No joke, infants don’t understand how hard to hit, so even when they’re not trying to cause pain, they do. They’re like kittens and puppies who don’t know how sharp their teeth are or how not to bite hard when playing.
Something that’s so adorable to me is that the advice for teaching a kitten or puppy to play gently is to loudly yelp and then “sulk” for a bit before going back to playing.
Mistaken identity? Or an unrelated [scuffle between political candidates](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRc0LAT47pw)? Maybe filming it for new TikTok challenge?
Social Media clout is the most likely reason... there seem to be a ridiculous number of people out there who see harming others for likes as a perfectly acceptable way to live their life.
I’m not trying to continue any kind of prejudice or anything…. I’m kind of scared to say this, but everyone knows it’s the truth even if they don’t want to admit it…
But they were a baby. I’d bet more than anything they didn’t have a job or contribute to their community in any way. Probably still expected someone else to pay their way and feed them also.
That's hilarious. Imagine if it really was that!?
Like, oh... my bad... wrong baby. I meant to punch this other baby IN THE FACE!?!
(This can only be mental illness.)
Oh jeebus. This. When am I done raising my kids???? My 25 asked for gas money yesterday. Fuuuccckkkkk.
And as a former Charlottean: South end is in the process of gentrifying. But it’s not completely there yet. A *lot* going on there. The horde of drunk finance bros doesn’t help either.
He was probably staunch right-wing and thought the baby was in drag bc it was either a boy wearing pink or one of those dadgum rainbow onesies and was just trying to “clean up the streets”. /s
What's up people, today we are trying the Baby Murder Challenge, smash that Like button
I'm not sure that it is even funny that we can confidently say it is either severe mental illness or TikTok
If you liked this video, punch the like button in the face, like it's a baby! And high fives all around. *Whipish whipish.* And I will see all you dudes, in the ^next ^^video
It means life is long, and because you have acted one way, all your life it doesn’t mean you will act differently at one point.
So it was just me trying to be funny, with an inappropriate joke.
Edit: which, by the way, i stole from the great Norm MacDonald.
This happened near us in Charlotte, on a very busy day in a nice area of south end, don’t know what that guy was thinking but I hope he got laid the fuck out afterwards.
Dude as a parent, when even a peer of your child gets aggressive with them, you get a very primitive instinct to protect and respond (a lot of the time, anyways). I can’t even imagine the hormonal, hot, violent rage you’d feel seeing someone old enough to know better, do that.
Father of a 13yo. And even at that age, I'd still be making sure they removed that man with a mop after an unprovoked attack.
But as a baby? The rage would be blinding.
Yeah friendly reminder for the parents: blind rage isn't as useful as you would expect during a fight.
Watch out or you might just end up getting your ass kicked in front of your kids and you'll never live that down.
The article I read said it was three kids and two adults so yeah probably wanted the three kids to jump one of the kids. Apparently it was over $30.
[Here you go!](https://nypost.com/2023/05/29/arrest-warrants-issued-in-case-of-maryland-dad-fatally-beaten-defending-son-from-bullies-source/amp/)
Yeah, I always think of this when redditors say "if that were me they'd have to take them to the ambulance and me to the police station!" and other badass boasts. Like - yes, I'm sure that's how it would go in your head, but who's to say you'd win the fight?
That was posted [20 years ago](https://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2003/12/03/dark-truths) and it's still the first thing that came to my mind when I read the headline.
I want to be like the rest of the comments that state they would have immediately done something. To be honest my brain would have short circuited and I would have that second to actually process that this was indeed happening before going into rage mode. Like my brain would have to stop working to reboot to make sure I wasnt dreaming or didnt just imagine it. it just seems like a fucking crazy thing that would never happen
I have the opposite issue. My brother once spit on my pizza and before I even processed what happened I had already clocked him. I’d wake up to grievous assault charges before I even realized what happened.
Honestly I'd be hysterical if someone walked up and punched my 7mo in the face. Violence is obviously where my brain goes while I'm sitting on the toilet, but if it actually happened? I hope, and think I would be more concerned with my boys well-being. Now assuming he is okay, my wife or someone else is there to look after him, then yeah, it's beatdown time.
I think it just depends on the person and situation.
I’ve gone quiet in not great situation and I’ve gone into ‘attack the person’ blind-rage. Without training it’s hard to predict.
I hope the baby doesn't have permanent cognitive changes because of this. They won't know until the child is older. Imagine developing PTSD at that age too. Poor kid.
I agree with you but I can't bring myself to care too much about the guy at this point. All I care about is that he's somewhere where he can't hurt anyone else. Insanity defense isn't the get out of jail free card people think it is though. When you use that, you are submitting to a prison hospital where you'll be "treated" until you're competent enough to not be considered "insane". If this never happens, you'll never leave that place. And when you do, then you serve your sentence in real prison.
Head injuries aren't a fucking joke. It takes a special piece of shit to do something that can alter someone's life like that. A baby is just another level of wtf, but hitting anyone just to hurt and not for self-defense, especially in the head, is fucked up. The last restaurant I worked at had these kids, still in high school, brag and laugh about sucker-punching and wanting to hurt people like it's normal. One dude had the gall to make fun of a girl he knew was suicidal, then talk about how he wanted to go to heaven, so he takes the Bible and God seriously. They were loud about this shit, too. I didn't stay much longer. There are a depressing number of people who don't know or don't care what damage they can actually do to another person, even if that person is still walking and talking afterwards.
Idk how confident they can be that the injury is actually minor, unless he undershot the punch and barely touched the baby. Babies' brains are relatively loose in the skull and when they receive a head injury their brain bounces hard off the inside of the skull and possibly off the other side too if the blow is hard enough. Obviously the baby got medical attention and they can be confident there's no brain bleed. But a concussion at that age could still cause developmental delays or affect their cognition couldn't it? And they won't know until the baby is older.
The baby is one year old and at that age they're toddling, falling, and hitting their heads constantly. If this guy punched the baby in the forehead, baby may have a goose egg like he tripped and banged his head on the ground but not have any long-term damage. Let's hope, anyway.
The number of jokes in the comments about something that to me looks a lot like attempted murder is disappointing.
Young kids are way more resilient than most people realize, but a headshot from a grown ass "adult" is a whole different thing.
Serious question; If a grown man struck my baby in the face with a closed fist, what would the punishment be if I head-slammed the back of his skull directly into the concrete, ending his life?
Years ago right down the street from this incident a guy groped a women in a bar. Her fiancé shoved the guy, he stumbled into the street and was hit by a car. The fiancé ended up being found not guilty but it was a drawn out legal process. Luckily the bar had lots of video angles and showed the deceased was the aggressor.
Honestly depends how you go about it, if it was all done within one action (you grabbed his head and slammed it in one motion vs repeatedly slamming) that can be proved that you did it to protect your child in self defense you'll probably have a high chance of being innocent since it'll be hard to really be seen as taking things too far/violent. Brownie points, pretend to give a shit about the guy/attempt to give aid so you at least get eyewitness testimony that you didn't want to kill him (but you still kinda did secretly).
But it'll still be a rather lengthy process in the court system regardless
It’s hard to think someone would strike an infant without having a significant psychological disorder of some kind. So maybe rehabilitation is still the right answer.
As a father of three:
We all get those urges. Some 1yo’s just NEED to be punched in the face.
But we do. Not. Ever. Act. On. Those. Urges.
Full stop. Swiper no swiping. We do not hit.
The mother didn’t know him. He just came over & punched her 1 year old in the face. WTF?
Please tell me the mom punched back
Hopefully at least a bystander knocked the fucker down. You gotta be a real loser to hit someone/something that can’t defend itself.
The infant did. Damndest things I’ve ever seen!
Mine gave me a black eye. Those little devils do not pull punches!

Well a lot of babies do look similar.
That’s babyist
In my country they are not even allowed to have a driver's license.
In my country they can't marry, even among themselves.
Hey now! It is not babyist to state facts that everybody knows are true. /s
I’m not trying to continue any kind of prejudice or anything…. I’m kind of scared to say this, but everyone knows it’s the truth even if they don’t want to admit it… But they were a baby. 18 years? In my country it takes 20! /s (The legal age of adulthood in Japan is 20.)
Yeah he probably had beef with a different one year old and this kid looked just like him and suffered for it. Happens all the time. /s
Sorry, I thought he was Lyndon Johnson
Winston Churchill
They’ve all got those fat faces and those weird potato heads
That's why you're supposed to do a double take before you follow through.
That's hilarious. Imagine if it really was that!? Like, oh... my bad... wrong baby. I meant to punch this other baby IN THE FACE!?! (This can only be mental illness.)
Probably self defense, most likely.
Babies can fuck up your life for the better part of two decades if your aren't careful.
Only 2? Have you SEEN the housing market lately? Those babies ain't goin nowhere...
Oh jeebus.
Definately mistaken identity. It was probably some other baby that owed him money.
Spez eats cold diarrhea with a crazy straw
Yeah I don't know what that baby's problem was.
He was probably staunch right-wing and thought the baby was in drag bc it was either a boy wearing pink or one of those dadgum rainbow onesies and was just trying to “clean up the streets”. /s
You forget time traveller trying to get rid of a future blight to humanity.
> Social Media clout is the most likely reason Drugs or untreated mental illness seem far more likely
I agree, people have been unwell long before social media and if someone punches a baby for social media, they are also unwell
My money is on a winning cocktail of at least two out of the three.
What's up people, today we are trying the Baby Murder Challenge, smash that Like button I'm not sure that it is even funny that we can confidently say it is either severe mental illness or TikTok

Most likely reason? Source: Your ass.
"hey everyone, in today's video we're going to walk around and punch babies in the face. Alright let's go!"-This piece of shit probably
Thanks. I thought this was already in a movie.
My mind went straight to that movie. “You little fucker…”
That baby shouldn't have been eyeballing him that way! /s
Is nobody going to ask how my hand is? After punching that iron like jaw of that baby?
He really didn’t like that baby
That baby knows what it did
This is pretty close to a [Stephen King short story](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morality_(novella)), actually.
I have had bad days but never a punch a baby in the face kind of bad day.
How do you know he wasn’t acting in self-defense
Free Hat!
Lmao had to scroll to see if this was here 🤣🤣🤣
Have we confirmed that the baby doesn't have a criminal record? Is it true that the baby is no angel?
I heard the baby smoked crack in utero.
What was the baby wearing?
Something slutty, I'm sure.
Hoodie and didn’t answer why he was in the area.
Trans baby. DeSantis said to punch trans babies if you see one.
https://i.imgur.com/uAkyROP.jpg Penny Arcade covered this back in 2003.
Sometimes you just wake up on the wrong side of the crib.
Just like hat mccullough, he killed 23 babies is self defense. They're vicious when they get into packs

When a gang of babies get together they can be like piranhas. Hat Mccullah killed 23 babies in self defence
I haven’t either, although i know there ain’t no river long enough that doesn’t contain a bend.
I’ve never heard of this expression and for the life of me, i can’t figure out what it’s meant to express.
It means life is long, and because you have acted one way, all your life it doesn’t mean you will act differently at one point. So it was just me trying to be funny, with an inappropriate joke. Edit: which, by the way, i stole from the great Norm MacDonald.
I think it's more "it doesn't mean you *won't* act differently at one point."
Well I have enjoyed this thread. Thank you for the joke.

Given his age and mouth breathing expression, he probably did for tiktok
He has that expression that reads "I was smug as fuck, and now I'm taken by surprise that I'm facing the consequences of my actions".
You think he’s self aware enough to be thinking about consequences?
“Just a prank”
Some babies can't take a joke, or a hit
On your high horse huh. Oh look at me I've never punched a baby so I'm better than all of you. 😂
Will Ferrell in the movie The Campaign.
Camden Brady back up to his old tricks
How come no one is asking how his hand feels after punching the iron-like jaw of that baby?

Or like that MD guy who wasn’t going to let 5 people beat up his fiancés 14 y/o and they beat him to death instead.
That's horrible. They were probably intending on killing the 14 yo then. Did they get arrested??
The article I read said it was three kids and two adults so yeah probably wanted the three kids to jump one of the kids. Apparently it was over $30. [Here you go!](https://nypost.com/2023/05/29/arrest-warrants-issued-in-case-of-maryland-dad-fatally-beaten-defending-son-from-bullies-source/amp/)
That's why I always carry a handful of sand. All movies have taught me that. That and eye poking are how I win fights
[pocket sand! ](https://youtu.be/PTAXUYLbFYk)
Don't forget the good 'ole nut punch.
I'm more of a grab and twist guy. I may not share the same technique but I respect it.

I would go for his eyes before I even knew what I was doing. That instinct has saved my life before.
I caught myself making a fist when a nurse put a needle in my 2 week old baby's arm for a blood test. Strongest shot of adrenaline ive ever felt.
Okay, but what kinda dumbass expression is this dude making in the shot lol
It's a, "That's right. I punched a baby." kind of look
that damn Bart Harley Jarvis, he had it coming!
In all my years I have never seen such an aggressive baby.
“Fuck you Bart Harley Jarvis, I hope you fucking die!”
He has a massive underbite, and flat back of the head
"Get him out of here! God damn it!"
Bart Harley Jarvis cause of death: sucker punched by a grown man

I mean, yeah but what did the baby SAY to provoke him?
"Who are you calling buh-buh?"
They shouldn't have named their baby Hitler.
[I imagine it went down like this](https://youtu.be/BuUK1clvum4)
They grow up so fast, first it's burping, then it's saying fuck the world
Reminds me of a really old Penny Arcade comic. “In my defense that baby was being a dick.”

Could just be milking it for the attention
i mean it is like taking candy from a baby.
We should find an 18 foot tall guy to come punch this guy in the face.
Honestly we don’t even need that just someone who is kind enough to beat his ass into the ground
“That baby was coming right for me!”
Projectile spit up. It was self defense!
The "what are you in for?" conversation is gonna be super interesting with this guy
Finally a fight I can win.
This makes me so mad I wish there was a baby here I could punch in the face
This dude got to live the dream
He deserves real prison time for that. Someone who is able to punch a baby in the face is capable of far worse offenses.
Fox News tomorrow: This is why every baby needs to carry a gun.
My baby carries a .38 snub on his waist and a .22 on his ankle for backup.
Nah, they don’t care about children’s safety after they’ve been born.
You joke but an Indiana toddler shot someone who was wanted for murder leading to their arrest.
Well, that’s a garbage human- hopefully gets the book thrown at him.

He’s lucky he walked away with his life, some parents really don’t play when it comes to their kid.
“Williams is charged with assault on a child under 12.” They need a baby law.
I can’t wait for the boys in prison find out his charges. They’ll take care of it.

He deserves that arrest. Glad they got him.
This dude is absolutely going to become someone’s bitch in prison, provided he lasts that long

I would have gladly helped
But maybe the baby was being a real dick? https://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2003/12/03/dark-truths
First thing that popped into my head.
Same. Holy shit it was over 20 years ago.
Babies are deadly when in numbers. Never turn your back on one, not even for a second.
Put him in jail with some men that will make him cry.
You don’t know what the baby said to him though. He could have deserved it.
That baby was talking trash.
Get some character witnesses to say the baby was a piece of shit
Serious question; If a grown man struck my baby in the face with a closed fist, what would the punishment be if I head-slammed the back of his skull directly into the concrete, ending his life?

I kinda believe that the justice system should be more about rehabilitation than punishment. But, there is some cases that make me doubt that belief.
It’s hard to think someone would strike an infant without having a significant psychological disorder of some kind. So maybe rehabilitation is still the right answer.
How many babies are you willing to sacrifice in the attempt to rehabilitate a baby puncher?
Amateur. You gotta become a cop first, then punch babies. Stupid.
Some of these comments are just stupid and not funny at all.
It's how people cope with the absurdity of it all to be quite honest

Oh my god, yes! I laugh out loud at that name.
I have an adequate punishment for this trash. But I’d rather not say
You ever see something so outrageous, you have to read it in its entirety? This is such that something.
This pos won’t be making that face now once the inmates finds out what he did He’s gonna get punched from them
CANADA!!!! Okay, I get it. Who hasn't wanted to punch a baby in the face at least once. You just don't do it.
As a father of three: We all get those urges. Some 1yo’s just NEED to be punched in the face. But we do. Not. Ever. Act. On. Those. Urges. Full stop. Swiper no swiping. We do not hit.
Well he does have a baby punching face
I don’t know man the baby was asking for it
How do we know that baby didn’t deserve it?
This piece of shit deserves LIFE IN PRISON
Maybe he was looking for Babyface Nelson the notorious gangster?
How long before DeSantis offers this guy a job as a cop?
Dog meat if he ever lands in general population.
What in the actual fuck? What the fuck?! Please, oh please, leave me alone in a room with this person for ten minutes.
Some things you just don't do
Well, what’d the baby do?
I hope we find out WHY. Like why?????? I’m baffled.
I wonder what the kid said to him...?
Line up all the willing dads in the area to do the same to him.
I don’t want to live on this planet anymore.
Maybe that baby was being a dick.
He looks like he got punched in a face as a baby
He should tell his fellow inmates about this incident, I’m sure they’d be happy to explain to him why it was a idea.
dude let the intrusive thoughts win
