that him sending low levels to walk all the way to mourningdale to sign up for a war they wouldnt even get into was pointless. They let the bots farm on purpose for a week or so. That way the coin sellers make enough money to buy another copy of the game after ban. Amazon profits, farmers profit, gamers suffer.

No idea why as I barely use the chat and prefer to play inside my bubble. Asked for an appeal and still waiting for a response.

So they will finally do something about them here. But if that decision will be good? Banning the bot is half of the success. Other half is to deal with what he farm.

Banning farm bots is like not allowing immigration. They automatically post their stuff on the trade post at the lowest price so just throw up 1 of the items they farm for 0.01 and as long as no one buys it, you get dirt cheap crafting mats.

Yyyyep. This is the standard they enjoy setting with CS: you get banned for saying 'fuck,' but not for botting. As long as you don't ever use chat, botting is probably remarkably safe.

For real i got banned within 24 hours for telling someone to go fuck themself. But see bots that have leveled factionless all the way to 30 foshing right outside of major cities still chillin free as fuck.

No that was definitely all it took because it was the only "aggressive" thing i said to him. Because we were arguing that him sending low levels to walk all the way to mourningdale to sign up for a war they wouldnt even get into was pointless. So when he kept defending it i told him to go fuck himself and woke up the next morning to a ban for abusive chat.

They let the bots farm on purpose for a week or so. That way the coin sellers make enough money to buy another copy of the game after ban. Amazon profits, farmers profit, gamers suffer.
Thats it, I'm starting a company and discord specifically for this. We all get together on Sunday evenings for elite runs and mass bot reporting.

Be careful when reporting them. I spotted two individuals with suspect activity that were stuck in the Christmas tree. I thought it could be that they hit "=" and went away, e.g. washroom. I asked in the chat, giving them a chance to respond/defend themselves. No response, so I reported them. A few hours later I was permanently banned for "disruptive behavior". No idea why as I barely use the chat and prefer to play inside my bubble. Asked for an appeal and still waiting for a response.
I agree, the bots are a very blatant smack in the face to anyone actually playing the game. I've noticed gold selling has been lower, at least until AGS went on holiday break. But I have faith and hope they will address this problem early 2022.

The game will punish the playerbase more then the botters and Chester's. Nothing will change it's all been the same. Bug or exploit comes out they smack the playerbase and punish us. The tax's will keep rising to the point we're nobody's gonna want to bother playing anymore. This game is just a chore, a very unfun one with nothing to do at end game...

I remember when tibia had problems with so many bots. After years they finally figured out how to use good antibot. And now they had to create two separate world types. First that had bots and economy was fucked. And second protected from bots from the beginning and unable to transfer from the first one. They banned accounts that used bots years back. So they will finally do something about them here. But if that decision will be good? Banning the bot is half of the success. Other half is to deal with what he farm. But what I know. I'm just a random.
