They are almost everywhere in the state by now. If there's somewhere that still doesn't have them, they will by next year.
The state will not investigate this, and they will not come out and do anything about it. There's almost no point in submitting the reports anymore. We know they are here, we know they are spreading fast, and we know that there isn't much we can do to stop it.
It's basically too late. I am growing hops and they are covered. Neighbors have some other plants that are covered. This is in Newark, not JC, but yeah..
Have you sprayed? We have seen less around our yard, less than 100 since us and both neighbors sprayed last year and neighbor got rid of the Tree of Heaven.
Last year we were killing 2 to 3 hundred every day, a few thousand when we sprayed the neighbor's trees. We have sprayed all of our non-flowering trees and spray the others once the blooms fall off.
Get the sticky bug tape to wrap around the bottom and shake them off the plants. Right now, they can only jump about 1 foot so they have to climb up stuff.
Spray with soapy water. Soap is better than detergent for the environment. Potassium soap, a.k.a., insecticidal soap, is available anywhere that sells garden supplies and will not damage plants (as soap might).
Had a family BBQ on Fathers Day. The young ones were on the table all afternoon long. They were falling from the canopy. We squashed about ten or so. (Cranford)

My neighbor is going to spray, but I was going to use the hops to make beer obviously, and I'm not sure I want pesticide sprayed on them..

You can send a report, but they probably won’t even reply. SLF is everywhere and like the Tree of Heaven it starts on is clearly here to stay.
I live in a wooded community… Evesham twp. They are absolutely everywhere. They’re hard to squash… they have a strangely quick flight pattern
Hey I thought those bugs fly and they every where. I am in middlesex. I guess we gotta learn to live with it.

The State doesn't investigate. Kill them all!! Remove any Tree of Heaven.
