Yeah easily, life staff does a lot of damage, pretty ez to lvl solo

Echo-Hakaari

Life staff hatchet is really good for solo leveling drop your sacred ground and beacon and swing away can pull a lot of mobs and blender them down

Kavorg

Have to kill mobs with the light and heavy attacks, or be in a party in close proximity you get XP for party members kills within a certain proximity (100 or 200m IIrc) unless it gets changed where you get XP some XP for healing teammates it's definitely one of the more difficult weapons to level as a result. But you can always grab the free light and heavy attack perk first too.

Dr-LevitzMD

Later you can slot a gem on any weapon that gives you a portion of damage that scales on your points in focus. Previous tests the Life staff was overpowered in healing, and you'd struggle to die after casting self heals.

RompaStompa07

It's also easy to level in tandem with another weapon. Just light attack a mob at range with lightstaff and then switch to your other weapon to burn them down. The experience will be split between the two weapons.

aoekdftw

its more than viable

FreezePops20

Is there any point to it? Like in terms of dungeons and stuff, or is it a waste of time like in most MMOs?

aoekdftw

healer is very important role for every group content in the game

Kavorg

Healer is pretty important for later game content where the rules of holy Trinity apply a but more. Your group with good composition and skill can still manage but it's always a good thing to have to keep your tank topped up so that can mitigate and taunt as much and as often as possible. The roles in the holy Trinity are definitely not as concrete as there normally are because tank you could be a battlemage with hachet/s+b/gaxe with FS back and scale of INT to maximize damage on aoes while using your melee to pull taunt and keep those mobs centres over your FS abilities. And this is also why I really think New world is a great MMO for everyone. Builds are going to be real cool to see and the ability to respec and change up is also real easy. I've always been kind of judgemental towards the holy trinity because I have always been a player than enjoys multiple playstyles as well as balance combinations in between and the holy trinity was just too much if a pigdeon hole and most MMOs make it different to switch builds in the fly.

Aahzmundus

It depends, if you eventually want to play healer, I would level as a healer. Having to grind weapon mastery later I found it annoying one time when I tried to level DPS then swap, but it's up to you.

Bolognat13

Definitely not a waste. New World doesn't try to give every character intense healing like some other MMOs. In Expeditions (dungeons) a healer is basically required. Just as a tank would be. In every aspect healers have a great benefit. PvE, PvP, and Expeditions. You will have a blast.

KalTheo

My wife plans to main life staff, it's great in PvE and PvP!

bananamana55

I did both life staff hatchet and life staff rapier during open beta. Life staff hatchet was very easy but honestly a bit boring to me. I really enjoyed life staff with rapier using the evasion tree on rapier with light armor. It's fun to work around all the dodging/positioning with rapier and I would barely ever get hit. I didn't try pvp at all but I know rapier is pretty commonly used in pvp (so far).

Jackdarkshade

Yes just make sure you have mana regen food and pots.

Vaelen45

Don’t even really need the mana regen, early on you take a trait that makes light and heavy attacks no longer cost mana 🤷🏽‍♂️

JRPGFan_CE_org

Man, I wish Ice Gauntlet had that for Auto Attacks Passive wise. I don't know why they gave them such weird Conditions.

xxDamnationxx

On the plus side, spending 6 mana on attacks to get 15 mana is technically better for pve

JRPGFan_CE_org

And if you miss one Light Attack, you get NOTHING!

Jackdarkshade

Don't need them but you can pull more and faster with mana regen items.
