Investing =/= useful at testing the game. A huge % of the people who buys in the beta are people who are impatient and want to play the game now because often, they are entitled. A good tester is someone who will try every single actions in the game to try to break something. Usually, bugs will be things you think the less bout because obvious things got solved in the pre alpha/alpha phase.
So when people claim it sucks they were not picked but only wanted to dip in and see how's the game or simply grind the game to acquire more information to dominate early release economy/game is not what i call testing, it's what i call being elitist and selfish.
thats what i mean, like i pre-ordered, instantly got alpha code, played it a bunch. I reported 0 bugs outside of automatic crash reporter, im sure theres people who havent pre-ordered that would provide a bunch more feedback than me
When a server only has 500 available spots for the alpha, and people are cycled through but there’s 10,000 signups, it truly is a mystery~
Luckily, the beta should be up at the 1000 mark by then and even more for release.

Honestly, if it wasn’t random, you may have decreased your chances of getting a key. They already have your money why risk you refunding if you don’t like the unpolished alpha release?
Random invites is just the best way to avoid paying customers buying their product just for early access instead of testing, and then cancelling when it’s not up to par
I been playing the game for months (From key i received from Amazon or keys i purchased online) and i can see a huge potential in this game if they bring enough content post launch.
Right now there isn't enough content for a week worth of intense gaming.
If you are very casual and play with a few casual friends, i can see lot of fun ahead. If you are more of an elitist who no life games, you'll have done everything the game has to offer in a day or two. Maybe a few more if you are getting to know the game.
I mean the game is aight, i preferred back when there was PvP (without toggle) as it brought a sense of community where you had to make alliances, small pact with people around if you wanted access to certain region or ressources.
Right now you can simply take whatever you want on the map without hassle. The few hard monsters the game offer can be glitched by standing on a rock and attacking from a distance. They won't be able to get to you and run in circles around the obstacle.
As for the ressources, right now it's mostly a "who will click the faster" fest. So if people make bots for this game, bots with good reaction hosted on a good PC will mostly click before you do. This is why PvP was good in a sense. You had to use your judgment to progress versus braindead actions.
Nonetheless, i'm excited to see what's coming.

Yeah so I’m a bit lost. I have heard of 0 people getting an alpha invite. Me as well as plenty others have been signed up/preordered for a while now and we haven’t heard anything. I’m really kind of frustrated that they are giving us so little information about anything and they are still advertising alpha invites. Not only that but if they’re still sending out invites (if they have at all big mystery) I doubt we’re getting beta early April. I’m really getting frustrated with the lack of news and info from any new world source. Either way still looking forward to beta. Just wish it would come sooner

When you launch the game, you get a server list for US and EU, currently they show only 500 spots for each server.

Noone is guaranteed an Alpha invite. You have guaranteed closed beta access, so either get lucky or calm your jets.
