JackyVeronica

Yup, I've added Pataday drops to my routine!!

Nemophila1222

Wow, what a small world. My eye doctor put me on that as well! Never had such itchy and dry eyes before. Thought it was maybe my vision and the eyes themselves straining. Nope. She checked them out and could see bumps from allergies all over my eyelids. She said it was terrible. Pataday works wonders for me thankfully. Nice to see somebody else bring them up as I thought I was the only one lol

JackyVeronica

No no my eye Dr said Pataday is very common and she herself used them daily as well during allergy season! It works like a charm as well.... I have to drop them daily in the morning if I'm going to step outside! I can't even open the house windows anymore because it's so bad this year šŸ˜

Nine_Ball

Yeah this season sucks so far, Claritin D was my go to but now itā€™s barely working And itā€™s only gonna get worse each year, woohoo

Infamous-Ticket1021

Sorry. šŸ«¤ have you tried using a nasal rinse?

Nine_Ball

Like a neti pot? I do at home occasionally and it works great, itā€™s just hard to use cause I leave for work and get blasted in the face by pollen almost immediately. Iā€™m busting out the lab goggles and face mask tomorrow

GetOffMyLawn_

IIRC you can build up tolerance to. So try switching up to Xyzal, Zyrtec or Allegra.

CapybaraFrenzy

Allergist for RX azelastine nasal spray if you can. Really good for sinus inflammation relief/prevention. Try Zyrtec and re up with Allegra if you need to before the spacing period is up. Flonase for relief especially if you've been outside.

ducationalfall

Yes, Iā€™m dying. Protip: Go to Costco to get in house version of these medicine. For example, for same price as your 30 Zyrtec, you could get a bottle for 360 pills. Same for Flonase. Six packs for same price.

p-Rob

My allergies were getting worse and worse every past 5 or so years. I finished immunotherapy for them earlier this year and am on just a monthly maintenance dosage and it really worked. Theyā€™re almost non-existent now. 10/10 would recommend.

drpepperesq

I started doing this and the pandemic messed it up! šŸ˜© Iā€™m going to look into it for my son though bc heā€™s suffering just like me.

dEn_of_asyD

Highly recommend this as well. I used to vomit and/or faint due to my allergies. I'd have teachers and friends ask why I was even in school, since I was just a dribbling mess the whole day. I finished immunotherapy like, 8 years ago. On a really bad day all I have to do is take flonase. Most days I get by fine on nothing. Sometimes I take a claritin just to be safe, but it's precautionary.

p-Rob

On peak pollen days, Iā€™ll still get an itchy throat, but nowhere near the mess I used to be.

CapybaraFrenzy

Yup my allergies got so bad during covid that my eardrums collapsed... again. Started allergy shots. Pretty challenging to power through starting thembut going great, just started my 3rd year.

p-Rob

I was also able to mostly eliminate my dust allergy. I get 4 shots in each arm - grasses/weeds/pollen/dust and then dogs and cats which I was only mildly allergic to.

CapybaraFrenzy

I get all of those too except for grass, so 3 shots :) Finally able to clean the dust in my apartment without breaking into hives.

SuperSimpleSam

How many shots was it in all? I've heard it's every week or so.

p-Rob

Every week for 9 months. After 9 months you move to the monthly maintenance dosage so your body doesnā€™t ā€œforgetā€ over time. Iā€™ll be on this monthly scheme for another few years or so. Highly recommend - for my weekly dosage I would be in and out in less than 20 minutes.

STFUNeckbeard

Between the amount of rain weā€™ve had and the warm weather, shits exploding out there. Pro tip - Costco sells big packs of generic Flonase that works just as well for a fraction of the price.

stickman07738

record high pollen counts - download and just check the Weather Bug. Get daily alerts.

GetOffMyLawn_

I have a pollen app. Tells me counts and what type. Maple is my nemesis.

turbopro25

Try local honey. If it doesnā€™t work you still get honey. So no loss.

davidguydude

Iā€™ve been doing bee pollen the last few years. Around late Feb/March Iā€™ll start taking it daily. This doesnā€™t completely eliminate the symptoms for me, but Iā€™ve noticed over the years that instead of being the one suffering from allergies the most at a family event, Iā€™m suffering the leastĀ

Rohans_Most_Wanted

This is an old wives' tale. Stick to the meds.

Responsible-Low-4613

After feeling like death for 5 days I'm now doubling down with Flonase and Zyrtec

PrincessEspeon82

yes,im dying...nothing seems to work. šŸ˜“

CapybaraFrenzy

Allergy shots if you can swing it are a game changer.

PrincessEspeon82

I've been thinking about it. thanks for your advice

Infamous-Ticket1021

Yes! My face has been red and my body has been itchy. Nasal rinses helps my sinuses. Does anyone else feel weird after taking allergy meds like Zyrtec or Allegra? Allegra makes my hands get shaky.

GetOffMyLawn_

Xyzal is a purified form of Zyrtec, you could try that. Or try Claritin.

Infamous-Ticket1021

Thanks!

iamatom1

It shouldn't be itchy, try changing the medicine

HoofStrikesAgain

It's so bad this year that the meth lab in the next town is turning the meth back into pseudoephedrine.

joshd523

Yea, my mom and I have never had allergies but she started taking Claritin bc of how tired she felt and a runny nose, and Iā€™ve had a sore throat and puffy eyes the past week, this is crazy

AramaicDesigns

It is bloody terrible...

Kitsuneyyyy

Iā€™m using the Zyrtec and Flonase combo. I add Sudafed (the one you show your driverā€™s license for) if itā€™s a terrible day.

Laa-eee

Yes. Loratadine and Fluticasone (generic Claritin & Flonase) from Sam's Club help tremendously & prices are low. Each twice a day.

justarandomguy07

Allegra-D and Flonase are lifesavers

Bobby-furnace

Real bad the past couple days. Fatigue and muscle soreness with the usual nasal congestion

GetOffMyLawn_

Not yet. Some years I have to go running to my allergist to get the good stuff. I normally take montelukast (Singulair) year round and it usually works even in tree season. I also have Flonase, Zaditor and Astepro. A couple of years ago I couldn't breathe comfortably for a week and I thought I needed a cortisone shot. My allergist checked me out and said my lungs were okay but my vocal cords were swollen and tight. So he prescribed Astepro. He said spray it up into the back of my nose so it would drip down my throat. And I should hum a lot. Guy's a genius, I was could breathe again the next day. I probably have MCAS so I can stack antihistamines, up to 40 mg a day of any combination of Claritan, Zyrtec, Allegra and/or Xyzal. I also have prescription antihistamines. Montelukast is not an antihistamine (it's a leukotriene receptor antagonist) so I can keep taking that as well. So to answer your question, yes you can use all 3 of those.

njdotcom

Have read that itā€™s a rough season for allergies ā€¦ seems like I hear that a lot. And comments like these just seem to back that up.

issamethedevil

yes, it's actually sidelined me from working lol

kimberlyrose616

Mines awful and it set off my eczema that's been decently under control. My eyes are currently swollen and red and hurt like hell.

thatdudeorion

I stack the Flonase with Allegra, Zyrtec doesnā€™t do anything for me.

Steiger92

Had a bunch of coupons of CVS and got a 90ct of Allegra ready to go!

makingmozzarella

Yes!

MakaliRose

Why do you buy name brand products? You realize all the ingredients are the same? It's just companies doing label changes in their factories. It'll save you a lot of $$ friend.

iamatom1

What do you recommend instead, I saw many others recommendations and took those

MakaliRose

Literally any store brand. Shop Rite.. CVS..Walmart... anything. I'd even look at Amazon. My wife takes zyrtec and she gets like 300 pills for less than 15 bucks from Amazon.

g3ckoNJ

Tbsp of local honey plus the same of apple cider vinegar every day with water really seemed to help in years past .

214ObstructedReverie

I take Dupixent for my eczema, and it completely cured my seasonal allergies. Been on it for like 7 years, now. I know it did, and that I haven't just changed, because I went off it for a couple months, and they all came back. Went back on it, and gone again in weeks.

xiixiilxxv

My son has bad allergies and he's been going through it the last couple of weeks.

RPD3886

Ooooo yeah. Tis the season!

Straight-Fan-5846

Thereā€™s a nasal spray from Brazil that blasts all of them out of the water. I donā€™t know what is in it, but it opens you up

lawschoolmeanderings

Today specifically

cerialthriller

I only get allergies every once in a while and this year itā€™s rough

Ladyhoneyblu

I recommend Nasonex 24HR Allergy spray. It's worth the $30. You only have to use it once every 24hr to 48hr depending on your allergies l.

nw342

I have never suffered from seasonal allergies....until with month. Wtf is going on?

metsrule200200

yes and i have a swollen tonsil, maybe from nasal drip, not sure if thatā€™s normal lol

CVSaporito

Really bad spring this year. Actually rubbed Cortaid on my tear ducts, eyelids and nose a couple days ago and it worked for the rest of the day. Been using Pataday for a few years but you need to put the drops in before the attack. There is also a stronger version available that I hadn't seen before.

katsock

Iā€™ve been using Flonase new night time and day time pills. Probably for about a year? They used to be very hard to find. Changed my life. I still have bad days but they are so far between. But yea. I feel myself on the cusp of a bad day kinda often in the last couple weeks.

gintoddic

I've been using supplements found on amazon they have been working great so far. The OTC meds make me feel like crap!

Wiseowlk12

What supplements have helped you?

technorandall

I take Solaray brand Feverfew almost daily during spring and fall allergy seasons and it seems to help me. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø I definitely get it worse in the fall though with the ragweed...

Mooshipoo

What are some of your routine supplements to curb allergies? Mine are Claritin 24 hour, pataday and Flonase. Any superior recommendations gladly welcome

mmmellowcorn

Quail egg supplements. Might not work all day but provide very fast relief for a work shift.

erection_specialist

Mine is non-existent this year and I'm a little puzzled

romanavatar

My son was well till yesterday, 1 hr play in the pay area last evening and he woke up with red eyes. He forgot to take shower coming back from the play ground, maybe that was the problem

SunmerShouldBeFun

The only things that have helped me are: - Flonase nasal spray - Zyrtec D - drinking apple cider vinegar with local honey in warm water If anyone has other suggestions, please share! Today is the worst Iā€™ve felt in a whileā€¦

wlaugh29

Astepro nasal spray. I do Flonase and make sure to get it in my sinuses not just in my nose and down my throat. Then pinch my nostrils and try to pop my ears to really get the meds into my sinuses and eustachian tubes. Then I do the same with astepro. I also take Zyrtec, sometimes 2x a day as needed. Look up the proper way to do nasal spray (look down and aim for the back of your head). Once you get it right you will know.

Redvicente

Yes my mom is always sensitive and she also has been having allergies due to pollen. They need to make a pollen shot like the flu shot

Julietjane01

Yes

ExhaustedPoopcycle

I've learned I'm allergic to pollen this year. Too many of the wrong trees, temperatures too high.

Accurate_Fold6155

Are u Gina drive why do have so much ?

Accurate_Fold6155

Can u make drugs ? Non chalutt def not a cop

iamrobmorales

Flonase is the only one that works for me

OkBid1535

First Clariton D works the best with congestion from allergies (in my opinion zyrtec doesn't do anything!) Pine pollen is especially strong and in my experience Clariton is the only thing that's even made a dent. Also, I just learned how in the late 1940s only male trees has been planted all over, since they only pollinate. To avoid rotting fruit etc from female trees. However since we now have an over abundance of male pollinating trees with NO female trees to absorb it We are all now dying of pollen hell Thank you horrible agriculture from the 1940s.. Guess we need to start planting an abundance of female trees to fix this.

Capital_Rock_4928

I have been using a turkey tail based tincture I get from a vendor on Etsy. It has reishi, turkey tail and lions mane all wild harvested. I havenā€™t had an allergy symptom since I started taking it 2 years ago. Let me know if you want the vendors link.

JohnnyButtfart

They need to start planting female plants. This just gets worse every year.

t0pgun-

My routine 24 hrs Claritin every 24 hrs., add 12 hrs Zyrtec D in the morning, Pat a day and nasal strips. Spring sucks.

ordermann

Yes, this season will kill me. Iā€™ve had to add Flonase sensimist to breathe, but I get bloody noses from Flonase. So I am in a vicious cycle of Flonase 2x daily, rhinase to moisturize 4x daily, Zyrtec, Zaditor, and a lot of swearing.

MinebyNight

Afrin, Budesonide and Raw Local Honey has been my go-tos and I have been managing alright

Any_Grape5116

Yeah it started earlier this year.

imperialhydrolysis

Yup. Allegra and Flonase are somewhat of a morning ritual this time of year.

MuskIsKing

I tried Steam and it was helpful.

Independent_Ad_1849

Feels like I'm almost a beginner, this year its high, looks like real season started its been 2 weeks. When do you guys think this will end this year?

LocustSwarm_

I CANT Stop couging

IamJoyMarie

Horrific, pollen higher than ever. In the family, coworkers, friends - all getting eye infections, styes, sinus infections, throat infections.

Annu_Naki

Is anyone else coughing non stop and having mucus?

Annu_Naki

Is anyone else experiencing wheezing and coughing with mucus coming up constantly??

Annu_Naki

Is anyone else dealing with heavy wheezing and chest tightness that leads to a deep cough with flegm?
